  1. I've personally been doing 10 raw fish, and 5 maples. So far for 3 weeks in a row (collecting each week) I am hitting over 1m - but, that can change any time because you have to be lucky with what you get from the nests.
  2. Ah ok, sweet :D Thanks again for your help, that's cleared up my main concerns/questions :)
  3. Right, well I have started doing Natures at the Abyss :D I got my 3 pouches (small / med / large) and so far so good. And I will move onto Laws at 54, and then see how I go from there. One question about the pouches - I read that they degrade? How will I know when I need to get them repaired (for 9Kgp if I'm correct?) Because so far I haven't found any indication as to the statuses of my pouches :( Thanks :D + Thanks to all those that helped so far.
  4. I never really set a desired type of music to play when I'm on Runescape. I just open my media player, and leave it on shuffle/repeat. I have music genres such as Rap, J-Pop, Gothic, Alternative, Industrial Metal etc. I just download the music albums I like from hearing it on YouTube, or friends recommendations, and with over 7 days worth of playable music, I just enjoy what ever comes up :D I also disagree with the trend you have decided to bring up - sure, tons of people mention Disturbed and SOAD, but I also have spoken to a handful of people who talk about Fort Minor, Linkin Park etc... Everyone has different tastes in music - simple as.
  5. ooo, I shall be doing that soon then :D Thanks for your input people, it's appreciated.
  6. I'm not sure about those 3PC BAZOOKA ones (I've never heard of the make TBH) But I believe Logitech have some good quality sounding speakers - and for that reason I would side with the R-20's you picked out. I personally use and just brought these: http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/1107554/Logitech-X-230-Speakers/Product.html Sound quality is just... awesome - and at that price I won't complain. --- Logitech also do some AudioHub things which are perfect for a laptop. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakers_audio/home_pc_speakers/devices/3503&cl=us,en 2.1 sound and integrated sub. It's pricey, but you pay for what you get. EDIT: IMO the 3PC BAZOOKA are even more flawed in the fact they put the volume control (I assume that's what it is) on the sub-woofer - Sub-woofers in my opinion sound better when on the floor. It just makes it more of a hassle to reach :P
  7. I know peripherals aren't your biggest concern, but just in case you like eye-candy, functionality, gaming, I figured I would post this. Here goes. ----------- Dude, if you have the money to spare, and want waste it on gaming gear (if you're heading that way...) 1 word. Logitech G15 Keyboard and G5 Mouse And if you really want to push your budget... The new Logitech G19 keyboard and G9x Laser Mouse (Not sure if it's out already... but soon I guess) [hide=Images that make my mouth water] [/hide] Or get the whole set of new Logitech Gaming gear and look like this guy :P ------------- Yes I am that much of a nerd... :( Back on topic more - From what I read you are getting some decent gear. I don't know if you're going 64bit OS? if so you could make use of the ram advantage and go 8GB if everything else is OK with that? But yeah, it's looking good so far.
  8. I'll be honest with you, I haven't had much "fails" in Runescape... No, that tends to happen to me more in real life... Like today I cycled into a lamppost while getting distracted (What can I say... she was good looking - and I couldn't help but look at her) One stupid thing I remember was when I was playing back in the day (low level, mithril/adamant meant a lot to me, and so did 50K) I was trying to show off my new armour I brought, and also showed a friend how much money I had (around 90k? Yeah I was RICH -.- ) Well, after the trade screen I ended up clicking on one of the Varrock guards, and being in the busy world I was in, didn't really pay attention to the fact that I started attacking this NPC... I remember noticing it at about 10hp and in the panic clicked on the screen to try and run away. Yeah, running over to another Varrock guard to attack him - What a great idea... Well I failed, lost my money, and was fairly P'd about the whole thing.
