  1. My ideas of what I wanted have changed since I was 13, which has made me nervous of changing more as I get older. My partner's 24, has always wanted them and doesn't have any for the same reason. The main one I want now I've wanted for about six months. I'm waiting another six months before carrying it out... After getting henna tatts of it beforehand to see if I like the placement haha =] I'm just cautious about anything that'll stay with me for life. I've never cared about my piercings (apart from the fact that I am allergic to most metals) or where I get them because I can always take them out if I don't like them with no reprecussions... Tatts are different so I'm being careful and [kitty] about it :D
  2. What the holy [bleep] are you thinking? I'm thinking that they'll get a taste of their own medicine in there. If a child from 9-14 can rape someone, think about how evil they must be. Hell if anyone can rape someone they deserve the death sentence but unfortunately nothing like that will happen to these disgusting pieces of crap. Personally, I believe that with serious crimes like this, an eye for an eye isn't a bad idea. Murderers should be put to death and rapists should be castrated and then raped. I agree that it should be called "to the harshest extent" or something similar but think about it. In many countries, if you're tried as a child you can only be incarcerated until you're 18 or 21, depending on where you are. If they're tried as adults, they are able to be put in jail for life, and seeing as they won't get the death penalty (if they're this bad at 9-14, think about what they'll be like as adults) they should at least be put away where they won't hurt little girls ever again.
  3. I'm 19 (plenty old enough to get a tattoo) and have been wanting one or more since I was 13 or so. I just can't seem to make a decision right now. I have my own money, live with my partner and can pay my own way... I resent when people say "teenagers shouldn't get them" when we're not all kiddies living with their parents and getting an allowance. I love tatts... I have several ideas but it's placement and the order in which I get them that's my problem. The one I'd probably get first though, the one that means the most to me, would most likely be horribly misconstrued by anyone who saw it... I really dislike when people get tattoos of butterflies, stars, dolphins, chinese symbols (if you're not chinese), cats, dogs, angel wings and religious symbols. They're disgustingly cliched. Sure with 6-7 billion people in the world there's bound to be some duplication but with stars, it seems everyone has one. My partner's sister has two separate star tatts and to be honest if you looked at them without her face in a picture, it could be anyone with them. No originality whatsoever (but I guess that's her personality anyway.) Where I live, it's fairly easy to get tattoos done underage. If you go around closing time and are prepared to pay more, you'll get it done. It's so stupid though... They do it quickly and badly, and you really don't have much room to complain because it's 100% your fault. Partially OT: Anyone else hear of that girl who "fell asleep" (bs!) during a tatt session? She was meant to get 3 small stars on her face - stupid anyway - while her dad waited outside, but she ended up getting them literally all over her face. http://nonrhotic.wordpress.com/2009/06/ ... -to-blame/ http://news.softpedia.com/newsImage/Gir ... ace-2.jpg/ She was awake and looked into the mirror several times as the procedure was taking place. The trouble all started when she went home and her father and boyfriend threw a fit. They are saying things now like I doped her or hypnotized her. What rubbish! She asked for 56 stars and thats what she got. The tattoo artist said... Now that's stupidity! #-o =D>
  4. In my opinion all four of the boys should have been tried as adults. You always have a choice, and choosing to rape someone should get you put in an adult prison regardless of your age... See how the 9-14 year olds feel when they get their just deserts from the nazi in the next room at showertime. I'm a member of another forum, and one woman put forward the view that the 9 and 10 year old boys should get no punishment because they were "obviously led to it, and aren't at fault"... Disgusting. The girl should have councelling and be taken away from her dispicable family. The boys should be sent to an adult male prison. All parents involved should be sent to prison: the girl's parents because they disowned her and the boys' parents because they raised their sons to be rapists. To the person who tried to justify the girl's parents because of their culture: I call BS. "Culture" is not an excuse in cases like this. Would you defend child marriage and the stoning of rape victims in islamic countries for the same reason?
