  1. Does anyone have a link to download dwarf fortress and the graphics pack?
  2. Dusty only stated that you had to pay 1 mil (1.5 mil for me) each budget reset to stay with the rest of the world in technology. So I can just pay at the end, and I'll never fall behind in technology.
  3. Then you'll love this. My answering machine
  4. -Cavernites Nex's furious slashing manages to strike Rocco's leg, leaving a deep cut. However, it frees Rocco from the monster's grasp, allowing Rocco to stumble to the pile of rocks. The monster reels before submerging itself back under the water.
  5. It's a brilliant show! Various random events happening to each of the characters, until they mesh at the very end. What do you hate about it? :|
  6. -Cavernites Rocco fires a fire arrow into the swamp monsters face. A small part of it bursts into flames. Despite efforts by Ares to impede the monster's movement with pressure, its body is too amorphous. It dives into the water and begins to suck Rocco under the water. Meanwhile, Nex jumps in with a guard's sword, but the monster has already moved, causing him to splash into the water. Theros tries to walljump between the cavern corners, but the cavern is so large, any attempt would be futile. +0.1 Archery for Rocco -Reginald The boar continues eating your pants despite your best efforts. Reginald attempts to use his raw magical energy to heal his arms, but without training, he sends the energy into the boar instead, causing the boar to grow to full size, with tusks. Reginald is exhausted by his exertion and collapses to the floor. -Earth Everyone is too distracted by the events at the peasant square. (I'm not sure if you had an action)
  7. I was watching a rerun of Seinfeld yesterday and it made me wonder. What did people feel about the show when the new episodes were being produced? So my question to the people of Tip.it is, were you alive during the time when these shows were being produced and what was your (and your family's) reaction to it?
  8. Could Dusty list the fields of research? I'm saving my monies (roughly 9 million left) until the very end before the reset, so I don't get caught with no money at any time. :P

French Revolution to the Bolshevik Revolution. It's interesting to see the counterplay between imperial and revolutionary powers. We have plenty of that in Hegemony.
  10. Isn't online polker (with betting) illegal in the United States? Or are you from somewhere else, where it is legal.
  11. Retech replied to m0nkeym0j030's topic in Off-Topic
That would probaly work only in a Florida housing complex, where the floor is paved and it's warm year-round. :P
  12. My cello image was too large (in terms of file size), so I had to change my signature and my avatar picture to match.
  13. Retech replied to Iconic's topic in Falador Tavern
Edel, that sorta defeats the tactical element of a small-scale game, to have unit values like that, unless there were other things. If Sicily starts with a port, then I'll be Sicily.
  14. Sorry, I have to go to sleep early today. Hope everyone had fun, and I'll do all the posts tomorrow.
  15. House is on, so I'll be back in an hour. :P (It's currently the afternoon in the game, btw)
  16. -Cavernites As the peasants begin climbing up the rope, Rocco rushes towards the crack. A swamp monster rises from the depths. Its size is roughly two humans tall and just as wide. Other than a pile of refuse for its body, it has two large and thick arms, with no fingers. Rocco and Theros are knocked backwards as it lifts itself out of the water. Ares manages to escape from the cavern and tells the guards, who quickly rush to inform the wizards and rangers. -Earth (They said they would teach you if you were willing to learn about theology as well, and become a follower of Ceres) There are no medics around, aside from the clerics and apothecaries. Earth heads to the peasant square.
  17. -Cavernites A druid emerges from the crack, wielding a quarterstaff covered in swamp plants, and wearing the swampland outfit that Rocco saw before. He raises his hands and holds his staff high, before returning through the crack. The murky water between the crack and the pile begins to bubble. Meanwhile, the sewer grate doesn't budge, so Rocco and Theros return to the pile. The guards throw down a rope. -Edel The boar starts eating Reginald's pants. -Ieyfura Both professions can basically make the majority of items, but druids use herbs in raw form as well, while apothecaries sometimes use distillation and other methods to craft a potion. Druids are usually the ones that do not charge. -
  18. -Pieis and Rocco Rocco throws a torch down into the hole, before Theros comes bounding from behind, knocking both of them into the hole. They land at the bottom, only minorly bruised. The people at the bottom acted as cushions and prevented further injury. The cavern is enormous, at least as large as the village square if not larger. Waist-deep murky water surrounds the pile of cracked cobblestones. A large sewer grate can be found at the northern end of the cavern, while a crack in the wall allows access in the southern end of the cavern, though the cavern is barely tall enough for a child, including the water. The entire area smells of rot and feces. -Ieyfura The consensus seems to be that apothecaries and druids are experts in herbalism, but druids are more focused on personel preperation and ritual while apothecaries use the latest scientific tools. -Edel The wild boar seems to be young, as it hasn't grown any tusks. It seems to be eating some insects. It begins nuzzling up to your leg before sitting on your foot. -Nex The crowd seems to have already parted. -Ross Ares accidentally blows himself into the murky water. He is uninjured, but he has gotten a headstart in getting covered in filth. (See Rocco and Pieis portion for cavern info)
  19. -Theros The guard merely shrugs nonchalantly. "I haven't been trained in the art of patching giant sinkholes in the floor. Your guess is as good as mine." -Ares The hole seems quite deep and nothing comes out. Using wind, Ares manages to save two more peasants from falling into the hole. +0.1 Air magic -Rocco Everyone seems to be fleeing from the square already. After notching an arrow, Rocco looks into the hole. It seems about fifteen feet down, and he is unsure whether it is safe to jump down. -Edel Edel encounters a wild boar several feet ahead, eating near a tree.
