Ye Olde Hegemony
French Invasion of Bruges - Storm clouds gather Tensions had been mounting for years as a result of the cruel and oppressive treatment by General Manius of the citizens of Bruges. The region was given to him as a result of his success in the conquest and was used to supply the blood knights of their food, armor, and horses. This furthered their goals of conquest in places like Sardinia and have served the French leader well. However, as the number of blood knights continued to burgeon, the citizenry of Bruges were forced to give more and more of themselves through higher taxes and extortion. Revolution finally erupted after the soft-handed treatment of General Manius at the hands of the French government. French Invasion of Bruges - An uninvited guest The French forces began amassing near the border, preparing to crush Bruges under its heel once and for all. Learning from the Mongolian school of war, two thousand calvary archers were dispatched with two thousand blood knights on horseback to strike Bruges while it was still preparing. The calvery reached the lowlands that made up the region, coming across a river with various fjords. As the calvary began to cross, a Brugian galley sailed up the river and began its attack on them. The calvary quickly rode past, thankfully with only few casualties, before coming onto a second river. Suddenly, two thousand Hlaupari struck with expected speed, smashing open the French calvery. The Hlaupari wheeled away, sensing that the French force was too powerful, before throwing several firebombs into the French position, decimating the blood knights. The French forces quickly retreated back to the main force. French Invasion of Bruges - The Campaign presses on Agitated by the defeat of his calvary, the French general ordered his army forward. They crossed the two rivers without difficulty, before reaching the fertile pastures outside Bruges. The French general chose a defensible position on the side of a hill just within trebuchet range of the city walls. The trebuchets immediately began firing, though due to the extreme range, progress was slow. Troubling reports were also given of the English landing to the north of the city. As the city of Bruges had grown more prosperous over the years, its walls had expanded and grown in size, allowing them to withstand the impact of the occasional boulder. Soon enough, the English forces set up their own camp on another smaller hill positioned roughly in between the French hill and the city, though off to the side. They had set up trebuchets and began firing into the French position, while the French returned fire. Soon enough, the French general realized that though the English army seemed only ten thousand strong, he could not possibly storm the city of Bruges without either taking a long way through the marshy lowlands around the English hill or cross the river that winded towards Bruges. (From left to right goes English hill, French hill/City, River) He quickly called for reinforcements and fortified the hill. Even more dreadful news came with the arrival of forces from the Dutch-speaking parts of the Holy Roman Empire. The provinces were given by permission by the Emporer Rocco to act as they would, as long as they claim to be in no manner doing Emporer Rocco's will. The soldiers took garrison in the city, and took control of the eastern side of the river. Meanwhile, the expected Bulgarian troops arrived in short order, taking positions behind the French garrison and awaiting further instructions. Casualties: French 1300 Calvary Archers 600 Blood Knights Iceland 800 Hlaupari Scottish Invasion of England ...did not materialize, as Hlaupari in their specialty ships attacked the Scottish ports and firebombed their fleet to the bottom of the ocean. Thankfully, negligible casualties from the firebombing. Byzantine Empire Invasion of Corsica Corsica makes no resistance and surrenders to the invading Byzantine forces, immediately after they surrounded the castle. (Part one)

"It would be better to die than to be in a country where half the power rests in the palms of those bloodthirsty knights. We could not possibly bear supporting such people, as our aid makes us culpable for the crimes they commit."

They send back a message. "Bloodshed is not necessary if you withdraw your forces. The only thing causing this war is YOUR aggression. Leave us to our freedoms and we shall have no quarrels." What's the total force, Icu?

Tensions increase as the Bulgarian envoy is executed and his head is placed on a pike overlooking the city walls. England has pledged its support behind Bruges, hopefully to counterbalance the power of the central Europeans. Bruges has appealed to its neighbor, the Holy Roman Empire, in search of assistance. The citizens in the northwestern and northern parts of the HRE mainly support Bruges, while the thin western strip support France. The rest of the Empire has no stance on the issue. ---- Working on China with the rest of the diplomatic stuff.

Mather, I think you did something wrong with your math... Thanks for reminding me Rocco. Will be up unless the thunderstorm knocks out my connection.

Eight hundred if they cannot use horses and a thousand if they can.

Oh, totally unrelated, but a massive insurrection has occured in Bruges, where revolting citizenry have evicted Manius and his blood knights from the city, following years of abuse and extortion by the blood knights to gain funds to continue their military conquests. The city-state offers to be the vassal of a nation which helps them against the French.

There are basically no witnesses aside from the ones on shore. They simply state that the ship was suddenly destroyed and that there was a loud sound, like that of thunder.

I chisel the remaining legs off the table with my shovel, before attaching the straps onto the table so that I could use it as a shield.

Maybe that's what you did, but I was quite different. "Yessssss, enter the tunnel into the volcano. Aha, you fell into a room! Now choose a basalt plug or a granite one. Choose the method of your demise!" or "Oh no, I have sent a seemingly unarmed mage with powerful connections into the woods right when Hex is looking for someone's brains to eat. Mwahahahahahaha."

The fireboat is destroyed in a flurry. Spectators on the coast are unsure of what destroyed it, but rumors begin spreading of the Castheo Thunder Ray.

I try to cut the curtains into straps, before examining the table, especially noting its size, weight, and "build".

Yah. The moderator's view. Maybe what we were thinking as we watched the characters go around the dungeons.

Farmer. Also, would it be possible if I had a pitchfork too? Or even, a pitchfork instead of the shovel if necessary. I search for some sort of straps (trying to find two of them).

Well Jen was one of the local evil characters, who later turned out to not be so evil compared to all the other things that came around. Grim was her counterpart, as they were both high leveled in their opposite magicks, so that would be important. Other than that, we'd need some varying points of view. Icu, because he was the leader of one of the towns and then Paul, the leader of Ikana. Maybe Rocco for comic relief. However, I think Ross' character was very important for the beginning and the middle, but since he was with most of the other characters in their struggles, it might be useless to add another POV, unless someone can think of a twist to that.

I swing my shovel 'round and 'round to see if it would make a good weapon. Then I check around for some windows. If there are windows to the cabin, I look outside to see if there's a nice fertile place to plant mah corn.

I shall also go with my usual name and cliche story. Her name is Jen Sonla. Her quest: to acquire the powers of magic at any cost, even if it means abducting people and butchering them. Outfit: Shapeless brown "monk" habit.
