I'll start campaign on Heroic for the first run through before I try to get the achievement I want most - 'God's Must Be Strong' + 'Monument To All Your Sins'" Soooooooo I'm now currently on like the 6/7th mission or so.... i forgot which, and it's already better than i expected. ANYONE WHO HASN'T GOT IT, GO BUY IT......... NOW! it is really really amazing..... Had my first massive "noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" moment at the end of mission 5 (?) after all the flying and stuffs. Long way to go for the finish! :D "Spartans never die. They just go missing in action!" ;) love that quote from the trailer and opening scene so much <3

:P haha that's what we've been doing.... but I guess it would be better if we did tighten up a few nuts and bolts to this already quite well oiled machine. In the end Octarine and I would like Chaotic Rapiers (me especially for my slayer) which is why we're asking questions :) We do do the dung's for fun though, makes a nice break from RS.

It used to be a waste because the floors only went up to 69 dungeoneering. You'll actually get tokens faster if you can do more floors, so spending penguin points and lamps on dungeoneering isn't a bad idea anymore. I have 3 and a half million exp till I get one of the 99's I've wanted since I started playing RS about 2/3 years ago. So would it really be worth it to stop my 38,000 exp a week from pengs and put it on dung? If so, till I hit what level?

Haha! :P Anyways, miracleman58 - I don't currently use pengs on dung because I feel it could be used else where :P Especially smithing where it'll save me ~40 or so platebodies worth of smithing as I'm now 287K from 96 thanks for effigys and getting 38,000exp a week from pengs. So unless you wish to donate money to my cause (even though i get a nice MTK pay out each week) then I'll probably keep them on Smithing and Slayer :3 Oooooor, unless you show me the benefits of (what is my eyes) wasting my points on a glorified minigame that truly has no place in Runescape. Slayer_Jesse - Yeah already do them. Got me up to 42 quickly :) 231exp from next level, which should be easy tonight. And I'll grab the 45 resource dungeon when I can.

A 229 Spirit Mage task? Just wondering really..... Will be wearing: FSH Fury Prosy Top Ardy Cape 2/Fire Cape Prosy Bottom D Boots Barrow Gloves Sara Sword (Training strength to 90 now attack is there) Zammy Arrow in quiver. So with that I'm just wondering how many prayer pots I'd need with a holy wrench to get through all these. ALSO would it be worth taking a familiar of any kind? Though mages die really quickly.....

Right now a few days ago i made a topic about raising my magic level by slayer.... However, after further looking into it, I found that it would be insanely expensive...... Soooooooo TIF what do you advise me to do? I can't stand alching, but what about humidify? Or would I hate that more? What exactly do I do with humidify? Do I withdraw all vials, cast spell, rinse and repeat? In which case.... Do I cast 1 spell per invo, or would I end up casting 26 spells? And then again, so I get 65 exp for the whole invo? Or 65 exp per vial filled? D: Questions questions! Because I know at 80 I'll probably end up stringing jewellery till I hit 99 when I get the money.

Exactly. If you still PK then leave the defence. But with your strength and attack being pretty high I can see Defence levels rolling in. Also personally I'm biased as I have the 99 <3:

They do seem weak, it's just HP that takes forever to get down.... Even cannoning. I generally used a whip and defender, super set, can't be bothered pietying as I'm cannoning, and then have monkfish in invo, but used a bunyip. Now I've got a unicorn, I've only got 8 monks and the pony. Anyways yeah. They're a long task though at times. But 128 probably wont be too bad. I'll give crush a try, giving me a nice little boost to my goal of 87 or so strength by the end of this month. Which would be quicker though? Piety or cannon?

Well i'm the kind of person who see's any and all tasks in terms of exp..... Though I just blocked Kalphites as they're a money sink. However thanks for that tip on crush. I'll probably use SS instead of ZS though. Although I need 130K exp for my attack level, I'd rather get single way exp than controlled into 99 defence :P

Normally I wouldn't have a problem with this task. I would wear my torags and veracs with FSH etc, y'know general slayer stuff. Take 2 unis, loads of scrolls, and my cannon. However, I have some questions. A. Which style is best? Slash or what? B. Should I block them?

Of which 99 defence will more than make up for therefore making it adviseable to wear something high in mage def ;) Tbh the setup a friend and I have chosen for testing out duo-ing is one that "Baconisbacon"/Quagsire has told me about: Neitz Fury Karils Top Bandos Tassets/V Skirt SW Cape/Ardy Cape 3 D Boots Barrow Gloves Whip Defender He also told me that DFS/higher defence shield would be better though because he mostly FFA's and does short trips instead of long camping. OK you can't use a unicorn. So that'll make your life a little bit more difficult but.... if I understand right your invo could look something like: Hammer 1 Click tele War Tort Pouch (incase already summoned tort dies) Spec Weapon 2 Super Attacks 2 Super defences 3 sara brews 3 Sup restores Sharks Tort with sharks. Don't forget it could change tactics and set up etc if you're tanking.

