  1. Is there a way to quickly farm for effigies? I understand these things are hardly common, but if I could get even a few a day, it would be well worthwhile.
  2. You can solo fine. Use charge and claws so you can't get crashed easily. You should average a bit under 1m/hr and stay for 40-50 minutes, at a rough estimate. Duo mage works, but unless you want to fight for a high population world, you'll be severely limited by spawn times. Big thing: I suspect you two might actually be able to duo tribrid on a slow enough world. Oh, and zerkers have gone down, so uh... cut my 1m/hr figure down a bit.
  3. My top rant is against the meleers who don't bring hides, sacrifice themselves to the nearest soul split mage for healing, and then wonder why we lost.
  4. 1. Having someone maging is the only practical way to do DKs. You can safespot prime away from rex, and if you're fighting supreme from the west rex usually can't see you, but going in between will almost certainly get his attention. There are all sorts of crazy sneaking by tricks, since while each king has a large wander range their vision at any particular point in time isn't so great. Realistically though, you really do want someone maging, because tanking rex is no fun at all. If you insist on attempting to hyb without a mage, you'll need to go up the ladder a lot when rex gets on you. Sneak around the north rim of the island to go between supreme and prime. It's almost certainly a bad idea. 2. Even if they could, you'd still screw up lures and safespots from one trying to retrieve the other's drops. Even telegrab is not far enough for the mage to take the hybrid's loot on supreme. Besides which, mages incur higher expenses for higher returns, and generally dislike hybs taking part of that. 3. Use whip. Use SW cape. Accumulator if you're lazy while using a crossbow. For spec, ee and sgs both work nicely. Guthan's is useful on supreme for heals. 4. Depends on a lot of factors for both. Solo hyb was maybe 1m/hr without yak last I tried. Duo gets you faster kills but then spawn times play a big role.
  5. 1. Yea definitely it's better in the long run. Range accounts for about half the damage you do to a TD. The faster you can deal that damage the faster your kills will be. 2. Enhanced excalibur for healing. Dragon claws or halberd for damage. 3. Tormented demons can use protection prayers, and after you do about 300 LP worth of damage they'll pray to whatever you're using, and you'll need to switch out. 4. Use the northeast rock. Trap the western spawn on the smaller rock. Then alternate the middle and eastern spawns on the respective sides of the bigger rock. Look it up on youtube because it's quite confusing in words, really. 5. That really, really depends. After you figure out switching, you can rely almost entirely on a unicorn for healing. Then just take super sets and prayer potions, and maybe some summoning potions for extra healing by restoring the spec bar (I heard about this, but not being 88 sum quite yet I can't vouch for it), etc etc etc. And all the required stuff like two attack forms, darklight, etc etc. Overall, go read a guide. If you're new to TDs there some important things you might not know to ask and people might not realize to tell. Here's a guide with lots of goodies. http://forum.tip.it/topic/211163-tormented-demons-solo-and-duo-guide/page__p__3209085__hl__tormented%20demon%20guide__fromsearch__1entry3209085 Only thing is, it recommends a safespot that I've personally found very finicky. Single killable spawn and disaster if you go a square or two too far. That is the easier safespot though. As is the pillar right when you enter. Those two are rather obvious to figure out on your own. Whereas, the various two-spawn methods with the big and small rock are weird, and I doubt I'd know them if I hadn't seen them demonstrated. I'd be interested in duoing after I get 88 sum if you want to add me.
  6. For solo, a proper shield is far more valuable than either a defender or a two handed weapon. A ranged top is also quite helpful for the magic minion. I'd recommend you do the first setup. Ring of life. Karil > dhide top. Spectral > dfs > granite shield. Carry a defender in inventory if crashers bother you. But it makes you eat through your food awful fast.
  7. Nice relaxed 1m/h. The pro players will argue you're wasting a lot of your potential, though. Also, zerkers are going down before long. They got a bump from summer but it won't last, least of all past the end of vacations.
  8. whenever i hit tht button nothing happens It puts a screen capture onto the clipboard. Which you then need to paste into an image editing program like paint and save.
  9. I mean, do you need them soon? I''ve been playing like a few games of FoG a day for fun for a while now. I'm already 2/3 of the way there. I feel like FoG has enough entertainment value that battle robes are worth the effort in the long run. On the offensive, try to rush your opponents. Freeze them and spec them (claws > ags > dds or something) and try to go for quick kills, but switch out if they pray. Take full void and as much damage/accuracy boost as you can get, along with all three combat forms. On the defensive, try to get some free charge right outside the visible minimap from the center. Stand just past the houses and maybe even house hop a bit. When you have your opponent on you, tank as best as you can with ee and unicorn and prayer switching. I have far worse stats and I can still manage a 90-something percent win rate.
  10. How do you recharge iban with any decent speed?
  11. Zephy replied to Zephy's topic in Rants
Nope. Apparently they were pretty confident the mod was on their side. If anything they started trashing the third guy even worse.
  12. Zephy replied to Zephy's topic in Rants
There was more context than I was able to explain. The original argument had two sides, and it was pretty clear that one side was striking out against the other. I don't know for sure he's telling the truth, but I do know what I saw: namely that one player was specifically muted by the pmod while the other two were making equally unacceptable remarks in his presence. Or rather, that he suddenly stopped talking -- mid statement -- while the other side continued to insult him. If he was such a hothead, I doubt he suddenly gave up of his own free will. I'm not suggesting pmods have any particular obligation to go hunt trouble. But, if they're going to the trouble of intervening in a situation, they had better take a good look and treat all involved with some fairness.

