  1. At my high school you would get in serious trouble if you conduct a senior prank without first getting permission from the Dean of Men. Our senior prank was basically a day-long water gun fight on the last day of school in which all the seniors sprayed underclassmen, teachers and each other the last day of school transitioning from class to class in addition to during class. Not really a prank, but I guess it was good considering the senior "prank" of the year before us was they set up a slip and slide on the exit ramp of our school.
  2. Try turning off view bobbing. It can help with that. View bobbing is disorienting for me, but it doesn't make me ill. Thanks. It's really strange because I've never gotten sensitivity to any other video game before, but if I play minecraft for more then like 10minutes I get dizzy and a headache.
  3. It's a really awesome game, but does anyone get nauseous after playing it?
  4. My simple response to both parties: I hate people.
  5. When all three/four lanes on a highway are moving the same speed. Better yet, the guy in the left lane who's going so slow, people are passing him on the right.
  6. The great question for all players, how to train quickly and make a profit slash not sustain losses. Well for smithing and crafting, in my perspective, it's impossible. One can either train quickly and lose money, or take a while and gain profit.
  7. Some kind of fallacious idea that it is their land by inheritance derived from their descent and race, even though most European Jews don't even have proof they're descendents of anyone from Israel.
  8. I've seen the like attempted before. The Catholic is the first to give up, while the Protestants tell each other that they're wrong by mostly quoting. These prophecies are so entertaining by the way. If there is a hell, these "prophets" will surely be the ones roasting for exploiting the idiocy of the ignorant.
  9. I guess you don't have a sense of humor or history [double implication on the last attribute] because I quoted someone who said I'm all for Jews having a home in PALATINE (instead of Palestine), i.e. the center hill of Rome.
  10. You want to give them Rome now, too?
  11. Nifflin, God bless your works and your house, you speak the truth that the Zionists try to evade. I thank you particularly as I am an "evil" Arab who obviously supports the antisemitic idea of human rights for Palestinians.
  12. So apparently just quoting sources that seem to validate your claim make you correct? Apparently you've never visited Gaza yet you'd rather listen to organizations, which often have an agenda. Well here you go: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7191359.stm http://mondoweiss.net/2011/04/mathilde-redmatn-and-the-humanitarian-crisis-in-gaza.html http://english.aljazeera.net/focus/2010/05/20105319333613851.html And yes, evicting people from their homes isn't a humanitarian crisis http://www.monstersandcritics.com/news/middleeast/news/article_1639309.php/EU-official-calls-on-Israel-to-end-policy-of-evicting-Palestinians My point is made clear, there are plenty of sources within even the week that contradict the Red Cross's seemingly whimsical claim. I assure you again, if you actually went to Gaza, you wouldn't want to stay. If you were a Palestinian, I assure you that you wouldn't have free movement between the border. And 2000 years ago there was no "Israel," it was part of the Roman Empire. And there was the land of the Philistines, which they controlled 5 major cities, but even back then the Jews were trying to wipe them off the map. If you don't consider that being "a country on its own" then again, Lebanon and Jordan should not exist as well.
  13. Each sides both have some extremes and negative intentions. The difference is that Israel has the firepower, "might makes right." Again, Gaza is a concentration camp, anyone who would like to disagree go visit Israel first and then feel free to disagree if your conscience will allow you. The Holocaust was a horrible, horrible occurrence, but it should not be a warrant to reciprocate Jewish suffering to Palestinians. And to the person saying Palestine never existed, see Bible, see "the land of the Philistines." Philistine, hmm, guess how you say Palestine/Palestinian in Arabic. Palestine was never a modern nation state, because it didn't exist in modern times, but the same can be said about Israel. Palestine is referenced many, many times throughout history. For instance, the Roman province was called Syria Palaestina, while multiple works refer to the region as Palestine. If you'd like to go on the premise of historical consistency, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Southern Turkey and Western Iraq should not exist, and instead should all be called Syria [note: reductio ad absurdum, I'm not actually advocating that].
  14. Amen. There's too much to say against Israel, just google "Israeli war crimes" or "Israeli humanitarian violations" and one will get the message. I feel that often the Palestinian side is demonized and Israeli atrocities are kept out of the American press for obvious reasons. I know from a societal standpoint, it's simply inexcusable to speak bad about Israel otherwise you are a terrorist, as I have been told many times, although dropping white phosphate on civilians as a "smokescreen" is completely not terrorizing at all. I also feel a lot of American support of Israel is rooted in simply American ignorance, such as was aptly put in the Political Discussion group at my school, the "war in the middle east" is occurring because Al Qaeda attacked Israel because they don't like Israel because the Palestinians tried to steal Israel's land, or something. Edit: Oh, and if there is anyone who would like to say Israel has no fault, then they have obviously never seen Gaza. If anyone would like to see a concentration camp, Gaza is your destination.
