I have 6 chaotics (rapier, maul, longsword, eagle eye shield, crossbow, staff) and I find myself reaching for the rapier most often. It's accurate, hits hard, and is fast at the same time. On task with turmoil and extremes I can hit well over 600 with the rapier (while the maul is much slower and will max at 800 ish) The maul is awesome for PvM. In an anti crash situation (bandos in specific) you can get a claw spec and 1 maul hit in before the boss dies. This allows you to save half of your special attack bar and still get in a hit that can potentially do over 800 damage.

Most efficient way of raising Herblore from 80-90
Mini_Spawn replied to cocacolabottle's topic in Help and Advice
I personally bought the dungeoneering reward and did saradomin brews. When the scroll activated I saved a crushed nest which was approx 2/3 of a potion. Saradomin brews should be faster than creating ranging potions and they sell well. They're probably not the most efficient route but the expereince/hr was good, The potions sold quickly, and I was left with an excess of crushed nests (which were at the time nearly 10k ea) -
q1: your first bind is a weapon. Either the highest 2h sword you can use or a maul if your strength is much higher than your defence. The warhammer really has no benefit to you as the 2h can crush and slash the same way the longsword does. There aren't many monsters weak to stab (brutes i know right off the bat), but a 2h with berserker can deal with them effectively. Your second bind has to be a shadow silk hood. It hides you from humanoid monsters during the dungeon (meaning skeletons and zombies and the like are no longer aggressive until you're spotted by a mage.) So if you choose to bind 2 weapons or a weapon and a platebody you're at a huge disadvantage. q2: I didn't really understand anything you said there. For the fastest xp you do small complexity one dungeons for floors 1-30 and large 5:5 dungeons until max. If you choose to do small complexity 6's you will not be getting your max xp/hr but if you're just dungeoning for fun have at it (:

If it matters that much to you you can use zerker for the fight and swap to row for killing blow. a lot more clicks though

phishing site from a yt vid i think. He didnt admit to that at the time which is why I flipped out.

This was entirely done on the second computer, happened because my brother posted his acc name on a youtube video. Nothing more. After chanign his password he did it again as a test and was immediately hacked again. anybody know how this works?

My brothers account was just hacked from a computer approximately 2 days old. They immediately gained access to his bank pin (probably because it was low numbered). he's now lost everything from his account. I am the oldest of 4 boys and all of us play runescape. My brother was a fairly high leveled player and the only one to use that specific computer, the rest of us play on a different computer. Personally I've traded all valuables to a friends account for the time being and a virus scan is running. The immediate search of my history turned up no suspicious sites. I'm not sure which computer was used when a faulty site was accessed. I'm fairly worried that my account has now been jeopardized. While I wont lose anything valuable in terms of gp I am well over 100 dungeoneering and have 6 chaotics that I'm worried I'm going to lose. There has only been 1 account hack so far, my other 2 brothers accounts havent been touched (that I am aware of). Is there more that I can be doing right now? I have no idea how this happened. I personally go on no suspicious sites. Any advice that is not trolling is useful.

Interesting. I'll take a look at it thank you.

This is false. C6 small for furnished floors with even duoing (with a good partner) is comparable exp/hr to c6 large abnd2's. This doesn't make any sense. No number proof is given at all and because the giver of the info is 76 dungeoneering I'm more than a little skeptical His dungeoneering level has nothing to do with what knowledge he has. C6 smalls are comparable to large abds in terms of xp per hour. It just requires that you have a good team, otherwise it is too slow to be worth it. I believe that there is a tie between dungeoneering level and knowledge of the skill. With such a complex skill I believe it takes experience to become knowledgable. I clearly lack the experience with these c6 smalls but no actual data was given. Avg time per small x xp per small = how much an hour? and this is compared to what kind of a large 5 man team? A 3bo team or a 117 team? I can do 2 large abandonded dungeons an hour and will get approx 125k-150k exp for those two floors at 102 dungeoneering and 51 prestige accounting for my usual amount of deaths. I Imagine a small can be done in maybe 7 minutes which would mean 9 ish an hour assuming a row so each small would need to be 13.8k xp. This woud require very few to no deaths, moving quickly, and a row of 9 floors, which is fairly difficult to find. Whereas c1s 1-30 are easy to find in w148 and a row of 100+ abandonded floors are also fairly easy to find. I feel like the information given is unsupported. Furthermore with the sources of the info both being fairly low leveled dungeoneers I find it difficult to believe that you have a team capable of doing a row of 9 smalls efficiently to obtain the rate of xp required to outmatch or equal 2 large floors.

I don't get how this is AFK. you clicked the monkies constantly. you also didn'tgive any written information. Sorry- but I'm not impressed.

