  1. Players who lose items due to Jagex bugs aren't satisfied either. Having this key means nothing if we aren't guaranteed our lost items back due to glitches from new updates to the game. Also why not give this key to long-term members as a bonus. Just have us pay for shipping, if you've been a member for a year you automatically get a key if you want one. The $10 cost is deceptive as it doesn't include shipping and handling and international postage could easily double the cost. I do see the extra bank space "incentive" as jagex breaking the promise they made when they changed the game due to RWT. They did say that they had considered selling RS gold or items themselves but chose not to as they thought the RS community would not like that. Now they are just using words to twist around what they are doing. Today it's bank space as an "incentive" and what will it be next time? RS gold? This is my personal opinion, as I see them changing their mind all the time. They say one thing and than do another. I remember pre-trade restrictions that a jagex mod posted on forums promising that there would be no trade restrictions.
  2. ^ Banks aren't always safe places either, some people have reported that their stuff disappears from banks. We can't not participate in bank updates. So essentially nowhere, not even the banks are safe 100% from glitches.
  3. Agreed, for once they could poll us on our opinion about an important issue that directly affects players. Let us vote on whether or not the RS community wants rollbacks for glitches that make people lose stuff. If I lost stuff or stat's due to a glitch I would want to know that Jagex would fix it even if that glitch affected only one server, not just say sorry it's our policy not to. Actively doing rollbacks would save time for Jagex, as they wouldn't have to check reports and all that for every player affected. Losing one day of play versus potentially losing lots of the work you've put into your character, it's an easy choice to make.
  4. The mod's seem to be more arrogant, defensive and rude lately. Maybe the Jagex mod's are also feeling stressed out about their jobs. It can't be fun dealing with spammers, flammers and players who complain 24/7. Before they seemed to be nicer, more relaxed, would joke around and were better at dealing with flaming and spamming on threads. Now they let so much slide that they would have stopped before, they are allowing threads to go off-topic more now I notice, while at the same time they censor much more strictly as well and tend to just lock threads fast. It's like now they draw straws to see who will the unlucky one to have to deal with the forums on a particular day then they rush in and try to clean it up as best as they can, and then they rush out with a sigh of relief. As for the guy who clearly lost 350 million, I do think he should get his gp back because there is proof, but for the house glitch people also lost phats etc. and they got nothing back even though there were vid's on youtube etc. But that was before and now that the game works so differently I think there is no reason that they can't give stuff back lost due to glitches. Also another reason to give stuff back now vs when the house glitch happened is that there are gravestones etc. So no one is risking anything anywhere almost except for pvp. They should revise their giving back stuff policy, and maybe set up a penalty that if you put in a fake report half of your wealth will be deleted. Also the main reason they avoided giving stuff back before is that there was unbalanced trade. You could have just traded someone a phat and then claimed it was "lost" due to a glitch. But now that sort of stuff is impossible. If Jagex can spend the time BANNING people or tracking down bug abusers they should be willing to spend the time recovering lost items due to their own glitches. In the meantime avoid taking items you can't afford to lose to new updates, they are too glitchy lately.
  5. At least GOPing wealth is more honourable than generating wealth through the 26k trick. I don't think earning 200k + an hour is excessive. PVP can generate so much more than that for much less work.
  6. Fine Ratchet - anyone can post on here. Actually levelling agility to 99 is pointless currently. Even at level 80 agility it's possible to continuously runecraft without running out of energy. It's currently pointless to have higher agility - if the skill was tweaked this much that it should have been upgraded to reward those who do have higher agility with perhaps more shortcuts or increased running speed. The cape is pretty but there should be benefits to levelling a relatively hard and boring skill. I'll double check with my friend but I think lvl 99 agility people still fail at elven lands. Inflation matters. Usually I don't agree with people screaming about the economy seems too much like saying the sky is falling, but the numbers don't lie. Prices are going up, and most of my gp is in coins and not items at the moment. This directly affects me. 8 million for rangers boots? The last pair I bought were less than 3 million. I remember how much fun and exciting it was to absolutely not have any idea what to do. I had whole conversations with npc's who I thought were other players. For a time I thought other players could kill me like npc's when I misclicked on them so I avoided other players. Yes I can read how to play rs, but it was funner being shown around by friends who were already playing. Strangers would even go out of their way to show me how to play. There would be someone standing in a corner of a bank offering to cut my gems, and I would let them because I thought they were performing an essential service. When I was selling items to the general store I would always peek at the items for sale as they were sold so cheaply. The game before had a truely medieval feel. There were scammers and dangers lurking back in the medieval world. This current rs has lost it's texture and adventure and excitement. The current game is too safe and too sterile and there is much less player interaction because you don't need other players help anymore. I am ranting because the game I used to play really doesn't exist anymore and it seems with each update Jagex is eroding what RS used to be. It was fun having things be hard and working for an acheivement. Cute. I'm not sure what Jagex's plans are although the current RS seems to be becoming more of a cashcow than anything.
