  1. The European Conflict - Prelude The war that had begun as a struggle for independance by the city-state of Bruges has become a full scale war. Notably, the island nations of England and Iceland have pledged their support for Bruges, while the French and the Bulgarians seek the crush the city-state beneath their war machines. The war, which started merely as a posturing match between the European powers, soon erupted into a war which spanned half of Europe. The European Conflict - Belgium Theater - Assualt on Groeninge Hill (English Encampment) The battle began with the splattering of French pitch on the English camp, launched in barrels from trebuchets. However, the French trebuchets had trouble aiming precisely at the English camp, as it was mostly obscured. The few barrels they managed to launch landed somewhere on the English hill, though the French general could not see precisely where. The Bulgarian forces quickly surrounded the hill and began advancing up the steep slopes, which were covered in mud after a recent torrential rainstorm. 3500 Queen's guardsmen and five thousand men at arms advanced on two opposite sides of the hill, while more Bulgarians assualted the other two sides. The Bulgarian heavy horse archers fared poorly in the muddy goop and could not climb up the hill. Meanwhile the Bulgarian force marching up the eastern side of the hill closest to the river was forced to move with the force moving up the southern side, as the pitch launched from the French trebuchets barred their access. As Bulgarian forces continued to wheel around trying to soften up the English with their ranged weapons, the English longbows inflicted huge casualties on the Bulgarians. Finally the Bulgarian commander ordered his forces to dismount and march up the hill by foot. The mud began caking in their armor, causing some of the joints to gum up with mud. Eventually the Bulgarians made it to the top, where they were assailed by the English knights, who had been waiting eagerly for their moment of battle. Despite the numerical superiority of the Bulgarians, they were pushed back by the English knights and forced to retreat. The English longbowmen moved back to the front of their lines and began taking down the fleeing Bulgarians with arrows in their backs. The Queen's guardsmen proved ineffective against the superior English longbowmen in ranged combat. Casualties English -From Trebuchets 600 English Knights 200 English Longbowmen -From Bulgarians 1700 English Knights 800 English Longbowmen Bulgarians 7800 Men at Arms 4300 Queen's Guardsmen 2500 Short Ranged Myrmidons 1000 Knights 300 Knights of Saint Dimitrius 4400 French Blood Knights set up a cunning ambush, pretending to gather water from the nearby river. Four thousand Icelanding Hlaupari took the bait, charging in with their heavy weapons. The muddy riverbank slowed their horses, and the French blood knights came upon them. However, the Hlaupari managed to escape before they were completely destroyed. The remaining Hlaupari took out their crossbows and began shooting the blood knights, who tried to form a shield wall to resist the bolts. Eventually the Hlaupari ran out of bolts, and both sides withdrew. Casualties: 1600 Blood Knights 2300 Hlaupari The French commander decided to wait for further instructions, as none of the plans could've been called a complete success. (part two is coming within thirty minutes. Please do not send battle plans until part two is finished)
  2. Note that transport within Europe without boats is free, but if it is attacked, then it basically automatically sinks. Not really suitable for war time.
  3. Sorry, it's a biggy. Not sure if I can get it done within the hour, since I have to do a lot of other non-computer things.
  4. If you could bring me a pickaxe, then I could send you back to World's end with some beer?
  5. I think some people are coming to live near me though.
  6. I am on right now.
  7. It has metal bars in it?
  8. Well I doubt I'll be able to build the village claim in less than a week, so it could be worth it to walk. Besides, maybe you might be able to come in a wagon and bring lots of stuff with you. Like a darned pickaxe!
  9. Does anyone want to walk back to Falador with deer antlers?
  10. Cups have been nerfed. I have wheat fields I can use.
  11. I'm working on the darned village idol, but I don't have the skills to kill a deer. Well I might depending on how much damage a Q 20 bow with Q 20 arrows and 25 marksmenship can do on a deer in one shot.
  12. Does anyone have a meat grinder or metals? Other than that, I'm pretty much covered for everything. I tamed another auroch, but it turned out to be another bull.
  13. Icu, are you still playing? If you're in Falador or near that area, you can come up to my place and help me build the town wall.
  14. How many deer antlers do you have? If you have four, I can build the village claim as soon as you travel back here on foot. :P
  15. Note that I have already filled up my palisade, so I can still extend the palisade (I forgot to seal part of it that wasn't near the gate) to make a town area as well. Also, I just need to kill a deer herd, but I don't have any means of killing them. That's why I might need a strong combat person to come back to my claim manually, and help me with that. Or just bring four sets of deer antlers, since I have all the other materials. Oh, except maybe bring a bear cape for me, since I have to save the teeth I just got for the claim.
  16. Well half the land in my palisade is wheat, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm just working on getting a large hops field so I can start making wort and then beer.
  17. I've started working on it, but I have lots of things on my plate today, so it won't be done till the afternoon. Gotta bite off little chunks. :)
  18. I think you'd have more fun back at my place. :P
  19. What do you mean Nex? Also, here's some medieval music for everyone to enjoy while being in the mindset of an enlightened ruler/messenger of god/despot. [hide=Medieval Music] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgkDcBHpr-E [/hide]
  20. There's something wierd with the facial expression of the sketch. Sorta looks like you devolved several hundred thousand years from the picture to the sketch. It's probaly simply the shading with the face, but it looks very good.
  21. Success! I have slain my first bear today. Now to find a deer, and get lots of alts with lots of slings.
  22. Actually last year I was waiting for a battle report, because I wasn't sure if you wanted to do anything about the Mongolian force coming to attack your invading force. I didn't really want to come out and say your army was crushed because your general was incompetant and the head command from Kiev (you) didn't send any plans to him.
  23. Well maybe I was being a bit theatrical about it, but the ship was destroyed pretty darned fast. I can't divulge any more information at the present time. Now I must go. For any questions and important messages, please refer to my answering machine. Answering Machine
  24. They aren't lasers. Basically there was a loud thunderous noise and then seconds later, the ship was crippled and sank. You could say that the invention was closer to Archimedes than Albert Nobel. If there are any survivors from a combat with said weapons, then you will get a much clearer description.
  25. Could you PM me the total number of people and soldiers for further reference?
