  1. What's wrong with war for the sake of war? That's the best part, although total war might be a bit too frequent. :P And question: would you be able to survive your own Hegemony?
  2. Must be a pretty tough ship to survive two ships crawling with wizards. Might be worthwhile to keep it. :P
  3. I should stop reading Nex's suggestions. They're always the opposite of what I enjoy reading. :P
  4. Ipad works with Itunes.
  5. Steve Job hat gesterben! Oh nein, oh nein! Es kann nicht sein!
  6. The whole point is that it's generic...so it's similar to everything. Or, you could say that it is similar to everything, hence too dissimilar to any one thing, and not similar to anything.
  7. Dnd has "arbitrary" limitations for game balance. Chances are, if you wanted a character that surpassed those limitations, it can probably be built. It's just a different kind of system. I'm actually surprised it's not your thing, since you like to rules-lawyer physics with Archi, but one of Grim's systems would probably be a better match. Or actually, Danse Macabre is relatively rules light.
  8. It's not really much of an issue. The Tavern is a place to have fun. There doesn't HAVE to be a game if people don't want to play it. From what I hear, Wyvren is running a darn good game and his players are enjoying it, so by extention, the Tavern is fufilling its purpose. It's not really about arbitrary limits.
  9. Point still stands that no game has been played for a week. Hmm, I distinctly recall Pathfinder being played last week and will probably be played this week. Of course that doesn't count since you're not playing that?
  10. Pathfinder = A game
  11. Well there are hundreds of millions that die in living-related accidents each year too, so what's your point?

Have you actually carried a heavy sword around or even tried to wield it? They're well...heavy!

Katana + Damascus Steel = Win?
  14. My campaign starts either tomorrow or on Wednesdays, so there is currently nothing going on yet. Also, PbP are generally slow, so the plot doesn't advance that rapidly (although I am experimenting with some different ways to make it go faster than the regular PbP)
  15. The orchestra was kinda subpar, but it was a good song.
  16. Good luckz. Couldn't you just use derivative shortcuts instead of going back to the definition?
  17. Yeah, perfect score in algebra! YEAH! THAT'S RIGHT! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! (stereotypical American football pep talk) See, I can be hip and cool too
  18. It is counterintuitive, but the more that you try to advertise Drow Tales, the less likely someone will listen to you, because it becomes clear that you are so biased in its favor that it's not worth it trying to get an accurate picture out of you.
  19. I think he's giving plenty of legitimate reasons why he doesn't like the comic, even aside from the sidecomics. And by definition, it is impossible to argue with him on what he likes, or rather, it is futile. Like trying to max your jump check at level 5 so you can try to hit the wizard flying over you and pelting you with spells. By definition, futile.
  20. Personally I don't like it because it's not particularly comical or intellectually stimulating. It has a bit of both, but usually that's not enough to draw me in. And it just goes off on this tangent from the original Drow to this thing that I'm not sure about. It's like as the story progresses, it's x approaches infinity of y = 1, compared to the original Drows, which are f(x)=sqrt(1-x^2)
  21. I'm pretty sure that everyone who has thought of GMing has already done so. Archi ran Danse Macabre, Ross did that zombie apocalypse thing, you did Kingmaker, Wyvren is doing his campaign right now, and I'm running a PbP on the Paizo forums. Although actually, Nex hasn't tried one yet. I would be interested nevertheless, but the issue is getting materials for a system that we will only be using once (barring the chance that we like it and start up a game of it). Are most available online?
  22. I'm happy that the forum was restructured, so I can see if there are any new posts in threads without scrolling down.
  23. :P Well if it was notation, I would say that having used both notations, they take more or less the same amount of time to write. Personally, the only considerations I have are whether it's a derivative based on time or not. I have made a dichotomous key for your convienience: 1) Derivative of Time (Use Newton's) Not Derivative of Time (Go to step 2) 2) Taking derivative of polynomial or function without division bar (Use Lagrange to save lines) Taking derivative of function with large division bar (Use Leibniz to make things look cooler and more complicated) If it was the actual math, I would just wander off because it is definitely not worth the time to win that argument.
  24. By system, you are referring to the notation? Or are you referring to going back to the very origins of modern calculus and doing it from there?
  25. Newton's notation is used primarily in engineering, while Langrange's and Leibniz's are used in mathematics. Each system is useful for different things and is convienient for different situations, so that is not the case at all. The fundamental math itself is mostly the same.
