Fish Flingers Improvements...and Bigger Fish! (Members Only) In August 2011, we revamped the Temple Trekking minigame and we were really pleased with the results. This month, we bring you...the Fish Flingers rework! For those of you who don’t know what Fish Flingers is, it’s a great little player-skill-based D&D, suitable for all levels, where you and other players compete to become the greatest fisherman of all time...well, until the beginning of the next game, anyway. The rework’s first job will be to dramatically increase accessibility so that it’s easier to get to Fish Flingers games between bouts of ’normal‘ fishing. Not only will the start points be permanent additions to the map, but we’ll add more of them to popular fishing areas throughout the game. Competitions will also be far more frequent, running every 20 minutes, and you’ll be able to claim 2 tickets per day rather than just 10 per week. We’re adding a new ‘big fish‘ feature to the game, too. Players will have to cooperate with each other to land these whoppers, but the XP rewards will make the extra effort worthwhile for all. So, get involved, and don’t be koi! You don’t want to be the cod one out. We will also completely overhaul the nature (and size) of the potential rewards. The Fishing XP will be tweaked to reward fishers who find the best tackle combinations available. You’ll also be able to earn a brand new set of fishing gear, similar to the lumberjack outfit and the golden mining gear. Each piece will improve all your earned Fishing XP while worn. We’ve also changed the tackle box reward to allow you to store raw fish, and are implementing a host of other cool features too. Yelps is also getting involved with this update, as he temporarily renames his home ’The Squeal of Neptune’, giving you a chance to catch some brand-new cosmetic fish-themed attire! The Crucible - The Return of Bounty Hunter (Members Only) Back in 2011, we removed the “Bounty” mechanic. For many of you, it was a style of PKing you preferred to the traditional Wilderness, and we promised we would bring it back. Well, it’s back! And this time, it’s better than ever... The Crucible is a giant arena that players over combat level 60 can enter to do battle with like-minded opponents. Once inside, you’ll be assigned another player as your target, resulting in some of the most dangerous, vicious, and potentially rewarding combat available in the game. If you’re successful in your assignment then you will be given a grace period where you can’t be attacked, allowing you to run away from the action, bank your loot and then leap back into the fray. The entire area is based around solo play - so no multi-way combat - and combat can only be engaged between targets, so no rushing or PJing! Of course, you’ll need to be very sure of your abilities, because - as with all dangerous PKing - the winner of each fight will gain ALL the drops from their opponent. Players gain points through noble actions (e.g. not running away) and victories. These points can then be spent on unique death titles, and jingles to play to your slaughtered foes. The points are also used to determine a brand new feature to RuneScape – the Supreme Champion. If you have a high ranking within a Crucible game, you’ll have the chance to be temporarily elevated to the status of a Supreme Champion., You’ll be rendered invincible for a whole minute, and will be given access to a raft of brand new weapons only to be used within the Crucible, so you can go on a mad, crazy rampage where you can slaughter anyone in your way. Harnessing the dark powers discovered by the Crucible’s keepers, each weapon is suitable for different combat styles, with melee warriors claiming ’Annihilation‘, rangers wielding ’Decimation‘ and mages holding the mighty ’Obliteration‘ aloft. The Crucible’s a cruel, capricious place, though, and your fellow PKers will be waiting for revenge when you’re knocked from your lofty perch. We’re also relying on a new, special combat calculation to assign targets. This means your targets will be of an ability level that is equal or similar to your own, so skill and knowledge will rule the land. Between kills, you’ll also be able to loot corpses of long-dead warriors that are scattered around the area, providing brand new combat gloves; again, only to be worn within the Crucible. Powerful, and offering a healthy life point boost, we’re looking forward to seeing these gloves in use. A new hiscore table, tracking kills, is being created with the update, so we’ll soon know who the most powerful PKers are...officially! Combat Beta (Members Only) There’s a huge amount of news, reveals, videos and general chatter about the combat rework, so I won’t repeat it all here. Suffice to say that it’s the biggest thing we’ve ever tried to do and it has already had thousands of hours of development invested into it. If you want to check it out, the beta will be open to members only, and the combat beta contract item has been delivered to the inventory of every single account today (June 1st). If you want to help us to shape the future of the game, get involved! It’s not all about combat, either (despite the name), as it brings new action bars available for all players. Want to know what an action bar is? Sign up to the beta now! Keep reading the news updates and watching our videos to keep learning about the most exciting update of the year. Be sure to check out our new Combat HQ too! Have fun! Mod Mark RuneScape Lead Designer What is a 'Behind the Scenes' article? Behind the Scenes is a sneak peek at the planned game updates that we hope to launch in the coming month. This, however, is only a plan, not a promise that a particular update will be released in a particular way or at a particular time. To get you the highest quality updates as quickly as possible, we usually keep on tweaking and testing right up until the moment before release, so, sometimes things change or take a bit longer than expected. We aren’t afraid to change our plan if necessary, as we will never launch an update before it is ready.

