  1. Yea that's what I figured but they reccomended it on Runescape Wiki so I'm curious if it actually isn't that way. Has anybody actually tried it out?
  2. Normally when you go to Skeleton Monkeys you pick up bones and move them around so you don't have any spawning issues - which is a pain. Would the Bonecrusher (reward from dungeoneering that automatically buries all bones and gives you pray exp when in inventory) do the same job as picking them up and moving them around or would it actually be worse (i.e. make less skeleton monkeys spawn)?
  3. Because most slayer creatures don't have high defence so the extra accuracy from rune defender doesn't do all that much, not to mention you get +15% to attack when wearing black mask. With A DFS you get hit less because of it's amazing defence bonuses, often allowing you to fight with no food at all or with only a bunyip, you get the +7 strength bonus and +10 mage defence bonus, too, whereas rune defenders give +5 strength bonus and -3 mage defence.
  4. Melee - is fine but could be better. - Replace rune defender with DFS - Replace Glory with Fury - Obviously replace Adamant RFD gloves with barrows when you can. - I prefer ring of wealth to warrior ring but that's up to you. Melee with mage defence - needs some improvement - As before, replace Glory with Fury - Replace black d'hide vambs with your RFD gloves - replace snakeskin boots with dragon boots - replace obsidian shield with either rune defender or dfs (when you can afford)
  5. Oh, sweet. Google Wave looks like it's just right for the job - thanks a bunch
  6. Would we have to always stay logged into that, though? I was hoping for something that we could just go to a site and see everybody's messages since we last were on.
  7. Myself and 4 other people need to be able to communicate with each other like a CC but, the problem is, we're never on at the same time. So we need an off-runescape group-chat type thing that would be private to the five of us and that would save all our messages. Does anybody know what would be the best thing for this?
  8. Nachalo Exchanging them for money would obviously have detrimental effects on the economy, as other people have mentioned. It wouldn't be fair to the people who paid hundreds of millions to get rares if now everybody could get them for free. That said, if nothing is done about rares the problem will get greater and greater and their prices will go up and up (as we've seen over this past year). One specific problem is that, because rares are worth more than their market price on GE, RWT could occur (and I'm sure already is) - people who have rares could sell them to people through trade at market price and require real money as payment. The only real solution I see (and I wouldn't be surprised if Jagex did it soon, seeing how out of hand rares are getting and the RWT problem) is to make all the rares untradeable and make it so no more can be obtaned. The people who bought them at high prices would be content because they would get what they paid for and their rares would still keep their sentimental value. Konets
  9. Still not posts? what's wrong? lol

  10. Oh, I didn't know about that. I guess Jagex would have to first make it so that, regardless of what world a player is on on, the chest (or rune rocks etc..) would not respawn until a certain amount of time had passed for that particular player. I don't know how possible or likely of an undertaking that would be for Jagex. Can anybody think of similar things that Jagex has already put in the game that would show it's at least a possibility?
  11. Not really, though. More runite ores would be mined so supply would go up and price down - meaning that people wouldn't make as much profit from it and it would probably be good for economy to have lower runite ore prices. Plus, I'm sure the profit would still not be that great compared to other kinds of money making methods there are these days - probably not more than 500k per hour, right? So it seems kinda dumb that Jagex would make everybody suffer so much just to avoid a few "problems" like these which aren't really all that bad, especially because most of the problems have been fixed by now. @tortillachp - I didn't know you used tip.it forums, have you posted on any of my other posts without my recognizing it was you? :D
  12. I remember I used to run into this problem a lot when I was F2P and looking for empty training spots but not so much these days (so it's not as annoying). Did Jagex implement this to stop botters? If so, Is it really still necessary to make us wait the 40 seconds?
  13. I guess you've forgotten that there are real people behind every rs character - so it is very appropriate to compare to real life. The point is not about being 'too good' to answer random noobs questions as I've said over and over. Read my last post (i think it's on page 8 - i'll put on front page soon). O, please, let's not get into an argument of right or wrong. I don't wanna hear what your dumb teachers are telling you about 'tolerance' in school. If you say 'nothings wrong' then it's nearly impossible to have any sort of argument. So, for argument's sake, let's just assume assume arrogance and lameness are 'bad'. No more on this, please.
  14. :o wow that's amazing. I guess I'm not the only one who thought of it then :). I can't wait till it's out and then I can tell everybody it was my idea (even though it really wasn't, of course, but it very well could have been.)
