not to mention they have a worse mining speed then a rune pick.. They have the same speed as a rune pick I don't agree... I mine alot and SC pick isn't worth it. It really is slower than rune pick + you gotta spend 20 minutes per game to get +20pts. Which means you loose 20 minutes of mining to get double xp for about 20 minutes. Makes it break even, so why not mine with r pick than. No id on the d pick question though :( If you go with an sc clan, you can finish a game in maybe 10-15 minutes. Even with this shorter game time, it's still not worth it, however. The only reason I would suggest it is if you LOVE sc and HATE mining, that way it'll seem better to you, which is really all that counts. its noticeably slower and has the melee stats of a bronze pick which makes me think its equivalent to bronze, I could be wrong though. (SC hatchet has stats of rune, and seems about the same speed as rune)

Also flicker piety to save food. With my stats and a bunyio I can solo 12 a trip, so I'd imagine on task with overloads and turmoil+unicorn you can get 35+

I went duo tribrid DKs tonight with flyguy05200 cuz we both had full slayer helm and a task :P was pretty fun, with the slayer helm its entirely possible to duo tribrid if you know what we're doing, we only got spawned on twice by rex and never by supreme or prime. Not much in the way of loot, got a seers ring second to last kill, and about 2m in tallys and yew logs.

its not a bad training spot actually, you can use a salve on the skeletons and get like 75k xp per hour

no you cannot use any xp boosting items or services including gilded alter and ecto
