  1. Your own personal viewpoint is that the dbow is a good risk because you can make the money for an easy replacement. Originally we were discussing inflation and how items like the dbow haven't actually gone up in terms of relative earnings, assuming players are making more money than they once did (debatable point in itself). Well d bow hasent gone up in relative earnings because of lack of demand. Thats what ive been saying all along, its been going down in price. Abby whip on the other hand has, being ~1 mill a year or so ago and being 3+ mill now if im not mistaken. With demand staying relativly the same. Infact, if anything, with dungeoneering whip should have gone down, but its still "Rised" in price. Yea, demand has fallen, its worth less, despite it being technically the same price. And yes, its been around the 1 mill mark for years. Aside from the occational spike most things have. Money making in general has gone up. Aside from aforementioned raw material prices. Theres people who can make ~4 mill an hour, a few years ago even 1 mill consistently per hour was considered great.
  2. Yea those are always fun. The poster makes the post. If the post is stupid, its the posters fault.
  3. Yea it makes me feel bad when i team with 2 level 120+'s who are great rushers, and yet i get more XP than they do despite being level 50 or whatever.
  4. Actually for the past year, or even two, its been around the 800k-1.2 mill mark. Though only recently (since i got back into this game), have i been willing to risk dark bows in PVP. Simply because money is easier to get now, while a couple of years ago 1-2 mill would take me a couple of days, maybe even a week to get back. What do you think i said? I said d bow has technically gone down while still technically being the same price. I never said the bow would rise to a higher price. When did i say otherwise? I think youve totally misunderstood half my posts. What exactly are you trying to say here? ------------------------------------------- What im saying is that inflation isnt a problem. If the market suddenly rose and most items doubled or even tripled in price, not much would happen. People wouldn't suddenly throw up there fists and protest the injustice of weapons being so expensive. The price of the weapons would, in turn, mean other money making methods would also increase in efficiency, thus making the weapons more affordable.
  5. That's against the rules as 1 input must equal 1 output, btw. Just saying so you know  Actually the mouse keys double click is allowed.
  6. The rules are lax so you don't even have to attempt to toe the line. Just jump across it and hope it all goes well. It generally works for half the posters in these forums. (Including me) Short of throwing an insult in every second line of conversation and then swearing at the admins for deleting your posts, while making topics with your alternate accounts about how bad these forums are i'm pretty sure people get bored of it before they get banned.
  7. Rares until there's maybe 50 mill left. Merch with the rest while pking
  8. Arrogant trolls should have over 1300+ total level. OT: Crashing for a limited resource is fine. Crashing "for lols" is just stupid. How is it arrogant? I've come to accept that this game has competition involved, and that each player has been crashed, or has been the crasher, at some point in there RS lives. Its simply the way the game works. Most skills, and combat, work on "limited" resources. -------------------- Also i love how you picked on total level, having an opinion has no level requirement. One shouldn't have to waste ones life away on useless 99's in order to have an opinion on the game.
  9. On both my pures, i did the quest in a matter of minutes when some random walked up to me in varrock and asked "have you done shield of arrav". Unless you NEED the quest as a requirement, just wait, sooner or later someone will want to do the quest.
  10. I never said it indicates inflation... I just said that its an example of why inflation doesn't matter. Its the same price as it has always been, but is now more accessible than ever. Because the relative price of other objects as risen, thus making it easier to afford such a weapon. The only problem is the stagnation of raw material prices in comparison to weapon prices, which make skills all the crappier for moneymaking.
  11. I'm pretty sure only sigil is likely to be coinshared. And anyone who owns the shield isnt that stupid (or are they?).
  12. Thieving, cost nothing Cooking, cost 5-10 mill. Construction, cost... alot...
  13. 58? How did that happen, and what were you before o.O
  14. Its like crashing someone in runescape. In other words, [cabbage] happens.
  15. Water is the best... But even thats crappy.
  16. Apparently its MTK or you may as well be hoping for a visage.
  17. I personally always have most of my money in cash, aside from the ~30% which is used daily for flipping, it would be more but being F2p at the moment has limits which make it hard to utilize all my money, (2 ge slots, lack of expensive items). I only really ever use 15-20 mill of my 50. I could do a long term investment to suck up the rest of my cash in the hope of a rise, but i don't trust long term item hogging because im always scared of items crashing down due to updates and the like (EG, what stiles did to lobsters).
  18. Remember when it was worth quite a few mill and that wasn't all that long ago. Plus you checked the 180 days on the G.E charts lately on it? Steady dip. How does making money more easily affect the price when the demand affects the price? According to 'inflation' it should have increased relatively in price. Demand has dropped as the bow's become more common. I'm saying that even with inflation, it wouldn't matter. Inflation is inflation, but it also means people can get more out of there money, and means that even if something which is formerly 5 mill raises to 10 mill, if 10 mill is easier to get in this day and age, then people can and will buy it Dark bow has had a STEADY dip, but is only a few hundred K less than it was a year or so ago. What has changed is the earning power of the average player, which makes dark bow almost a throwaway item despite the fact its price has been steady. If everything raised by 10 times, it wouldn't matter because it means i would get 10 times more out of the drops i get, which in turn means that, relatively, the price on items are all the same. Except for store brought items like runes...
  19. tbh free trade is more realistic then automatic dropping coming back. That would make things too easy If dropping is the only thing making a skill hard i think its the skill that needs fixing.
  20. Yeah I'm making about 600k a day with 8m start up money. And in F2P, that kind of money goes a long way. What sort of stuff do you flip? I don't need your exact items, but a general theme would be nice. I was a doing pretty well before this summer, but over the summer I invested in 1M gold ores (thought smithing update would be in summer) while I took 4 months off for work/sports and that tanked. Since then I've tried other ores, but they just go the same route. Stable until I buy them, then just fall. TT items. 500k+ a day shouldn't be TOO hard, ive never made a significant loss on those. Raw materials seem a little riskier for me, but ive made more than a mill a day on those.
  21. Dark bow has been around 1 mill for ages. But thats the thing, its TECHNICALLY been the same price, but its actually gone down in price due to people making money more easily than before.
  22. Its pretty easy once you get into the rhythm. And it makes the rest of your runescape life so much easier, i haven't had to grind for money in ages.
  23. They were a failed hybriding weapon, but as far as im concerned, its never been used for that purpose.
  24. No one brought bronze knives anyway... I'm suprised they ever sold.