I was in an unmoderated cc a while back. Some three people were throwing just about the worst insults at each other. Profanity, obscenity, racism, you name it. I reported all three, and in my opinion, all three deserve to be muted, or at least have their mouths scrubbed out with soap. This goes on for way longer than it should. Then, in comes a player mod, and mutes exactly ONE of them. The other two start making more derisive remarks. Then one says something to the tune of, he's my real life brother, so good fight. Now, these three kids are all quite immature. But the fourth, he was a player mod, so presumably jagex trusts him with some authority and responsibility. He should have known better than to come in on his brother's whim and hand out a ban at his request. Especially given the situation, where his brother was just as guilty as the other party. I think this whole having friends as pmods thing is getting out of hand. If you're chosen to be responsible, then at least live up to your expectations.

It's a lot more noticeable on allotments and such.
  15. I've tried common resources and it's fallen apart on me a lot. Either they're temporarily rising and I can't buy but a few, or they're temporarily falling and I can't sell at a profit. I've never seen a true flatline. Maybe I'm picking the wrong items. Just to clarify, you mean within the frame of a single GE update, not holding on to it for many days, right? What percentage can you usually do above and below med and still hit the volume limit?
  16. Hi, can someone give me details on relatively low risk merchanting strategies? I've heard the usual buy below mid and sell above, but I don't really know how to find items that are doable on both fronts consistently. Thanks.
  17. Zephy replied to Burzuk's topic in Help and Advice
Well, an update. Just got about 30 rex kills per hour with fire surge. (1200 population world.) Add in banking and 25+ seems okay now. (You can use charged claws with void mace for same effect. I like surge for base exp rate is all.) So yea... aside from the boredom/loneliness... solo rex should fit your needs quite nicely. Moreover, it's consistent. (Compared to GWD or TDs, anyway. Training rc/hunter to the 90s would of course be better consistency.)
  18. Some barrows pures beat me rather badly in clan wars by doing some sort of weird trick. They froze me with barrage and ran underneath me. They were able to step out and take shots at me, then walk under me again before I could hit them back. How do you do this? What's the sequence of clicks that makes it work? How do you counter this? Thanks.

Yea, sorry for the hijack. But I'm going back to DKing if they're really that good right now. If I had to use my own estimates, and I admit I can be pessimistic, I'd put solo rex at closer to 600k-700k an hour. Given, slow spawns, slow kills, and the old prices before summer made everything spike. You can solo them by having a friend let you in and take prime and supreme off you. You could go to burstinglobs cc for a door partner and maybe even a solo hybrid to assist you. If they just get you past the double doors, you'll need to kill one supreme (painful) and one prime (not really painful) before you can focus on just rex. There are more complicated solo methods that aren't so great for your stats. TDs are definitely more than 500k an hour averaged. They'd be decent at your stats but not too great. You could aim at best for one kill per two fire shields. Even so you'd average more than 1m an hour if you were willing to stay long enough to approach the expected value. Almost all the profit is in one drop, and a drop that you won't get but every ten or fifteen or even twenty hours on average. It's not uncommon to get dry streaks of thousands of kills. (Not that I've killed that many, but plenty of people have, and gotten nothing, and gone ranting.) So it's a pain. Uh... RC and hunter are the only two skilling methods that consistently profit much. Rune mining too if you can get available worlds. All the other resource gathering skills are closer to 300k. Herb collecting is probably 500k/hr from various sources. I dunno what's good though. Snake hides on mostlyharmless too. EDIT: Oh, and don't forget. Farm runs are like 150-200k extra for 5 minutes of work every 1.5 hours or so. Kingdom is about 200k for free every day. Buying out stores is several hundred thousand every day depending on which you're able to hit, and doing the rounds is like 15 or 20 minutes. Oh, and dragons. If you're willing to fight over spots with the bazillions of botters. Without having it affect your profits.

Is it really that good? Especially after expenses without a yak? Say you could get 25 rex kills an hour. I feel this is quite optimistic. That's one zerker, warrior, and hatchet per 4 hours. zerker 5m warrior 500k axe 2m So in 4 hours, you gain about 7.5m. Say you take 10+ casts of claws per kill. (probably over-optimistic) That's 10k on runes per kill. In those 100 kills, you spend 1m on runes. Brews and rests will cost you another 500k or so for the trip. So you net 6m in 4 hours. On one hand, I just got my figures to agree with your 1.5m/hr. On the other hand, I feel like I'm making huge over estimates everywhere. Personally, I can't kill 25 rexes an hour. Not even if I want to fight for the highest of population worlds. Moreover, current prices are unusually high due to the start of summer.
  21. Using a known proxy would be a huge red flag though. Plenty of proxy lists and I suspect Jagex cross references them.

Uh in short, best Armadyl setup under 4-5m. (Needs to include all pieces in price. Already have a glory and a zammy book.)
  23. Zephy posted a topic in Help and Advice
I would like to team and maybe occasionally solo Armadyl. After herblore, I have roughly 4m left over, and will get more as time goes along. What's a good general purpose setup for Armadyl in my price range? I currently have almost nothing relevant, except an unholy book and regular dragonhides. I would usually be able to borrow a chestplate. Thanks.
  24. Zephy replied to Brodly's topic in Help and Advice
You'd be fine in dhide, arma pendant, and unholy book. However, upgrading some pieces to god related items will let you take advantage of better defense in other slots, leading to less damage and less healing needed. In particular, zammy vams/coif are pretty cheap and let you wear granite shield.
  25. It's kinda weird where to put this. Since I'm not making a formal clan or anything. I'm not sure either. RSOF has gotten me killed at DKs and Bandos and I'm not really inclined to try again for Arma if I don't need to. Tipit seems to have a much higher average competence and cooperation.
