perhaps skill capes should be available to those who got 99s only in f2p, meaning that they have NEVER been member on that account

cacmypants, to ur response: therefore, if your opponent just hit 3 ~20s You heal (maximum) - 14 x 4.5 = 63 hits (I know you cant eat a half, but that's in ratio to the attack rate of a scimitar) You take - 3 x ~20 = ~60 hits of course, you could be hit higher, but honestly, what are the odds of hitting 20+ 3+ times in a row in F2P?! this is an approximation, not literal and why the hell did you "correct" it with dragon wepaons when this rant is clearly F2P. Once again, scimitar/2h combos is NOT a PKING TECHNIQUE, it is exploiting a DESIGN FLAW, cant you see that? I dont care how WIDELY it is used... _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ im sorry but ur hit ratio is wrong u can eat 3 times in 2 hits therefore 26*2 with a rune scimmy= 52damage 14*3=42 clearly u can kill and clearly if ur not stupid u will 2h and clearly it is not a "EXPLOITATION"...i suppose u didnt read my explanation...its the same as fighting a whole fight with 2h...u stil hav to restore ur hit time...and u do after u use scimmy... #-o

#1: f2p kills r not hard at all, in fact p2p has more luck involved whereas f2p requires some skill #2: simple...dont fight near obstacles...if u have some logic #3: if corrupt dragon weps had...specials...then the chance of a k0 is 100%...im sure u wudnt like that wud u? #4: im sure u have run like a chicken in the past too...espically when u mage like u stated #5: mages...IF u have a DECENT mage lvl u will inflict more damage using mage on rune full than with melee; of course bind is not meant to keep ur opponent from forever standing there like a dummy; if u suffer 2 much damage using mage...then maybe u shud try ur 0s with melee; ur range needs a bit of work as it is the most effective combat style in f2p #6: u just got the whole concept wrong...what ur saying is that if u started a fight with a 2h...u wud click...wait the 3-5sec..and then hit ur first hit...LOL; after a scimmy...u need 2-4sec to hit again...so...if u recover ur time...and 2h...then its the same as atking with 2h at the beginning of the fight... #7: safing is not a problem actually...it helps the person who DOESNT safe; besides everyone who safes is nothing but a scared wimp afraid of losing...200k in f2p? of course safing cannot b fixed...and ur got ur damage/eat calculations wrong... Dragon Weps: 31(scimmy) + 33 (2h)= 64 damage eating: 14*3= 42 healed result: quite an easy k0 f2p pvp happens to be dominated by range/2h combos as they can be tricky sometimes there are several pking techniques which can help u get ez k0s so try learning some of ur own... there really are NO issues in f2p pvp except maybe 1-iteming, safing, and drop tables (controversial) basically my conclusion is...u r a horrible pker who has no experience at all in pking and has no idea HOW to pk properly so stop whining just because u cant kill anyone or is rejected to a fight against a lower leveled player and try to LEARN i see lvl 110s fighting all the time in w21 and w32

although pvp is the fastest money maker, this is a good idea for right before you log off for a long period of time u can also do wines of zamorak for 50-60k an hr -
I did it first! Do not spam! FAST RANGEXP ON F2P!
bcranger0 replied to pipeelbakan's topic in General Guides
only 1 problem...i am 95 range 100% f2p...i range greater demons sometimes w/o picking up my arrows(i nvr do newhere) and i get a maximum of 30k xp an hr...for lower range lvls (80-) they wud hit too many 0s and this would b a horrible place... -
mm id say 50atk 90+ str and range and ud dominate...maxed out at this rate would give u 78cb...u gotta stay under 80cb if u wana win armor fights :D
-
id say pures dominate every1 up til 30cb...then maybe have some trouble til 60cb...50/50 chance in armor fights til around 66-70cb...70-79cb is the golden age of pures...the ones with range at least...easily win in armor fights going into the 80+ cb range and pures become much less dominant in armor fights but still dominate in no armor fights
-
I firmly believe that F2P range should get a boost now. After all...PVP worlds brought outrageously strong melee equipment to F2P. Even if it only lasts for 30minutes...range should deserve something that degrades fast at the least. How are range and mage supposed to combat melee now? With all the talk about the combat traingle being balanced...it sure doesnt look like it anymore.
