  1. TBH, Dung Warped floors come to mind when you bring up this point. No, it's not a quest, but it's a whole portion of a skill. Only ~4500 people have access to the Warped floors, so why bring out a HUGE update, just for them?
  2. Well as I guess I'm one of the rumored "3-5%" of the game's high-leveled players, I suppose I'll add my input. I have to say, Stonewall's opening post really took a lot of the words out of my mouth, or keyboard rather. If I train skills, it's because I have a goal. Let me use fishing as an example. Before the release of rocktail/cavefish, I had no intentions of getting higher than 80 fishing. I was content with 80 fishing, because that allowed me to reach a longtime goal of mine, having all 80 stats for Stealing Creation, and later on after a few levels in other stats, all 80+ skills. The release of rocktail/cavefish made me motivated to fish a little bit, but not to the point I really wanted to level it, because honestly, I can't stand fishing. With the release of the elite diaries, my goals have changed drastically. I'm the type of person that likes to have all quests completed, all diaries completed, all songs unlocked, etc. I like to "finish the game," to explain in a more understandable sense. Since I need a minimum of 91 fishing for all of the elite diaries (Admiral pie/Spicy stew to 96 for Relleka fishing task), this has changed the way I look at fishing. Now I have motivation to train fishing. I bought about 10k feathers, 100 Admiral pies, and even got a fishing brawler drop. I went out of my way because of this newfound motivation (besides the brawlers, those were kinda luck). THIS is why high level content is good for the game. THIS is why I find the game "challenging," because the goals rarely stay the same, with the exception of the main broad goal of "finish the game." And IMO, I think this is why a lot of low level players complain about high level content. Once again, purely IMO, but I think they feel they haven't completed the already available content, so when new high level content is released, they whine because they can't do it. As stated sooooo many times before on this thread alone, if you don't like it, tough. Quit, don't play the new content, or get the skills to participate in the new content. On a side note, I reached level 83 fishing today.
  3. You've turned seal-clubbing into.....cow-clubbing! Holy [cabbage]! Let the new trend begin! Saaaaaaaave the seeeeeeeeeals! LOL.
  4. My thoughts exactly lol. I just drew up my picture in my spare time, and submitted it for lol's. Never expected to win a prize, let alone first place. Thanks so much for the contest guys, and congratulations to the other winners!
  5. It's arguable. Maul has the most KO power, but people tend to safe against it and it is extremely vulnerable to vengeance. Rapier is great in dangerous PvP because people generally don't safe too much against it, but then it can combo like crazy. You can only eat one food between hits, so if someone is at 700 hp and you hit a 550, they eat a rocktail, and you hit a 380, they're out. And that's discounting vengeance adding to the KO. I've never seen a rapier hit 550 in PvP/BH ;)
  6. I can has pro TD setup? Oh no, I can't, need to get onyx imbued :( 116/300 MA rank ////////////////wrists
  7. ouch i never offer to key i never join random teams i love keying even tho i suck at it and usually make own i join friends teams and people that i know are good or have a rep of being good. You did 4 dungeons with me last night, what does that say about me? :^_^: The last one was pretty yucky though :???:
  8. Meat-shield as keyer....sounds about right. Anyway, 92 DG.
  9. Maul, use a dfs. Exactly. And assuming you use it for range vs range, that means you'll be up against Dragon bolts (e) quite often. DFS blocks the specials, whereas CKS does not. Edit: I say "assuming" because generally people ranging find it unfair in fights with meleers.
  10. I'm interested. Currently 91 DG (92 within 24 hours of posting this hopefully), 2273 total, 138 combat. My best key run is a 27 min F43, but it was a pretty easy one  As far as DG knowledge goes, the only thing i'm a bit short on is the higher bosses. Thunderous and higher i've yet to learn (just unlocked Thunderous ~2 days ago, only had one time). By all means, if anyone would like to do a floor with me, and give me a bit of constructive criticism, i'm game. One thing that sets me apart from a lot of people, is I enjoy keying. I have T5 tank + T5 gather rings atm, and will be higher in each soon. It should be known to all that DG with me, my college net is notoriously volatile, and it randomly DC's. That's about the only time I fail to key halfway decent. Edit: I'm open to doing Vent/Skype floors after I finish up this semester December 14th-ish. I know being able to talk rather than typing can really speed up dungeons.
  11. This isn't impressive, this is just plain rude. If you want said items, go train slayer yourself. Not snipe it from another player, furthermore, the necklace is near useless compared to a prome/primal plate, and definitely useless against a ssh. Gl getting in pro teams with a blood necklace and not a hood. +1 unspammify: [hide=Epic level] [/hide] +2. Blind_Auror took the words right out of my mouth (or fingers, rather). Also, congrats Squisher. Very impressive imo. Unspam: I remember a few days back reading about how Doomcore's are complete junk. I think this pic can second that.
  12. Still looking for a more perm team
  13. Same, usually just like I have in the pic, minus the one against the south face of the rock. He just sorta wandered over lol.
  14. Taken from "pro dg'ing" topic, can't comment on the reliability of said quote, however Yeah that's one of the posts I was referring to lol. I'm just getting on, so I'll look into it. I only have T5 tank ring atm though
  15. Not exactly what we were supposed to discuss; but lets go for it! You have to consider if the superior melee and ranged defence of the primal platebody, could make it a better option than the ward. The ward has decent maged defence. With both platebody and ward, if only 1 style was attacking you, you would pray against that style. With the Platebody you would pray against magic in a dangerous room with all 3 styles. With ward you wouldn't know what to pray against as for the ward beeing a shield that works with the "tank ring" - its very easy to find an antifire shield Kind of offtopic, but if you bind a primal plate + celestial surgebox then you can still use your tank ring + get +7 Mage defence/attack without losing a bind slot (as box counts as ammo). It's also great for higher tier forgotten warriors. I've heard multiple discussions as to whether CSB works as a shield for the tank ring or not. Can someone please confirm? I have primal battleaxe and CSB bound now (as well as hood, obviously), and if CSB counts as a shield, that's just that much better for me.
  16. So I noticed this thread has lacked some TD pics in the last few days. Might as well get us caught up. As for the last pic, I hear a lot of people whine about how even having 3 lured demons is a "quick end" to their trip. How about this? Amidoinitrite?
  17. They almost all were inefficient at different times.
  18. Sounds like you need a better team and not randoms ;) I was thinking the same thing as I read. As far as "people who "enjoy" skilling or clearing random rooms and slow down dungeons, on purpose, and yell at you when you tell them to stop wasting time," I more or less thought, "Sounds like 117 :ohnoes: ." I never realised how crappy 117 got, until the other night when 148 was dead, I hopped to 117. Biggest mistake of my DGing history... But as far as randoms go, there are some decent random teams. Today, I keyed a 27 min F43, the team was that good (Some might consider 27 min F43 "average," but it's decent for me, especially for not having a perm team). Finally, I must say this. DG is much faster now for me, because I'm not doing it for the rewards. 1-80 took me so long, because I was just DGing to get a Chaotic. Now it goes so much faster, because I'm focused on the levels/fun I get from DG, rather than the rewards. I think this is something most 100+ DGers can agree with.
  19. Off topic: i like how you editted that^ into your sig  I felt the need to :^_^: Anyway, let's get back on topic lol. I was actually planning on getting an Eagle-eye kiteshield, as I figured it would negate quite a bit of damage at Bandos, especially. Not anymore #-o
  20. YES way.... Arcane shield advantages aren't great: +3 magic attack (not very meaningful if you wear proper mage gear) +20 crush defense (who cares if your maging somebody with a cmaul your gonna flip sol special anyway and thats about the only weapon people use with crush that is tier 1) +3 prayer (I doubt you would notice it unless that the only prayer bonus you have) 0 range penalty (you range with it? why its for maging? Much better shields for that) Arcane shields disadvantages are very significant: No damage soak (this is significant because it stops the big hit ko's, I can't ever remember being koed on hit more than 200, probably because they coded it up wrong and apply the damage soak before figuring out if your dead or not) worth 67mil more (huge waste of time making the money to buy or getting on a drop, 4mil/gp an hr is a myth) I laughed. That's a good joke man ^ Exactly. 1. Your point about cost is absolutely wrong. You act as if Arcane's are 67m, and FSK's are free. WRONG. Learn how opportunity cost works. Even if you do consider FSK "free," it's tokens that could be used on other things. You can sell an Arcane back, you can't get a refund on your DG tokens. 2. Nobody uses SoL spec LOL. If you're a proper brid, you bring a spec weapon, claws/dds at least. People fight to kill, not to survive. 4 DDS/2 Claw specs go a lot further than blocking half a maul hit for 60 seconds in a fight. When people realise their melee attacks are halved, they will switch. That's what brids do. SWITCH. The only time I could see using a SoL special is when you are only maging. And nobody does that...It's too easily defended against. D'hide + magic protect, and your "only mage" setup just hit a brick wall. 3. As stated by people before, the soaks are barely noticeable. What difference does it make if you get hit a 500 or a 482(forget the actual value, but it was around this)? Either way, if your lp is that low, you're DEAD regardless. Try taking a trip outside of Soul Wars once in a while, things are a lot different in BH/PvP/Clan Wars. DyingSilent just ripped you to pieces. Since we're devoting a thread to this discussion, i'll post this from the actual update thread to get the ball rolling here.
  21. Bad troll is bad. But to further destroy your attempts at making any sense whatsoever, the shield is still not free if you have any sense at all (which you probably don't). If you haven't realised, chaotics when bought come with an initial 20% charge. They DEGRADE, you know that right? And what does it cost to recharge? Not hopes and dreams.....No...This costs MONEY or DG tokens to recharge. 2M gp compared to 200k DG tokens. Either way it's not free. Don't get me wrong, you can pay 200k tokens to recharge your shield (from 0), and save yourself 2m. If you do, that's your own [developmentally delayed]-ed decision. I would much rather spend it on another chaotic/ability. Therefore no, this is not "about as free as it gets." If you want a free shield, get yourself a wooden shield. Go back to Tutorial Island while you're at it. So yeah, go ahead and waste your time. No wonder your sig says "I am not Golvellius the efficient," cause you clearly are NOT.
  22. Amazing what 1 pair of FM brawls can do to your tracker rank. 87-90 Fm right there. ~2-3 hours.
  23. Hey Hey! I see my name. Gratz on 99!! Awesome. Rank 7 Smithing  Very nice!
