I think that where facts are available, opinions become moot. Evidence provided to back up my stance has been given. No evidence from the other has been seen. OPINION 1. A belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. 2. A personal view, attitude, or appraisal. An opinion is normally not backed up with evidence "I think" or "I believe". Give me logical reasons to prefer your opinion at the very least. I'm not saying RS is a MLG type of game. I'm saying RS has competition in it. That is all. It could be the duel arena alone, but that is competition. Seems to me other people like to insert their own beliefs into what others say, and then argue that (false) view instead of what is actually said. Sigh. Would you agree that the first part of your response was an opinion then, by your own definition? :P (see underlined part) ----- Anyways, I apologize if this damages the validity of my posts regarding the issue, but I'm just saying that people are just making mountains out of molehills when it comes to microtransactions, etc. Like I said-- if most players were buying SoF spins, or if the people constantly featured in the 200M Thread were buying spins, the issue might hold more weight. But that doesn't seem to be the case.

Yes, Stone, some people do consider RS competitive. But I don't think the majority of players do. However, considering that some players consider the competitiveness of RS a "fact," do you think that invalidates every other RS player's opinion regarding the issue, even if it's for the "greater good" of RS?

I don't think removing the SoF/microtransactions just to please a small minority of players would be a wise decision on Jagex's part.

I can understand that. And if I took RS as seriously now as I did back in like 2006, I'd probably agree with you. But when you play as infrequently as I do, the crap that Jagex pulls these days really don't bother you anymore, because you don't take RS seriously enough to care. And I believe more people would be better off with a mindset like that.

I understand everybody hates the SoF. My point is that they're overreacting. You get two free items a day. If you want to pay money, you can get more. If you don't want to "waste" your money, then don't buy more. As far as other people go-- what they choose to do with their resources is none of your business. People would be less upset if they worried more about themselves and less about everybody else. And if this SoF issue is upsetting everybody that much, then they have the option to quit and choose a game that offers better gameplay and customer service. It's pretty obvious that Jagex isn't going to significantly change their ways any time soon. Either deal with it or get out. I don't have any sympathy for the people complaining about an issue that they can choose to abandon at any given time. The people complaining about these updates are usually the ones that are too lazy/stubborn to adapt to change.

I don't think you can consider that an advantage... or at least, not an advantage worth complaining about. If only people could just accept the fact that inequality is inevitable.. People are just looking for drama/shit to complain about, and SoF provides that on a weekly basis :P Can't believe how close-minded some TIFers are these days :blink:

iirc, shilo is around 50k xp/hr. If you're lazy, inefficient, and enjoy playing Fist of Guthix and Stealing Creation like me, then fishing swordfish w/ swordfish gloves + clay harpoon is 95k xp/hr, and about as AFK as monkfish.

From a needs perspective: You need social interaction, femininity, and sex to satisfy some of your basic needs. Conveniently, a girl can satisfy all three of those at once, but you don't need a girl to satisfy those if you can't find one. If you have several close friends, that covers the need for social interaction. If you have any platonic friendships with feminine girls, that'll satisfy the need for feminine company/companionship. From an emotional perspective: Truth be told, it can be difficult to cultivate the long-term unconditional happiness mindset based on logical information. Unfortunately, since the nature of the perspective is emotional, it's practically impossible to describe in words. Anyways, most of what I've learned regarding that side of the issue came from this forum. More specifically regarding this particular question, you might find this post helpful. It wouldn't surprise me if they made it hideous on purpose, such that when they track its trading history for future SoF item marketing, they know almost for certain that people are buying it solely because of its status, and not its cosmetics.

That was a fun summer in RuneScape. 2006 was my favorite year in RS. I was in the Fight Caves at the time, while this account was my "pure." Void is 2% damage increase over bandos... I can't see the few extra scrolls being worth it... But it does help a lot in terms of choosing bandos for easier afk, knowing the difference is less than 2% thanks to scrolls. Charged helm means more specs per hour, meaning more xp/hour. But tieszen is below 95 summoning, however, so a charged helm is completely unnecessary.