-
Being 100% F2P is just a greater achievement for oneself. It boosts your pride that's all. As for recognition from other players, it really doesn't deserve more. Any F2P players that achieves a 99 won't be wearing a skill cape anyways.

Especially after the release of PVP worlds...the economy is totally crippled. Prices are skyrocketing and there is absolutely NO ONE selling essential supplies for pkers.

So on the whole I very much enjoyed reading this, and your definition of a pure is good for lower levels, there comes a point where it fails. 9/10 =D> thnx and pures at 75cb do have more hp as by that time they have a 90+ stat even if they have 60attack :) wel the etiquette part is what i think pures should do cuz im relly tired of stupid pures

Introduction Hello, Im Bcranger 0 and welcome to my pure guide. For those of you who dont know me, I am a pure currently with 95 Range, 91 Strength, and 90 Hitpoints as well as 1 Defence. I also have several videos on Youtube including mid-crater BH videos. I found it hard, if not impossible, to find many aspects of a pure on fan sites. So I decided to create a guide that talked about everything you ever wanted to know about a pure. You will find to your amusement that this guide talks about everythingeven things you may never have though of. The first part of the guide is dedicated to the pure community and all the technical stuff about pures. The second part talks about how to train a pure. The third part talks about utilizing your pure. Various things come to mind so I will be updating this guide very frequently, probably monthly. Yes, this is an extremely long and detailed guidego ahead and skip to the parts you want to read. I hope you enjoy my guide! NOTE: The guide contains no images at the moment because it takes forever to upload on dial-up. I may gradually add images. You might ask yourself, Why do people create pures? The answer is simple, really: for the FUN of it. Pures provide a way to focus on specific skills and accomplish specific goals in that skill. This article has been written so that people can realize that pures are not created to hinder Runescape but are created to provide the maximum fun possible. The basic definition for pure is a character that trains only one skill. This particular skill can Range from Magic to even Woodcutting. Nowadays, there are many different types of pures. When most people hear the word pure, they automatically refer to a player who has low Defence has high offensive skills. However, this is not always true as there are skiller pures who train only non-combat related skills. The Origins of the Pure Back in Runescape Classic, players could engage in PvP anywhere on the map. Eventually players discovered that leveling Magic and Defence added unnecessary combat levels. People began developing pures and found to their delight that pures held a dominate advantage over players who trained Magic and Defence. Unfortunately, Jagex found out this so-called imbalance in the world of PvP and in RS2, Jagex gave more weight to Defence while giving the same weight to Magic as Ranged. This helped balance somewhat the combat level differences. However, the differences were still greatand are to this very day. Definitions of Pures The following are the definitions for the different types of pures: Pure (combat)A character that trains only one of the offensive skills excluding attack; this type of character has higher HP than its combat level. Yes, it is certainly possible to create accounts that are pure with less HP than its combat level; it does fit the technical definition of a pure. However, in fights between pures, the pure with the higher HP almost always has an advantage. Therefore, I do not consider accounts that train one offensive skill but have less Hitpoints than their combat level as pure accounts. The purest pure trains only one offensive skill and does not utilize Prayer. Obby maul pure (trains only Strength utilizing 1 Attack) Range pure (trains only Range) Mage Pure (trains only Mage) Attack Pure (completely useless; created only for the fun of it) Defence Pure (basically useless since it will not damage others or receive damage; provides a stalemate) Hybrid Pure (combat)The strongest and most common type of pure; this type of character trains more than one offensive skill and has higher HP than its combat level. Even pures that have 40Atk and 90str technically fall under this category. More times than not, hybrids result in more HP due to the various offensive skills they master. Most people refer to a hybrid as a pure that trains Strength, Range, and