  7. ^ I was patient with him throughout this thread. My patience has ran out. He is illogical. He is F2P - he is happy for every scrap of updates thrown to him and for him RS is perfection. My rant deals with the members portion of the game - he is welcome to post a thread on how he thinks F2P has improved His posts do not address my points - like you he was hostile, flaming and unhelpful when he can post a coherent post and when he learns to actually READ what i've posted instead of reading one line, taking it out of context and disagreeing with it then yes he will be welcome to post on my thread kthxbai
  8. I never said this and I would never encourage that. The internet is not a good place to meet anyone to date, let alone Runescape. So don't put words in my mouth and learn to read. I think what you are missing is that the people who do meet and end up liking each other on Runescape, weren't looking for someone to date online. Like happens. I think that you are confusing dating on rs with real life dating. The two are completely different and even the people who say they are rs dating are really more best friends than actual dating. It's roleplaying. It's not like this is Datescape. Shudders.
  9. I never said I never dated on RS. I don't date on RS anymore but when I started playing RS years ago, yeah I dated for fun but I was younger. It was never serious, and we still email or MSN sometimes. I don't think the original poster is serious about dating this RS girl. I'm lucky to be in a serious relationship in real life, I would never cheat on him, let alone online. I just hate when people just judge other's for dating on a game. If someone is dating or just acting like they are dating on a game who cares? Plus there are some serious relationships that have started on games, and end up being real life relationships. Have you been to a bank or GE lately? I see plenty of higher level couples hanging out there. Maybe it's the members home world I play on but I see lots of couples. My point is that the people who claim to be dating on RS tend to just be really good friends. No need to hate on it. Clearly you can't kiss a virtual girlfriend or boyfriend. Most people who are playing rs are younger though and I think that having a semi-RS bf/gf actually helps then when they are dating in real life. It helps with confidence and all that. Also, the guy friends I'm friends on RS, really helped me to understand boys more in general and my real life relationships might even be better because of this.
  10. Month 7... Less than half a year to go. I hope Jagex surprises us all by making better upgrades. (QUELMOT DO NOT post on my threads - you are spamming and your opinion is NOT appreciated.)
  11. I will continue posting my thoughts on the year of upgrades as I want to highlight that this year is shaping up to be one of the worst RS years. Ever. I don't like being negative but I want Jagex to realize that the direction they are taking RS is not a turn for the better. More games are on the market daily, we have more choices now than ever, and there will be other games that will attract our attention. RS is special, while I play rarely now, I want this game to still be a good game. I hate to see this year of updates turning into a year of downgrades. Since my last post, Jagex has tackled agility. While it's a great idea to have rest and to essentially be able to do everything faster, this update has essentially ruined the agility skill. There is very little point in training agility past the short-cuts. In my opinion killing a skill to please new players and f2p without putting in benefits for higher levels beyond clothing is just wrong. Why level agility besides a 99 cape now? Also in true jagex fashion, while they try to fix things they make things much worse like the PVP 26k trick, that is ruining the economy. It's ironic that the party room which was a beloved fixture for years on RS was removed from so many worlds while the new pvp allows wealth to be directly generated in the players account with such little risk. Another example of the illogical thinking jagex has. Also why exactly is the Grand Exchange still in beta version two years after it was created? And why take out lists that were being used by players like the most valuable items list? Again, in this year of upgrades much more seems to be taken away than is given. Also jagex continues to be out of touch with how people play their game. GOP 50/50 games were being played socially and creating community. Jagex tweaked this to disable that feature. Why exactly was that neccessary? Why change something no one was complaining about. It seems like jagex is focussed on updates that kill community on rs. It's too easy to play this game without ever interacting with anyone else. The same goes with the most valuable and most traded items lists that were on the GE database. Players were using these lists, but to jagex these lists were boring. Where do they get their ideas from? No player I know ever thought these lists were boring. And upgrades seems to be a codeword for dumbing down the game, and reducing the effort needed to play it. I can create a new account today, and it will automatically be created with advantages that took my old character a lot of time to get. This new account will have access to easier levelling, instant access to agility due to rest and the lute players, and once it reaches lvl 20 it can start to generate wealth comparable to a main character using PVP.
