  1. Hm. You did herb fast, and now you're doing prayer slow. I did prayer fast, and now I'm doing herb slow. (Rofl @ 30k regular energy potions.) Want to have an unofficial race? (I'd have to train some melees too.)
  2. DFS

Zephy replied to Slaykan's topic in Help and Advice
Right click from inventory and empty. Anyway, DFS is a really good shield, but it's true, situations where you want extra defense rather than extra offense are uncommon.
  3. How many hours is your "week"? o_o
  4. pures can use ape atoll skeleton monkeys too. most pures do it anyways for the dragon scim. which now looks like crap. i'd say at least get a decent slayer level, like 55-60. its useful and looks better than 23 or whatever. Not 1 defense pures. They can't ever go back to ape atoll without getting some dozens of defense levels. Same reason why they can only get a few levels of RFD gloves.
  5. Sorry. Which what?
  6. While I don't remember the queen's max hit, I'm pretty sure it's higher than 90 lp. She hits every one at once. As such, I can't really figure out how someone without 200-300ish lp can do this, even on a stunt run. EDIT: RSWiki says 130 lp max hit. Lower than I thought, but still capable of one hitting you.
  7. Let me first say, you can make a profit at barrows but not very well, and for long term money making either level yourself up or find something else. There are surprisingly many low combat things with far better returns and exp to boot. Like what others have said, you will most likely be using a method which prays on all the brothers. Your defense is not enough to tank well, and you would be forced to safe eat. Prayer boosts such as monk's robes will be somewhat useful. However, since barrows has a fast prayer drain on a timer, the extent of this will be quite limited, and you will need prayer potions for even small amounts of combat time against the brothers. I would say: Mage the melee brothers. Melee karil. Ahrim will be hard for you regardless of whether you range or melee, but at least range is more consistent. In addition, you should bring metal armor and food for the tunnels. Btw, unrelated, get an amulet of glory, selling the obsidian cape if you have to. It's a significant improvement for general purpose RS. An example setup: rune full helm monk's robes top and bottom glory rune kite runes for highish spell (air blast is decent, maybe something else) (take 200 casts) mystic boots + gloves ring of life ammo Inventory: spade teleport tablet super set w/ range 4-5 prayer potions lots of monkfish full rune full dragonhide melee weapon range weapon Should last you two chests praying everyone. Which is hardly an efficient way to go, but think of it as fun.
  8. Santa was 25m when I quit. Looking at the graph, it seems it was reasonably stable around 30m for a while. What's with that sudden spike into the 60s/70s some months ago? Is it likely to fall soon? Ever? I don't think I'd be willing to put 70m into buying one. 25 seemed bad enough. If it comes back down after I finish my other goals, I'd consider it. What are everyone's thoughts on this happening?
  9. Why do you want this level? That motivation could make a difference in how much of a cost you might want to undertake. Platebodies are nice for speed, processing many bars at once, but they're also significant loss. An alternative you might want to consider is smithing either knives or unfinished bolts. These tend to be somewhat less of a loss because they are directly used, rather than platebodies generally becoming alchemy fodder. Granted, you only do one bar at a time, but you can still incorporate SC hammers and get a nice exp rate out. Check specific prices for market conditions before you start.
  10. I'm not at a level where having two spawns speeds me up by anything significant. I still like to keep the other demons comfortably trapped. It's quite annoying when someone logs in and kills one, only to have it respawn in my face later on. Worse is if they then lure it in the wrong direction and stack the demons on a spot. Add to that my less than spectacular luring skills and I'm usually the one forced to hide behind the rock and hop. I've started picking purposely slow worlds to avoid other people now.
  11. I, also, would quite appreciate one.
  12. Piety should beat out leech def, though? I dunno.
  13. Rock crabs were just an easy example of something cannonable in multi-combat with low quest requirements. They have the added advantage of barely hurting you even on 1 def. I'm sure there are cleverer solutions, though. You'll have a far wider range of options if you choose to use protection prayers for this. Given the cost of cannonballs, prayer potions aren't going to make the dent in your wallet much worse. Being pure limits your available chin spots. I can only think of mummies, and they have decently high defense. But probably being inaccurate is better than sitting through 70-80 pray on the cannon if you really have the gp to burn.
  14. Pure like 1 defense? A fast but expensive way would be knives + cannon on rock crabs to like 70/80 and then chinning mummies in the chaos tunnels.
  15. What do you suppose the drop rate is? I've thought about camping and I've heard all sorts of conflicting numbers.
  16. Someone has suggested I go abyss death runes. How much is this per hour at 73? (So no giant pouch yet.) How does it compare with monster hunting?
  17. There's a slight delay, and the max hit from the queen is enough to one hit.
  18. I don't know. But before you start, always do a trial of 1 and 10 each, to get a good idea of buy and sell prices.
  19. Sounds quite rude in context. Yet, ironically, not a bad idea at current prices. Or moss giants with lunar. Or castlewars ogres. Or any of the other fast bone droppers, if you can find a good bank method. When people say monster hunting, they usually discuss bosses, but plenty of nonboss monsters give really good drops. Anyway, bone collecting is really profitable right now, with curses being so desirable. Whether you should go for dragons or babydragons or big bones depends not only on your ability to fight, but possibly more importantly, your ability to bank. There's some really close big bones to banks/teleports.

If you really could switch perfectly in zero time (and this assumption might require predicting the future, since your internet, screen, and mouse/keyboard already introduces delay), wouldn't that make the comparison just the same as anywhere else? (Ignoring possibly the effects of the fire shield.) I'm still a TD noob, but I always assumed the tradeoff for slower, heavier-hitting weapons was to ease the switching, and to get the most extra damage in per switch.
  21. Because the average whip user has far better stats than the average dlong user. And I suppose whip's extra 40 LP or something of max hit over a dscim doesn't hurt either. What's wrong with the average whip damaqe? It costs more, it's harder to obtain, it has higher requirements. I don't see any problem You miss my point. Whip appears a lot stronger than it actually is, simply because the characters wielding it are on average innately stronger. They could just as easily produce (almost nearly as) amazing hits with a dscim.
  22. The idea behind solo flipping is to find an item that's volatile but not too much so, and to buy it at a relative low and sell it at a relative high. This is due in some part to other people's impatience and in other part due to natural price fluctuations. In practice, it's messy and I don't dare try it, because it's hard to tell whether something will continue to cycle or permanently lose some degree of value. There's a lot of details to it, and somehow I doubt anyone who knows them well is going to share. So, if you feel like risking your money on a trial run, go ahead, but this should have danger signs stuck all over it.

Super pots, void melee, and use your natural prayer and recharge at an altar every trip.
  24. Because the average whip user has far better stats than the average dlong user. And I suppose whip's extra 40 LP or something of max hit over a dscim doesn't hurt either.
  25. I'm pretty sure it lowers on each successful hit. I'll test it later. Side note: Hi. What are you doing that requires def lowering anyway?