Chaos runes will be more cost effective but slower xp/hr. Bloods/deaths will be higher xp/hr but cost more gp/xp. I'm not sure I'd use defensive casting at castle wars as a reliable source of magic training. there's little return for your rune costs and no guarantees on xp/hr because everyone you attack will have a different magic level/defence bonus. Perhaps you could look into maging metal dragons with chaos gauntlets?

I'm not at all going to claim to be well experienced at nex, but I feel like I've done enough there to answer most of your questions. To avoid the " no escape" attack you need to be standing off the center of the symbol of zaros. this way you will only be hit 25% of the time by the attack. All teams I've been on have completed the first phase standing in the center of the arena, so I can't give a better answer than this. I keep auto retaliate off during the shadow phase, so I can better avoid the shadow spots. If you are standing on someone elses shadow spot as the animation begins you will be hit, but you can run over it after the animation has begun. I have died once during the final phase, what happened was I ran in and shortly after that the spawning ceremony began where she summoned her mages. I was able to retrieve all of my belongings during this period. I then teleported out and ran back. Nex spawned and then disappeared, when my team ran in all together she repeated the ceremony. If you log out during the ceremony it delays nex spawning, im not sure why. Nex only spawns if someone is in the arena with her. Otherwise she disappears. I'm not sure how long it takes her to disappear if say a whole team teleports out mid kill. hopefully this helps a little (:

Are you sure? We don't mention this on the itemsDB page for the ring of wealth, and the game update for the RoW doesn't mention charms either. Mini_Spawn, thank you for taking the time to report this, and sorry for sending you on a fruitless trek to the Frozen Fortress. Assuming your kill speed in the fortress and the ancient cavern is about equal, your sample provides pretty solid evidence that the drop rate in the fortress is indeed a bit lower. Was the difference in charms gathered caused by a lower charm drop-rate (taking into account the x2 charm drop) or by the fact that your kill rate is simply a bit lower in the fortress due to limited spawns and whatnot? I was getting faster kills at the fortress. there were absolutely no crowds and the room I was in had 3 spawns very close to each other, I just went in a circle killing them all and picking up drops between hits of the chaotic maul. The drop rate of crimson charms was much lower (2 charms every 5-7 kills). When I'm in the ancient cavern at peak times i struggle to get kills quickly because there's more people and the waterfeinds have a wider roaming range.

Ring of vigour for both.

The following quote is taken from the monster hunting guide on waterfiends: Frozen Fortress Waterfiends in the Frozen Fortress drop two charms at a time, but do not drop them as frequently. They offer the same charm rates as other Waterfiends, 2.5% more xp per damage, but there are not as many spawns and they are out of the way. - End quote On a character with maxed melee, extremes, turmoil wearing the following gear: Elite void Amulet of fury Chaotic maul Dragon boots Ring of vigour Soul wars cape I killed waterfiends at Ghorrock for a half hour and obtained 36 crimson charms, using turmoil the entire time and repotting at 117 att/strength, soul split flashing to heal. My charm rate at the ancient cavern is approx 110 per hour or 55 for the same time frame using the same setup and method. The monster hunting guide says they offer the same charm rates but I received a considerable amount less at the frozen fortress/ghorrock. This is not ground breaking but I wanted to try to get away from the crowds in the ancient caverns... but alas ):

I was under the impression that their ranged attack was poisonous- meaning when you use protect magic at a distance you can become poisoned. However this might be incorrect and is just an something I observed while killing revenants

Look into barrows gloves and a fire cape. Both will require you to buy new gear etc that you can resell after you get them. You also need a fury and a berzerker ring, as well as a bandos chestplate. If getting a rapier is out of the question then consider adding a whip vine to your whip to make its stats better. When you save up enough money for a skill milestone that relates to combat (86 herblore to boost for extremes, 70 prayer) etc, then sell what gear you have to to purchase this. The fury and berserker ring should be your top priority because they add the most offensive bonuses. Most monsters that are assigned as slayer tasks don't hit hard/often so high defence isnt necessary. Using a bunyip or enhanced excalibur is usually enough

^^ this was level 70 about 3 weeks ago. FTW! -
Dragons are all weak to stab so use korasi's. I believe they're also magic resistant barring metals being weak to fire magic. I feel like claws would be the better option for a special attack.

Thanks. I'm starting out with terrobirds. Would you happen to know the best way to buy shards? I bought 10k in the g.e, but I put the offer in for 20k. They buy, but not in the numbers I need it seems. Buy from another player, or buy only a little at a time. There's a Grand Exchange limit to what you can buy every 4 hours. you seem to have hit it. SUmmon for a few hours and you'll get more. or you can trade pouches for shards at bogrog near castle wars. I believe summoning shops also sell shards in packs. I'm not sure if there's a limit on those. Give the taverly shop a visit (:
