  1. Here, use this. (A great guide written by troacctid) http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=766236 Tells you the basic idea behind farming herbs, and the reason in which you will always get a profit (Providing it doesn't die) The great guide also gives you some figures/charts to work with, showing you clearly how well you will profit, and with what herb. Happy Farming :)
  2. All that would change for me, is the ability to gain more xp/money with less trips to the bank. This goes for all skills. The food for killing, means I can stay there longer. I can farm more, I can collect more wood; the list goes on. Economically, Logic would tell me that there would be a big fluctuation in prices at the start - however over time this would all balance out. (For example, the fisher who can now fish more, ends up simply supplying to the warrior who can carry more) In the end all it would do is lengthen the amount of time something takes. Be it waiting for my enemy to die, or camping at a monster for drops, it's all going to take more time. I don't know if this is beneficial or not, personally I don't even want to think about a variable which would change so much in such a short period of time. One thing for sure, is it will balance out eventually, as it becomes part of our Runescape "day to day" life.

Yes, You probably don't want to take my Teleporting recommendation XD I only said this because it's what I did, but I know for sure you got some better ways to hit that level 55 Magic. There is a guide on this forum somewhere which if I recall gives a great method to getting the maximum magic XP for your buck (or GP of you want to be specific :P) And I'm just speaking from general knowledge here, but High Alch means you're going to want a bulk number of items to play around with. And although these Addy Square shields might give you a better return, I didn't think they were under great supply at the moment. I don't know if alching with a range of different items would be worth it or not (like 1k each, while you're still buying at the GE) - but, that's just food for thought. Either way good luck with your goal of 85 Magic :)
  4. Thanks for the LOL's :) My list of beauties - Zygomite (Best name ever + I like how they chill as a tiny fungus) - Harpie Bug Swarm (The easiest slayer task I could wish for) - Abyssal Demons (These just look cool) - Trolls (I actually hate these... However I have had to kill around 500 now due to slayer tasks, so I am giving them some respect for reproducing on such a massive scale) - Mutated Bloodveld (They remind me of the headcrabs from Half Life - Making them the coolest things to roam around on Runescape)

oops my bad. I totally forgot about the money made back. With some quick calculations... Yew Longbow (U) has a High Alch profit of 384gp 48,938 * 384gp = 18,792,192gp 34,256,600gp - 18,792,192gp = 15,464,408gp (Total Spent for getting Level 85 Magic - this is with the money you earn back at the end. Not what you spent to begin with) Yew Longbow has a High Alch profit of 768gp 48,938 * 768gp = 37,584,384gp 46,001,720gp - 37,584,384gp = 8,417,336gp (Total Spent for getting Level 85 Magic - this is with the money you earn back at the end. Not what you spent to begin with) The amount of money you make back is is the answer to the top equation, I just calculated that back into the amount of money you would have used initially in the hope that it gives you a better scope of what you're dealing with. I hope I calculated that right... (Its 4am where I am; so I'm very tired right now :P)

Are you planning to bank, or simply powermine? If you're brave enough, you could go to the Hobgoblin Mine located in the wilderness... it has 21 Iron  Otherwise the only other options available to you are - Rimmington mine - South East/West Varrock - AlKharid Chasm Mine - Edgeville Mine - Dwarven Mine - Steel Mine (In wilderness) Yup, I think that's about it as far as Iron mining goes for F2P. Which is the best?? well for a non-crowded area, logic would tell me Wilderness mines. For a sensible option I would personally go with Rimmington or AlKharid. Happy Christmas :)