  12. Ignore the negativity. Runescape dating is more about hanging out with someone who is fun and who you would be interested in dating if they were present in real life because you like their personality. I see plenty of level 130+ who openly say I love you to the other character they are hanging out with. In Runescape it is more normal to date than not to. For the above poster who is being sarcastic, I do know some couple's who are married in real life who have met through Runescape, it is possible. I don't date on RS, I date in real life but I have made strong friendships with people I haven't met in real life thanks to RS.
  13. Actually I did address one of the topics of the thread, about the game evolving. It is a MULTI-TOPIC rant. A Tiger's multi-topic rant [age, gay, no life, evolving] ... ^ Clearly I agree with this. I remember when people would deliberately provoke people just to report them and get closer to a modship. So I don't agree with the provoking part. I do agree that they had no right to make abusive and hurtful comments to her. Shrugs, whiner or ranter same thing
  14. You provoked them first. Welcome to RS, there are lots of immature players and it's also because it's a computer game and they can hide behind the screen and be rude, in real life they wouldn't dare to be half as rude. You have to be living under a rock if you think there weren't big changes to RS, trade restrictions, no pking were MAJOR changes to the game and this even affected F2P, RS today is NOT the same game I was playing two years ago at all. The only way these changes could not have affected you is if you were a very new beginner player, I mean who doesn't notice the trade limits :shame: This is where I think there is a huge divide between F2P and P2P. F2P is barely updated and people there are starved for any updates or any changes. So basically F2P is more welcoming to changes. Members experience first hand changes and continuous tweaks to gameplay, and because of this we can also see that not all change is positive. If you are in F2P you will see a lot of unhappy ex-member's. F2P is a horrible limited version of the game, going from members to F2P is not fun, but because of gameplay changes a lot of people have quit from members. Those logging onto F2P are usually just logging on to chat, wcing etc. are secondary activities for them. Also you claim to have played since beginning of RS2 and your account is horrible. I could train to those skill levels in less than ONE month playing less than THREE HOURS PER WEEK. Basically your account seems like you put in 12 hours of actual gameplay... and then you say, game play is great! Those people you bashed probably put in 1000's of hours of gamePLAY. Whose opinion would I listen to?Clearly you barely play the game, you might be one of those social players. If you are using RS just as a chat room than you would care less about gamePLAY changes. To get a feel for gamePLAY changes you actually have to PLAY the game. Lame excuse. It costs less than watching a two hour movie to pay for ONE month of membership. No one says you have to be members forever or play everyday or more than you do now. It's your choice to limit yourself. I think if you had members and actually PLAYED the game. You would be complaining, instead of sitting there smugly saying "I like RS it's great." Who didn't think this til they were about combat lvl 75? It's easy to love the GE in F2P because it actually WORKS there. In members it's more complex, and it's irritating to not be able to buy items. In F2P no new items are ever introduced, so you have no experience of the frustration in trying to buy OR SELL new items whose prices are not set by players but by Jagex and the GE. For F2P the Ge meant your resources sell instantly, of course this is wonderful. In P2P there are so many unique items, and I've had things that I try to sell for weeks that just NEVER EVER sell. There is tonnes of junk floating through P2P that has value they aren't just worth 1 or 2 gp that you can throw away but they just have no market. F2P has much less junk that doesn't sell. This is but one example of an update that affects F2P positively but isn't so great on P2P. As for the agility rest update. For F2P you did get something, even if run energy also reduces twice as fast. But for P2P this update essentially nerfed the agility skill ; energy pots ; terrorbirds etc. As there is no need for these anymore. And agility does have some uses, but not as much as before this update. I think nerfing a very boring skill that some people trained to 99 is a huge problem, 99 agility players aren't even compensated by infinite run which would be fair I think. Basically from your experience, RS is great and RS works well. However the F2P game is so simple. Your very limited experience as a F2P player can't be compared to members which is more complex and where updates sometimes aren't always positive.
  15. I just wish the year of updates / upgrades were actually fuller in updates and upgrades. We've had some, but not nearly enough for six whole months. I wish jagex were more honest and just admitted that this year of upgrades is a way for them to coast by with barely working on rs or paying attention to rs while they focus on bringing out mechscape.
  16. Nice post n64jive! lol wut? Nice facts you posted but it doesn't say anything on why it's not against the jagex rules. Read my first point. Stated in Jagex rules that hints at manipulation being wrong and said earlier in this topic that mod MMG said price manipulation is a problem.[/color] Saying Jagex "hints at" or ONE MOD considers something a "problem" does NOT make it against the rules. There is no official rule that says it's not allowed and like njive64 said price manipulation ONLY has to do with threads that were used to artificially raise prices of santa hats etc. Now with the GE there are NO natural price rises, ALL price raises are artifical thats just how the GE mechanism works. Most prices are not stable post-GE, and prices do not follow natural patterns of demand that existed before the GE. The game economics are too messed up, and not all the fault or blame can be pointed to merchant clans. We shouldn't have to be forced to buy an item for an inflated price that it isn't really worth, it can take days or even weeks for an item to return back to it's original price for example with tooth halves. What is the true worth of anything? NO ONE will agree to this and someone will always overpay will another person will want to underpay. Why is it that you must have your tooth half? Are the thousands of other rs items whose price hasn't risen not enough for you? Guess what? Sometimes you will not be able to buy what you want, at that point go to the forums, offer to buy with junk and voila you get the item. Or be self-sufficient and less lazy and go and get the item yourself. And for those that complain that they aren't able to buy basic items like pots on the GE, without mercher's you STILL won't be able to. Like people have posted on this thread skillers are sitting on a lot of what they have produced because the potion prices are far too low. GE bottlenecks and not being able to buy items on the GE are GE flaws and supply and demand issues.
  17. Where in my post am I asking "them" to listen to me. I'm not posting on the RSOF am I? I'm used to being ignored by Jagex, after all I DO play runescape. My purpose in this thread was to evaluate the so-called year of updates, and compare it to what was promised vs what's is actually happening. In month six of the year of updates not much has happened. I like change, useful change would be even better. Also if you are a F2P player nothing changes much in F2P. As a member I have experienced updates that cause negative changes to the game. And that post you replied to was someone (haggisoflife) replying to my post... I don't think you meant to insult that poster? And fyi if you are replying to a post, do try to reply to the original post, and if you feel like insulting someone one or two insults work, just replying continously with insults isn't needed.
  18. : It is proven... So essentially you are saying that the people who the clan merchers are hurting are their clan members. How is this a problem then? Unless you are participating in a merchanting clan this is not a problem. And if you are posting on this thread being all anti-merch clans, then why would this be your concern? So some people in merch clan's get burned by their leaders and lose their gp... life goes on, they learn they stop clan merching. So some prices on the GE skyrocket due to clan merching, what goes up in price, does come down in price on RS. Everyday players have learned that if prices are skyrocketing they might as well sell high. Everyday players have learned that if prices are too high all they have to do is wait a bit and they will crash. SOO where exactly is the HARM in all of this? What I do see are jealous players laughing at other player's misfortunes. Clan merching is allowed, GE merching is ENCOURAGED by Jagex. There are some people saying that Jagex meant SOLO merching, how the hell can they tell that? It's a MMORPG, let's bash people who are playing TOGETHER as clan merchers.