200M in all Skills
Any ideas on what the combat xp/hour on the QBD is? I got 30k attack XP from killing her, plus an unknown amount of HP and ranged xp (rapier + steel titan). If you could get ~5-8 minute kills and do more than one trip w/o banking, then wouldn't it be better than dag sents?

If you had the change to do it over again....
I was actually just about to post this same question! Anyways... Yes, because of the friends I've made over the years. @Vezon: not sure if you realize this, but your question is something called "Zero-Based Thinking" (Google it). You just ask yourself, "If I was not in this situation, knowing what I now know, would I get into it again?" If the answer is NO, then the follow-up question is, "How can I get out of this, and how fast?" This principle applies to all areas of your life where you suddenly feel unhappy-- bad relationships, careers, etc. Basically, if you're unhappy with your current situation and you would not enter it again if given the option, then you need to get away as quick as you can before you waste any more of your time on something that isn't making you any happier! You really need to think about this and be real honest with yourself if you're actually gonna apply this principle to any major aspects of your life. Nobody wants to admit that they've been wasting their time on something lol (In your case, Vezon, this means you should stop playing RIGHT NOW if you haven't already)

Do you respect Jagex?
From a gaming perspective, not anymore. The content really seems half-assed these days. The squeal of fortune marketing's really obnoxious too. From a business perspective, no. Any business that sells a service should understand how critical customer service/support is. Jagex has pretty terrible customer service and doesn't seem to listen to player feedback. Unfortunately, I think Jagex realizes that their customers are addicted to this game and will keep paying them every month regardless of how shitty the game becomes. People would rather keep playing a deteriorating game than quit altogether. Think about the "worst" updates in RS history-- removal of free trade, microtransactions, etc-- not enough people quit to actually justify their resignations. So I expect the game's content and customer service to continue to decline, while moneymaking ploys continue to grow as long as their customers put up with it. I don't play this game frequently enough to take the changes too seriously. And for only $5/mo, it's still enough to give me something to do when I'm bored. I generally feel that if you're unsatisfied with the game, you should just quit playing and move on to something else, rather than waste your time on here expect things to change for the better.

29th May 2012 - QBD + Diamond Jubilee
This boss really pisses me off lol. Every time she spawns the tormented souls, my computer lags for like 5 seconds... it's like suffering from time freeze every time they appear <_< Killed her twice, but it's too difficult for me to kill her consistently w/o Nex gear :(

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
and this is why I love Randox. I see girls cheat on guys that are great people way to often, and the next poor bastard doesnt realize that if she's willing to give up a great dude for you, there's a serious chance that you'll befall the same fate. Speaking of which... reminds me of a documentary I watched on the science channel a week or two ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HA6nBS-KHEc As far as bisexuality goes, another documentary I watched basically said that all humans are bisexual... just because touching and being close to other humans, regardless of gender, makes you feel a lot better. Unlike other animals, humans don't have sex solely for reproductive purposes... it's just part of our really complex social systems. But in countries like the USA, we've been told that this is bad.

Ranged DPS?
Ok, thanks. Also-- does the chaotic c'bow have a further range than the rune c'bow? (I'm stuck using rune c'bow)

Ranged DPS?
Assuming the QBD has close to 0 defense, which would offer better DPS: dragonbane bolts or dragonbane arrows? (99 ranged, leech ranged, overloads, void)

29th May 2012 - QBD + Diamond Jubilee
I bought one for 1M yesterday and sold it for 2.5M... but realized since it's like 600 tokens it wouldn't be worth buying from the FoG store... takes too long to get that many tokens to justify the profits gained :\

29th May 2012 - QBD + Diamond Jubilee
Considering the QBD basically has 0 defense, would that mean dragonbane ARROWS are better DPS than the bolts?

