  1. I'm ignoring the capchas bit because you ignored most of my arguments against them, and them singling out solorblind players is a big problem. Okay, I'm going to make a bunch of questions, ready? -I like cabbages. What do I like? -What letter does this sentence start with? -If I like cabbages what do I like? -Does a person who likes cabbages like cabbages? -If the answer is "yes" what is the answer? -What number comes after 2? -What is the third letter in the alphabet? -If I am an elephant, what am I? -If elephants run by, what ran by? The only things that stopped me from making more is that I'm a slow typer. Chnaging the wording of the question even slightly would screw bots over (the wording of the template, that is), and after enough templates can be sued, they could even be repeated occasionally. After all, as long as Jagex doesn't SAY that it's repeating templates, it would be ahrd to find out, and thus a botter would have to be truly dedicated (keep a list of every question thusfar and program bots to answer ALL of them). And even then the bot would STILL be caught most days and thus never be able to reach high skill levels or profitability. Jagex could literally tell four of their employees (literally any would work) that they'd get a small bonus for making up five unique questions a day each. Jagex would then pick one question from each one and implement it, and save the other sixteen for future use. Hell, jagex could probably even egt away with putting the questions on loop, as long as it was a 1 year+ long loop, they lied through their teeth about it, and they were ready to mix things up if the loop was cracked. And I'll likely be posting this on the RSOF tomorrow. (Is 1400 skill total enough for a F2Per to post on the RSOF?) EDIT: Jonanananas, your signature is setting off my antivirus

Judging that I'm about 60% that a gay guy at my school is crushing on me, I may need to. And because I realized this could be an amusing story: So I'm at a meetup/roleplay with several friends at a park. One's pretty much my closest friend, and him and another guy are flirting like mad*. ("Another Guy" will be referred to as "Star Wars", as he is named after a character from that.) The other people there are a couple and a guy who's celebrating his birthday. So I show off the chainmail for a while, and then we eventually move into a roleplay. However, it quickly degenerates into "try to steal TTanT's chainmail because he's carrying it rather than wearing it." The main eprson doing this is Star Wars. However, Male member of Couple also does some, although he was roleplaying as a thief so that explains it. Anyways, Star Wars is heavily into Parkour, and also really confident in himself, so he underestimates me constantly and I don't have too much trouble throwing him around like a ragdoll. However, he KEEPS [bleep]ING TRYING. He even moves on to my bike as time progresses. At one point he grabs the chainmail while it's lying around and puts it on. I have to go at this point so I ask him for it back. He challenges me to wrestle him for it, so I (who am kind of getting annoyed at this point),shove him into the ground by his neck and lean my knee into his stomach while choking him until he gives up. So I let him up, and he proceeds to run off and CONTINUE STEALING MY STUFF. Towards the end I get sick of it and pull him in a semi-headlock, and and he groped my groin as I let him go. I don't know if it was an actual grope or an accident or not, though. Also at one point after I flipped him over or something he said "Let me have your children." And yesterday he tried to shove pictures of him in drag in my face. So yeah, I'm not sure but I may have a male crushing on me. Fun stuff. *Yeah, I have a lot of gay friends. And before I'm accused of stroking my e-peen0r with this post, keep in mind the people I was throwing around were a gay roleplaying nerd who runs away as a sport, and a fat roleplaying nerd. I'm the physically able, but socially awkward roleplaying nerd.

THANK YOU I've been wodnering what the name of that was for ages.