  5. Mine is always set to on... Unless someone's interfering with my training after they've been told to leave me alone for a while, at which point it goes off and I go into my cc. If someone badly needed to contact me (god knows why lol) they could find me there.
  6. always tuna potatoes. i farm my own sweetcorn (occasionally buy it raw if i'm feeling lazy), fish and cook my own tuna, churn my own butter and pick/farm my own potatoes... a great all round food that heals 22 in one bite... perfect :D
  7. 1) more than 10% of runescape players are girls 2) most females have better things to do with their time than shopping, sleepovers and pointless crap like that. some of us go to college, play instruments, work part time and play runescape. we're not all pointless bimbos like the ones you describe. get a life, [bleep]. 3) every time i've been shopping with my partner, it's been him offering to pay for stuff and me adamantly refusing. 4) if this is your genuine opinion of females, you've been dating the wrong ones. most aren't gold-digging bimbos. most of us are productive members of society that wouldn't give people like you a second glance. oh wait! that's why the girls you've been dating are bimbos :)
  8. personally, i think dating on runescape is pathetic. it's for those too antisocial or ugly to get a boyfriend or girlfriend in real life. my partner and i have been living together for over a year and we occasionally played runescape together... in the same room, me giving advice and cutting diamonds etc for him. we didn't meet online, we met at college. basically, i'm a 19 year old girl. i could say i'm a 15 year old boy or an 11 year old girl on runescape and you'd never know. also, with runescape as the primary method of communication, it's not a relationship. where are the hugs, the kisses, the catching each other's eyes over a pizza you made yourselves after a flour fight, where is the joy in waking up next to each other, covering your mouths with a duvet because you both have morning breath, where is the excitement in awesome sex, knowing you never want to sleep with anyone else because you've found the one? you'll never have that in runescape. you'll never have that in any internet medium. you'll never have the physical contact that is a huge part of any real relationship. i don't respect ruenscape relationships for the same reason that i don't respect two 11 year olds holding hands in the playground: it's not real.
  9. magic's meant to beat melee. and the spell you're proably thinking of is ice barrage, from the ancient magic spellbook. but think of mage robes... they have awful melee defence, and ancients is a horribly expensive way to pk. ice barrage is around 2k per cast. it hits a max of 29/30 but won't hit all the time will it? i use the normal spellbook to pk but only as a backup to melee... it's impossible to win as a mage against a meleer unless you have ancients, and even then, the meleer will win against most mages. mage is horribly underpowered in both f2p and p2p. unless you spell combo, the max hit is around 30. how do you think that compares to melee?
  10. You have now met someone who reads the dictionary for fun. haha! lol
  11. yeah, i had an encounter with a kid like that a while back. i was walking out of lumbridge castle (home teled to bank during a quest to get supplies) and killed a random man for the sake of it. this kid happened to be standing next to said man and called me a "brat" for killing him as i teled away. (actually spelled it "bart" the first time round, i at first assumed it was a misspelling of "0barbarica0", as that happens a lot). i pmed her asking what she wanted and i got a string of abuse for daring (lol) to kill the level 2 man she was planning on killing. i jokingly gave a couple of better places for a level 30ish to train and then got a string of abuse for being able to spell well while typing fast and daring to use the laws of grammar. choice example of abuse include (all misspellings hers, my replies not what was said on the day): "omg y not red a dictonry i bet u do" - funnily enough i've never met someone who read the dictionary for fun "its th intrent u nd 2 typ fast" - i'm typing just as fast and made one spelling mistake in the conversation "omg ur so crap u cant spel" - in response to my minor mistake, the irony of this should be apparant... O.o "bet ur so old n got lyk 3 degrees" - pardon? i'm 19 years old... hardly geriatric. and i wouldn't insult someone for having three degrees, unless they were in pointless subjects like "communications" haha :) there were more, but i can't be bothered typing them. you have to understand that the average age of runescape players is quite low compared to other games. this young player admitted that she was 13 years old. there's a certain level of maturity that many younger players lack, and they get a thrill from trying to make you angry. what i did in the above conversation was be cool, calm and rational. simply correct them until they get furious themselves and log out. play them at their own game, it can be fun :)
  12. this has happened to me a couple of times. a player follows you talking in god knows what language on an english server... i normally tolerate it for a while and then say "you're on my ignore list if the next thing you say is in a foreign language" and always put them on my ignore list. it's kind of stupid really. if i log onto a foreign server to skill because an area's crowded, do i talk english to people and [bleep] at them if they don't understand me? of course not, because it's ignorant and rude. i speak semi-fluent french and turkish, and a little german, and my first language is english. i can normally understand what people are saying, because it's normally french or german they talk in if they're following you... but it's really annoying. doesn't get me mad, but i enjoy using my ignore list for a day or two on those ones. it's an english speaking game. if i went onto a game that was, say, created and primarily used in japan, i'd expect to learn a little japanese in case i needed help on something. it's the same in real life. my partner's dad is turkish and we went over there so i could meet him. he speaks fluent english, but i learned as much turkish as i could, because it's really rude not to. did i speak english in turkey? only to my partner and his family, and one waiter who realised i was having trouble paying and spoke english with me. so yeah, ignore list is your friend, and i always advise them to go to another server if they want to speak their own language with people.
  13. personally, i think a quest cape is impressive. it takes pretty high skills across the board to achieve it, means you're an all-round player, and if you haven't used guides on everything (which admittedly some do), then it's a great achievement that i'd personally value over any 99 cape. i don't have any, because i'm a college student and i work, so i'm not on 24/7, but i'd love the quest cape. and i agree that all capes are an achievement, but i think they're more of an achievement in the case of cooking and fletching if you were self sufficient when getting them. i know when i have both of those capes thati cut all the logs myself, spun all that flax myself, fished all the sworfish and sharks and gathered all the ingredients for those tuna potatoes without stepping in the GE (apart from the first day i became a member, a couple days before christmas, when i had no idea how to get bowstrings lol.)
  14. in port phasmatys (sp?) i was getting more bones from the bank for the ectofungus, and a level 122 (no joke!) said "free stuff please". there was no one around, so he had to be talking to me... i was purplexed... you get to level 122 and can't make your own money? there's something wrong there...
  15. you have to fight three level 49s, a level 92 and evade a level 73 big wolf. how is a level three really going to do that? to have enough prayer to defend from melee would raise your combat level to 8 (tip it calculators). and with ten hitpoints, unless you have a full inventory of food, you're going to fair really badly against the monsters. as the other guy said: pics or gtfo.
  16. tuna potatoes. they heal 22hp, which is more than sharks at 20. they're great for my farming, fishing and cooking skills and they sell for quite a lot too. against any monster i'd never touch sharks. tuna potatoes rule.
  17. ok, today was my first time in a bounty hunter world. i arrived in edgeville, read the two books you get and pretty quickly got assigned a target. i followed the yellow arrow, pretty excited because i hadn't killed a player since before the anti-rwt updates. i don't know what to expect, so i'm 1-iteming with a rune scimmy. i did also have a prayer pot, an anti poison pot and a couple tuna potatoes. so i was well prepared to die or win, either way i was curious. my target was a similar level to me but was dressed in good armour. when i battled him down to around 1/3rd health, with the help of prayer and food, he goes "mind not killing me?". i told him it was my first time and i wanted to kill something, so the idiot ran off like a wimp and i trudged back to edgeville, looking for something else to kill. i see two 122(ish) levels fighting. one kills the other and the dying one says "gf sir :)" as he dies. what happened to honour in runescape in the mid levels? it seems like only the highest levels want a challenge, and accept death if it comes. i wouldn't have minded if my opponant had killed me at all; i would have considered it a fun challenge. i wouldn't have ran off with my tail between my legs.