mage. Hybrid pures also incorporate up to a maximum of 52 Prayer levels. In the majority of battles, hybrid pures have a distinct advantage over the purest pures. The only downside to a hybrid is the extra investing of time in order to advance more than one offensive skill. The following are the most common types of hybrid purees: Range/2h (trains both Range and Strength; most popular in F2P) Range/Mage (also known as Ancient Rangers; Range and freeze opponents with Ancients) Strength/Mage (mainly deals damage via melee but uses mage to bind opponents) Skiller PureThis type of character trains all non-combat related skills while ignoring the combat skills. This allows skiller pures to have higher skills in non-combat related skills than the average high level player. Discrepancies Regarding Pures Notice that I have not mentioned a Defence level for pures thusfar. This is due to the reason that a pure is technically someone with higher HP than his/her combat level. Many people claim that they are rune pure or barrow pure. However, the cold harsh truth is that 99.9% of rune pures or barrows pures do not fit the definition for a pure. Contrary to chance, it is possible to have a barrows pure. Generally, the Defence level of pures tend to Range from 1 to 20. True pures have a Defence level below 5. Pures who have 10 to 20 Defence are pures but are considerably weaker than other pures and therefore have a very slim chance of winning PvP with any opponent. Naming a Pure A pure's name is one of its most important aspects as it defines who you are. After all, you don't want to train a pure with a lame name. The name that you choose should always define the pure. For example, if your pure happened to be for PK-ing purposes, Fury of Lyfe(my newb acc  ) might be a suitable example. The bottom line is you want to come up with a creative and unique name that effectively describes your character's personalities. The one thing that I hate are names like pker7777 as those names have absolutely no uniqueness to them. Take your time when choosing a name as you won't ever be able to change it. The Skiller Pure Now that we have established the definitions of a pure, we should take a look at the benefits and disadvantages provides by pures. First, I will discuss skiller pures as the combat pure takes a longer while to discuss. The skiller pure basically provides no advantage over the average main besides the ability to ridicule the skill levels of higher leveled players. The biggest disadvantage is the inability to utilize some of the higher skills earned. For example, it is highly unlikely that a level 3 skiller would be able to mine runite ores in the wilderness without dieing. Another disadvantage is the inability to fight random events that occur during skilling. That basically sums up the skiller pure. The Combat Pure Moving onto the second and most popular type of pure, we encounter the combat pure. The purest pures, with the exclusion of Rangers and Magers, do not provide a significant use. These basically dominate others within combat levels ranging from 3 to 30. While they maybe be impractical for combat usage, they are fun to create and experience controlling. They provide insight into the Runescape combat system. For example, I have experienced that attack pures hit more zeros than they deal damage due simply to the fact that they are so weak. This helps put the system by which max hits are decided into prospective. I will go into detail with this later. The most dominant pure, the hybrid pure, provides numerous benefits and virtually no disadvantages. After the passing of the lower combat levels (3-40), pures begin to show their dominance in both F2P and P2P. I shall focus on the F2P aspect first. In F2P, the most common argument is that Defence dominates pures. WRONG! The bottom line is that pures can use Magic to combat Defence. Magic is after all, a combat skill. However, most F2P pures do not need to rely on the usage of Magic in order to conquer Defence. Range provides a low combat level while providing power and most importantly, accuracy. Strength unfortunately, may get dominated by Defence in F2P due to the excessive leveling of combat caused by raising Attack levels. Pures also relieve the boredom of watching zeros being hit on another character in full rune. The fights between pures provide a type of exhilaration and suspense due to the continuous high hits without the monotonous zeros. For players who want to feel a thrill when involved in combat, pures are the perfect way to go. Furthermore, pures provide a successful PvP enterprise. Undoubtedly you will have noticed that in F2P, it is extremely hard if possible to kill a player in rune full. The majority of players in armor tend to safe due to the amount of wealth they may lose. Pures on the other hand have less to lose and usually do not safe just for the mere thrill of it. A successful PvP community is based on the ability to kill others. Armor fights would seriously cripple the PvP community. When participating in no-armor fights with characters that have Defence, pures have a significant edge. The opponents Defence and attack levels become useless against the pure. Since the average account that trains Defence tends to have a low level in its offensive skills, the defensive character would have an extremely slim chance of KO-ing the pure. The pure on the other hand has a great chance to KO his opponent. Defensive accounts naturally have a low Hitpoints level due to the balanced nature of their combat skills. This creates a problem where the player exposes his/herself to a higher percentage of a knockout, considering that they do not safe. The player who has Defence must eat at a lower hitpoint value in order to avoid safing. I will delve deeper into safing later. However, the pure eats at a hitpoint value much greater than that of the opponents and yet does not appear to be safing. Combining the fact that the opponent has low offensive skills, the chances of killing a pure is reduced to almost nothing. Let us recount the advantages of a F2P pure: Provide a sense of excitement; prevent boring fights Help run the PvP community Dominate opponents with Defence Lose less wealth upon death There are virtually no, if any, disadvantages to a F2P pure during combat with other people. The only possible disadvantages occur when the pure is in a maxed-out state, which raises its combat levels excessively due to the Attack levels. I will analyze maxed pures a little later in the article. However, there are a few disadvantages to a pure during training. The major disadvantage is the training of melee stats. A large amount of food is required as well as extra time for banking every now and then. Although this may seem like a bad thing, pures usually last an hr at 80 Strength on an inventory of lobsters. The usage of extra food during training is a small price to pay compared to the advantages that pures possess. This basically sums up the F2P pure, and I shall now move on to P2P pures. Pures in P2P have far more potential than in F2P. Defence rarely gets in the way of P2P pures due to the vast array of weapons that provide incredible accuracy. Players who raise their Defence almost dig their own graves in the world of PvP. Defence becomes virtually useless and low offensive skills further lower the chances of killing any pure. There are absolutely no disadvantages for P2P pures, even Strength pures. The only exception would be the obby maul pure. Training does not provide a disadvantage either as there is Experiments which rarely hit anything on 1 Defence. The only downside to pures in P2P is that pking is quite expensive, especially when players use Item Protect. All in all, there is nothing but benefits for the P2P pure. The Defence Pure Yes, the Defence pure actually is a type of pure. However, it serves absolutely no purpose except for showing off or frustrating others :shame: . Defence can easily be taken care of using range or mage anyways. Even during a fight the Defence pure may not get damaged but he/she sure won't damage the opponent. Training a Defence pure is probably the most time consuming and results in a waste of time. I'd say if you have a life...Defence pures aren't for you. The Attack Pure A very interesting type of pure. I myself have a pure with 40atk at 20 CB. He hits only 1s despite the strength bonus provided by the rune weapons. With a strength potion however, he hits 4s at 1 Strength(utilizing Accurate mode). Pretty cool huh? Creating an Attack pure is pretty much just for fun and takes quite a long time to achieve. Until he/she obtains a rune weapon, the strength bonuses of the weapons will be so low that the attack pure hits 0s due to his weakness. Funny, right? The High Level Pure High level pures, meaning above 79 combat, do face turbulent waters, in a way. Pures do have a tough fight ahead if their opponent is fully armored with 70 Defence. This applies mainly to pures who train melee. Melee will most likely hit 0s on a decent Defence level. Therefore, the high level pure is not practical for PvP purposes. A fully maxed out pure with 52 Prayer would be 95 combata combat level where players with