  1. Oh okay. Then it's probably mostly panic selling. Can anybody explain to me what the MTK glitch is or link me somewhere that does?
  2. Maybe I'm just stating the obvious here but the reason why a lot of items have been crashing lately is because of the Treasure Trail update. Many of the items that are crashing are old treasure trail items, that's because included in this update: So basically the chances of getting treasure-trail specific items has greatly increased and so will the supply and, as I'm sure you all know, with increased supply comes lower prices (and, in this case, possibly lower demand, too, because they won't be as rare.) Also items like seeds, herbs, and the like are crashing because (as often happens when there's a big update) the high level players are all doing clues instead of growing trees and doing herblore (so demand has gone down but there's still the same supply) because currently it's easy to make over 10 million a day doing clues (so my friends tell me anyway). These items will probably go back up to their normal price very soon, of course, and so are most likely a good buy at the moment.
  3. Maybe. I did say "now" meaning like right now but not necessarily forever. I can say this much - if I had cash at the moment I would definitely stock up on rune bars and ores. No, not at all. Actually I'm quite happy about it because I'm soon going for 99 smithing so I don't have to use noob armor and weapons (89 atm).
  4. First off, as far as I know, nobody has yet been banned for manipulation. If anybody ever does I'm sure smokin mils and maybe gertjaars would be the first to go. Also, I don't think this would be an effective punishment for all the bannable offences. Take the following for example: # Knowingly exploiting a bug # Jagex staff impersonation # Password, account, bank PIN or item scamming # Encouraging others to break the rules * Asking for or providing contact information such as full names, ages, postal or email addresses, telephone numbers or bank details * Discussing or advocating illegal activity of any kind, such as the use of illegal drugs * Advertising other websites In many cases people who break these sorts of rules would not be deterred by having to pay money or not getting good exp rates because most of the people who do this kind of stuff are noobs.
  5. Right after the Dungeoneering Caves update I wrote a post here on tip.it forums (Link) saying that the update would result in making training with runite bars cheaper (and smithing in general). Everybody said I was crazy for saying that (examples below) and I told myself I would prove them all wrong someday and, well, now I am! That's right, folks. Today, August 8th, you can make 230k exp and 200k exp per hour making Rune 2hs and the prices of smithing other rune stuff has drastically dropped, too, to the point that (woot just got 85 fishing!) it's one of the best, if not the best, ways of training smithing. Plus, the great thing with smithing rune 2hs is that you don't need to do Stealing Creation because by doing that you would only get less exp and gp per hour! To check and see what the current gp per hour and exp per hour is for smithing rune stuff, see Grimy's Smithing Spreadsheet.
  6. i think ahrim robes are arguably better for strykewyrms though. you're sacrificing a few gp/hour for better magic accuracy and it's not like strykewyrms have negligible magic defense. that and i can't think of any boss monsters you'd want to mage, where you would be willing to sacrifice melee/ranged defense. But it's not just just about gp/hour. It's also about how long of trips you can take - they'll be a good deal longer (which almost everybody prefers) when you have a high prayer bonus. Bosses: dagannoth rex. With him you could heal from all those little things that hit you with Soul split and not have to worry about guthans. Corporeal beast. He ignores defence completely and being able to heal easily and stay longer is a big deal there. Metal dragons: You can mage and stay there a lot longer. I can think of barely any boss monsters that you wouldn't want to sacrifice defense for prayer especially because you can heal a lot with soul split. You could also use the Augury prayer against monsters like metal dragons which might (I have no clue) be faster exp than killing with ahrims.
  7. I think the only reason they released this is so that tier 4 has its own 3rd age set. From my understanding, you cant get 3a melee/range/mage from tier 4 cluescrolls Yea, of course. I agree with almost everything you say. I even think your right about the reason why they made the set. The robes cost a ton and only the richest of people will be able to buy them and maybe only half of them will think it's worth it. That doesn't mean, though, that the set isn't good - which is the only thing I'm arguing. They are undeniably the best for when you need to use pray and mage and there are definitely situations when higher levels need a good mage and pray bonus (most notably at Ice Strykeworms and bosses where people wear that kind of equipment all the time).