  15. Fear is understandable, but hiding a fact about one's self is being ashamed of one's own being. I'd think one's own rejection of themselves is a scarier occurrence then others rejecting them, so a fact about one's self should not be hidden because they're afraid of what another might think. That goes for anything in life, including sexual orientation. So one doesn't necessarily have to say their orientation, but they should be ready to defend it lest it incur verbal criticism.
  16. I don't understand how fundamentalists literally interpret the Bible and then don't think it's blasphemous that they try to calculate the end of the world even though in like three Gospels and Thessalonians it says no one but God can know. Inconsistency ftw.
  17. And not just any game but a Role-Playing game, guess what happens when people role-play? Also no offense, but you really sound like a bible thumper. Just because someone notices a sexual undertone amongst certain players doesn't make them a bible thumper. Everything usually devalues to sexual innuendo anyway because people are simple minded. I mean I'm all for the occasional horny joke, but there's a certain point where it becomes trashy, like the cliche "that's what she said" and displaying relationships on a video game. I have a girlfriend and I love her but I don't understand to what effect making my name ILUVSAM would do.
  18. The first thing I did when I got members was start training thieving because for some reason I thought it would be really cool if I had 99 Thieving, so I got like lv20 the first day. The first month of members I got I think lv70 Thieving. I never went for my goal of 99 Thieving, even though Pyramid Plunder was released subsequently which made training a lot easier, as well as the release of Achievement Capes provided an extra incentive.
  19. "Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding...It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility" (Khalil Gibran) So essentially I just let it come and go. Feeling "down" is probably as important to fulfillment as being happy. Plus its the perfect mood for introspection and examination, so I love to read poetry or something philosophical when I'm in said mood.
  20. The concept of a perfect god is a Greek one. See weak theology, etc. Assumptions, assumptions.
  21. And you don't think that it is equally likely that the rest of the stories in the Bible are of the same nature? Mythology created to serve a human purpose? Did I ever say it wasn't? Or at least the majority of it is. The Old Testament is essentially an overt development of Judeo-thought. Anyone who thinks it fully literal is obviously not a Semite, because figurative and symbolic stories are integral parts of Semitic cultures. So your saying that if you think it is literal you can't be a Semite? I read that and I got annoyed because I was like no I didn't say that, but it appears I actually did once I went back and read what I wrote haha. What I meant to say was anyone who interprets it literally is not well-versed in its proper and original context, i.e. Semitic culture. Now one may argue Hellenistic influences, yes, but that's more so an argument that is had to determine how much is not Semitic, not if there is a Semitic basis.
  22. So I just got 91 Thieving. I was just wondering if anyone knew the xp/hr rate now that I can access all the rooms and what is the best method of getting the most xp? I normally just open all the chests, run to the second to last room where I check all the urns and then open all the urns for the last room. I thank everyone in advance for their advice.

  24. [hide=incest comment] To be honest, I don't really know how to make sense of a lot of all this stuff you wrote. It is interesting nonetheless. To me, it just looks like a lot of people who wrote about religous stories that they heard, like if someone from today would write a book about the Bible. It doesn't really look like historical documentation of the life of Jesus. I think what it mostly proves is that Jesus was an actual historical figure, it's not like Jews converted to this new Christianity thing for no reason at all. It leaves open the question of the actual deeds of the man. The point I was making with the last part, about the eruption, is that not having multiple elaborate sources for a historical event doesn't necessarily mean the historical event didn't happen, as you would suggest. You're also discounting the fact that, like Tacitus' work, some works regarding Jesus as a historical figure may have been lost during the Middle Ages. Also considering that the fountains/floodgates of heaven are closed where could the water go it can't fall off the earth. Dude, seriously? I doubt anyone religious believes the bible stories to be completely 100% true, and if they do, they're nutjobs that give actual religious people a bad name. Kid in my class believes this particle story and the adam and eve story to be true, besides that he realizes most is false. So i think this is a legitiment question Well, to answer one of the questions, yes it would be incest. It's a common thing in creation myths, they have to somehow make few people into a lot of people. I doubt you'll find someone here that actually believes those stories as 100% factual though. [/hide]Interesting scriptural studies observation, which I remember because of the incest comment, if you read Genesis, obviously there's Adam and Eve who have their two sons Cain and Abel. After Cain kills Abels, God punishes him by having him wander the Earth, but so that no one who finds him kills him, he's marked. Now if there were only two other people in the entire rest of the world according to a literal interpretation, why would Cain even have fear of running into them? That's presuming that his parents were still alive and that they would be capable of killing him. Elements like this prove it is a myth not to be taken literally. Genesis is primarily just in address to the theological Problem of Evil, not an accurate discourse of anthropology.
  25. ^No, his killing of Khamis doesn't really demonstrate courage. Oppressive force can be ethically responded to by appropriate force, but the intent of a moral retaliation should not be to kill, death should only be a matter of collateral.
