Wilderness and free trade vote! - Now Closed
I thought they were only letting 'veteran'-players have free trade and Wild-privileges. They changed their mind in +- 2 days? Yesterday a 'no'-option was promised, so, where is it? I don't like being lied to...

Extremely expensive items vs. free trade
Damn, why did I buy those 2 santas hoping for some long term profit :(. I don't see any logical reason for them to crash really. 4 santas here, bought one extra last week. :ohnoes:

I never had that problem, my stock holds me self-sufficient for several weeks. But your point: You could always buy that item with junk, so availability never was a problem if you wanted to pay extra. (you could even sell or lend out the junk you bought, thus getting that wanted item at trade price) Now you would have to pay extra and the extra goes 100% to the price manipulator. With no ways of getting your item at GE-price.

Prepare for hearing that sentence a lot more in the future then. Now they have to choose an item, start buying it out, wait several weeks for the price to rise and then sell. Without price ceilings, they buy out and are able to sell immediately. Notice the text in bold please.

That is my whole point, this will make it 10x easier to manipulate prices and gain from it.

Oldtime merching without restrictions nor price ceilings WITH the ease of buying your stock in the GE. And you think this won't mess up the market... (ever heard of price manipulation? those manipulators have more cash than ever before in their hands to play the market)

You said it, rarely, why would a regular player sell an item with street (like a rannar weed for example, 7k in ge, 10k 'street') in trade when they don't have junk? -> they would not even bother and sell in GE. If trade restrictions are gone, why would a regular player sell them in GE when they can have 10k pure cash in trade? -> messes up GE imo...

Well, the grand exchange will still exist regardless of how they choose to go, if that helps your decision. :P But probably will be <bleep>ed up even more with all the trades only happening outside of it. (items with high-street won't be sold in GE anymore) Positive? Items which are bought out will be sold with useless items or for an insane price, other way around for items that are crashing. At least manipulation clans had to wait several days/weeks for the price to rise, with the risk of pre-dumping. What will happen now you think?

There were not that many elaborate MMORPG's back then. Sure it was more popular, people had no choice. (same goes for the poll)

My opinion is right, <bleep> the rest? Good point. Free trade won't increase the number of bots, noooo... And you think willderness and free trade will make RS as popular as it once was? Sure thing, mate, definitely gonna happen.

No, not really... They're bringing it back anyhow it seems. This is supposed to be a game aimed for adults and they want us to vote like this? Half of my friendlist is entering the names of everyone on their friendlist... <_< "The Wildy is dead, and long may it stay so! Can't stand the thought of a return to the days of free trade, the original wildy or the problems associated with it, make sure you get everyone who feels the same way to boycott this vote. If the majority of players don't vote in favour Jagex won't bring it back. Will the silence be deafening?" How exactly can I prevent +- 50 people from entering my name??? I might even quit because of stuff like this, just think of the way we're being treated for the last year(s)... :wall:

Life Point Boosting armour (TORVA)
I don't think so, for instance Fish Flingers was severely bugged ever since the start. They fixed some of the bugs after a couple of months, but even the ammount of xp handed out at the end is stil bugged. This from day one. If they played their own game, they would know such things imo. With food healing more and more lp, won't Elysian become more attractive to use? This compared to Divine.

Life Point Boosting armour (TORVA)
Snakeskin, frog leather, splitbark, infinity, brine saber, barrelchest anchor. Shall I go on? Most of those armour pieces are guite old... Snakeskin in 2005 Splitbark in 2004 Infinity in 2006 Brine sabre in 2007 Barrelchest anchor in 2007 Something in the last three years maybe? Not saying they don't do this, just can't think of any... #-o I mentioned Dragon plate. Chaotic shields were released alongside with other chaotic stuff which is best. Dark bow was (and maybe is) best ko weapon for rangers?
-
Life Point Boosting armour (TORVA)
When released, almost all armour/weapons I can think off were best in its kind. (spirit shields, bandos, chaotics, barrows, claws, ...) Godswords are debatable in comparison to whip and not including show-armour like dragon plate/3rd age.

Frozen door (New)
True. Earthquake-ish at first, and a voice if you try to open it.

Life Point Boosting armour (TORVA)
Safe Clan Wars where people fight in best gear is one place that comes to mind. Also: brews heal lifepoints with 15%, this armour would mean brews heal more per sip? Just speculation though... :???: If it does have terrible low defense bonuses, there is no reason at all to use it, correct. (but why would they release subpar armour, most likely with the long-awaited smithing update)

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
Internet bank accounts get hacked too, in 99% of the cases banks refund the money lost without hesitation because they want to avoid public attention. True. But since Jagex (in most occasions) has an entirely different opinion on the definition of 'veteran' or 'high lvl' I have my doubts. :???:

17-Dec-2010 - Players' Gallery: Winter Special
I did! And they are still below med I think, so I could have waited a couple of days to buy. Oh well, they're a longterm-investment... Grats on the purchase btw, I hope they're going up soon if it is a shortterm-investment with you.

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
I think that comment refers to me so I'll take the courtesy to respond. RWT-measures work to some extent, on most RWT-sites you have to give your pass/pin in order to receive millions on your account. This is a step too far for some kids. Putting our accounts at more risk equals to being responsible to you? How exactly? Even the best virus scanners can't detect every keylogger and a bank pin is handy if the hacking-program isn't taking screenshots with every mouseclick. Being responsible is one thing, assuming that every person has a high knowledge of computer programs (like you probably do) is another. btw: if you feel the urge to 'mock' people and call them a sissy, can't you fulfill that urge on another forum?

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
I know, a friend of mine was hacked a few weeks ago. His cash was still there, yellow was gone. (which I believe is going for 400-500 on some sites) Free trade would make this kind of stuff worse imo. His whole bank would have been gone. (and the scammer would have made maybe 1000 with hacking his account) More incentive -> more hacking attempts

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
No offense, but you've got to stop believing what everyone tells you, people do lie sometimes... Free trade and old wilderness back would seem like a huge waste of Jagex' time to me. - GE isn't perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than pre-GE. - PK'ing has seen so many updates in the last years, trying to tweak it more and more. It even sort of wrecked our economy, making items skyrocket from inflation. I think that changing all this stuff back again won't attract as many players as left due to the changes a few years ago. + our accounts would be at more risk, especially since they would be able to trade away a whole bank in a few clicks... + RWT would be made easier The price we would pay to change everything back again is high. They should put their focus on brand new updates imo, not on microwaving the leftovers from yesterday.

What do you want from 2011?
A new skill, a couple minigames, some new bosses, lots of new quests.

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
RWT never left RS. It transformed from buying pure gold to buying items with high street for trade price and buying ranks in merch ccs.

What are your goals for 2011?
1) Max out. 2) Expand my collection of rares. 3) Get ranked in bounty hunter targets highscores. 4) Become a champion of champions. (won't get this probably) 5) Enjoy updates. 6) Dungeoneer.