  8. I might be wrong, but I don't believe you need to actually equip a fire cape to actually fight them, you only need it in your bank to get the task (or spend 2,000 tokens to unlock them). All the fire cape does is act as a sort of ferocious ring for ice stryke's. Yea you don't need to but it's worth doing because you hit a lot higher.
  9. Before today there were three sets of Third Age Equipment: Melee, Magic and Ranged. These armor sets are all very rare rewards from level 3 clue scrolls which look good and have good stats for non-degradable armor. All the sets are very expensive because of their looks and rarity, though their stats are comparable to the less-rare and less expensive armor dropped by the bosses in the God Wars Dungeon. Today (or perhaps yesterday or a year ago, depending on when you read this. Same is true for above lol.), along with a bunch of other new treasure trail rewards, a fourth set came out called ‘Third Age Druidic Equipment’ which gives a high prayer bonus. Surprisingly, this Third Age armor is a reward from level 4 clue scrolls rather than level 3 like all of the other sets and was released with a higher market price (245mil!) than all the other 3rd age gear, though at first glance it doesn’t seem much better than the others. For this reason and the fact that the new set’s stats are comparable to other much cheaper sets like proselyte armor, some people are complaining that the druidic set is not good enough. I disagree. I see a real potential for Third age Druidic Equipment that other people seem to have been missing and I think really does put it above all the other sets. The full set (including cloak and staff) gives a +31 prayer bonus, a +28 magic attack bonus and a +30 magic defence bonus. If you replace the cloak with a Soul Wars cape (reward from Nomad’s Requiem: +12 to prayer and and +8 to all defence stats) and also weild a full Zamorak/unholy book (+5 to prayer and +8 to all attack stats), a fury (+5 to prayer, + 10 to magic attack and +15 to magic defence), barrow gloves (+6 to magic attack and defence) and infinity boots (+5 to magic attack and defence) you end up with a +47 prayer bonus, a +57 magic attack bonus and a +61 magic defence bonus. Those are some seriously good stats for when you need to use magic and prayer at the same time. With full proselyte and a crozier (plus all the other items listed above that give best prayer and magic bonuses), you can get a +44 prayer bonus, but only a -28 magic attack bonus and a +40 magic defence bonus. So, as you can see, Third Age Druidic Equipment far exceeds it’s competitors when it comes to good magic and prayer armor. One place I can think of where 3rd age Druidic Equipment would be especially useful is at Ice Strikeworms (though you’d have to wear a fire cape instead of Druidic or Soul Wars cape). Here you could auto-cast fire surge and use the soul split prayer (which heals you 1/5th damage) to keep you from dying. The same strategy would be good for most of the Runescape bosses and I’m sure for lots of runescape monsters – if you can think of any in particular please tell me. Oh, I forgot to mention that the Third Age Druidic Equipment looks awesome, too! Hopefully that, added to all the other stuff you’ve read, convinces you that Third Age Druidic robes aren’t nearly as bad as they seem and, if you’re extremely rich, maybe even to buy a set! Note: this post was copied from my blog with my permission (har har har). Sometimes the post on my blog is more up to date and sometimes the post on the forum is more up to date but for the most part I keep them both up to date.
  10. I tried but it was really odd. Firedownload didn't recognize what it was downloading and that seemed to make it slower (like around 100kbps) and I ended up with a "part file" that couldn't be opened.
  11. I know how to download videos (from sites like youtube) with addons like DownloadHelper or Flashgot. The problem is, these programs don't (or don't seem to) let you use Firedownload which I want to use because I get an average of 1.5mbps with Firedownload and only about 100kbps for all other download managers I've tried. So does anybody know how to download movies with Firedownload? The real problem, I guess, is that Firedownload doesn't 'recognize' videos as downloadable (i.e. you can't right click and press save).
  12. Haha, wow . I honsetly did not think about it. But it kinda proves the point because if this were posted in the "Website Section" there would be like 3 replies. Plus I think there's a good amount you can get away with posting in general discussion. I do clicke "Moved" posts a lot that I see, too. Noticing this is what gave me the incentive for this topic.