  19. Again, no one has officially said that merch clans are not allowed in the game or even that they are doing anything wrong. By officially I mean posting it in the rules or in the game manual. Is this a joke??? The game was much more enjoyable before the RWT restrictions. Basically you want to play the game in a safe bubble, you find that enjoyable I find it boring. As an example when dragon claws came out it was impossible to buy one unless were lucky to get it as a drop. The market is horrible for new items introduced into the game. I didn't enjoy that I couldn't get a coveted item without trading some other coveted items for it. However this had NOTHING to do with merch clans, but the game mechanisms put in place by jagex. Pre-trade restrictions it would have taken less than a week to buy these by just simply overpaying for them. And don't say that I could have overpaid for them after GE 'cause I tried and no one was selling. A lot of the sellers were everyday players who didn't have a huge cash reserve to buy coveted items like third age or did not have a stockpile of junk to sell with the dclaws or people who refused to sell their item. Also for the huge number of players complaining about prices, I find that annoying. If merch clans are buying out something you need for skilling then move on to another skill that isn't so expensive at the moment. Smart players would follow the crashes to level and purchase the items crashing. Also for players crying that the values of their items have fallen, there is really no guaranteed value of an item. Also if the value of their item rises, they never complain clearly. One way jagex could deal with merchers is to freeze prices, but then again some players will hate this. I think jagex should STOP catering to spoiled players. Those who are always jealous of someone who is earning more gp than them. Or those who claim that they are patient solo merchers, but clearly lack the patience or flexibility when it comes to buying items they need for playing the game. If merchers are buying out fletching supplies move on to hunter or something. Asking jagex to make the game enjoyable by putting in MORE restrictions that will definately hurt everyday players MORE than merchers is short-sighted, selfish and unnecessary. Everyday players paid a huge price with RWT restrictions, now if more GE trade restrictions or price restrictions will be implemented, or junk trade is elimninated they will lose the few remaining loyal players they had. I just wish that players would think it through before asking Jagex to make more changes RESTRICTING gameplay. If you don't like merch clan's don't participate in it. The problem is that after the GE all prices f'd up. The blame for current prices lies with the GE, a lot of impatient players dump their goods at the lowest prices just to get a sale. You talk about "true value" but this is difficult to gauge after the GE. Pre-GE the prices were much more stable, now prices fluctuate too much. Also there are so many more rich players now who after they skill don't are about how much gp they lose and they dump their goods at lowest prices, this has impacted everyday players MORE than merch clans ever will. This is beyond sad, everyone has different game play styles. Merch clans are NOT against the rules (for now.) Honestly if this is such a problem to you, how about you quit? And anyhow this is nothing new, since RS started there's people who looked at other people's acheivements and always said "oh you bought your level 99" or whatever. Now there are people who are judging merch clans and saying "oh you hurt other players to earn your billions" As another player pointed out merch clans also do HELP players, for instance if they decided to merch herblore pots, many people who refuse to sell theirs at such low prices will now be able to sell their pots. The biggest problem I see with this whole merch clan / limproots drama is that jagex is artificially manipulating prices. The RS economy is unstable enough that I'm just concerned that if jagex continues to manipulate prices, this will just increase instability. Also, with godwars and the huge amounts of gp entering the economy, this has caused much more damage to prices than merch clans ever will. I just find it ironic that people will point to merch clans and scapegoat them for causing all the problems with the economy when the bulk of problems were created by jagex. Newsflash even without hoarding or solo OR clan merchers the GE won't always work for getting the items you want. What will be your next request? A store with every time always stocked and available at the lowest price possible? Isn't there some curse about may you get everything you wish for, and then you discover that what you wished for isn't that great? I just wish people would THINK before knee-jerk reactions. I'm just amused that someone can argue that "evil" clan merchers should be taken down but solo merchers are blameless people who never exploit other players even though they still want to profit from other people's work should be allowed.
  20. Also, it's ironic but price caps directly caused merch clans. Jagex cracked down on people solo buying out items. As with the way the GE works this was guaranteed price increases. These people were buying out heavily in demand items like rune ess and making far too much profit. After the price caps, people quickly figured out merch clans would be an effective way to manipulate prices. And so now here we are... So don't just point one finger at merch clans and accuse them of creating every problem with the GE. Personally I'd rather see the flaws with the GE fixed, and make items buyable. When GE price updates, if we already have a bid in, then the bid should roll-over to offer a higher price if we choose that as an option. Currently, this doesn't happen. And this is just one example of how the GE is flawed when you are trying to buy items. Also, it's nice to see newer quests actually provide items needed along the way mostly now, instead of causing the GE jam where everyone is buying needed items and none are selling. It makes more sense to create solutions like this to GE bottlenecks than point fingers at "merchant hoarders" Also I think that some of the people posting on this thread crying that merch clans are unfair are just jealous that someone else is earning gp so fast.
  21. By definition if you are buying large amounts of an item, CAUSING the item to rise, there is no "natural" price rise, you ARE manipulating the price to your ADVANTAGE. That is EXACTLY how the GE works, if enough items are purchased at max the price WILL INCREASE. True, and this is built into the GE with capping the number of items a solo player can purchase to prevent hoarding by solo players. For some items solo merchants may be able to buy out the entire stock especially those items that only come into the game as drops or through players (like SEEDS.) These items CAN and are easily manipulated. Maybe even by solo merchers. Honestly if Jagex cracks down on clan merchers they would have to crack down on solo merchers as well. Otherwise any crackdown would NOT work, and we'd have the situation like we had with BH where RWT'rs were easily RWT after all the trade restrictions.