Defence have decent offensive skills as well. This provides a very tough challenge without the use of Magic. However, it is possibly and it may be your idea of fun to challenge yourself. Personally, I do not recommend raising Attack past 60 as it excessively levels combat. The Ideal Pure The ideal pure consists of a perfected mix of Attack, Strength, Range, Mage, Prayer, and Hitpoints. It is suggest to keep: - Attack around 50 to 60 while maxing out Strength. - Range and Mage should be maxed out - Prayer should either be kept 1, 13, 31, 44, or 52 Prayer depends entirely on the type and level of the pure. Most pures obtain 31 Prayer around 50 combat and 44 Prayer around 65 combat. P2P pures may obtain 52 Prayer for Smite at around 70 to 75 combat. Balancing a pures Prayer level is essential to obtaining the strongest pure for a particular level. The level of a pures Hitpoints has controversy surrounding it. The bottom line is: a pure must have a minimum of 3 Hitpoints above that of his/her combat level. Some pures may decide to utilize methods such as Pest Control to decrease their Hitpoints level and thus obtain a slightly lower combat level. This is not recommended as it takes an enormous amount of time. Having a low Hitpoints level realistically only lowers the combat level by an average of one to two levels. This does provide a slight advantage in the offensive part of a fight, but at higher levels, this rarely provides an advantage. However, a low Hitpoints level puts the pure in danger of eating first. Eating first usually provides a disadvantage as your food is drained first and you have no choice but to keep eating until your opponents Hitpoints are low enough. The most successful pures tend to have a natural amount of Hitpoints. This means that they do not boost or reduce their Hitpoints. Regular old-fashioned training provides a natural Hitpoints level. Pures with high Hitpoints tend to cause their opponents to eat first, which provides a significant edge in the first as the pressure is put on your opponent. All of these factors contribute to the creation of the ideal pure, but it is the player and a bit of luck that ultimately decides who wins or loses. Failure of a Pure When a pure becomes failed, that pure brings shame to his/herself and is automatically removed from the pure community forever. Failed pures should most definitely be ignored. A pure turns into a failed pure when: Raises Defence past level 20 Ridicules other pures for the sake of creating a superior feeling Commits any act that brings shame upon the pure community Safing Safing is defined as eating when having high Hitpoints, thus reducing, if not eliminating, the opponents chance to KO. The process of determining whether one safes or not depends a lot on whether the fight takes place in F2P or P2P. In F2P, the highest Hitpoints at which high level pures tend to eat is 30. By high level pures, it means fights between pures that have 90+ stats. The average pure tends to eat around 20 to 25 HP. This provides enough Hitpoints to survive most vicious attacks yet provides a chance for your opponent to KO. In P2P, due to the high hits, pures tend to eat around 6/10 of their HP. Generally, the process of determining whether someone safes or not is determined by looking at their HP bar. This provides a distinct advantage to pures since they tend to have high a Hitpoints level. Players with low Hitpoints may appear to be safing even if they truly are not. The bottom line is that players judge whether a player safes or not by looking at their HP bar. Players with low Hitpoints will find their chances of dieing almost triple when fighting a pure. Pures also receive the advantage of eating with higher Hitpoints due to the fact that their HP bar shows otherwise. For example, the typical F2P level 70 pure may have around 90 Range and 90 Strength (depends on their Attack level). They would most likely have an estimated 86 to 87 Hitpoints. The typical level 70 player with Defence tends to have around 55 to 60 Hitpoints. The pure eats at ΒΌ of their HP which is really around 22 HP. The chances of a level 70 player with Defence hitting a 20+ in F2P is extremely slim, thereby almost guaranteeing that the pure will not die. However, in order to appear to be not safing, the level 70 with Defence must eat at around 1/4hp which equals to 15 HP. The pure can easily hit a 27 considering that the player with Defence eats a lob. Even more amazingly, the pure has the ability to drain half of the opponents HP since their max at 90 Strength is a 29. Assuming the player with Defence does not safe, he/she helplessly exposes his/herself to the chance of a massive KO. One of the most important factors in a fight is the Hitpoints level. Too little and you expose yourself to great danger. Too much and your offensive skills will be low. In P2P, players must eat at a moderately high Hitpoints level due to the increased hits. However, the average level 70 with Defence exposes herself to being killed without the chance to eat. For example, a level 70 pure can easily use a granite maul to deal 60 points of damage. Dealing 60 points of damage would be a walk in the park, honestly. Therefore, the player with Defence has virtually no chance of victory even if he/she safes. The single reason why players do not safe is to provide a sense of excitement. Would there be any thrill if nobody could ever die from a huge hit? Absolutely not! Some other reasons may include fairness to the other player as well as a mark of bravery. The vast majority of the time, players with Defence safe due to their lack of Hitpoints. Debatably, players with Defence have never experienced the high amount of damage that pures cause. Therefore they tend to be scared of high hits and safe due to the fear of easily being killed. Overall, defensive players tend to safe whereas pures tend to avoid safing, mainly for the exhilaration of close situations. Psychological Effects of Pures (Combat) Creating and owning a pure account does have an impact on the individuals mind. I think it is of great importance to share details of possible psychological effects. First off, the creation of a pure helps improve the logic of the average player. Hey, lets face it: Pures simply experience more in the game and the desire to be a good pure, you naturally develop logic. Compare the average pure to the average player who has Defence. The player with Defence usually has less knowledge about the game, not to mention a little lack of common sense. Seriously, go take a look at the normal player with Defence around 50 to 70 combat. They really seem STUPID. Secondly, a pure tends to teach players to be more daring, adventuresome, and even courageous. This is due to the nature of combat between pures. Pures find the habit of taking risks during fights, not to mention the absolute despising of safing. This has a direct impact on the psychology of the individual player. He/she tends to try tasks that they have not tried before as well as take risks in certain situations. Another important effect is that pures tend to become somewhat cocky in the game and real life. This pretty much sums up the psychological effects of owning a pure account. Creating a pure might actually benefit a player more than he/she thinks. Social Status of Pures (In Runescape) The reality ismost people who play Runescape do not like pures. The major reason for this is simply because pures tend to dominate other players with ease. Additionally, pures do have a tendency tobrag about their stats to high leveled players. Who can blame them? After all, they worked hard to create a pure. As far as the viewpoint of Jagex, I only have an opinion that I have formed mostly by browsing the forums. Jagex did not create the game to be so-called imbalanced. Therefore, logically Jagex is against the creation of pures. Through the major PvP updates, it can be inferred that Jagex does indeed dislike pures. There is even evidence of this in the Postbag letters. The Gods of Runescape clearly state that they have a distaste for puresAs far as us pures are concerned, pures have do not deserve the criticisms that they receive for creating an imbalance in the game. Pures, as a matter of fact, do not create an imbalance to the game. They actually help balance the game. The PvP economy would be in a constant depression without pures, as the majority of supplies are consumed by pures. Besides, the chances of two players who have Defence killing the other is basicallynext to nothing. How would the economy flow if nobody ever died? Pures deserve respect for the dedication to their pure and should not be looked down upon just because they dominate others. Etiquette of Pures Pures actually do have etiquette that they follow during and after combat. The following are common rules followed by true pures: Wish the opponent Gl before every fight as a large portion of the fight is luck After either player has died, both players say Gf to express they enjoyed it Always ask before starting a fight Always give your opponent enough time to get ready (pots, Prayer, etc.) NEVER PJ OTHERS No protection of itemsall pures need to make a living; if you cant, then a pure is not the right thing for you No protection Prayers during fights Redo fights if your opponent loses connection or lags outtruly good pures would be able to win again Never trash talk your opponent, whether he is superior or inferior The Ten Commandments of a Pure The following are ten rules pures should always follow; some may be a repetition of etiquette. 