  13. Think about it. Say: You post a suggestion in General Discussion. A friendly mod moves it to the appropriate "Runescape Suggestions" section. Now people will see your thread whether it's in the Runescape Suggestions section or the General Discussion section. Sure, in General Discussion there will be a big Moved marker in front of the thread but that doesn't mean it's not there and people won't click it. In fact the Moved market might draw some attention to people scanning through posts. In the end, more people will probably look at your thread than if you just posted it in the "Runescape Suggestions" section. Or am I missing something?
  14. No. My obsession with Runescape and inability to quit is what keeps me from from quitting Runescape lol.
  15. Yea it was a summer crash but somewhat unexpected (by me at least) because many things had already been crashing all summer because of other reasons. I wouldn't have guessed that stuff would crash after it had already been decreased by so much.
  16. Oh okay. Sounds pretty expensive lol. I heard something about using humidify spell on jugs but are jugs any easier to obtain anyway? P.S. what's your sig supposed to mean? I see it all the time but i never understood. You can humidify jugs, but for someone of your wealth and money-making abilities you really shouldn't waste your time. [hide=On the Signature]It's an old sig, but I'll give a brief explanation. Well, there was a bug at one point where if you typed the greek letter mu, any player who saw it would disconnect. Some players, including at least one TIF member abused this in Bounty Hunter and killed defenseless players by disconnecting them. This prompted some players to make a signature identical to mine, but had a big greek mu where the TIF symbol is in mine, and the words "say no to cheating punks on these forums." I thought that this was pretty uncalled for, and my signature was kind of a mock up of that signature. I guess I was trying to say "if you want to further denigrate players who took advantage of a bug and were punished by losing their characters, you may as well be against TIF entirely". Probably not what it comes across, but it's old as hell, to be honest :P[/hide] Well I don't know how much wealth is gonna be left after these dungeoneering updates - i have 1bil in ranarr herbs and seeds lol. And thanks for explaning about the weird siggy. I'll check out shantay pass.

  18. Can bots really do that kinda stuff these days and get away with it? If so Jagex definitely shouldn't have done this or made it somehow bot resistant. I do agree with you that currently prices are only going down because of panic selling.
  19. I want to make wine for fast cooking exp but maybe it's not worth it because of difficulty of obtaining jugs of water. Anyone know?
  20. There are chaos druids there o.O? Wow then Jagex' conspiracy was bigger than I thought. Not only will pray pots and ranarrs stay low but training herblore in general might get a lot cheaper @PikachuMayhem - I'm pretty sure that's against the rules and if it really does work that way then there's gonna be a lot of competition that will render it not nearly as profitable + the people couldn't kill Chaos Druids then.
  21. Everybody thinks Ranarrs are going to continue crashing because of the new cave which spawns them that you only need 10 Dungeoneering to enter. I beg to differ. In this cave, Ranarrs spawn once every 100 seconds. This means 36 can be gathered on each world per hour hour. If people can get 8k each for them then (36*8k) that’s 288k per hour. They can also pick up Irit herbs which would add about 100k and make it 388k per hour. But that’s only if there is no competition. If there is, that profit could easily be halved or worse. Only the noobiest noob would sit around for an hour picking up spawns for (a questionable) 388k gp and no exp. Especially when there are so many other more profitable, less tedious and exp-gaining ways to make money. If the prices did drop alot they wouldn’t stay down for long because then it would be even less worth it to pick up spawns i.e. it might only be 250k per hour then. The reason Ranarr herbs are dropping now is artificial. Everybody is dumping because people don’t understand that it’s so not worth it to gather ranarrs and irits and that nobody is going to bother. As soon as people realize the truth they’re gonna stop dumping and start buying at max (because the price will have dropped and you’ll be able to get for really cheap.) and the price will go back to normal. If, as they always do when there’s a PvP update or more people playing for whatever reason, the prices of Ranarrs go up a bunch, it will make gathering this way somewhat profitable so people will start gathering again and the prices of Ranarrs will go back to their average price. So what this cave really does is keeps the price Ranarr Herbs and prayer pots from getting too high. EDIT: I just found out that there are Chaos Druids in the lvl 10 cave, too. This may provide people a greater incentive to camp there because they can kill druids for their herb drops and pick up the ranarrs at the same time. This means ranarrs might be going down afterall - though not for sure. It’s not only the price of ranarrs and prayer pots that Jagex wants to keep low, though, they also want