  1. Dragon is only a modest improvement over rune. Some dragon armor pieces are quite cheap these days, though. Especially the skirt, legs, med, and square. They're a nice cheap nondegradeable alternative to barrows even at high levels. Med is probably not worth buying once you can get a berserker/neitiznot helm. Square is useful for some sorts of tanking but for melee training you'll want a rune defender. Legs are more expensive than skirt by some amount, and both are decent choices if you can't/don't want to use barrows. Dragon weapons, on the other hand, are absolutely essential. They should be your first goal. Skip the longsword for the time being and go for the scimitar. It's hard, but well worth it. Then go back and get a dagger for special attacks.
  2. 42.7k big bones 8.9k dragon bones or some combination I currently have about 5k of each type banked.
  3. I can currently buy enough big bones for 95 prayer, or enough dragon bones to get like halfway there. Which variety should I use? If the dragon bones, what should I do to earn the rest of the gp needed? Thanks!
  4. There's an entrance in a hole in the wall in the lobby off to the side a bit. Set up a party and it says enter the dungeon or something.
  5. Sounds like you're just suffering from a small sample size, especially for the tower. They're the exact same monsters, and what I've read from other people's logs sounds like they have the same rate.
  6. The banner is like an iron spear or something. More effective is casting spells while holding it.
  7. Super atks and defs are efficient at practically any income. You may skip the defs for saving space though. Super strs are a bit more costly, but surely your income justifies them.
  8. You can sell them back with the same junk that you got buying them. Unfortunately, anything extremely overvalued tends to be unstable. And I don't just mean mintcakes.
  9. To be honest, I doubt I could find someone to do that with me. If they have such stats I'd only weigh them down.
  10. Sorry, rephrase. Battle robes are worth it, ignoring the cost of purchase. The current street price is ridiculous, however. I wouldn't bet on being able to sell it back after either, if that's what you're suggesting. I would only consider them worth it for someone who enjoys playing fog and getting their own set as a side benefit. (You can get really quick wins with ancients + spec rushing.)
  11. Alching at 99 mage is really really counterproductive for me. Rune use is part of why I particularly dislike solo maging besides the spawn rate issues. Anything over a 1000 world tends to see crashers that I'd rather not deal with. I need constant gp, and tds tend to rely too much on really rare drops.
  12. First, are you sure you're prepared to sink mils into supplies? If so, this is almost as good as the expensive setups. Really, equip doesn't matter too much. Maging setup: Full mystic Best rfd gloves Stole / Glory Rol Prayer Book Sol / ancient staff / water staff Luring setup: Same as above Full proselyte/initiate The only loss is if you get a melee dag on you, because you can't tank like ahrim's can. PS: Battle robes aren't worth it unless you happen to enjoy fog. They take more time than you can reasonably expect to save in runes. Meanwhile merchants on the street hoard the sets that are in circulation, and it's not worth paying anywhere near street for the benefits.

It's not just the gp cost, though. Do you save enough time with your own altar compared to the time you spend training construction?

Sgs, bandos, fury, zerker, claws, dfs, etc are all high end luxury items that don't make too big a difference. They're good, but you probably have better things to be buying first, namely skills. Sgs spec hits for boosted damage and according to your hit restores hp and prayer. For slayer, the amount tends to be enough to offset a significant part of damage you take and sustain the 5% or 10% strength prayers with modest prayer gear. Enhanced excalibur is a far cheaper replacement for sgs, and in slayer terms, almost as good. If you want to spend money to improve your slayer, buy a bunyip and maybe some range. Those are the cheapest options that give good returns.
  15. Thanks for the responses, guys. I dislike solo mage. The exp isn't really useful any more and the runes are expensive if I use claws/surge. Moreover, either I'm stuck with slow spawns or fighting crashers for a fast world. Doing two rather than one would offset timing issues. Then, I could use a slow world and get away with cheap spells like dart, while still getting a good kill rate. Yak would be nice, sure. But getting that and turmoil are why I'm DKing in the first place. Unless you mean there's something better I could be doing, which I'd be happy to hear about.
  16. I don't have the stats to go full out solo tribrid by a long shot. I was wondering, for the best consistently high gp rates, which dk method I should use. 1. Solo hybrid. Prime is slow. He's also annoying if he spawns too early on occasion. 2. Rex/Supreme. I eat through food annoyingly fast. 3. Rex/Prime. Prime is slow. But at least now I get Rex rings and don't have to worry about spawns. I've tried these each before. They all seem ok but I dunno what's a better choice. I'm probably banking bones and hides, or at least all bones. So, using a tortoise inventory rather than a titan switch. Eating fish and potting. Unless it's better to stay longer with brews. I'd be okay with that too, but I doubt I could sustain brews and pots together given how often I need to heal. I have ee and soul split. No other shinies, sadly. Thanks for the advice.
  17. Ugh. Really? Like two years ago they were ridiculously inaccurate and had a max hit of 2 hp or something.
  18. Alternatively, range the armadyl ones, because they hit very little. Wear arma and zammy items, normal range gear, pots and maybe a bit of food.
  19. Not entirely sure, but I'm pretty sure Argus left his for more than a year and it was fine. Then he tried to clean all the herbs. XD
  20. Does anyone know the drop rate for dragon full helms? Thanks.
  21. Are you sure you want to risk sol? It doesn't keep. Same with ring. I'd say use rol. Mage's book is better replaced with a shield, preferably BSS or even granite. Take a melee weapon unless you like whacking stuff with sol. (It's better than a dlong, so not that bad.) Housetab. Cystal. Something to get you out fast. Don't take more than 500 casts on that kind of inventory.
  22. I mean, this is a bunch of people known to hurt others for personal gain. Should anyone really trust them? I'm not saying it can't work out. What I am saying is that it would be insane to risk it.
  23. Does anyone know how long it would take (in terms of hours) from 1 dungeoneering to a chaotic weapon? Supposing a good team but not perfectly optimal. Is this a worthwhile goal for an aspiring boss hunter? Or is it better to try and get turmoil and unicorn and such first? Thanks.
  24. Fastest is Dharoking the DT skeletons or other high HP undead. Doubt you want to do that though.
  25. Castle wars ogres drop big bones and nice seeds. There's a convenient wall and these days it's usually empty.
