  1. Ah, thank you :) Blonde moment hehe.
  2. I found your entire post very useful and as a result will definitely be switching up my methods to incorporate this. The only bit I don't understand is this: Surely the higher your prayer bonus the better (at least on tasks where I use the prayer method) or am I missing the point? I don't see how it's a waste if (I think) any and all prayer bonus should be prolonging your prayer... Or is it that by the time you've got 20+ prayer bonus you're at a good place and the items you're using for surplus prayer could be better used for defensive/strength/accuracy bonus? Heh, if I'm missing the point I apologise :)
  3. I do have an email address registered, one which I use for nothing else. I know I could use my card details to recover my account if the worst came to the worst, but the more information you have the better. I have old passwords, old usernames, email addy and card details (and of course a general idea of what's in my bank). I like to think my account is pretty secure.
  4. Basically there are a few people who have managed to glitch so they become invisible. This makes it impossible for other players to attack them (i think?) and can easily rush/freeze people. Thank you, I see it now. It does seem like something that should definitely be fixed, totally not fair. And I assume that if you can't see them, you can't see their name and so can't report them =/
  5. I don't understand 100%. What is this glitch?

    Dragons

Nah, you're just unlucky =/ I've solod all my levels (apart from maybe 5 f2p dunges teaching my brother how to) and fairly regularly get dragons solo. Not every dungeon or anything but maybe one in fifteen - ish. It's just luck, like I got my ssh on my first night spider and now I get the dang spiders all the time in dungeons.
  7. This is one of my personal pet hates. Especially those women who bulldoze on narrow pavements with those double buggies (like one kid beside the other). It's like the second they have kids they believe they're god's gift and have right of way everywhere.
  8. Sorry Sonikku, that was my bad there :) I spend 0 time in the wilderness but that must be a little annoying haha. And no, I always choose either herbs (if it's good ones) or the exp reward so I dont have one random costume piece in my bank any more. I think Diango has some pieces I got way back when and destroyed though. I should visit him and see lol.
  9. This. Gotta love maze rewards and free xp lamps <3: As for teleing to a random spot, it's not that much of a bother since they don't tele you to dangerous spots anymore. Though, it is annoying when you get tele'd in hard to get places like the wilderness. What? They won't tele you to the wilderness any more. But yeah, I've only been teled to a random spot once by a random event (clicked on the wrong sandwich) and got plopped down two clicks from Falador bank.
  10. I haven't had any more or less random events that usual. To be honest I think you need to calm down a bit. Most of them take around a minute to complete (apart from the maze one) and all are ridiculously easy. The way I see it is free exp for skills that I don't train often. Nothing to rage about tbh. And there's nowhere in runescape they'll tele you to that isn't close to a bank.