1. Always stay true to your idealnever raise Defence 2. NEVER PJ others 3. Never trash talk others, whether they are superior or inferior 4. Always ask before fighting; give enough preparation time 5. Never pick on lower leveled players 6. Admit defeat when it comesnobody is perfect 7. Always respect other pures: the uniqueness of pures is why the pure community thrives 8. Help guide other pures in need of assistance 9. Never quit due to stupid updatesthe good always comes after the storm 10. Never commit an act that brings shame to the PURE community Part IITraining a Pure Disclaimer: Since my pure is 100% F2P, my expertise only reaches as far as the F2P training methods. However, my main is member so I can provide a short guide to P2P training. F2P Starting Out Well, just like any other character, all pures start out as level 3s. Complete the tutorial and collect the two experience lamps. Save the lamps and do not use them yet. Now go to the Stronghold of Player Safety, which is North of Barbarian Village. Complete the mini-quest and you will receive two more experience lamps. Great, now you have a total of four lamps! Use all the lamps on Ranged, Strength, or Magic. I personally recommend using the lamps on Ranged. Now, go through the stronghold and collect the 10K along with the safety gloves. Now go to the Grand Exchange and buy a full inventory of trout. Head along to Barbarian Village and climb down the hole into the Stronghold of Security. Go through all four levels, making sure to set recovery questions beforehand, and claim yet another 10K along with safety boots. Walk to Varrock and raise your Attack level to 8 using the dummies. Now your pure is ready for a formal education in offensive skills. Obtaining Special Items - Explorers Ring (3)received upon completion of Lumbridge Achievement Diary; give +1 in Prayer and Magic; provides 30 free daily low alchs; restores run energy 50% three times daily - Iron Gauntletsbought for 30 tokens from Reggie at Fist of Guthix; provides +1 more in melee defence bonuses more than green dhide vambraces The following are training spots that I have personally experienced and have found to be great spots. They are absolutely my opinions on what to train on. Quests The only quest a pure MUST do is Vampire Slayer. However, I recommend finishing all the quests and 95% of Dragon Slayer. This will allow your trade margin to become 10K versus 5K. Ranged: Throughout your ranging career, I seriously recommend leaving your arrows on the ground. It saves a huge amount of time (provides an estimated 5K more experience per hour at high levels). - Levels 1-20: Level 5 Goblins in the Stronghold of Security - Levels 20-30: Level 12 Minotaurs - Levels 30-40: Level 27 Minotaurs - Levels 40-50: Hobgoblins near Crafting Guild - Levels 50-90: Moss Giants on Crandor* - Levels 90-99: Ankous, Greater Demons *This requires 95% completion of the quest Dragon Slayer. Yes, you can gain access to Crandor without getting the Defence experience as a quest reward. Simply kill Elvarg and drop her head outside the gate. Do NOT go talk to Oziarch EVER afterwards. Moss Giants have worked perfectly as they have high HP (60) as well as a low Defence level. There are numerous safe spots as well. Personally, I have killed over 35,000 Moss Giants in order to achieve my range level. Hourly experience is around 25K; personally I receive 30k due to my high Ranged level. Bows/Ammos Shortbow/Longbowbronze/iron arrows Oak Shortbow/Longbowbronze/iron/steel arrows Willow Shortbow/Longbowbronze/iron/steel/mithril arrows Maple Shortbow/Longbowbronze/iron/steel/mithril/adamant arrows ***I strongly recommend using bronze arrows for ANY Ranged training; do not pick up the arrows. Always use RAPID mode; accurate mode is completely useless. Always use shortbows; longbows are useless.