In-game, generally I'll respect the higher-levels, just because it is obvious they have been playing longer, therefore have gained more wisdom. But if a lvl 11 comes up to me in F2P and gives me advice on how to improve my Barrows run, I'll gladly accept their advice; they probably know what they're talking about. On Forums, I generally respect the ones who use good grammar(or well grammar, whatever). But even then, there is bias. How do I know English is their first language? Maybe they don't even know English and just use a translator? You can't really judge people online as well as you think you can.

Skillcapes - Advantageous or Disadvantageous?
K4ylan replied to quelmotz's topic in General Discussion
Disadvantageous I'll use myself as an example. I just want a skillcape for the sake of having. And of course I chose to get cooking, mostly because it is easy, cheap, and I can do it in F2P. Having a skillcape makes you feel elite, but it cheapens the value for others. I probably won't even wear mine; it'll just sit in the back of my bank until I can get a fletching or fire cape to trim it for a +4 pray boost. And the grand exchange is responsible for the raw/cooked food issue. It makes it so easy to get raw products; it makes sense finished products cost less. Another thing is that players who previously liked to have balanced skills, now have them totally lopsided. using me as an example, I used to have generally balanced skills across the board, but now my 92 Cooking towers over my lvl 60 average skills. -
A good thing to do when browsing forums/watching movie or whatever is to keep your sound on so you know when to reclick the tree. The constant chopping noise may drive you insane...but that's the price to pay for 99 woodcutting

Ok, well the whole point of the mint cake, is that its price is static. Its street value is 10M in this case. We don't really care about Jagex's price, because we found a way to get around that with junk trading. It acts as an insurance, because no matter what happens to other items, this will always be the same. 1 gold coin=1 gold coin; 1 mint cake=10M. ALWAYS. This is good for people who max out their money and need something valuable that will always hold it's value. I'm not really sure about anything I just wrote, so correct me if I'm wrong. I've never taken an econ class. Oh yea, and a mint cake is a reward from the gnome restaurant minigame. There should be a guide on Tip.it

Well, this just happened today, and I'm quite mad about it. My stats are fairly balanced; 80 atk, 80 str, 78 def. Some guy 12 combat levels lower comes up to me and attacks. I'm thinking 'easy kill' here. Wrong. he tears straight through my Prayer; hitting constant streams of 20's with his rune scimmy. After looking up his stats, i found that he had 85 atk, 90 str, and his def wasn't ranked (though, I'm guessing 40). Unbalanced much? Considering my defence we should be hitting about equal; if not me higher.

OK, I understand your point but I'm talking about the people tell their levels right afterwards to make the other person feel bad. If they don't care, they shouldn't be sharing their levels then.

Good clue reward? Post it here!
K4ylan replied to DarkDude's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Excuse me while I go stab sharksman3 for being so lucky... jk, awesome clue btw. -
Well, it starts with the letter b, that's all we know for sure. Bootlegging? Making fake whips then selling it to noobs only to see it crumble in their hands?
-
Lawl, great analogy. That just about sums it all up there.

It isn't like it's a huge deal to do these events; most are about Cook's Assistant difficulty. And the reward of being able to say, "I was there X years ago" is well worth it to me.

The funniest/drunkest noob ever Noob: Can you show me where Lumbridge is? Me: You're in Lumbridge.... Noob: Thanx, but can you show me where it is please? ...At least he was polite

I think most people who are going to leave Runescape, are only going to do it because they think MechScape is going to be more popular, and if they get a head start on it, they'll be legends like Zezima, N0valyfe, etc. I spent a good portion of time searching for new MMORPG's so I could be one of the first few players who would play from the beginning. Of course I came back to RS because I already knew the game; and even though I'll never be as good as the next guy, I still enjoy the game. People will probably be smart enough to figure this out eventually. EDIT: Can someone tell me what Stellar Dawn is?
-
Actually it just limits merchanting rare items. With the grand exchange, I find it incredibly easy to get 200-300K/day with barely 3M startup money. And this is playing for a few seconds a day.