  18. rawrtiger, i know exactly what you mean. i'm 19 myself and i get called "old" by some (obviously young) players. it's bizarre to me! i'm at the start of my life, just like you, and it seems absurd at best for a 13 or 14 year old child to think i'm old! i work with kids around 5 years old, and i could understand it from them haha, but not runescape players. and i also feel pretty offended at kids who call you "gey" (chat filter bypass) as an insult. i'm in a long term relationship with my partner (male) but he's pretty much my only boyfriend. all my other relationships have been with females lol. when someone thinks that being "gay" is a bad thing, to the point of using it as an insult, i think they're pretty pathetic people. but you really can't expect anything better from young teenage males. we'll just have to wait for the kids to become disillusioned with runescape and leave a great game for us older and more mature players. chin up? :)
  19. funny thing happened yesterday: i'm cb 86, and this guy was 95 or something... dragon scimmy, rune defender, dragon platebody and legs... the works. i'm killing cockatrices and he comes in, calls me a noob and tries to kill one. the thing keeps hitting constant 8s on him and he's freaking out. says "wtf noob?" as if it's my fault. as he's running away, almost red barred i pm him: "mirror shields are your friend". what does he reply with? "ye ryt noob.". huh?
  20. i am against this idea. i'm 19, and in most countries in the world i am a full adult. i pay my membership every month through direct debit on a credit card. why should jagex tell me when i can and can't play? if i wanted someone telling me to get off my damn computer i'd move back in with my parents. and i wouldn't really like a window coming up for every hour i play either. on my mac, in the top right hand corner is a clock. if it was something people could toggle on/off then i'd think it was a good idea. anyway, if i wanted parenting i'd be living with my parents instead of my partner. jagex won't implement this idea ever, because people like me, who don't really appreciate being told what to do would quit, and they'd lose money. i don't play 8/10 hours a day, but even if i did, it's no one's business but mine.
  21. while i agree with your point about people not leaving tutorial island because of the graphics, i am saddened slightly by your post. i could somewhat understand a 13 year old being unable to tell their friends about runescape; at that age you're only starting to discover who you are, and there's a lot of insecurity there... but when an 18 year old adult says how they're "scared" to tell others about a computer game they play, that's ridiculous to me. if GTA was unpopular, would you hide it as well? if jeans or trainers were unpopular would you refuse to go out of the house wearing them? i think you still have a lot of growing up to do, and i can't understand why you're so scared of being ridiculed for a computer game. god knows what would happen to you if you actually had something visible about you that people could mock!
  22. who cares if you'll be mocked for it? it makes you really pathetic for caring about what people think of you to the extent that you'll hide something as small as a computer game from everyone... i'd advise you to get a life, but i guess you won't until you mature.
  23. lol... so by disliking immature behaviour, and by recognising that it's 99% of the time younger players that are [wagon] to others... that means i'm immature? it seems like i struck a chord with someone by not wanting to talk to children. and i act like an adult... mostly because i am an adult. i work with kids and i have to be professional or i get fired. i have no respect for young teenagers mouthing off, doing their best to display bullying behaviour on a game that some of them are too young to play. there's a reason i don't talk to teenagers outside of work in real life... because 99% of them don't have the capacity to talk in a mature fashion with an adult.
  24. [hide=] [/hide] no, jagex makes sure that the ones who tell the TRUTH about being under 13 can only talk in quickchat. [hide=] [/hide] this to me is the perfect idea :D ... now how to implement it... maybe there's a new reportable offence, but only if the player is in their first month of playing would it count towards anything? for example "immature behaviour" and if the player in their first month is indeed being [developmentally delayed] then they would be put in the category that other players could mute. [hide=] [/hide] i agree with this post a lot. but i may just start going on foreign language servers... because i don't speak belgian (right language? sorry, my geography sucks :( ) anyway... i probably was wrong about the strict cut off ages anyway... the maturity test idea would work a lot lot better  now come on jagex... i can't ignore every stupid player!!!
  25. i'm well aware that getting the true ages of people would be the hardest part of my idea... and to be honest if there was an idiot filter in real life i'd be clicking that button like there's no tomorrow! i'm just sick of stupid younger players. they're the only game-ruining thing for me. [and note that i'm only talking about maybe half of the younger players in runescape]