  9. [hide=Mass quote of AV Debate] please refrain from talking in discussions you have no knowlenge about! - It makes you (probably correctly, but that aside) look dumb! mcAffee is still known as a very decent Anti-virus program: it catches most viri and worms! Really and there's a huge difference between hacking and account scamming: account scamming is "legal" (at least according to the law, but morally not): the victim told the scammer his information in some way! Hacking is when the victim doesn't do anything related on purpose, yet the account is compromised! Really keylogging a pin is "just as easy" as keylogging a simple password: the only difference is that the program to hack has to be written especially for runescape (you can't use a generic keylogger). And it has a much larger memory/cpu footer (instead of simply watching for keyboard input it has to watch for mouse input, listen to program output, copying the datastream). - But with nowadays quad core processors you would hardly notice that! Ow btw: bruteforce cracking hardly ever happens nowadays: you probably won't ever notice this, but runescape (as most other programs) have pretty good protection against it! (IE: if it notices you're doing too many attempts in exactly the right time, it blocks your IP, and informs your ISP). Also as for passwords: there used to be 1 major flaw in the runescape password recovery center: I could get my pass with only providing this information: -4 old passwords -some tragi-comical talk about how you lost your account -date last log in All which are (if you're hacked once) easy to get for a hacker! Not sure if it still works though. I think you're the one that has no knowledge about what you talk. Firstly, mcAfee is far from a decent AV program. First, it's one of the most resource hungry AVs out there. Second, it has pretty bad detection rates, and I can prove that to you. You have the choice to either get a good AV like Kaspersky, Avira (full or free edition) or NOD32, jut use an online scanner like Kaspersky's online scanner or Housecall. If you go for another AV, you will see how much of a resource hog mcafee is, if not, you will still see that mcafee didn't detect all your viruses. Even Norton is better than mcafee now, since they corrected a bit the part of their program that made it a resource hog, but it still has bad detection rates. You did not describe hacking in anyway. For it to be hacking, the hacker has to go inside the victim's computer and get that information personnally, in which case, I don't see anywone who would do it. All the "hackers" do is they use phishing sites or sites that send keyloggers as bait for people to willingly go on those site. I think you know the rest. There, short and clear. [/hide] Thank you so much sbrideau2000 for setting that other person straight. If I have one pet peeve in this life, it's about people who even bring up "good anti virus" and "mcAfee" in the same paragraph. -------- I see a lot of you started talking about how this wasn't hacking, and that recommendations were made as to how to stay secure... so I wont be bringing up any of those points. One post I did read (somewhere in here) mentioned that the people who are in charge of these keyloggers should be doing better things with their time than obtaining RS information. You, have a point - but also take into account that they are probably also taking all of their other information as well. I have rarely seen a case where someone is operating keylogging software on someone's computer, and stops after collecting once piece of data. Chances are they will harvest a lot of information (account details/passwords/even chat scripts if it's personal) - This information is then either used, or posted on a thread, in a forum (much like this) so that other people can grab what they want, in a first come first serve fashion - I myself have seen Runescape accounts crop up a few times in various password/account dumps. It is also well known to people that there are different risk factors when dealing with different pieces of information (Bank Details > MSN Login) So, like with all things in life, people will focus on doing/obtaining something they feel comfortable with. ---------------- As to the "deal" with doing any of this stuff? It's Simple, because they can, and/or they want something. This world isn't all pleasant, and a growing minority simply don't care about other peoples feelings when they steal, I mean why should they? When it's done over the internet, they can be fairly certain that they will stay anonymous and safe to any regular user. It's times like these that make you say "life's a b**ch" - well... it's going to stay that way, and the "hackers" couldn't give a damn.