  8. Adding the questions to random events would mean possibly ruining an afk player, or otherwise merely delaying the bot until it's owner decided to check in on it and answer the question. Captchas can be decoded by bots, and as far as I know Jagex actually sued captchas once and it failed miserably. Unique questions however can only be answered with a sense of reasoning that can only be accomplished by living beings and the highest tiers of computers (which it's safe toa ssume will not be what bot crators have access to, due to the sheer amount of computing power required). Having the players "choke" bots is a simple way to overcome the man hour issue. Players will enjoy finally being able to fight for their resources, and massive choking attacks on botting areas could be organized. As for the possibility of trolling, being choekd once every 10 mintues doesn't sound terribly annoying to me, and it's unlikely that a bot qould be made for that purpose, as there is simply no benefit in using one for gold selling sites and the like (and one could simply choke the choking bot to knock it out of business). IOf players could only be choked once every 8 hours, there is a high chance that gold farmers would simply log into all of their bots once evry 8 hours and get themselves choked (whether using multilogging or another goldfarmer) to gain immunity. Judging by the massive lengths many community members currently go to to combat bots (Karamja scorpion luring and ranged guild luring? I think this would be effective enough). And as I said earlier, captchas can easily be subverted by bots, and thus would have to be constantly altered, which requries far more effort than simply having a Jagex developer thinking of a new obvious question everyday. "55+72=992 Now what number how many times did the numeral 5 occur in that equation?" <-albeit the language used in that example may be too high tier, but you egt the point that millions of random obvious questions could easily be made. It's simply a simpler solution, and one that requires less long term programming overall.
  9. ...I once confused the words "jew" and "yew." Yeah, it didn't end that well.
  10. TF2 servers in which people abuse power annoy me like heck. <_< People ar eegtting kicked every two secodns for no reason, and I tell them to "stop [bleep]ing kicking everyone" and am told to apologize, lest they kick me. I refuse to apologize for that, and they try 2 votekicks which both fail, and then a third which finally works. Raaaggggeee
  11. Well as far as that goes Jagex can play it by ear. If bots start increasing in number, then change the question format straight away.
  12. Brilliant. This works way better than my idea, okay. I'll be changing the main post soon to accommodate this.

I found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yyxm_5NETk&feature=player_embedded and the Facebook group involved with it. It sounds outlandish to me, but since I'm not knowledgable enough about this stuff to debunk it, I figured I'd post here and see what you guys thought.
  16. Real pros get 200mil exp worth of agility tickets, then get their agility level reset for botting, then cash in the tickets.
  17. Hehe, rubbers. Ohh, America. Though, this does remind of something a little more on topic. Freshman year in my geography class, a kid brought a condom into class and stretched it over his head. He got it down to his nose, and then blew it up. LOOOOOOOOOOL, my brother did that once too, but that was years and years ago, Sophomore year, some kid filled one with lotion and hung it up on the teacher's board. She swatted it down with a ruler, and for WHATEVER REASON, proceeded to squish it and ooze all the lotion out.. In sixth grade, some guys got another annoying kid to blow a condom up like a balloon because he didn't know what it was. I'm from New Zealand, not America. That was the point. Unless you actually were throwing condoms at people in your class. Oh ok then, to clear up: we were throwing erasers at each other. Well that changes everything.
  18. He means he thinks of himself as a female, I think. Either that or that he relates with females mroe than he does with males. I'm not sure, but I think it's the former.

Stop double posting you noob
  20. I haven't heard many comments on the changes I made, so... Do you guys think this could work without getting annoying? As far as I know, a bot can't "think" and figure out the answer to a unique question (well, Runescape bots anyways). So assuming that Jagex was willing to make new questions daily, and so all the neccessary programming to set this in motion, would it severely reduce or even stop woodcutting bots, fishing bots, and any other bots that don't operate in highly dangerous areas? *If bot makers make a bot formula to detec t a sentence structure Jagex has been using, Jagex can always change its serntence structure as well. Also keep in mind that if this is kept up for several months, botter would slowly start to give up, and questions could be chanegd slightly less frequently. And Gabe, why would being choked only once per day be considerably betetr than ocne every ten minutes? No-one will hound you long enough to choke you every ten minutes, I think. And even if they do it shouldn't be too hard to stop.

  24. No-one can motivate you but yourself. No amount of advice will help you there, I think. You just have to egt up and do it. And as for something being "not good enough" that's crap. Every time you do something incorrectly, you just learned a little. Every mistake teaches you, and thus does not waste time. As an exercise to force yourself to do something to completion: Go draw the Last Supper. Draw it as badly an incorrectly as possible. Let your imagination and sense of humor/ sarcasm/ nastyness go wild. Then upload it here so that we can see it. By completing the drawing you're showing that you can see things through to the end. By making it crappy, you're showing that something doesn't need to be eprfect to be worthwhile. By uploading you'll hopefully be supplying us with enjoyment. Failing that, do pushups until you can't any more. (If you can't do a regular pushup, do pushups on your knees, or do pushups at an angle so that you're putting your hands on the edge of a sink or something which makes them easier, but maintains the correct form [albeit slanted].) Basically, do something, and see it through. Then the next day do it again, slightly better. On the third day do it even better. Within a month you'll be decent, regardless of what you choose.
