You seriously need proof of this? Ask anyone, watching your character bob up and down over a fishing spot with minimal interaction from you for 200 hours is anything but fun. There may be a select few who like it, but they are few and far between, and quite frankly i doubt thats the fun talking. We are arguing it because people want it. Hard requirements and soft requirements. A challenging boss would remove and hope of completeing it with 60 stats, but with resourcefulness and simply being good at the same, you may be able to beat it with lower than reccomended stats. A 200 hour grind requirement however... Well theres no alternative outside grinding that skill for 200 hours. Irrelevant and very little to do with quests. A slightly cooler cape is hardly "content" in the same way that quests are. Why? Why should a 94 magic requirement be thrown in for the sake of exclusivity. Magic is generally funner and faster to train than fishing. But the fact is that it would NOTHING to the quest for ice barrage to work and ice burst to not work.

Godswords- Outdated?
Bug abuse ehy... He's probably referring to the eat right before damage calculation thing. Not sure if that's bug abuse, though I'm not really sure about it, but it's been there for more than 2 years now- if you eat the right way, one claw spec always fails on you. Kings ransom has alot to do with the whip being better than the godsword. Eat the right way? By fail do you mean the damage numbers don't pop up or what.

Who cares about weather or not it makes sense (and it doesnt make sense to have to catch over 100 thousand fish just to please a king with some magical fish), this is a game, you play for fun. Whether or not it makes sense shouldn't be the major issue here seeing as runescape generally doesn't make sense anyway. Having fun should be paramount, not 200 hours of grind just for the game to make "sense".

I never said there should be no skill requirements, but excessive skill requirements which need insane amounts of grind does anything but improve the game.

People tend to just parse words once they run out of actual arguments. If you see a "rebuttle" like that, it generally means you've won. I'll keep that in mind

Really? Ive never had a pin for ages so i wouldn't know. They aren't dictating us, but at the same time, they ARE a problem. And you can't blame people for reporting bots.

I'm opposing excessive grind, not specifically 90+ requirements. I thought that was obvious at this point. Of course, 97 fishing was just an random example. I'm opposing the grind, not the specific requirement. As i said before...

Really cause i would notice mine. Plus, theres no reason you shouldnt be in lobby if your just "glancing at the screen" every now and then. If you wan't to talk to your friends, you can do it in the lobby. They probably added that function especially for people like you. Because i don't want you to be falsely reported for botlike behaviour despite the fact that its easily preventable? You best be trollin boy...

How is this relevant. The grind is not fun, and this is a game, with the purpose being to have fun. Some grind is not bad, and doesn't detract from the fun. But encouraging 100-200+ hours of watching your character bob up and down over a fishing spot cannot be considered fun by anyones measure. Did i ever say that? I wan't quests to be hard, fun, etc. Quests should be hard and i am fine with that, they should not have insane requirements. Again, im fine with that. But anything into the 90's is way excessive. And encouraging 200+ hours of grind which is anything but fun especially in some of the more boring skills. I want quests that don't require excessive requirements to finish. I acknowledge that runescape has one of the best quests ive ever come across, MMO-wise. But 90+ grind requirements would really detract from the fun. But the real question is why? This is a game, we all obviously play to have fun. Do random 90+ arbitary quest requirements actually add to the fun in anyway? Do they prolong the fun in anyway? Do they do anything positive for the game other than making the high levels feel special about themselves for about 5 seconds? Of course not, so why should there be such excessive requirements for quests. Questers who want to have fun should be able to have fun questing without excessive grind. ------------------------- I guess the main argument comes down as to weather you think grandmaster quests should have random arbitary 100-200+ hour grind requirements just for the sake of exclusivity. I don't think so, you people obviously do.

Going from 70 to 90 is not building up to it. Yeah . . . obviously. What's your point? My point was 1 line below. You lost me as soon as you compared a game to real life. You have fun in a game. Life is just... life.

Bots are making a come-back
Your reading skills need toning up on. Theres no way you can make even 100 mill doing greens for 15 minutes a day. I don't rage at bots, i think they are a problem. Is it suddenly wrong to actually not like bots?, i assure you, though we both have similar points of view, i am in no way related to bot_slayer_hunter_sword. In the same way that your not a bot, just because you support bots.

Ive responded to all your posts as normal, im pretty sure your just raging. So you should be able to respond to people, because you actually are looking at the screen. Theres no reason you should be logged into the game if you are going "afk", while at the same time you want to keep yourself logged in and not respond to the world around you. Theres the lobby if you want to go afk, and if you don't want to use it, its your problem when someone falsely reports you for bot-like behaviour.

