Dod Sno (Dead Snow) for me :D One of my friends thought it wasn't coming to England as it was one of these Norwegian films and therefore he and his friends managed to get an internet copy of it with subtitles. He soon gave it me back last july :D Must say it was pretty damn epic! Especially that guy who got stabbed everywhere then dismembered...... I liked that death.

Yea that's the idea behind getting 90 smithing now, along with the fact that I want to get the skill to 99. And so it seems that people would say get the claws first eh?

play an rpg then, not an mmorpg. Um,no? I like interacting with people. I don't mind competing with people. I like to achieve things with other people trying to do the same. I like that I'm not forced into group activities like you are in WoW. I'm just very, very over hearing about clans when I don't think that many people are even in them. The community opinion seems to be if you don't agree with the community opinion you need to quit our game. Clans actually play no part in runescape. RS Could easily survive without them. The only times you need to have participation with other people is when you're FORCED to. EG Heroes quest, Shield of Arrav etc. You HAVE to use people. But anyways, clans are not needed in RS. Sure things they can be helpful. Finding a PC clan, or the SC clan or whatever will help you alot doing some things, however it's not needed is it? Clans are therefore not an integral part of RS. Just like they're not in some other places like Halo 3 online. You don't need a clan, but my girlfriends brother and I are making one. Therefore they have no real purpose in a game. Updates should be made for all players not just for clans.

Girlfriend and I went to see Machine Head back on the 21st February. I can still remember the whole concert as it was so amazing xD We were right at the barrier for the whole thing. Apart from having crowd surfers dropped on us we escaped remarkably unscathed. Only real disappointment was that All Shall Perish didn't play but they were replaced by Man Must Die who did an AMAZING job, and I severely advise their album for all metalheads into ASP and stuff like that :P But yea, I'll try and upload the video of Halo to youtube that I took and then upload it here if you guys want....... Oh and if you really want I'll tell you their setlist :) I'm gona post THE most moving song ever on here though that they played...... Only tracks I like that they have done is "Route of All Evil" and the other one that you get in the CT whilst chasing Surok Magis. Other than that it's whatever deathmetal/grindcore I'm hooked on which is currently As You Drown and Man Must Die.

Right ok, well, the topic seems a little misleading at first as everyone will think that SS will stand for "Saradomin Sword" however it doesn't, it stands for Spirit Shield. Now my query is like so: Although I want to get 99 smithing sometime soon because I adore the skill I have also promised myself that I'd get 90/92 slayer and 90 fishing first to make absolutely sure that I have the money for it. However I got a Visage drop not long ago (just before the exp weekend) and that bumped my "spare" cash pile up to 30m (give or take stuff that's in MTK and stuff). I'm constantly re-investing that money into slayer via cballs and pots and stuff like that and I have 27m left with a tab full of slayer drops that I want to sell when I get 86 slayer today after penguins. I also have 2K or so points that would equate to.... I'd say 3.5m or something? And then again MTK is about 2 weeks old now and therefore will need topping up of the coffers soon, so when I get it that's another 3-4m. Another little misleading thing is that I actually do have a DFS. It's sat in my bank waiting for me to get something like extremes and the like and go boss hunting which I can't do atm as my Acer Aspire 5536 is really laggy regardless of being a top notch lappy because Windows Vista screwed up and one of the updates keeps screwing it over and therefore if I play youtube or anything it'll lag majorly and my mum wont let me ring microsoft etc to make sure that I can use the same licenses I'm on for office etc so I can't reboot it and pop windows 7 on it yet. Anyways! I digressed a bit. So yea, when I went to AZ's for a bit in July last year I managed to make 17m and buy a DFS at that price because it was the shield that I always wanted. Now - This shows that I have ~65m to invest in 87 to 99 smithing which I'm sure I can get away with doing a combo of Gold and Addy Plates and then again adding in the money I'd get from 86-90 fishing would easily put me into the money for 99 smith. And then again I have a ZS I hardly use which is another 5m, I have a SS that I'd sell tbf if I didn't want to get 90 strength soon, and I have numerous liquid assets that I'm willing to sell. However, 99 smithing was the skill that was going to be my swan song. It was going to be my retiring skill; the ultimate goal in RS that I wanted done, completed and Have that beautiful cape; on the other hand I know I wouldn't quit, I'd love the cape too much and want to keep playing but in that cape 100% of the time. And also I want to get 99 slayer sometime after I get 99 smithing so I've obviously reconsidered it. Ok so, being a slayer and smither by RS profession and after giving you the back story I'm wondering what you people would advise. I'm currently at a point in RS where my interest has dipped (It's so bad I've not even done the easter event and I have herb patches that are 2 weeks old), however it'll be back soon enough. So: 1. Should I invest in Claws? They seem to be a fantastic spec weapon; however, considering I never really take any spec weapons on slayer tasks it could just sink back into obscurity. On the other hand, whenever I've been lent them by Dragonkng I've loved playing with them, but my slayer tasks just descend into me using the claws and nothing else xD Anyways, I love them when I use them. Worth it? 2. Should I invest in a SS? Although DFS was THE first members item I ever wanted I see so many people using the blue one that Bacon got dropped...... ummm, Spectral? Well it's the blue one xD Anyways, I was wondering what the main use of the shield is in slayer. I see so many people now-a-days in Kuras dungeon with them that I'm starting to think they've taken over a DFS in slayer shield of preference. 3. Should I keep my DFS? Although DFS was THE first members item I ever wanted now that I have it and have used it to it's maximum efficiency I think whilst getting 99 defence and it's now descending into obscurity in my bank as I use a rune defender do you guys think I should still keep it as I do ALOT of dragon killing on tasks and in spare time tbf, and I love the shield alot. But I'd be selling it anyways for 99 smithing...... However, I'm not too sure how happy I'd be with selling the shield..... I'm considering getting some mjolnirs if my comp will let me and then try and raise it's price by 10m or so on W2 or something which might compensate for selling it. 4. GS...... Now, I borrowed Iiccee's SGS a while back and am in the same predicament as with Dragonkngs Claws. I think I could milk my bank for the money for the SGS, however...... Would it be worth "breaking" my bank for it...... But they're stable are they not? And they could be a good way to make some income? I don't know, however I know I fell in love with it. Then again what could be a good substitute? I hate AGS for the principal that it's over priced and only used in PVP which I never do and I don't believe that it should cost 100M+ because that's just silly pricing. BGS is always echoed as useless for everything which is why it's so cheap and unused. Then there's the ZGS which looks epic and I hear is epic at barrows; but seeing as I hardly ever barrow what other use would it have? But don't they all have the same stats too? 5. 99 Smithing - Read topic :P 6. I'm scared of asking this for the whole "GO HERBY NAO NARB!!!!! @@@@@@" Argument. I don't know whether I wana do herby, however if people suggest it I'll consider it. However what level could I get to on the 60-70M that I could milk from my bank? I'm POSITIVE I can't get extremes or super antifires. So what other suggestions including herblore for my bank? EDIT: EXTRA QUESTION :D - Should I bother trying to get a (i) ring from MA? Are they really worth it? If so which one? I've been wearing a RoL for about the time I've had a fire cape I guess +/- 2 months I used a Zerker with the fire cape, but when I sold it for my DFS I went to RoL and have wore it ever since. So which should I go with?

