This really depends on type of activity. For something, say, herblore, making prayer potions, I could quickly go and gather a few snapegrass with ease and make prayer potions. But for something that is even relatively complicated, like getting sharks or pineapple pizza, I just GE it.

To the OP: Well, I would be quite happy if JaGex did actually tweak the prices back how they should be, the reaction is quite amusing, the whining of the clan 'merchants' are like saying "Omfg JaGex you didn't let me abuse this bug so I could get really rich and also get away with it!" (It is an example, I am in no way saying that the GE is bugged). I think JaGex should do more of this, teaches these idiots some consequences of clan 'merchanting'. It really angers me when a teacher accuses me of doing something when I actually didn't do it. One time I was literally standing in line with my friends, just waiting to go to lunch. My teacher came up to me and started yelling at me for goofing around. I asked what I did wrong and her response was, "You know what you did!" I didn't get into serious trouble, but if stuff like that happens then I can only wonder what some kids get detention/suspension for. Yeah I know what you mean, once I tripped up on something and 'lifted' myself on a friend's shoulder for support, then the teacher said "YOUR GETTING A FREAKING DETENTION FOR PUNCHING THAT STUDENT!" Pathetic school or what? -.-
