Biggest negative modifiers to melee attack?
flowers give -50 to crush berserker necklace gives -10 to crush toss in an archer helm for -5 and you have -65 crush atk bonnus that should be low enough that you will never hit.

well steel dragons have ruby eyeballs... *heh* my bet is on jagex being unoriginal and creating a new dungeon with sapphire/emerald/ruby dragons, and leaving out diamond ones for some future date :D

Dungeoneering - Team vs Solo
1. not necessarily, you might get lucky and not run into puzzles that require the entire team. 2. always use complexity 6 unless your rushing for prestige. most people can get into complexity 6, maybe you're looking for the wrong places. 3. a good team should earn 2-4 times as much as a solo, done perfectly. if a teammate does nothing, i think they still get the full xp, they just get a bad medal at the end. just find good teammates, and stick with them it sounds like you're picking random stragglers from the lobby.

what? i get like 135 xp per salve eel 153 xp per blue crab and those 2 both fish at a rate comparable to fly fishing. at lower levels, yes the xp is horrible. but fishing tier 8+ fish is great xp

What's best weapon to use for High level in Dungeoneering?
Yes but i still believe that this makes it more a minigame than a skill. However that has nothing to do with the original question. then why did you bring it up :wall:

I wonder, do you think chopping wood works the same way as mining rocks? there are times where I only get a single log from a tree afterall, and other times where I get multiple. I think there's a chance that the game just isnt showing us the "you accidentally destroyed a log" message.

I don't think spear is ever a great choice over a longsword... are you going by runescape standards? because weapons in dungeoneering work differently than in the rest of runescape.

Cooking Question
Can anyone confirm this? The added time to bank would be worth it if it means significantly less food burned. Most players will want to stick with shorter run distance. very few players make a low enough income such that they would be justified to use the lumbridge range, even if it's better.

Should Jagex make a rule that forbids price manipulation aka "Merchant clans"?
no reason to sacrifice personal profits to take a jab at merchant clans, there's more than one way to do that Some of the richest solo merchants I know make half their money by undercutting merchant clans

Should Jagex make a rule that forbids price manipulation aka "Merchant clans"?
that wouldn't be "helping" the economy. all it does it is benefit essence miners, at your personal harm and the harm of all essence buyers that would be creating a false demand, and it is 100% unhealthy. Rules of thumb: if you're doing the economy a favor, you're probably making a profit. if you're making a profit, it doesn't necessarily mean you're doing the economy a favor. if you're making a loss, it almost always means you're doing the economy is a disservice.

Possible problems with the way Dungeoneering works
Who do you think dungeoneering targets? high level skillers ready to apply their skills? low levels who would otherwise have poor gear and equipment in normal runescape? compared to the total amount of GWD gear in the game, the amount flowing in and out is relatively small. a massive hit to the total demand for such gear would be noticeable. it won't hit consumables nearly as hard, if at all. Sure people using up those resources are drained out, but so are the people producing them. question is whether dungeoneering drains more consumers than producers.

I actually agree with this. Runescape just doesn't have the support features to make it any less than clumsy when playing with groups of people, especially groups of strangers. I mean, I guess if the only game you have ever played is Runescape, then the group play would seem alright. But comparing RS to other games, the most user friendly parts of the game are just when you sit back, skill, and have a chat with friends. If the only way to play Dung was in groups, then I would have a much different attitude toward the skill. Honestly I wish jagex would have made solo play the most efficient way to train this skill, RS fails at teamwork. oh well, survival of the fittest.

Getting a full bank fast
May I recommend this method? all other methods mentioned work well, but this + poh books are my personal favorite with books you can just spam your left mouse to fill you inventory with 28 books near instantly costume room method lets you both withdraw AND deposit 3-8 items at a time with just like 2-5 clicks. I'd hate to see this method get overlooked.

No new skills

Even when you're prepared, those level 515 bosses are still going to wump your [wagon]. Question time for all of you Level 50 Dungeoneers out there (and even those without it can still provide their imput); what do you think is the combination of bound items that is the most effective? I've seen these so far: Longsword-Maul/2h, Dagger/Rapier-2h, Rapier/Spear-Bow, Weapon-Platebody, Weapon-Staff, and Battleaxe-Warhammer; all used effectively by their users. I personally run the Weapon, a two-hander to be more precise, and Platebody combination, both Tier 9. The platebody provides more than 190 defense in Stab and similiar stats in others, which is enough alone to block most damage from the normal creatures and even the weaker boss attacks with good use of Protect from magic. The 2h is slow, but provides very reliable and accurate hits against even some of the higher leveled forgotten warriors, in addition to having a powerful Crush attack essential in these dungeons. I'm curious to see what you all use. platebody and spear My friend's received a primal rapier and dagger, and she's destroyed both of them in favor of a promethium spear. So I'll take her word for it on the spear. As for the platebody, it just saves you sooo much time making armor later on. Hell I tackle all solo and most duo bosses with just a plaetbody now. the fact that it saves you the trouble of making armor is just priceless. Good armor early on as well, also priceless.

ever since i saw this picture on zybez I've been scrambling to assemble a 4-5 man team... apparently as of now 4-5 man teams are by far the best xp/rate I ran into a bunch of lvl 70-75 dungeoneerers in a 5 man team claiming to be earning over 40k xp/hour <_< ugh... *drool*

You've got to finish floor 17 before you can access floor 18.. (and yes this makes at low levels almost no sense: you'll get much faster levels than you can compete floors) For this skill, your skill level should just be ignored completely! If you look closely you can see I have already completed floor 17 It's probably a bug but I'd try to finish the unfinished floors to see if that caused it. did you finish 17 when you had lvl 37+ dungeoneering? or did you finish it earlier than get 37+ dungeoneering afterwards

Prestige Explained
if you skipped every ice level, it would essentially cut your prestige xp rate by a factor of 1.5x to 2.5x :)

The hardest boss in Runescape
gatestone teleport is your friend :) you can teleport even if you're stunned. You can teleport even if you just drank a potion too I believe, not sure about that one =D.

The race to 120.....
Is that soloing or in a team? probably team (and probably duo) solo isn't great xp at all from personal experience. If other players are already getting 30-35k xp/hour, I don't think 75-100k xp/hour would be too hard to imagine once the remaining floors are released.

12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
not all the bosses have been released yet. dungeoneering batch 2 is coming, until then, primal spears/platebodies do not exist in game. (well unless those primal wielding forgotten warriors can actually drop them, i have my doubts)

Waterfiends and Defense
your fault for getting 99 strength before 99 atk + def :) I know plenty of players that plan ahead, you should have. other than training with a z-spear on controlled, you don't exactly have many options. now it's time to suffer the consequences.