  15. I see what you mean. If I could do it again I would probably change the topic name to something like 'The ups and downs to having Private Chat set to 'Friends' " but, then again, if it was such a boring name probably very few would respond... Which is sad. I feel like everyone is somehow hooked on this 'helping other people out' idea. With all the fansites that are out today all you really need to do is tell them to go to a fansite or let them figure it out themselves. I think more and more players are aware of how much fansites can help and, in turn, less and less are asking for help in game. I have no problem with people ignoring or simply not responding to these people. Perhaps I made it seem like my main argument was that you should help other people out but that really wasn't it. Here's what I've basically been trying to say: Leaving Private Chat to 'friends' is in my eyes like going to a party and only speaking with friends you know and leaving the rest of the people out. Lets say that at this party there are an equal number of "spammers" and cool people whom you do not know. By setting your P Chat to friends, you'll avoid the spammers (and, granted, lets say that is your only reason for doing it) but the cool people there will get the impression that you consider yourself and your friends above the rest of the people there. This is how I think it is for people who turn off their P Chat only to get rid of spammers - they give a bad impression though they're really not doing it for a bad reason. Now, for the people who go to a party where everybody is cool and there are at most only one or two "spammers" but still hang out only with their friends, they are choosing to not treat the rest as equals even though by doing so they're only avoiding one or two spammers. This is what I think is really lame and arrogant and the case for many players on runescape. I don't have much of a problem with the people mentioned above. I hope this to be a sort of closing or settling post for this topic.
  16. Well of course that could be the case for some people and they could choose to not be notified. Though it could all be put into one email that gets sent to you daily/weekly/monthly which wouldn't be as bad - I think there's currently an option to do it that way with people who have posted on any forums you have (I have it set up something like that). Plus there could just be a 'view responses' button similar to the 'view my posts' button.
  17. Well the incentive is the the same incentive that they have for making adventurers logs - the players enjoy it and so they buy membership. That's true that they're already doing some in-game screenshot stuff so that means they have what it takes to do it so I see that as a good thing. Another thing I just thought of that they could do to make it really cool is they could make runescape profiles that people could see by just going to runescape.com/RUNESCAPENAMEHERE e.g. runescape.com/tedbundty and here people could see your adventure log, forum posts, high scores and screenshots.
  18. That is true about the quoting thing on other post things - it probably happens pretty rarely unless you're really popular on these forums. My main thought though was that if there's a topic with 10 pages of posts and you posted on page 4, you could quickly see if anyone in those 6 pages responded to what you said.
  19. I always thought it would be nice if there was an option (not mandatory) to get a notification from tip.it (whether on here or by email or both) whenever someone quotes you on these forums. This way you would know if someone quoted something you said in a topic you haven't posted in and you wouldn't have to fish through topics that have tons of posts to see if anyone responded to what you said. So I have two questions for you: 1) If you had the choice, would you choose to get notifications whenever someone quotes you? 2) Do you believe it is a possiblity that Tip.it forums could do something like this if they wanted to or is it just something that can't be done?
  20. That would keep people somewhat happy but it doesn't fix the real problem which Jagex really should work on. The problem is that if, for whatever reason, you need to log out (including system updates, lag, or you just need to leave) you lose all your progress (granted you get a small amount of exp) and leave your friends without (often required) help, unless if it's just because of lag since then you can usually quickly rejoin (though you can't if you're soloing which is another huge issue).
  21. If Jagex let us upload pictures to Runescape.com then we could post pictures in the Forums and link people to pictures in game because the pictures would have a Runescape.com link. If Jagex wanted to be a little more strict to ensure no adult or inappropriate pictures were posted gets on the forums, they could do one of two things 1) add an in-game screenshot feature so that there would be no way to post pics of anything except what is on Runescape. 2) Filter through all images before allowing them to be public (if that's possible - I imagine it is). It could be a member's only feature so that people would be encouraged to buy membership. One question before I'm finished: If Jagex made this feature, would you use it? I know I would.
  22. Yes. My response. I really do not think giving out your phone number to random people is comparable to leaving private chat to 'on' for two main reaons: 1) There is no actual threat in leaving P Chat set to 'on' but there is one in giving people your phone number. 2) By turning Private Chat to 'on' you're not giving something out, you're merely not blocking other people who might by chance PM you. A better analogy would be this: to set your phone so that only people already in your contacts can call/text you is like setting private chat to 'friends' - which I'm sure would cause some inconveniences. To set your phone so that everyone can call, regardless of whether their phone number is in your contacts, is like setting private chat to 'on' - yes people whom you don't know could call you for no reason and curse at you but this hardly ever happens and most of the time it will be people calling for a legitimate reason (maybe they changed their phone number or it was just A friend who had your phone number but you didn't have theirs for some reason).
  23. it's a good idea and they already an item in dungeoneering that makes all monsters unagressive - so i definitely see it as a possibility.
  24. That's really more of a problem in public chat than private chat, though.
  25. Don't block Black Demons there actually a really good task (my favorite). If you just use melee with good armor bunyip and super set (enhanced excalibur is a good replacement for super defence pots) you can do the entire task with just a few sharks. The ones in chaos tunnels drop tons more Crimson Charms, too, so its definitely worth killing them there.