This. Being nice in the game doesn't always work. You'll find more and more people like that....... I actually think that P2P is worse than F2P if that's where you are...... I generally have all my chats off and therefore can't be annoyed by people cept when I'm in lady h chat ;)

Cannon + Pray mage = Profit still So...... why waste time and not cannon or pray them? For time is money afterall. And they're a nice quick task. Cut out the "they hit too hard" with a simple prayer :P

Sum it up like thus and make your own decision: ZS: 1. WFs. 2. Superantifire + ZS = Epic on dragons so i hear 3. Corp 4. Looks epic 5. Aquanites if you're into that sort of thing? 6. Only 5m SS 1. WF's 2. 2h whip that trains str 3. Looks good with an epic looking spec 4. Only 9.1m You're paying 4.1m for something that'll train strength...... ZS if you aren't training strength atm, SS if you are. I currently have 1 of each in the bank and I only whack them out on occasions so I should sell them. But I like the look of them, and they're generally a stable market...... Also no loss for me as when SS crashed to ~7m I got one, and when ZS were 3m first I got one too, so total of 10M that's now about 4-5m Profit on them. I'd be willing, if you wanted, to lend them out to you for a period of time and you can see what you like. PM me on here when you want them and where to meet and I'll try to make sure I'm online.

Slayer Helm (or FSH) Fury Fire Cape Karils top Karils bottom Dragon Boots/Infinity Boots (not too sure which) Barrows Gloves ZS Bunyip with plenty of "Swallow whole" scrolls, or a pony. Alot of monkfish/pineapple pizzas. Maybe take a bob with food first and then swap out for yip to try and get trip done in one. Supers/Extreme attack and strength. Otherwise try praying and use the protect melee and piety (I don't care if you're on curses, they're a waste at your prayer level, IMHO get the hell off them for slayer). Should be ok :)

As everyone says - Bandos isn't worth breaking your bank for. Sure it looks good but that's all it does...... It has worse stats than Barrows armour, and the amount of time you'd have to have barrows/repair it will take a hell of a long time until it totals the cost of bandos. So why not go for the cheaper armour that has better stats? Then again do you have: ZS? SS? FSH? Fury? V skirt and a barrows platebody? Cannon? Stock of Cballs? Stock of pots (especially prayer)? Karils? Stock of the familiars you use? Once you have all of that then consider going with something like Tassets and Torso if you REALLY, and I stress really, want bandos because it seems to be such a waste. The only thing going for it is str bonus........ But anyways, I'd suggest spending that money on cannoning and pietying all slayer tasks you can. You'll make it back; however it'd be better spent that way than on a piece of armour that will break your bank and take you months to break it again to get the other piece. Oh and GS's are over rated and too expensive. The only one you should consider using is SGS for healing and AGS for PKing........ However I have heard that ZGS is good for barrows if you do that alot (and it looks AMAZING IMO, I want one so badly xD) and BGS just for some bosses, however why would you want to spend that much money on something when a whip can outstrip it? Keep with slayer though and you'll make the money.