Ok, something I can work with, thanks :ugeek: You will need to make 48,938 High Alchs I'm going under the assumption that you purchased the Yews Longs & Nature Runes at Max from the G.E (And because I don't know if you high alch with Finished bows or not, I will supply both :P) Yew Longbow (U) 48,938 * 452gp = 22,119,976gp 48,938 * 248gp = 12,136,624gp Total = 34,256,600gp Yew Longbow 48,938 * 692gp = 33,865,096gp 48,938 * 248gp = 12,136,624gp Total = 46,001,720gp Just play around with the calculations depending on how your obtaining the items and for what price. EDIT: I just realized now you said your 47; You need to be level 55 before you can start casting high-alch. So make this your goal first :P - This could be easily reached and I recommend teleporting. You only need 1,604 Camelot teleports to get to level 55 Magic. That will be a total cost of 500,448gp, that is if you buy Law runes at Max on G.E Obviously there are many other methods of collecting these runes, I just calculated on the quickest option.

    1) What is your current Mage Level and XP? 2) What method are you looking to level it with OR how much are you willing to spend. That will really help in some calculations. Merry Christmas BTW :) EDIT: May I suggest you make use of the calculators around? Namely: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=magic_calc.htm And http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=high_alch_calc.htm These will help tell you how much it is going to cost you :)
  9. Alright, thanks - I actually didn't even think of doing ranged, so I will stock up on arrows and head down to the dungeon to face my nemesis. And yes, I am getting points, so I guess that does give me a greater reason to do it :) Thanks for the help, its killing blue dragons @ Christmas time for me :) LEEEEEEEEEEEROYYYYYYYYYYY JENNNNNNNNKINNNNNNNNNNNNS!!!!!!!!!
  10. I love using TIF for the forum. It has a nice community, The help section is great, and everyone is allowed to feel welcome (Providing they live up to a few members grammar expectations :P) But yeah, it is great here, and this is the only forum I have used. I must admit though... I use ZybeZ a lot for the guides. I just prefer the look and layout of it, as its more sleek/compact IMO. The content however is questionable... I have had to send in corrections for a numerous number of quests :P And, I guess I also use Zybez for price checking, and the monster database. The reason for this being that I use SwiftKit. (And the content you search for comes from them) But as far as forums go, TIF all the way; it is unquestionable. Merry Christmas All :)
  11. Hey all. I just got a task for 140 Blue Dragons from Chaeldar. Judging from my stats do you think I should even bother with them? I'm worried that I wont even be able to manage 50, let alone 140. Is there some good way to do this if you think I can manage? (set-up wise) And I guess with my low stats, banking a lot will be inevitable. Sorry, I'm just a very cautious player, and I have never had such a task like this before XD Thanks - And Happy Christmas.
  12. I would say Graphics Update for me. The whole new resizing experience with the game is great. And I love being able to play the game with the new HD graphics, and 4x anti-aliasing. It just makes it look so much better, and draws my attention more to the surroundings. (Strolling through Canafis Woods at night, on a projector... That's enough atmosphere to keep me focused :D) Another update from the last 5 years, would have to be Slayer. I enjoy it because it brings a mix of exploration, combat, and levelling multiple skills at the same time :) Happy Christmas All.
  13. I must say I totally agree with you on the whole Teamwork factor. This game doesn't force it upon us, or "strongly suggest it else you're dead" That is due to the fact the game doesn't only revolve around combat, and questing. Being able to mix between playing solo, or with friends, gives the game that added freedom. Man, I really do love Runescape, and I'm sure if it was a real person I would of asked it to marry me by now. :P Perfection.
  14. Ok then, fair enough :D Will do on my next trip. Expect a new pic in around 2 days :P My apologies on adding that glow. Merry Christmas :)
  15. I just went from 65 Strength to 70; I got the message on every single one. If I recall I also had it on my 71 in attack. I wonder why it isn't fixed yet, It has been a while now. Oh well, I'm sure it will fix sooner or later, as I guess it isn't meant to be like that right? :P Happy Christmas All BTW :)
  16. I play/pay for runescape for the following reasons: - It has so much for me to do, which keeps me actually enjoying the game. - It isn't that addictive to me, and its one of those games which you can get off quickly for a while and not have any consequences (Perhaps not true for all tasks... but you get my drift) - It doesn't cost as much as WoW :P - I really don't want to spend a lot on a game monthly, as I have better things to spend that money on... - I can play it practically wherever I go, providing I have the right set-up; I know the same is said for other games, but this gives me the freedom to not install something... - I like the community side of things, on fan-sites and such. And you mentioned Club Penguin? Pfft, please never compare the two with each other again :P There is a ton of difference between throwing a snowball at another penguin, and throwing a snowball at another player while they are skilling... (Thanks to last years Christmas event) :)
  17. Awww, Sorry :( force of habit that is... (making it smoother if the cut-out is rough) Can I have someone who is actually running this give their view before I go to the hassle of heading back to bank and putting it on? :P I mean, it's going on a black backdrop anyway right, so that kind of cancels the effect out.
  18. I would make the account: Bill Gates My friend would make the account: Steve Jobs Then we would fight in PVP server, and both loose to some other guy called: Linus Torvalds ---- Other cool names I would take: Noob Boon Reported FYI FBI Police Moderator Mr. Gower Mrs. Gower 1 One You Fail Internet Basically many words in the dictionary would just about do for me :)
  19. oops I forgot to take my picture (was busy with slayer :P) So now I'll post it Forum Name: NuckingFuts Runescape Name: awcaddet2 Picture: Hopefully I will have a much better pic next year :P Merry Christmas All :)
  20. God jul alla ^ From Sweden :) Yeah I wish everyone "Happy Christmas" on this forum:) My new start to this forum (minus the name rant in one thread) has been a great one. I love the support this community can offer, and the discussions held on the forum :D Thanks + Happy Christmas + Happy new year when it finally comes around.
  21. I don't know about you but I can XD (Ok so that might be using two computers, but... :P) - Browsing tif also works if you can fit the game/forum into two windows next to each other, but I guess that's just personal preference and dependant on set-up. Hmmm, I don't want to leave a post without some form of contribution, and no one has said this yet... I don't know if there are any Runescape related Ventrillo or Teamspeak servers out there (chances are you will find one) But if you have a mic/don't mind talking you could join one of those; or any old server, and talk to some people :P It really does just boil down to your personal preference, whether you want to do something out of game while alching, or simply take part in some other RS activity at the same time. Either way, I wish you the best of luck and fun for the task :)
  22. /end indeed... please My list of stuff I normally do to pass time, be it alching or not (some only work if you have a big enough screen or another one for that matter...): - Watch a Movie - Chill on tip.it - Do your homework! : - Go to some bank in PVP worlds and enjoy what happens outside. - Go to one of those PVP related mini-games and enjoy the action. (Like dual-arena) - Get in some farming xp (might as well level that tedious skill up when you can right? :P) - Play another game at the same time (This might take some practice) - Find some in-game friends, and go to the place they are skilling (like hunter locations?) - Join and Chat in a CC or IRC - Do some calculations for how much xp/money your making (You might not really want to do that one btw...) Possibilities for what you can do are endless :D Have fun  & Merry Christmas.
  23. If you keep the aspect ratio the same while shrinking that should not be a problem at all. If anything I would of thought having anti-alias set to X2/X4 would result in a much sharper/better quality image.
  24. With all due respect you might be F2P, but remember P2P are on the same gold ore price bandwagon as you lot :P I can't recall, but did gold ore ever used to be around the 600gp ea mark back in the day anyway?
  25. Crafting guild, is not where you have most of them. P2P members have an area accessible to them in Keldagrim; which pretty much has all the gold or you could wish for (it's like the Mining Guilds coal supply) With the cost of 3 ore per bank trip (with ring), it is a fairly decent area to obtain it. Despite this case, I would assume it isn't the main source of gold ore, but you have to think that the more places available (like this) the more it will push the price down. And TBH 508gp ea isn't all that bad, it seems to fit in nicely between the costs of coal & mithril ore.
