The Back Room
If we're talking about preferred medieval weapons; I think I'll take the bill hook. [hide][/hide] Now, you may ask "why" as to why would I take such a silly looking weapon. Well the answer being that it A: Has a cutting surface which allows me to chop like an ax giving it utility against your average un-armored peasant or the occasional armored horseman's un armored horse. B: Has a point which can be used against armored opponents (let's see a sword poke through plate armor [though it would probably be a better idea to use the ax blade aside from against charging cavalry) C: Has a hook that allows me to trip and or maneuver enemies using their own armor ex: pull someone off of a horse, or simply trip them with said hook or possibly even trip their horse. D: Comes on a 5-8' pole which may or may not cut out some of the danger of close combat (or at the very least let me wound the guy coming at me before he gets to me). Oh and if I can I will take an arming sword as well [hide][/hide] for when I have to get into close combat.

Ah yes I have Sc2 (well if it will let me play without patching the damned thing). What I was thinking of getting was possibly fallout 3 and Mass effect 2 (among some other games).

And that Kiddies is why cocaine caffeine is not substitute for sleep. Right then, sorry about that :wall: . On a game related note, is steampunk going to be an integral part of the game or just an option?

I'm not sure if Brazil is an option (It should be due to the whole PD at 1850). I guess you would have to ask Spork about it.

Nah Germany should be a helpful NPC, In any rate you probably don't want to be caught in a two front war at the very begining of the game. Also you get to crush fight the confederate states of America (have fun with that).

Heh I think I'll take Austria-Hungary (whee most likely the first person to get destroyed).

It's honestly not as bad as it could be, as things you find on the internet (or in certain museums) go. I think I saw something like it in the Mütter Museum (I believe it was close to the exhibit about conjoined twins or something of the like).

I don't have any drugs as far as I know, but Greece was the very deffinition of luxury with abundancy of grapes (and as thus wine), olives, marble. I guess I'll send a combination of those then. Well you have mandrake root (which was used as an opiate) as well as poppies (and you do know what drug comes from poppies correct?)

Well one way to discourage rampant expansion would be to make rebellions something that actually happens (So when you steamroll africa half of the continent rises up in rebellion against your army). You could offer positive and negative modifiers as to how likely a rebellion was to kindle due to certain factors like religion [hide][/hide] language [hide]][/hide] or a host of other factors like how their old government was set up, how much say you give them in local affairs and how violently you took control of the country (though secret police and a general sense of fear could keep the rebellions down for a time). Honestly it's just my two cents about the matter. Hell you could also have neighboring NPC's allying against you to preserve their freedom or having larger NPC's tell you to cut that [cabbage] out and attacking your gains. EDIT: Oh and here's the list of ethnic groups in africa [hide][/hide] EDIT: Was it just me or is facebook checking the tavern out?

Wine or some other luxury item would be nice. (Give me a second I need to find out what opiates/hallucinogens were around at this time period (that were transportable))

Well we could try another arena style thing (but I think we all remember how that worked out). So what do you suggest? Some sort of free-form rp with a "Don't act like an arse clause"?

Dungeoneering Again
Yeah, the alignment bit was basically about the D&D type of alignment which has a lawful vs chaotic axis as well as a good vs evil axis (with neutral in between law and chaos as well as good and evil). Good is basically defined as altruistic whilst evil is selfish. Law is generally defined as a regard for valid authority whilst chaos is a disregard. Obviously this is all open to interpretation and someone will argue the point ,but this is just to give you an idea of what this means. That being said as every alignment is open to many interpretations it doesn't really matter. Now onto the actual question as to ross: Are we going to do a Vancian style system (A la D&D) where we can make up our own spells (but not on the fly) or the dungeoneering style as to magic?

Help & Introductions
Hello, I'm Grim (formerly grimdeath283). While it appears I am not all too active, I simply don't post when it is unnecessary ,however I will play just about anything. If you have any questions about the game that is currently being played or possibly need some rule book (if we are playing a more structured game) you should PM me. Tl;dr If you have a question about rules or need an rule book PM me.