  10. As simple as that eh? Sounds good to me :) Thanks for your help.
  11. Now before I start, I would like to apologise for asking such a question that can have many... many answers - However I figured instead of wasting time doing a few calculations to work out xp/money... only to then find there are better methods, I would ask for some advice here :) Ok, well I am level 50 in runecrafting (Yeah... I only bumped it up to that to get into that guild :D) I am now looking to raise this level (not to any level in particular) but also gain money at the same time, money being my main concern. Put simply - What is the best way for me (at my level) to make money while runecrafting. And yes, I shall most likely be purchasing the Pure Ess, however I hear you can still make profit doing that... so why not? There are many different runes I can make, and methods of getting to these alters, and then there's the minigame to consider, anything worthwhile there? I don't know, and I have been pondering on this question for a while now... (around 2 hours to be exact :P) Thanks in advance to any help that can be given :)
  12. Telescope pointing at Draynor? I swear to god last time I looked at it, it was looking at the South Wizards Tower? (Unless I'm being an idiot here and talking about someone else :D) To be honest I am really looking forward to any more story's relating to the "Eastern Lands" that I have heard about in quests - and I agree with you on those history quests, Nothing better than going back in time to stop a crying baby... from crying :P
  13. [/hide] It's understandable, and I think we all have to appreciate the fact dealing with a game as large as Runescape must be no easy task... I respect the fact that they actually told us what went wrong, and what caused it. They were only trying to help us/improve the game, but hey, sh*t happens. They rectified it for now and admitted it, good for Jagex :)
  14. Already been posted in that update thread found in General Discussion [hide=Click here for image of reward
  15. Programming, because it can help you with current/future careers :P or Astrals, you could sell them to me seeing as I will be doing the Lunar Quest tonight - Runes for my new spell book please? :) On a serious note about the Astrals though, I would do them just because you mentioned they were quicker. The sooner you get out of doing something boring, the better right?
  16. It actually feels awesome when I'm running around now, and it just does it without doing some crazy dance. Doing agility should be more smooth now :D And the quest sounds neat - sure, not the big #150 a lot hopped for, but it is still a quest :)
  17. http://www.zybez.net/minigames.php?id=27&runescape_sorceresssgarden.htm#3.2 Fairly self explanatory when reading that, or just looking at the mini map of the area. Just remember don't try and rush it, observe the movements of the spirits (or w/e they are) and go when it's clear. You will get better after a few attempts. And nice to see someone using it for some quick xp :D That's what I did in Autumn garden to round of to the level I needed. For me, it sure beats pickpocketing stupid farmers that move around... :) Good luck.
  18. What's your prayer? Because you could try giving pray Aviensie a go - Just remember the prayer restore potions :D
  19. Haha yeah, I played it in HD, in a darkened room, and on a projector that filled up my wall :D I didn't find the spiders all that scary, however I was surprised by the number of them. Different people, different levels of fear I guess.
  20. NuckingFuts replied to Imamonkey's topic in Rants
Omali is right. I have no idea what Imamonkey is on about because he/she decided to make a rant without saying what exactly happened? -.- -.- Please, enlighten me and describe what your rant is about? :)
  21. Going off-topic but... Stealing creation is a minigame (I'm sure you have heard of sacred clay tools and such on the forums - well they come from this minigame) And having a high level thieving level means you can pickpocket other players while in the game, the higher the better, and the more LOLZ to be had. More info: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=836
  22. Thanks for the help Cptbaker08 & spyderownzyou  Time to get me some penguins.
  23. Two questions (not at all related) put into one thread :) 1) For the health restore special from Guthans to work, would I need to have every single part equipped at the same time? (Chainskirt / Helm / Platebody / Warspear) 2) Anyone know of any good Penguin Hunting clan chats? I have two annoying levels left to get in Thieving, so I figured a bunch of XP from hunting penguins, would be more fun than the repetitive pickpocketing on the Master Farmers :D Thanks in advance [Answered]
  24. Because pretty much all of the monsters you have to kill in slayer tasks drop charms? Gold being very common and such.
  25. If you want other people to just download it, then something like Rapidshare, Megaupload - Most file hosters out there will do the trick. Otherwise you can just upload it to some other video site (Yahoo?) But what's better than Youtube these days anyway? :P
