  1. First post has been updated. More is coming.
  2. My brother has completed over 100 level 3 clues and screened all of the rewards. Perhaps I could make a list of his rewards (not right now because I have homework). :???:
  3. I've heard that the street price for a purple phat was in the mid 300's. Since the GE price is currently 330M, should it be buyable soon over the GE? I wouldn't think phat owners would want to hassle with junk trading if the street price is near the GE price.
  4. I'm sure we are all already familiar with the many bugs and glitches associated with the new skill Dungeoneering, the most notorious being the exp glitch resulting the the rollback.. Anyway, I was looking at the various items in Daemonheim and wondered what would happen if any got out (smuggled). Lo and behold, a few hours later I discover that someone has dropped some argonite and fractite arrows in the party room chest. Later someone showed me an argonite arrow in a trade at the GE. I also found a picture (posted here on Tip.it (not mine)) of someone wearing various Dungeoneering armors in the Daemonheim lobby area. So what if some of the bigger stuff gets out? :ohnoes: Any thoughts? [hide] Btw, I remember that when Stealing Creation first came out, the sacred clay arrows were listed in the GE and I put offers to buy but none ever sold. They even changed in price until they were removed. Also, it's interesting to note that the argonite arrow in the trade has a value of 320 gp. However after the drop party some people claimed that they bought the arrows from other players and that they simple disappeared from their inventories after the trades were completed. So I'm not sure how stable these smuggled items are.[/hide] UPDATE: I found an even larger drop of dungeoneering items in the party room. This time there were many armors and weapons. Interestingly there were also duplicates of several runes that apparently are not stackable (airs, bloods, and deaths in the chest). I managed to get some Novite arrows. Here are some of their properties: -Tradable -Bankable -If you log out they do NOT disappear (from either bank or inventory -NOT equipable -If you drop on the ground they disappear -Bindable -Once bound they become untradable, unbankable, and undroppable (must be destroyed) Crazy arrow version: [hide][/hide] My conclusion is that although these items can get out, they do not seem to pose a threat since they cannot be used (equipped). Since I did not get any weapons or armor, I cannot confirm whether or not they are usable. However, a black appears to have formed for these items and some players are reportedly paying a lot of money for them. UPDATE #2 I purchased a Katagon chainbody from another player who got it in the party room. It has the same properties as the arrows. But it does have a significant trade value. These items are appearing more and more frequently now in drop parties. I believe the secret of getting them is out now. Although they cannot be used in combat, they represent quite a bit of money if someone was able to smuggle out a full inventory of it (I hear the street prices are quite high as well). I fear that they will be used to scam noobs and potentially get them in trouble for possessing this contraband. By now Jagex must be aware of what is going on. As such I am discarding my dungeoneering items and submitting my bug report. This will be my last update to this post but feel free to discuss this issue. UPDATE #3 (Sorry I lied about not updating) These items are alchable for the values shown!!! I foresee possible abuse of this bug to quickly make a bunch of money, assuming that the bug can be reproduced quickly. STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!! :shame: I am positive that Jagex will act quickly to stop this and possible take action against players who abuse this bug.
  5. I'm not sure sure I understand Jagex's thinking. There have been some major bugs and glitches in the past, some which still affect the RS community today (Classic rares dupe for example). But there was no rollback for those. I wonder if the guy who messed up the exp rates got in trouble :shame: And I better not lose the free mil I got from the party room last night
  6. Did you hear about the guy who got a partyhat from the party room? He go mugged the moment he left . . . Crime is getting our of control in Fally :ohnoes:
  7. Yes many people hoard and sometimes many many rares. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMTV05gWoHU Note that this was posted over 6 months ago. 20 bil+ profit (1-2 bil per day!) in that price jump 6 weeks ago :ohnoes:
  8. Aren't the prices determined mostly by the players? So if the merchants own most of the rares, circulate most of the wealth, and are the driving forces behind most of the RuneScape economy, wouldn't their prices be the "right" price (since they appear to be in control)? On a side note, is there any chance of my noob account getting a green phat someday (or will they climb forever)?