No, the argument is we shouldn't be compelled into a 200 hour grind just because we like quests, which is actually a fun part of the game. And the other argument, you don't need "elite" (really, if you consider 200 hours of grind elite...) requirements, in order to have elite content. Really, your just throwing in arbitrary requirements for the sake of exclusivity. Going from 70 to 90 is not building up to it. You and all the other high levels constantly complain about no high requirements, they havent got to that point yet, and i sincerely hope they never get to that point. Wheres the notion that you should have to grind 200 hours to enjoy the fun parts of the game. A little grind is fine, 200 hours of hardcore fishing grind is not fun. As this guy who i don't know said.

When did i ever imply quests should be easy. Not to mention requirements wont make a quest ANY HARDER. A hard quest makes a hard quest, hard requirements make a hard grind. Achievement diarys are completely different. Running around lighting fires is not content, or not content anyone should care about outside the reward. A hard grandmaster quest IS content. An avid quester should not be compelled to grind fishing for 200 hours for an arbitary quest requirement, thats the bottom line. Unless, as someone else said. They slowly, and i mean slowly move up. It wouldn't be too bad. EG, 70 fishing, then 73, then 80, then 85, then 90, then 91 92 93 94 95, 96, and then quests that need 97. So there is constant content along the way to 97 fishing without it being a 200 hour grindfest for a single quest requirement. (really, past 90 levels are so apart anything past 2 levels is a grind). Thats because you are forced to be well rounded in skills you may not even enjoy, in order to do quests that you do enjoy. Hardly a legitimate argument. "Its just the way it is" is no justification for something bad. Nonetheless, as i said. I'm generally speaking, relatively fine with current requirements. But anything thats past the 90's turns a game into a grind.

Throwing in arbitary quest requirements just so high levels can feel special sounds like a bunch of sour grapes to me. Theres no reason that magic fish couldnt be caught with 60 fishing. The fishing requirement is just there to make the quest "exclusive" and force people to grind for 100 hours if they want to do a quest. Anything past 90 is way excessive for the average player. A quest lover should be able to quests without excessive grinding. If jagex threw in a level 97 quest requirement, the quest lover would have to excessively grind. The grinding is there for those who want it, you can grind your way to 97 fishing all you want. But don't try and push your grind onto other players.

Oh is it suddenly wrong to not want to grind fishing for 200 hours? I hope you remember that you're playing a game. I am being positive, im trying to improve this game. Or at least stop it from going in the complete wrong direction. Your the one being negative by trying to make this game worse.

Yea... His problem, not mine. NEVER SAID IT WAS YOURS. Read what I said. YOU GUYS. Meaning this thread in general, but not each poster specifically. If it doesn't apply to you, move on. I was trying to hint at it, but damn... Jus can't let go... Seeing as i wasen't really trying to provoke any further argument as should have been evidenced by the post. I was, as you would say "letting it go". If anything your the one raging here. Well, you shouldn't go AFK while purposely keeping yourself logged in for over 10 minutes while simultaneously not looking at the screen so you can't actually talk. Better yet, just go to the lobby like any other sane player. No matter how you spin it, going AFK is very botlike behaviour that normal players shouldnt and wouldnt replicate. And its the only easy way of seeing if someone is a bot outside of following them for 5 minutes.

I don't assume that, some people may have built them up very, Very, VERY slowly over the years while genuinely having fun. What i DO know is that if a quest came out with a 97 fishing requirement. Its encouraging people to grind LRC for 200 hours to get there. And if anyone wants to do the quest, and doesnt have the requirement, he would be HAVE to grind there. This is especially true with 90+ requirements which literally take hundreds of hours to get. And especially especially true with fishing, which is one of the boringest and slowest skills in the game alongside mining/rc/agi.

That hard of a counter? With any spec weapon, AGS included, you should never be using it on its own. With a spec weapon in tow, not only does your DPS suck, but EVERYONE knows a spec can come at any time with no warning, and safes accordingly.

So, requirements should be chucked in just for the sake of exclusivity while adding nothing to the actual content. I'm fine with skills being rewarded in quests, as i have already stated. But anything with a 90+ quest requirement is an excessive grind with no reason for being there outside making it exclusive to high level grinders. Plus, skills with ELITE CONTENT, do reward people who have high levels, but its not a hard-grind requirement that adds nothing. You won't see level 3's beating up nomad regardless of quest requirements. Fine, as long as it doesnt go to extremely high grind levels such as the 80's and 90's. Also, wouldn't it make just as much "sense" if your friend could assist you in mining through the obstacle? If this ever happens you should be able to assist quest requirements.

So incredibly excessive requirements should just be slapped on JUST for the sake of exclusivity. I know you deny it, but seriously. There is NO REASON outside exclusivity, that there should be excessive requirements. Considering that it won't actually improve the quest or content in any way, shape, or form. Some of the rewards on the other hand could have big requirements and i wouldnt mind, like in all fired up. Elite quests should have elite content, it should not have "elite" requirements just so people can feel special, there are skillcapes for that.