  22. "Jagex is a very smart company they will be able to tell someone who merchants solo because they won't invest as much as a manipulator will because they know the item will rise. Manipulators will throw a major junk of their cash pile at an item where solo merchants will throw a part of it so they don't get burned too badly if it goes wrong. Trends happen over weeks or even months at a time, manipulators make something rise then fall over a week's period it's very easy to tell a real trend from a fake trend. Again a real merchant would understand this." This is your style of merchanting, its not every solo merchanter who does this. What exactly is a large amount of gp? Some people have far too much. This is not about jagex being smart or whatever. Clearly trade restrictions and all came about because jagex wasn't willing to go through accounts one by one to see who is cheating or whatnot. And for being a smart company they were pretty stupid about people smuggling out blood runes and addy arrows etc. The artificially low prices of blood runes didn't trigger a warning for them. Lack of new players? There are tons of new players entering the game Numbers do not lie, the total number of players playing rs now is lower than pre-GE trade restrictions. No but what I am saying is that if your whole objective merchanting is to earn money than the logical way to do this is through a merch clan. Your version of merchanting and investing seems to be really passive and you wait to earn gp, with trends where you invest only a portion of your gp. For some players a hundred thousand is a lot of gp for others they prefer 10's of million or even 100's of million profits. I agree with you that essentially merchanters WHETHER solo or through merch clans do profit off of other players work. Also I don't see where to draw the line? Why do you as a solo mercher get to sit there and pretend to be all good, and a nice guy not "hurting" another player? I think that it's relative and that the solo player also hurts other players to earn gp. After all you are profiting from someone else's hard work. If merch clans are disallowed, don't think that jagex will turn a blind eye to solo merch. A lot of people feel that the price for this was too high and that the game has suffered. Life isn't fair, runescape will never be fair. Forcing people to "do the right thing" is impossible. Some players will forever exploit changes made to the GE to profit. Also what someone see's as exploiting or manipulation someone else may see as not a problem. Are you sure someone has been perm banned for clan merching? Until that happens its within the rules whether you personally like it or not.
  23. The 26k trick has caused deflation that has ran the market for slayers and people doing mage training arena, and gdw and how many other legitimate money making opportunities into the ground!! Yeah, those horrible pvp cheaters. Let's not blame jagex for putting those drops into PVP to begin with. Let's not blame jagex for creating the rules for pvp, and allowing the 26k trick. ^ Let's blame the players for playing by jagex's convoluted rules. Let's not blame jagex for creating a flawed GE, letting the problem of inflation, buy-out's and then crashes continue for so long Let's praise jagex and laugh at the people who were burned by a clearly artificial price change on one item. Let's praise jagex for still allowing merchanting, as someone who merchanted pre-GE, this new type of merchanting is nothing at all like what it was before trade restrictions. That was merchanting, this is gambling and manipulation. Let's let jagex off the hook for not fixing the ge, for making trade restrictions and then having the sheer hypocrisy of saying that players set the price. ^ With trade restrictions price manipulating is the only way to earn gp on rs now, without going to godwars etc. But let's blame the players, no let's blame the merch clans. ^ And how exactly are the merch clan leaders the greedy ones, when there are lots of RS players willing to follow what they say about investing? The people investing are greedy as well. Solo merchers are greedy as well, both solo merchers and merch clans earn gp off of every day rs players instead of earning it themselves. The biggest problem here is jagex stepping in and manipulating and tweaking prices at will. Unstable prices impacts and will harm skillers and regular players.
  24. "addressing content added before this year" ^ Clearly, there hasn't been much added content this year, as this is the year for UPDATING existing content And yeah PVP in members did have range mage updates However PVP in F2P didn't, that's what my post pointed out. My point is that for being the year of updates, not much has happened in six months.