    Urns

What's your crafting level? Take the fishing urns, the best one gives you 1.6k (or thereabouts) exp, while the next best one gives you 600 exp... If you don't have a great crafting level you're not going to get the sort of exp you want from them.
  12. I hate it when you show an act of kindness and someone tries to take advantage. I was hanging out with my f2p mate for a bit in a f2p world while he mined (and to remind him of the ways to things - he hasn't played in years) and someone came over and asked very politely for a bronze pickaxe, so he could mine and superheat for money. I thought this was a reasonable request so I quickly logged to a member's world, made one, came back to the f2p world and gave it to him for free (20gp is nothing lol). He then said that was nice, I of course said np, I don't mind helping people if they ask nicely haha. He then begged for a set of rune -_- Why do I bother?
  13. Someone's bitter. And sort of racist.
  14. I know for a fact I've gotten farming rocks from harvesting herb and allotment patches, but I couldn't tell you about the monkeys.
  15. I don't really have much worth lending but when someone wants it I'll lend out my whip or bgs for free. I was really happy when a friend of a friend loaned me her bgs for free to try it out and see what it was like (I rarely see people lending for free these days, so it was a small shock) and so I'd like to make others that happy if I'm not using what they want for a while.
  16. I have everything off. I generally know what I'm doing and don't need a pvp warning because I know what worlds I'm going on (never pvp).
  17. I agree with squareroot2 about wine. It's great exp but grapes can be annoying to get hold of in bulk and it'll always make a loss. GE price is 520gp and wine hovers around 50ish gp. I don't know whether you're p2p or f2p but if you have membership and don't mind doing a quest then monkfish are fairly quick to fish and don't burn too much. They need 62 fishing and cooking though, so until then I agree with either wine (for a huge loss), tuna (breaking even I guess) or something like trout or pike, which generally make a loss in the GE but are quite useful for lower level slayer tasks.
  18. My cousin's almost 31 and he plays Runescape too. He introduced some of his friends to the game and they all play together lol. I'm 21 and I don't see any problems with older people playing. The leader of the clan I'm in is a mother of a guy who also plays rs (not sure how old he is but I'd judge late teens/early 20s) and she's really cool. I've been playing since 2003, making it almost 8 years I've been playing now. I was 13/14 when I started, and I never criticised anyone for their age. I listened and learned, and probably matured faster due to being around older players so much. There is no excuse for the amount of rudeness that people encounter for simply stating their age, and it seems worst in either Catherby or f2p. Just because I like a game doesn't mean I like kids in *that* way thank you very much  Ugh... This post is ranty but it drives me mad. Seriously, if they made Runescape 18+ (or even 16+) it'd be so awesome. It's rare to encounter a player in-game (not talking about forums here) who's younger than that who can string a basic sentence together.
  19. Ah! I did wonder why the new clothes had names like "builder" etc lol. That's what you get for moving house and having your provider screw up your internets for a month. Cheers :)
  20. Welcome to the game! You can get free things from several areas in Runescape. Not sure of them all, but in Lumbridge you can get free stuff from the general store, the fishing store and the place next to the fishing store with combat tutors. You can get free runes for magic and probably some free arrows too. I like how they don't coddle newbies and tell them where to get everything. Not telling you everything encourages to either explore and find it out for yourself or interact with the community and ask for help. Many of us here (myself included) have been playing since rsc, where you were told almost nothing and the game was more rewarding for it. The higher level players you saw killing chickens probably weren't bots. They one-hitted them because they were higher level, and they clicked as soon as they spawned because they know where the spawn places are. They didn't reply to your messages because many play with their public chat turned off (you'll see the option on the bottom left hand corner of the game screen). It leaves you more time to click if you don't have to type. The higher levels were probably killing chickens because feathers are used for fishing things like salmon and trout, and are also used for the members' skill fletching, which allows you to make ranged weapons and ammunition. If you got membership and quested a bit you'd be able to procure a device that picks up your arrows for you, but since you're a newbie you might not know if that's what you want or not yet. I didn't think of levelling as slow really, especially at lower levels. If you trained melee (swords etc) you might get your defence up quicker, but in general the higher you go the slower it is. Just a quick question really: what intro tutorial are they doing these days? Are they still doling out that silly dragon quest or have they put it back to the old one?
  21. Sounds strange. I'm on a mac as well, and it wouldn't let me run runescape at *all* after a couple-month break until I did about 5 software updates until it had the latest version of java. I experienced quite a bit of lag as well until I followed the instructions on QFC 25-26-187-57791999. It might not help but it's worth giving it a shot. I have the exact same problems with safari and chrome as well, even after following the instructions on the thread I mentioned earlier. It sucks, I know, but it might be one of those things that can't be fixed yet :(
  22. That's not how I took that comment. If you're trying to test a new game tutorial you're not going to bring in a bunch of adults who have common sense and have been playing rs for years... You're going to bring in a group of kids who don't know what they're doing. And you can still get free stuff from shops, can't you? I distinctly remember recently going to the Lumbridge fishing shop and at the top left (I think) there was a button you could push to get a free crayfish crate thingy and small net. Makes sense that other shops in the starter area would have other things to help newer players; all they need to do is bother to explore a bit. It's not hard to figure out what to do in runescape. I mean, the fishing shop is clearly marked on both the world map and the minimap. Buy something that you'd use irl to fish, find a body of water (also marked on the world map) and use one on the other. *All* of the starter skills you can learn in f2p use simple common sense, and I find it hard to believe that anyone would find it hard to work out what to do. We didn't always have helpful map icons everywhere.
  23. Can f2p not chop loads of willows? Can they not buy maple shorts off the grand exchange? Can they not fish hundreds of lobsters and tuna? There are loads of ways that f2p can get junk. Sure, members have more ways but that's perfectly fair.
  24. I didn't think I would, but I changed my name from 0barbarica0 to DuckyTheSwan... Ducky the barbaric swan was an in-joke nickname for me in high school, and 0barbarica0 looked like nonsense. Not sure if I'll keep this one though, 98% sure I will :)
  25. Lol that same thing popped into my head  Monty Python ftw!