I kinda agree with this post (all but the fire cape comments ;)) I, myself, have an untrimmed defence skill cape that I love to bits and wear it on most of my slayer tasks. At christmas time I will be getting a smithing cape when I reach 99 because it is my favourite skill. People go for 99's because they want them. A 99 takes time and patience. Personal choice, not respect for a cape, is what drives people. If I bump into Blood I will say "nice skillcape" because it is. No matter how many thousands of HP capes I have seen, same for herby and for smithing, and prayer, and every other skill cape you and think of. It is still an achievement that people get kudo's for. Maybe just because someone didn't like yours (if you have one) doesn't mean other people don't like theirs ;) However if you want Kudo's and respect so much for it, go get 99/120 Dung.... That'll give you plenty of respect for the time being anyways. I can't be bothered getting a 99, so why not go and get one then come back eh Undo? With regards to the last point, you stand out just as much with a fire cape and SW cape as you do with a skill cape. Perhaps a TINY bit more so. I adore my fire cape and it's the reason I ALWAYS wear a RoL. However it is pretty much obselete. Tonight I have started a nech task which I'm pietying using an Ardy Cape 2 because it has better prayer. SW cape beats FC too. With 99 defence anyways there is no noticeable difference for me between my skill cape or fire cape.

Yeah he doesn't have a deathwish. I personally don't trust the idea of mage prayer and anti fires unless you can use Super Anti's. Go with a DFS or Antidragon shield. (I know DFS has a - Mage attack but DFS is especially hand for if you try miths) Other than that, everyone seems to have it nailed: FSH (If slaying)/Ahrims Hood Ahrims top Ahrims bottom Arcane Stream/Fury SoL Mage Cape Barrows Gloves Seers (i) Infinity/Wizard boots Antidragon/DFS/Arcane/mages book (only arcane or mages book if not doing dragons, but that's a bit off topic) And I'd recommend using the highest spell you can with a BoB for bones.

Aye I'm in the same boat as you trying to get the WGS herby req. Basically go to Rune wiki and look at the costings there. Very accurate and they do update every time the GE updates. Currently my friend found the best method for me is Super Energy if I want the quick levels because it's the cheapest gp/exp. Doing it that way will cost ~4M. Other than that what most people are saying are ways of making money. 1. MTK yeah it's good..... but the exp rates would be a bit dodgy and you could never calculate how much it will take you to get to your level. Sell your herbs. Or if you so choose do what I did for a while and do the putting them into pots and making them into potions. (Makes slayer a little cheaper too thanks to making your own supers and technically only paying for the 2nd as the herb is very minimal cost). However you could sell the herbs, get the money, and get better exp when buying and making the cheapest gp/exp pot out there and selling back. 2. Herb farming. Good way to make money? Yes. Good way to train herby? Not really. Depends if you have the time and patience. Do something in the mean time. However, mostly if you want 99 farming herb farming will actually be paying for your trees. Especially using say Yews and Papyas because I used to do this before I took my break. Ima actually throw one out there I did for a while which makes slayer a bit more intensive: 3. After every task use all the herbs you pick up and make them into pots. In the long term slayer will actually pay for itself in this way anyways when you sell all your loot at the end of a level or whenever you sell it. Best ideas therefore are to clean herbs if you can stand the monotony (I don't know how to use mousekeys), or to spend the 4M and make a pot that potentially wont sell for a long while. You seem to never have any problems with money like I do, so yeah go with mith plates ;) ALWAYS use SC items.... i can't stress that enough. If you struggle on money, go addy bolts, to addy tips, to addy plates. The money you lose between 88-90 is not enough for you to consider tips anymore. The money after that though is enough to consider tips (If you're me of course :) ) but yeah. GOOD LUCK! :)

Yeaaaaah, I've kinda been wracking your brains since I've been back because having majority of the year out makes the old cogs a bit rusty ya see ;) Now..... I am a great lover of melee and it's my general plan that after I get smithing to 99 to max out my melee's during 2011 if I can....... Via my beloved slayer of course. However, I'm at a junction in my mind now. My mage level is a pitiful 74 currently and I would really love that to hit about 85 so I can try and boss hunt a little bit perhaps. And my range is a dismal 78.... but I am working on that one! Right soooooo my main thing: When I hit 90 attack and 90 strength I intend to start breaking up my slayer a bit more - into melee tasks, and mage tasks..... Perhaps range. I currently cannon everything I can and piety what I can't (except for greaters and black demons..... Blacks I'm thinking of blocking..... yes, no, maybe? what do you think?) So therefore I do get a nice little chunk of range exp most of the time and tasks are generally quick. I also currently have a very nice looking 17M cash pile after I just stocked up on pouches, pony scrolls, monkfish, and tonnes of super att, str, def and prayer pots. (However about 8-9M will be sucked out of it before the end of the month as I want to grab 96 smithing before I'm back to uni in october). I do have a FSH I has a DFS! :D I ALWAYS use Kuradal Also.... A friend of mine has a SoL he'd be willing to lend me, so i guess that's atleast 1 thing sorted right? I'll probably whack my stat's sig in again soon, but most people will know I now have: 88 Attack 85 Strength 99 Defence 78 Range 74 Mage 92 HP 90 Summoning 87 Slayer So then more question time! What is a good set up for mage slaying? What is a good inventory? What would be a good spell for me to use mage slaying? Is mage slaying worth it? Is it possible to mage every task I get? Will I make a profit if I do that though like I still manage to with piety and cannon? Would I still cannon? Would I also use the highest mage prayer I could to kind of replicate piety? What would be good monsters for me to mage slay and actually profit on? What would be the actual best thing for me to do to raise my mage? And if you don't go crazy from answering all my questions listed in this post then please tell me the same sort of thing about range slaying too, as I'm considering that. Everyone knows that the Ardy cape 3 is an essential bit of slayer kit if you don't have a SW cape..... So can anyone tell me the quickest way for me to get 65 thieving from my level?