to decrease the price of leveling smithing and prayer. This is, of course, what I call “Jagex’s Great conspiracy”. Prayer: Frost Dragons drop bones that give 2.5x as much exp as dragon bones but aren’t that much harder to kill than normal dragons. Everybody’s going to be killing them to get 20k for the bones and so there will be a lot of supply and price will go down along with prices of other bones and the price of leveling prayer. Smithing: There are 3 runite ores in one of the caves. This will make it much easier to obtain ores and thus increase their supply, effectively lowering the price it costs to smith rune stuff. Also, in one of the dungeoneering caves there are steel + iron dragons and and anvil all together. This means people can kill the metal dragons and then make iron/steel platebodies to get free smithing exp. Plus (one of the most shocking things) one of the resource dungeons holds 6 mithril 3 silver and 13 coal rocks that are right next to a bank deposit booth and, what's more, F2P players can access them! This will definitely make the prices of coal and mithril fall, along with the prices of all bars. More about the whole conspiracy thing: I think it is a conspiracy because this isn't the first time they've done stuff to cheapen or "noob down" skills. Take double exp weekend when people could get 99 summoning for half the money and time or effigies which make lvling slayer a lot faster because they're dropped all the time and give a ton of exp. I'm sure there are more out there that I'm not aware of. I think they're doing this to cater to the desires of all the 12 year olds (who make up the majority of their members) out there who all want an easier game. Note: this was all copied from my blogwith my permission lol.
  22. Hmm that sounds like it could be it except that there doesn't seem to be too noticeable an effect when multiple people are chopping. I'd like to get a group of like twenty people to all chop at the same time because according to this it would cause the tree to deplete an average of 20 times faster. I wander if it works something like this, though. If one person is chopping let's just say the chance each time is 12%. If two people are chopping the change might go down to 8% for each player or maybe a little higher. If 12 people are chopping, then, there might only be a 2 or 3% chance for each player. That would explain why trees with 5 people don't seem to deplete much faster than trees with 1 person. @SVS - I've never heard about soft and hard veins. Do you have by chance a link to a forum post or website that tells you which are soft and which are hard?
  23. Does a tree (or ivy, concentrated coal/gold deposits, fishing spots, etc...) deplete faster if multiple people are chopping it at once or do they deplete at the same rate they would if only one person were chopping? In other words, do resource-givers like ivy vines have a set number of vines/logs/ore, a set amount of time before depletion or something completely different (explain what)? Let's consider both ways - tree being understood to mean any resource-giver except those from which only one resource may be drawn from, like normal trees or iron rocks. 1. Upon spawning a tree is given a somewhat random number of logs (maybe between 2 and 50). Say the number is '20'. This means that if one person chops it he will receive 20 logs from that tree but if 2 people chop it they would each only receive 10 (not counting the fact that one person would most likely receive more because of higher wc level, wc hatchet and/or just better luck). If 10 people chop the tree then everybody would only receive 2 logs each and the tree would thus deplete 10 times faster than if only one person were chopping. 2. Upon spawning a tree is given a somewhat random number of seconds which must be spent chopping that tree before it will be depleted (maybe between 5 and 360). Say the number of seconds is '60' or one minute. This means that no matter how many people are chopping the tree, it will always take one minute before being depleted. If one person chops for 20 seconds and another person joins in then 40 seconds will be left. If 10 people start chopping at the same time they will all get however many logs they can obtain within one minute (again, this number would depend on the players wc level, hatchet and pure luck). Say which one you think is right and why or why you think both are wrong and what you think is correct. Also say how big of an advantage or disadvantage it is for multiple people to be chopping the same tree and why.
  24. I think you're right because I experienced something extremely similar. Wearing a RoW, I got nothing but a bronze defender for the first day of fighting (I used at least 500-1000 tokens). Then I spent 5 more days, using at least 500-1000 per day and never got even an iron defender. Finally, in great despair, on the last day of the week I got rid of my RoW and in less than an hour I got all the way up to a rune defender. I don't think it's impossible to get Iron + defenders (at least not anymore - maybe it was back then) while wearing a RoW, though, because plenty of people claim they got while wearing.
  25. Yes I did mean skeleton monkies (and I edited). I get what you're saying but now I'm just looking for someone to actually go and confirm it.