  20. -Rocco "Indeed, there are caves in the area. The town of Steinfir is only twenty miles away. If you take the road towards Brinefir then take a right at the intersection before you reach Brinefir, then you should begin to see a hilly area with many caves." Rocco arrives in the peasant's square. -Nex The peasant's square is filled with commotion and Nex is unable to enter it. -Theros Aside from the pile of people and bodies, there appears to be a small pile of cobblestone fragments, surrounded by murky water. -Ieyfura There appears to be a small food stall selling a loaf of bread for only two copper pieces.
  21. -Rocco "Druids only come on occasional errands, usually to meet old friends, but none ever stay for long." -Ross and Pieis Ares manages to reach the edge of the square. Theros finds a guard just outside the square, overseeing the festivities. The center of the square caves in, creating a hole around six feet in diameter. A dozen people have fallen in, while the rest begin to panic. In the process of running away, two more people fall into the hole.
  22. -Ross and Pieis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCq-hEOKorI While Theros begins his digging, Ares enters the festival ground in the peasant's quarter. The music is rather loud, and it only grows louder as more of the peasants begin their dancing. Soon the musicians are playing as loud as they can, and the ground is shaken by the peasant's stomping. After a minute of the dancing, the ground begins sagging, though in their bustle and drunken revelry, the peasants don't notice. -Nex "If you mean earth as in rock and dirt, then we have some of the teachers here. Otherwise, you'd have to go into the forest and find a druid to teach you about nature. Metal magic is simply unheard of. What would the use of changing metals would be if you had a decent smith? There are certainly musicians in the peasant's quarter." -Earth The healers still don't need any apprentices. The clerics are always willing to take on new apprentices, as long as they were trained in theology as well. -Edel The town wall is on one side, a swamp on another, and forest on the rest of the sides. -Rocco (I thought you were talking to other players :P) "What you described seem to be dire rats. They are capable of being the size of a pig, and can probaly kill someone. It wouldn't be likely for them to live in the town though. There have been no sightings."
  23. -Pieis The only thing under the cobblestone is wet and smelly dirt. Theros can't tell if the smell comes from beneath or the peasants above. -Ross "There is nothing that I need for now. Maybe you'd find the festival in the peasant's quarter enjoyable?" -Nex "We teach the arts of shaping and gathering arcane energy from the air. What kind of enchantments are you referring to? The time of golems is long past. Perhaps you'd be able to find someone able to teach you, but they haven't been needed for centuries."
  24. -Rocco "Certainly not. Either we go without running water, or the wizards conjure it!" -Pieis There is a festival in town, and the peasantry have been dancing to some lively music. Theros notices that some of the cobbles from the street have come loose. -Ross Ares launches the paper aeroplane and keeps it sailing for quite a distance into the sky, until the magic can no longer reach so far, and the paper glides back down to the ground. +0.1 Air magic
  25. -Ross "Always a possiblity, Ares. The druids are always up to something." Kemios pulls out some tomes from a large bookstack, before laying them out on the table. After reading through the passages and showing Ares the hand movements, he quickly gets up and opens the door. "That is all the time we have for today. Remember to make a quick motion when creating a loud cracking noise when snapping the air, smooth motions when gathering a gust of wind, and to keep your fingers next to each other when making a sudden compression." (Qualified to start earning experience) -Theros A guard shouts at you before you leave, "Don't you know that you can't find a druid in her home unless you have some damn good magic, or she wants to be found?" The druid is nowhere to be found. -Rocco "The reward will have to wait until we catch this person and can prove what you are saying is true, but thank you. Our city has nothing under it, except cobblestones and dirt. How would the druid get under the city?"