Good luck! I wouldn't give up that easily. I mean, it took me 21 tries to kill Nomad when I was almost maxed melee and 89 summoning :P But I killed that [loliliketocensorstuffmyself]-er! Don't give up :P Zaaps has it right. Just keep going. The capes worth it, and it's practice for TD's.

I don't generally use piety on them as I think it's a waste. Cannon is really good there. I'm guessing you can use the yak to bank their bones tbf...... Cannon considerably helps me there, so I'd take it if I were you and you'll have no problem slicing through them.

you made a lot of good points here and i appreciate that. however there is a few points i would like to make myself. 1. Cannon - yes i know their worth it but i dont like to use them, i tend to forget about it fairly often PLUS im more of a melee person so i want to get all the melee xp out of my slayer tasks as i can and the cannon just takes away from that. 2. Bandos - After looking over the prices and the def bonus' i decided to NOT get bandos until i have like 75m+ as even tho it has a nice str + pray bonus i dont see a point in it alone. 3. Zerker ring - Since i dont play MA and i dont plan to start playing it, The zerker ring will never be imbued and therefor isnt worth the +4 str bonus ( no matter how much anyone argues on this i've made my mind up xD) 4. Fury - simply put...im going to buy this :) 5. Dragon Claws - well even tho they cose like...35m? Im thinking about camping TD's until i either get them as a drop or i can afford to buy them without breaking my bank ( currently have 33m 2m short of claws but that would also break my bank ) 6. Fire Cape - Im going to give this one another go or 2 but i highly doubt ill get it seeing as im horrible at pray switching AND i never seem to make it to Jad (when i do i end up dieing because of the pray switching problem) 1. May I then advise that you replace your Torso with a Prosy top and piety your tasks, or atlest 10% pray them. That combo gives only 1 prayer bonus lower than that of prosy top and legs, and once again, piety severely speeds up your kills. I even hit 44's whilst potted and pietying. So therefore it could be an ideal substitute for a cannon, however many people do use cannon and piety too to make sure they get the best speeds. Also although you're protesting cannon, you did make a thread the other day about ranging black dragons - Well there is your ranged exp in slayer, and you'll get extra slay exp to boot if you're going for any melee levels. For example I calced that I'd be 85 slayer by 85 att and 85 str..... I was 85 slayer at 85 att and 83 (almost 84) str because of cannoning :) 2. Good idea. Bandos is overpriced and tbf I don't see a use in it, even with the strength bonus. Buy a GS or something with the money bandos would cost or something. 3. Agreed. 4. Good man :) 5. Ah yea, that's fair enough tbf. Don't ever break your bank for anything (not even with me telling you to get 99 smithing over pm!). But a simple DDS will suffice...... I'm a bit naughty and never actually use a spec weapon..... I don't know what one to use or whatever so I just replace that slot with a lunar staff to get to kura. 6. 99 Defence and some ok gear should get you through the waves easily.... I only took about 40-60 damage total when I went through with 85 defence. And Just keep practising, may I suggest following EVERYTHING in Sir Hemens guide. It truly is a remarkable piece of work, and does work. And never give up ;) What would you do irl? Say if you set up a business, or you had a job and you go bankrupt/get fired, you don't go "ah well, never mind, cba again", you go back and find yourself another one. So don't give up with jad. The supplies used are worth it, and the time..... in the end.

Everyone seems to sum it up perfectly. Cpt is correct in the fact of using V skirt...... also if you sell your torags legs I think you'll only spend a max of a couple of hundred K extra on the skirt. Fire cape is a good idea and so is a SW cape. Zaaps is right with the focus sight. And though you say you don't cannon I would seriously suggest you do even if you forget it and have to get it back from that dwarf. It speeds up your slayer somewhat considerably and therefore is worth the cost. Some tasks are outright losses however others like aberrants can profit. Cannoning with your cp of 10m is perfect. Fury is DEFINITELY worth the money! Well it was at 2.1m and I still think it is at whatever it's current price is..... It is fantastic. IMO I'd say don't waste the 5m on the zerker ring. However I must ask here - Is it really worth it? :-? to me it seems to be a waste of money where warrior increases the accuracy of your whip. But idk, I'm sure people will tell me i'm wrong and show me how which i'll be glad to see so i can understand why the zerker. I'd say get D claws before the Bandos...... Bandos is overrated even more so than claws therefore it should come below them. Claws > Bandos IMO.

Kuradal and plant the 5 mushrooms for the fairy ring therefore no problem :) It's as simple as going - Finish task, home tele, restore prayer and summoning, tele to edge, grab lunar staff/bank stuff, run to ring, up steps, there she is :)

That would be epically hilarious! I want my DFS + ZS combo now :P But yea, as everyone said, whip is the weapon EVERYONE and their cat has, so I'd say in the short term greedy merchers would raise it to 15m because so many pures would be trained after because they could whip everything, but then it'd drop to a max of 1m above it's current price..... but then again..... how did it get to 3-4m (haven't looked at graph in ages) from the 1.2m that I bought it at about this time last year? :-?