Ur right ;D Let it stay as it is! At 200M exp, if you follow the curve on the experience graph, you'd hit lvl 126 HP, which would still help from being slash-n-bashed by dragon claws. It would also make the total level somewhere around 145? But if tis only pertains to HP, I can see a glitch involving players getting other skills above 99.
-
Yes, remember it increases the chance of getting rare drops. RARE. That means they are already hard to get, this just makes it easier. You still need patience, whether or not you use a ring of wealth.

Should dieing in Runescape be more dramatic?
K4ylan replied to ScreaminDemon's topic in General Discussion
Really guys, hasn't RS been childish enough, what with the warning signs and such? You wan't people to be devastated when they die, not watch gleefully as their body flies off-screen. -
Well, that may be so, but it's an ethics situation. Taking advantage of the system for personal or group gain? In the US, and other countries, this is illegal. And before you bring up the point of killing other people being illegal, PKing is more like Laser Tag than murder really. I mean you respawn at least.

Runescape's also affected my knowledge and school life to. I used to type by searching and pecking, but now I can do a reasonable 50-60 WPM. That really come in handy when you need to complete an assignment quickly after procrastinating, lol. No, Runescape did not make me a procrastinator, I am, was, and always will be one. And when we studied Medieval times in History, who do you think explained and drew what battleaxes, chainmail, etc looked like and what they were used for? Of course everyone else thought I was just smart, but my RS friends could not stop laughing.

I haven't lost a game of FoG yet with tanking. Although I haven't actually tried running, from my experience with other people, it aways fails. Even against higher-leveled players, I tank, yet I always win because they try to run around too much.

The problem with Pest Control, and any other team games out there, is that you can't play the way you want. You have to play as a team, and that involves, more or less, playing to suit the needs of your teammates and yourself.

Straight to the hot place in a shopping cart. Unfortunately hordes of immature players is an unavoidable consequence of playing the world's most popular, free MMORPG. Sadly, it's not even just the free game anymore. Loads of members, even high-leveled ones, are just as immature.

If they were there with a cannon before you, then they deserve the spot.(they've a cannon for crying out loud). But if they took your spot and set it up, then there is a problem. And WTF 2 cannons?!? That's just puking your cash away.

Lol, I think that's what he trying to change; we all know it sucks now.

The only way Jagex can actually Ban the Main Accounts would be to create new accounts, join the clan, and ask who the leader's main is. But this too has it's drawbacks, you never know if this information is true. Oh, and I only quoted Sutty to say that he needs to give credit to his avatar(I saw that on Deviant) and that his Hunter is awesome

When you level up, what do you do? You do a little dance, get a big grin on your face, and happily type in a little message: Red:wave:W00t, Smithing level 89!!!11!1 3 years ago, I would type this in for getting small stats up to level 9. And everyone around me would congratulate me. Why? Because they knew that they just made some kid feel special. All those people saying "Gratz" and "way to go" made you feel on top of the world. Like I said, this was three years ago. But nowadays, after typing in Red:wave:W00t, Smithing level 89!!!11!1 .....this fills the chatbox: My Smithing level is 94. My Smithing level is 92. My Smithing level is 99. My Smithing level is...... On and on and on again. Soon, you're falling off your high horse. That special feeling instead turns into guilt for not being as good, or guilt for speaking at all. Why all the sudden...what's the word...rudeness? Many people blame it on the Mini clip era, but that's not it. I started in the Mini clip era..OK, I'll admit it, I am the mini clip era. And even with all those obnoxious kids, they still congratulated me (usually muttering about how they need to train). So what exactly is causing this rise of rudeness? Well, Jagex's constant updates are always pushing the bar higher. Just when you think, "yes i can wield every weapon!" GodSwords arrive. Rush to train Attack... These people need to consistently remind themselves that they are above the rest. And by making themselves more comfortable in the fact that they are the best, they inevitably push others down to the point where leveling isn't satisfying anymore. I mean what's the point? You're not so great, that guy over there just said he has 97 Smithing, remember? Why bother training yours? You'll never be as good. As much as it sounds like I am, I'm NOT blaming Jagex for this. It is entirely the player's fault; they don't need to complete every update, right as it comes out, do they? And if they do, it should be for a personal gain, not to rub it in that lvl 45's face. So remember to stop yourself next time you're about to rain on that guy's parade. Level 9 Smithing meant a lot to him.