*** Equipment Head: Coif Body: Leather Body Legs: Green Dhide Chaps Weapon: Bow of your choice Amulet: Amulet of Power Feet: Safety Boots Hands: Green Dhide Vambraces Back: Cape of your choice Ring: Explorers Ring (3) Attack: The entirety of Attack should be trained on level 12 Minotaurs. The recommended Attack/Strength levels are as follows: - 10 Strength1 Attack - 20 Strength20 Attack - 30 Strength40 Attack Weapons 1 AttackIron Scimitar 5 AttackSteel Scimitar 10 AttackBlack Scimitar 20 AttackMithril Scimitar 30 AttackAdamant Scimitar 40 AttackRune Scimitar Strength: I recommend using cakes as your primary food source as they heal the same as lobsters and are much cheaper. Also bring a Strength Potion for speedier training. Always wear the best armor possible. - Levels 1-10: Chickens - Levels 10-20: Level 2 Men at Edgeville - Levels 20-40: Level 12 Minotaurs - Levels 40-99: Level 32 Flesh Crawlers* *Dont worry that they are 32 CB. Their max hit is only a 1. Equipment Head: Iron Full Helm Body: Iron Platebody Legs: Green Dhide Chaps Weapon: Scimitar of your Choice Amulet: Amulet of Strength Shield: Iron Kite Feet: Safety Boots Hands: Iron Gauntlets Back: Cape of your choice Ring: Explorers Ring (3) Magic I recommend using damage spells until 60 Magic. At low combat levels, it is of utmost importance to have a higher Hitpoints level that your opponent. Training mage using damage spells will give you that extra 2-4 Hitpoint levels. Afterwards, high alchemy is the best method. At higher levels, Hitpoints is not the only thing. Therefore, high alchemy is the best and quickest way to achieve 99 Magic. - Levels 1-13: Air Strike/Weakening Spells (Wear full iron and cast air strikes/weakening spells) - Levels 13-60: Fire Strike (Hobgoblins are an excellent source to train on) - Levels 60-99: High Alchemy (The best stuff to alch in F2P is adamant platebodies and green dhide bodies.) Equipment Head: Wizard Hat Body: Wizard Robe Legs: Blue Skirt Shield: None Amulet: Amulet of Magic Weapon: Staff of your choice Feet: Leather Boots Hands: Colored Gloves Back: Cape of your choice Ring: Explorers Ring (3) P2P Basically, I recommend using the best equipment available. The monster that I recommend for all types of training is the Experiment. It has 100 HP and rarely damages 1 Defence. Part IIIPutting the Pure to Use Equipment/Inventory The following are two of my favorite outfits to use during combat with other players. There is no reason to follow these outfit styles. They are simply an example of what pures should wear. Maximum bonus giving items should be worn as a little bonus makes a BIG difference. Fighting VS Defence Fighting VS Pures Head: Coif Head: Blue Wizard Hat Body: Leather Body Body: Shade Robe Top Legs: Green Dhide Chaps Legs: Monk Robe Bottom Shield: None Shield: None Weapon: Maple Shortbow Weapon: Maple Shortbow Amulet: Amulet of Power Amulet: Amulet of Strength Feet: Mime Boots Feet: Mime Boots Hands: Green Dhide Vambraces Hands: Green Dhide Vambraces Back: Cape of your choice Back: Cape of your choice Ring: Explorers Ring (3) Ring: Explorers Ring (3) In your inventory, you should always have a KO weapon such as a Rune 2H. The KO weapon should always be on the left side of your inventory for quicker access. The following is a diagram of what my inventory looks like. X S B P X= Rune 2H C O O O S= Strength Pot O O O O B= Rune Battleaxe O O O O P= Amulet of Power/Strength O O O O C= Rune Scimitar O O O O O= Lobs O O O O Interesting Facts The following are interesting facts that I have discovered over the years. Since your reading my guide, I should give you some helpful tips. - Did you knowthat eating an anchovy pizza takes the same time as eating a lobster? - Did you knowthat eating a slice of anchovy pizza and then quickly eating a swordfish heals 23 HP in one bite? - Did you knowthat Range/Scimitar is the most effective way to lower your opponents Hitpoints quickly? - Did you knowthat it is possible to perform a Range/Kick combo? Those were some helpful hints that most pures dont know about. I will add one hint every time I update this guide. Max Hits The following are max hits that I have personally experienced to be true. Max hit calculators are often off their calculations by one, but these are right on the bat. The maxes are with optimal equipment bonus, pot, and prayer. Rune Scimitar: 73 Str20; 78 Str21; 82 Str22; 87 Str23; 90 Str24; 95 Str25 Rune 2H: 74 Str25; 80 Str26; 83 Str27; 87 Str28; 90 Str29; 94 Str30; 97 Str31 Kick: 88 Str15; 96 Str16 Adamant Arrow (rapid): 74 Range14; 79 Range15; 85 Range16; 91 Range17; 96 Range-- 18 Highest Range/2H combo (that I hit): 15+27= 42 Damage Part IVConclusion Pures are the ultimate force in the PvP aspect of Runescape but require significant dedication. Maintaining a successful pure takes not only dedication but also requires a twist of skill during the actually fighting. Whatever the path of a pure brings you, never stray from the ideal of a pure. Thank-you for reading this awfully long guide. Good luck!