  25. This is MONTH 6 of the updates year, and so far this year is graded as failing. 1. Skills have not been updated or improved (DO NOT mention minor tweaks, they do not count they were adding the odd update to a skill through quests etc. forever) DO NOT MENTION SC tools - These cheapened skills, and wrecked skills more than improving anything. Especially the smithing cape, so few people had it and after SC 1000's more have this cape now. DO NOT TIE IN SKILLS TO EACH OTHER without reason, summoning was big for doing this, but penalized skillers who stay level 3 - but now that summoning exists, its only fair that if you have a 99 skill you should be able to unlock the summon monster for that skill, these monsters wouldn't give the combat exp. just the skill boost, like if you had 99 herblore you could get a macaw for the herbs What I would like to see for skills: Update the exp points for certain skills, currently we all train using the "fastest and cheapest" method which means that lots of areas of a skill are neglected - currently skills are innovative and offer a variety of ways to level but the other ways to level are ignored becuase it's not good exp, especially in skills like hunter, chinchompa's are boring, but the skill is so rich that its a pity people don't lvl using other ways unlocking more with skills as your level goes higher, this doesn't have to always mean new things to make, but maybe giving more experience bonus's as well if you are higher level in a skill Expanding some skills that have been neglected, such as smithing, or firemaking and making these useful again. STOP making it easier to gain level 99 in a skill, instead focus on making each skill richer and more rewarding, especially the original older skills which haven't been updated in forever Make skills earn gp instead of losing gp, even if that means bringing in more NPC's that buy skiller produced items at good prices 2. CONTINUATION of favouring mellee Corrupt dragon drops in PVP F2P only give mellee an advantage as usual magic and range are not factored in Slayer mask provides boosts only for mellee, not magic or ranger, this needed to be fixed ever since this slayer mask was introduced, instead we are in month 6 of the update year and no sign of any updates. Sort out the combat triangle, give us more hp its clearly needed 3. STOP ruining your own game PVP drops have ruined huge sections of the game, which will now be deserted, such as Dag Kings etc. Keep monster drops as monster drops, and maybe just give pvp straight up cash rewards if they aren't willing to make new pvp only items besides corrupted. 4. DESERTED AREAS OF RS this is MONTH 6 of the update year and the poll's are about naming a pub??? HuH?????! While the pub is in the middle of nowhere what about the enormous area's of RS that are neglected. Why not give exp bonuses in deserted areas or put in special events once a week in one of the town's of rs... there is so much they can do creatively if they so wished minigames --- there's so many that are just never played either because the drops are now pvp or there are better and easier methods to train, why not tweak the exp or something for these but also cap the exp - so it would give great exp but you could only do the mini-game for half an hour max or something daily 5. COMMUNITY? WHAT community?! Where is the promised clan support? Clan chat... big deal. With the lack of random's I've noticed that most players are now afk especially while skilling.THis problem is huge in F2P especially. YOu can be at trees and there will be silence as everyone wcing is also doing something else. Congratulations jagex for making it so we never have to interact with anyone else, ever. 6. New updates WRECKING old content and skills Stop doing this, new updates should build on and improve old content not just ruin it, there is so much ignored and abandoned content on rs, its not even funny 7. New updates that are IGNORED because they don't improve on prior items, or content why make yet another set of low level armour or robes when there are already so many items that people aren't using why make another agility course that will never ever be used outside of the quest? stop wasting time with pointless updates while ignoring what does need to be done 8. FINISH quests, finish creating items that were demanded from players for ages We want to go into the elf cities, we want crystal halberds, we want to know what happens (thanks for letting us find out what happens to zanik) but what about the original rs quests? wrap some up before rolling out new quests 9. STOP listening to players / STOP changing like the sea with each CEO NOt that Jagex ever really does listen to players, but Jagex needs to plan and figure out what they want their game to be and what needs to be done. jackjonson wrote: Agree this is more of what I meant, to filter player feedback. I hate to say this but the game was much stronger and better content-wise, and even for skills the first few years that Jagex didn't really listen to players. Of course players will whine for easier skills and easier leveling, but now it's so hard to gauge accomplishment in RS. Phat's are cheap, lvl 99 capes are bought, even combat lvl is harder to gauge because of summoning. I remember when combat 126 was an accomplishment before gilded alters or ecto. Now I see a combat 135+ and it's not a big deal. It's just not the same level of respect or acheivement. We want good suprises, we want you to make things we haven't even thought of yet or aren't expecting. Set a goal for a new skill at least each year if not two. There just needs to be lots more content added but with thought. STOP changing like the sea with each CEO Great so the new CEO has new visions, but really how much does he know about RS the game or the community etc. to be able to make decisions and changes for us? We want more stability than CEO's who are here, make changes then leave, and new ones come in make promises, and then are just missing in action. The game was much better with Andrew guiding it.