29th May 2012 - SoF + Royal Costumes
Got the dragon cape today. Wish I could sell it, it looks dumb and has no stats lol

29th May 2012 - QBD + Diamond Jubilee
A friend of mine said dragonbane bolts are waaaaaay better than SoA btw

29th May 2012 - QBD + Diamond Jubilee
There's a royal coif too-- costs 455k and is fully-degraded. Who knows what its stats are when fully charged.

These kinds of things make me feel really bad for the people who go nuts if they can't obtain every single limited-availability cosmetic item

5'8, 125 lbs... I was only 105 lbs several years ago, but after only two months of weightlifting I shot up to 125 lbs, and haven't really gained any more weight since

Storm of Armadyl Pure
You might want to wait until we know what the updated combat system is going to be like before you pour all of your time and resources into making an account which, for all we know, could become completely useless in the next 2 months.

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Dude, using Google ads as a source of passive income is amazing. I have no idea how you can think less of him for that, lol.

50M and no patience..
The logical answer would be to quit playing >_>

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I definitely agree with that... Though, I remember when I was in my early-teens, my older brother (18 years older than me) told me that it's not just kids that make mistakes in life-- adults mess up constantly, yet kids still have this ideal that adults are flawless role models. Granted, adults probably have more common sense than teenagers, but still-- it's very easy to make poor decisions when one's environment is "influential" (for lack of a better word) enough.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
This is true. However it's pointless to agree if your actions aren't coherent with your remarks (and most peoples' aren't).

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Just change your train of thought... From: "They are sincerely scared of my height and voice" To: "My height and voice make them nervous because they are attracted to me"

Are you teaching a class anytime soon? :!:  You won't learn it through reading/studying. You have to experience it yourself to be able to detect all the subtleties.

Best places to use Iron titan/Yak/Steel titan?
Steel titan's just an upgraded iron titan basically-- it doesn't have to be within melee distance to attack, it gives you 5% more melee defense, and its spec does 33% more damage. If you ever play Fist of Guthix, the steel titan blows the iron titan out of the water simply because it ranges by default (people can trap your iron titan behind rocks). When you're using SoA on an opponent and constantly dishing out 400+ hits, while each of your titan specs hit up to 880, and your opponent can only protect against one of those, you're pretty much guaranteed to win... even if your opponent has full hybrid armor, lol. Most people die after the first titan spec because they pray magic and summoning, thinking that's enough. FoG is fun when you're in God Mode like that :P I used Yak in the Kiln when I got my cape for the first time-- but that's not very efficient if you're looking to farm onyx; in which case, again the steel titan is far superior to the iron titan there. Steel titan really speeds up glacor kills compared to iron as well. Yak is also great for slayer tasks like dragons, for banking hides easily (I use bonecrusher on blue/black drags; I use yak scrolls to bank bones for metallic dragons). As mentioned above, Yak really shines at DKs. I used my iron/steel titans for specters, though, because I cared more about finishing a task quickly than earning extra cash. I only use my iron titan now for training defense... I don't think I'll have any additional uses for it after I get 99 defense. I was fortunate to get 96 summoning from lvl 88 very very easily thanks to the first BXPW, where you got 2.7x summoning experience. I remained at 96 summoning from the first BXPW till January 2012, and was perfectly content with my iron titan-- I used it as much as possible (basically the same way I now use my steel titan). The iron titan is a huge step up from all previous combat familiars. Before iron titan, familiars will add like 15-20k experience worth of damage per hour if you're training with one. Iron titan adds at least 40k xp/hr (DOUBLE) with a charged helm; at least 50k/hr manually using scrolls + helm; and even more if using summoning pots on top of that. IN CONCLUSION, just get your summoning as high as possible. You won't regret it :P

Bonfires
There used to be a big thread on the RSOF suggesting it be called pyrotechnics and it had a long list of practical updates for the skill... guess it never came to fruition I propose oxidation-utilizationeering
