12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
both possibly jagex recently upped the combat levels of the bosses I think they're fine as they are. there's nothing wrong with owning a boss if you're able to dodge all their special attacks afterall. if you're having too easy a time, then stop fishing up fish and making welfare armor those things take time and cut into your dungeoneering time ALOT I don't fish or make armor anymore, and now the bosses are a reasonable challenge. the shadow gazer for example, halves your stats. I failed to dodge his special attack JUST ONCE and it was a death sentence, since I didn't have a stat restore potion on me. it's like Jad. Jad can be easy if you know how to prevent all his attacks same goes for the bosses if you can evade all their special attacks then by all means, it was probably meant to be easy for you.

I wonder if it could be Dragonkin themselves? Maybe even the solid body form of Zamorak? As he isn't allowed to have any effect on the world, he may have hidden himself away? Dragon Dragons Portal to the maharajat home plane of existence (hence all the portals talked about in the notes) There really is nothing to go on at the moment except that whatever it is is powerful enough to create rifts between dimensions in which monsters have been able to travel through. I'm 100% positive it's the dragon kin themselves the ring of KINship The ring of kinship is highly resistant to fire, similar to the dragonkin ring. Perhaps someone should try using it on a mithril dragon =D? Bilrach describes the daemonheim statues as looking like the dragonkin There are dragons in the dungeon Bilrach seems to have an obsession with the dragonkin Bilrach describes the kin as "guardians of the artefact" and the "enders of the great war"

What nonsense. What utter nonsense. Does summoning not serve only to aid other skills? Do people not choose to train their combat with slayer? And is FIREMAKING really a skill, and this isn't? Oh yes, and the "best" thing to say about this skill isn't that you get exp in other skills, it's that unlike all other skills, this one is actually fun. Maybe not to you, but certainly to anyone who likes doing other things besides the same menial tasks over and over again. Oh and I wouldn't call the equipment you get from this skill "useless" either. Far too expensive now, perhaps, but Jagex said they are currently re-balancing the costs. what qeltar's trying to say is that higher dungeoneering level doesn't actually make you feel like a better dungeon raider Dungeoneering only really affects the minigame in 2 ways the # of items you can bind (which is fairly limited) and the floors you can go to (which ultimately may or may not make you feel like a better dungeoneer) Regardless of your dungeoneering level, you're gonna have just as hard a time raiding dungeon floor 1 at lvl 50 dungeoneering, as lvl 99 ignoring your stats rising in other skills and what not. at least that's what I think he's saying. I honestly wouldnt mind if dungeoneering had more intermitten perks like lvl 70 - spawn with 10 salve eels lvl 40 - spawn with 3000 gold coins lvl 30 - spawn with a gatestone i don't know. Jagex deliberately limited it so that players would still need to engage in the looting aspect of the game but they definitely could have added more perks to the skill.

I didn't get that info from anywhere. I was humoring the possibility that there are certain drops that can ONLY be acquired in teams.

Dungeoneering XP data
I've trimmed down the xp I'm looking for for players who go in teams could both players report the #'s in boxes C and D for each floor they went on? thanks!

Well assuming there are 80 floors. there's a dungeoneering batch 2 coming that and the journals hint at there being 5 Demon generals, and only 3 have been released I think it's fairly obvious that more floors are coming. as for another dungeon, yeah I didn't account for that, that's too out there. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make though.

I did 3 runs DUO friend had 17 prestige, I had 28 prestige I *always* received exactly 2.452x more prestige xp than him So performance within the dungeon does not seem to factor into the prestige multiplier combat level of the two players or other factors aside from your prestige rating may affect it , but actions within the dungeon have 0 effect. I'm still inclined to believed that prestige xp scales exponentially But I don't have enough data to make a claim on how exactly it does this. Anyways with some extrapolation, I'm expecting a 40k xp/hour rate at lvl 80 or something along those lines.

they'll help extremely much because if a player never plays dungeoneering but through tears/genie lamps/penguin points gets his dungeoneering to lvl 50 he can power his way through to lvl 25 prestige, and start earning 15k+ xp/hour right off the bat instead of having to start off with 1k xp/hour the same logic applies at higher levels, but is less apparent
-
12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
I've been getting 15k xp/hour duo @ lvl 58 so far, with 45k xp in other skills on the side there is some hope, but I think dungeoneering was meant to be a skill like Slayer in that it levels up other skills at the same time. granted lvl 120 for true skill mastery is a little ridiculous.

That stupid Chase the Ferret puzzle in Dungeoneering
you need to hide behind a wall where the ferret cant see you, and dash out and catch him this doesn't work for all of the ferret's resting positions though, as some have too far a running distance from the nearest hiding spot but this is essentially the only way in solo, w/o getting lucky.

These are not the only factors that determine exp. For instance, if one of you is a much higher combat level, the exp differences could be huge (up to 60% loss), if one of you gets the easy titles that only one can have (battle-mage, sharp shooter, berserk, master chef, etc) then that person should also be getting a lot more exp. If one of you is raiding a floor that had already been raided by you before pressing the 'reset' button, that's also a factor for low exp, and these are just the ones I know of. Yes, but I didn't see any obvious factors. her combat level was higher, she was getting all the titles, and we were both doing floors that were unchecked. what other factors could there be?

Anyone found a slayer monster in Daemonheim?
They sell for a lot of money at the smuggler... So it might not be a typo. Never cared to check, since it was dropped by such a low monster. they are typos, i've equipped hailstones and frostbites before. you said you got a protector's ward today? does it have the accuracy bonuses?

Anyone found a slayer monster in Daemonheim?
frostbite + hailstorm daggers are both typoes flameburst defender is also a typo on that page i've seen tons of night spiders If i knew they dropped epic loot, i woulda killed more... Blood necklace must also be a typo, seeker amulet likewise. the healing ability seems useful, but ultimately you'll want plate armor for tanking and taking on bosses more I won't bind that. hexhunter bow increases your damage based on your target's magic accuracy, or magic strength, whichever is higher. That is absolutely epic against bosses. Imagine a team of 5 players, on max difficulty, all with hexhunters Since pretty much all bosses use magic, save rammernauts and such, this would simply rip them to shreds.

I duo'ed @ lvl 56-57 dungeoneering I had 28 prestige with friend who was 46-49 dungeoneering my friend should have had 23 prestige but i was gaining 1.5x more xp per boss i was getting ~5500 xp per floor friend was getting ~3300 xp for the same floor and she got MVP every floor if that makes any difference I hope that's an indication of nonlinear progression. +5 prestige = 1.5x more xp? =\ one can hope