  9. They should release sailing as the new skill on April 1st. It would be perfect. The public's reaction would be phenomenal. Forums would explode, riots would spark all over, conspiracy theorists will come out in mass saying "I told you so!" The whole range of emotion will be expressed, from praise to rage. But the best part comes later when they all realize its not a joke . . . mwahahahahaha
  10. I thoroughly enjoyed both articles. With regard to the first, I really hope (perhaps wishful thinking) that the general RuneScape population is starting "to get it" when it comes to these updates (a sign of a maturity). As for the second, very well written and quite entertaining. Best stuff I've read in a while! Keep up the good work. ~Numismaster~
  11. I don't normally travel much, so I rarely die. As such I've forgotten how dangerous RuneScape can be, until about a month ago . . . when I died doing the "Icthlarin's Little Helper" quest . . . with nearly my whole bank on me . . . GF 52M :wall:
  12. Since Mod Raven is new to the content team, Jagex can't just "give him the reins" so to speak and let him work on a major piece of content. He doesn't have the right experience yet to handle that responsibility. So Jagex assigned him to write an easy short article on a small, and as you put it, "pointless" update to get his feet wet. It's like any other newbie fetching coffee, answering phones, inputting data, etc at his new job. Just be patient and I'm sure we'll see heavier content coming from Mod Raven. :)
  13. Sorry about the broken link :( Here is the quick find code: 17-18-412-60444897 Edit: above link has been repaired
  14. I came across this today and I thought you guys might find it interesting (if you haven't already seen it before). :) Rares Street/Price Thread! Is it accurate?
  15. [hide] Am I the only one that doesn't see how that's a fail? Its within itself is an advert Not really a fail, more of just a coincidence... you would think the amount of skills would be listed. I think the major fail is the fact Jagex are a British company so the price should be displayed in £ pound sterling not dollars.. Toad is correct. I was so surprised when the lobby came out that they did have the $ instead of £....... makes no sense :( Still a British company though <3: And with the DFS arguement I <3 it :D the defence is epic though I don't need it :^_^: but i lobes it. And it does look awesome tbh ;) [/hide] I believe that most of RuneScape's player base lies in the United States and that's why they used the "$" but I could be wrong . . .
  16. Has the purpose of the lower rares changed? From my limited experience it seemed that masks and santas used to be just expensive costumes or long term investments. However today these rares seem to be primarily used to offload merching junk. To me it looks like santas/masks are losing their intrinsic value (cosmetic appeal) and are gaining merchant value (purchasing power). Why does this matter? Well, these rares used to be quite affordable and often a goal for lower level players. With "normal" demand, these items remained relatively stable and fairly well circulated. However recently, and especially after the mint cake nerf, these rares have been used to get rid of crashing junk. After a price manipulation, big time merchants buy out all santas/masks and bundle them with the merchanted items. In the process, these rares skyrocket in price. This means that rares should increase (cyclically) in price until they are unaffordable by the general public, thus transforming them into a form of "currency" that only the weathly mechants use. In a way, we are losing these rares to merchanting faster than we are losing them by quiters and death losses. It saddens me to see this part of Runescape history disappear . . . Below is a picture describing what I believe to be a turning point in the availability and function of the santa hat (I only have the most recent merch highlighted since I feel it is enough to support my argument and I don't remember the older ones). [hide][/hide] If I have completely missed the point, feel free to reply (I've only been playing RS for around 2.5 years).
  17. I don't know if you guys realize this, but I'm willing to bet that Jagex has tried to download nearly every bot that is available on the internet, including the pricey ones. That's probably why they feel so confident in their macro-detection systems. Remeber, if it's available to you, it's available to Jagex too.
  18. [hide] Its an overused term for someone who tries hard/is smarter than the other And a tad hypocritical You're obviously easily offended. Om nom nom. Stop being eaten. [/hide] Personally I find the term "nerd" to be a compliment (it's usually used to insult smart people :^_^: )
  19. Spot the glitch 0.o? Warning very large picture: [hide][/hide] Actually this is just a compilation of all the glitches I've seen (plus a couple that aren't really glitches, but I needed space fillers :-$ ) And here is a bunch of shots of me flipping various items using the candy cane. Warning very looong picture: [hide][/hide] I loved the candy cane glitch . . .
  20. How does he have 99 hits with such low stats? does this mean there are gonna be new ways to level your hits skill without gaining any other xp? Actually I believe this is an imaginary character (how could you possible get 99 slayer with these combat stats???)
  21. Pretty sure you won't be able to do that, it will just take the old hits and multiply them by 10, so you can only hit in intervals of 10, not 1. Here we see hits that are not in 10's. This pic of 99 Constitution from the KB shows 990 as max life points.
  22. So basically the double exp weekend is a giant scavenger hunt to find the shattered heart statue pieces. This involves every skill . . . the new skill involves every skill . . . the completed statue is the gateway to the new skill? Or a teaser? The only problem I have with this theory is that Shattered Hearts is mem :wall:
