  1. No. I can't ever find teams so I'll just deal with base xp. I'd go with you. Still need 3. Anyway, was pretty busy today getting stuff done irl, so didn't play much. Did 86k agility xp at gnome adv, putting me 400k from 90 (dem sated effigies), as well as my usual 30k con xp via assists. Hopefully I'll have enough free time tomorrow to get 91 mining (open nourished mining effigies), and work more towards 90 agility.
  2. No. I can't ever find teams so I'll just deal with base xp.
  3. I did 2 more trips to frosts tonight and brought in another 4.5M Fished rocktails afterwards for a bit before getting bored and wasting xp by doing a random gargoyles task. However I did finally set some larger scale goals and reworked some of my ideas for gaining my completionist cape. Originally I was going to wait until I maxed to start dungeoneering again, but after some thought I decided I'm not going to wait that long. I originally thought there would be enough content to keep me busy while I wasn't DGing, but with almost 90M xp to go, I doubt it. So, in order to be a little more efficient with my time, I'll be dungeoneering straight to 120 once I hit 94+ all stats, so that I can open any doors. In my off time when floors aren't available, I'll continue to train skills as I would before, but DG will be my #1 priority. Before 94+ even happens though, I want to use up all of my effigies, which means I need to finish up my gorged effigy opening skills: 92 Agility 95 Runecrafting (will begin using dragonkins on rc/opening stages with rc at the same time) 95 Mining 97 Firemaking 95 Herblore 94 Construction All in all I need 14 more levels until I can open all of my effigy stages, so I am going to add that to my short-term to do list along with building net wealth from frosts and attaining my 90s cape. Just as with my previous short-term goal, I would like to have this done (which would of course lead to me opening all effigies/using dragonkins on rc for 99) by January 17th, but if not then by no later than the end of January. I know I said I wasn't going to set any particular dates on when I would need to have my comp cape by, but if getting comp in 2012 seems feasible, I'm going to go for it. Also, I bought 200 snapdragons seeds to begin farming and making unf pots to hopefully turn a profit once BXPW rolls around. I still need to buy ~1500 torstol for my overloads I plan to make that weekend, so I'm going to begin buying those soon also.
  4. I was considering BCP before tassets but I wasn't too sure. I'll buy zerker > bcp > tassets > claws > steadfasts now.
  5. Went ahead and did a BoB to see how what I was currently at: I'm hoping to push past 40M net wealth tonight, and possibly 50M by the end of the weekend. I went ahead and took a picture of my setup as well incase anyone was interested in going. This isn't the best setup possible clearly, but I'm currently working on attaining better gear (tassets, bcp, and berserker ring). I should easily acquire my berserker ring tonight, followed by tassets tomorrow/Sunday, then finally BCP early next week.: I head there with 1 yak summoned carrying 22 prayer pots and 8 more rocktail, and have the yak in my inventory for a renewal when needed. The more trips I make, the fewer food I'm bringing as I learn how to soul split a little better. I also manage 60 minute trips easily now, and am currently working towards 80 and 100 minute trips as I get better. Current profit/hr is anywhere from 2.5 to 2.8M an hour for me.
  6. Well I just started doing frosts again for cash last night and can verify that overloads are extremely worth it there for several reasons. First off, I usually last for 3-4 overload (4)s, which means I'm saving 9-12 inventory spaces by not carrying extreme sets. Next, 2 frost bones (under a minute of killing) makes up for 3 doses of overload. Seeing as one 4-dose overload (20 minutes) can grant you *40 kills at a slow-pace, that equals about 720k in frost bones, while your overload expense was a mere 40-45k for that 4 dose overload potion. Also, having your stats stay at 125 instead of repotting at 120 means you'll get faster kills. Finally, although the 500 lp damage might seem tricky, I just use EEE to negate the effect for the most part, meaning that the 500 lp you get back after the overload wears off is kind of a nice surprise. All in all, overloads can definitely be overkill in some places, but at frosts, they definitely are great to use over extremes. *this is just a basic example. Bringing a cannon into the equation greatly increases your KPH, and of course, profit. I average 160 bones/hr, or about 1 kill every 23 seconds. This means out of the 2.8M I make off bones, 150k, or 5.4% of my frost bone income is spent on overloads. Sorry for the long drawn out explanation, just trying to be thorough.
  7. I started off the night with 30k more construction xp via assists, giving me this. Hopefully assists will go a bit faster now: Afterwards I thought I would give frost dragons a try. I used them to make all of my money for all of my gear when slaying (brought my net up to about ~100M), but since then hadn't gone because I figured they sucked due the the special attack. After hearing about how well the the gp/hr still was, I bought some gear, and to my surprise, was very pleased. I spent about 4 hours total there, and brought in about 18M profit tonight. Part of the reason was because of my third visage: My first one was from an iron dragon task while working towards 99 slayer, and the second was from frost dragons as well when I used to do them often. I went ahead and bought a fury with the extra cash, and have about 5M left over now that I'll probably buy supplies with. I'm going to continue to skill as planned, but will be making frequent trips to frost dragons now to rebuild my bank. I want to amass a net wealth like I used to have, if not more, so I'll be investing in armor/weapons rather than just blowing all my money on skills right away. Currently need to buy tassets, BCP, zerker ring, and claws. Steadfasts later on once I get the money, although I'm considering a DIY pair from Glacors just for the lulz, satisfaction, and progress towards my 10k Glacor kills. All the extra effigies along the way couldn't hurt  My list is primarily based around melee combat, and also geared towards my ideal slayer setup I'd like to have for when I start slaying again. Obviously it will take a little time (I make 2.5-3M an hour at frosts right now) to obtain all this, but that's fine with me. I burn out if I camp frosts too long anyway, so skilling and killing should go well together. Plus, I'll need to continue to buy cannonballs and pots anyway. If things go well, I might get 99 ranged from cannoning frosts. I did about 65k range xp tonight, and am 75k off lvl 97, so I'll go for that tomorrow. After I got tired of frosts tonight I went ahead and finished up the 90k agility xp I needed for a level, giving me this: My short-term goal at the moment is to bring my net wealth over 100M (currently ~30M), and obtain the 90s milestone cape (8 more levels) before I go back to school on January 17th.
  8. Went to frosts again for the first time in probably 8-10 months or so. One 20 minute trip (only lasted 1 ovl, was getting used to killing them again, and forgot eee to counteract ovl) Tbh I thought they were steel legs for a second, and was like "hmm I don't remember these dropping steel legs... oh hi visage #3" (all from dragons)
  9. I disagree, with all the random drops from glaccors, even without boot drops I'm still making a few hundred thousand an hour, the boots are what makes it worth it, even with the rune prices. Though I'm meleeing his spawns, if you use the armadyl spell on them I'm not sure how profitable that would be. Well that was just based off of my personal experience over the most recent price that I paid per fire surge. I average 13 surges per Glacor, at 1,450 a surge (my last check), puts that at 18,850 ea, along with ~3k spent in ppots per Glacor, ~2k in ext potions per kill, plus several steel titan scrolls puts my expenses per Glacor at about 25k or a bit more. Seeing as shards for me are worth 120k (8 dust @ 15k ea) and are about 1/10, that leaves about 13k in expenses per Glacor to be made up in rune drops, rune items, ect, which is why I break even. Other people may profit slightly depending on a different inventory setup, familiar usage (obv steel titan adds to expense, but faster kills for example), and just plain luck (sometimes I'll get 2 shards in 40 kills, other times 5 shards in 6 kills, just depends). Plus, a few hundred thousand an hour profit often isn't enough to justify going to Glacors for most people. Just depends on how well you value your time.
  10. Frost Dragons: I'm looking into going back to frost dragons, but wanted to see if they were reasonable money anymore. I used to profit 2-3M an hour there, and wanted to know if that was still feasable. I've been once since their update that made them harder to kill, and 2-3M an hour didn't seem possible at that rate. Nevertheless, I would like to try them again if there is a way to kill them quickly still. My ideal setup for them would include: Neitiznot Fury BCP Tassets Dboots Rapier Ddef Fire Cape Berserker Ring (i) Reverence I would also be using overloads, super antifire, ppots (constant turm), yak + scrolls, and a cannon. Power Slaying: I would also like to start slaying again as another source of effigies (and also because I just enjoy the skill), and was wondering if it at least broke even. I would be using the same setup as frosts and replace the Neitiznot with a full slayer helm. I would also use overloads on any melee task and cannon whenever applicable, in addition to nonstop turmoil. I know it sounds expensive, but does anyone have any experience with this power slaying kind of setup as of recently and know whether or not it breaks even with the price of cannonballs/ovls/ppots/ect? If so, would anyone be able to provide a slayer task list that would be most applicable for effigy drops? Thank you!
  11. Glacors are very inconsistent from my personal experience. I managed to get 3 ragefire drops 3 nights in a row at one point, plus random drops brought in over 50M for about 7-8 hours of work. Since then I've spent probably a dozen more hours at Glacors with no boots drops. Plus, the current price of fire surge only allows me to break even, leaving all boot drops as pure profit. Basically unless you want effigies somewhat quickly, or are fine waiting around for boots, I wouldn't advise Glacors atm. Ganodermic beasts on the other hand are fairly decent profit for me right now (as well as a good effigy rate). I average about 2M an hour profit down there for the time being, and the expenses are very small compared to the money you make. The only downside to these is that there aren't any big ticket items such as boots or claws that glacors or tormented demons offer. The money comes from consistent seed drops (magics, palms, yews, ect.) and the ganodermic flakes/polypore staffs that you can make. I haven't been to frost dragons in a while, and am interested in possibly returning as a money-maker if they're decent to kill again. Due to their special attack, I heard they were a pain to kill, but I've heard several people mention 2-3M/hr profit still, which is what I used to make. Even if they are 2-3M/hr, it's another consistent money-maker you're going to have to cope with, with no big ticket items aside from an extremely rare chance at a decreasing-value visage (thanks to barrows). All in all I would probably go to tormented demons. A couple of people in this thread including Mierin know a great deal about them, and they apparently are great money and effigies once you get the hang of them. I have trouble killing them myself, so I can't speak from much experience, but I'm sure they profit nicely even with 16M claw drops.
  12. Very impressive blog! Your effigies definitely make me jealous, as I'm trying to collect them too, but am doing so at a much slower rate. Keep it up! Quick question though. By slaying efficiently using ovls, cannon, steel titan, turmoil, ect., are you at least breaking even on costs with the drops you get, or do you lose money? I'm looking into starting to slay again even though I'm already 99 just to bring in more effigies, and wanted to know. Thanks!
  13. 2,038 of each extreme, followed by turning those all into 2,038 overloads would put you at 96 from your current xp. I suggest buying the scroll of cleansing for 20,000 dungeoneering tokens to save millions in the process.
  14. I decided to relax and skill a bit tonight so I got a fishing level: I'm really beginning to like rock lobsters, especially since they'll help out my money situation quite well too. Definitely doing these to 99. Afterwards I decided I'd head to Ganos to test my luck and managed to profit 4M in a short 2 hour trip, plus 1 effigy, putting me at 150 total now. Assisted another 30k construction xp, putting me 19k off 93, which I will have tomorrow. Going to start training mining to 91 here soon so I can unlock all nourished effigy combos, as well as working towards 90 agility to finish off my large stack of sated agility xp. I considered opening my gorged fishing and woodcutting effigies tonight seeing as I had enough to give me a free 400k rc xp to get level 92, but decided I'd still hold off until I can open all gorged at once. I don't have any particular number of effigies in mind that I want; I'm just casually gathering them now as I skill on the side. Once I unlock all gorged combos I'm going to use all dragonkins as well, and then each effigy from that point on out will be used on the spot.
  15. Got this earlier: I ended up making 40 (4) ovls afterwards. Mierin was kind enough to teach me a bit about doing TDS, so I gave them a shot on a solo trip and the results were pretty bad. I dunno what it is about TDS but the odd spawns and seeing 4-5 attacking me ends up making me panic with prayers and makes my trips worthless. I might try them again later, but for the time being I'm going to get off for a bit then come back and skill tonight.
  16. Managed 90 mining tonight: Decided to give Glacors a try since I hadn't gone in a while, and was curious to see whether or not I'd profit from them. I bought 2k surges at 1,449 gp/surge, and made 5 trips to use them all, killing 156 Glacors total. Ended up getting 177 blue charms and 168 crimson charms, 22 shards, along with 2 more effigies. No boots unfortunately. After selling my loot I realized I just broke even, including the costs of steel titans/scrolls and prayer pots. So, I ended up buying 5k more surges that I'm going to try and use up tomorrow. As long as I break even, I'm happy, seeing as they're still good for effigies, and all boots would be considered profit. This was also the first time I'd been able to use a steel titan at Glacors, and I really enjoyed it. If my luck begins to pick up and I continue to work towards my 10k Glacor kills, I might just get 99 ranged from steel titan. Also assisted another 30k construction xp, putting me 48k from 93. I think I'm going to only assist this skill until 99 before I begin offering runecrafting just to save time.
  17. Alright. I'll probably buy 2k surges and test them out to see what I lose/profit. I suppose even if I lose some money, a few more effigies couldn't hurt.
  18. I've read that Glacors still turn a decent profit, but wanted to know if anyone has killed them consistently with the new expensive price of fire surge (~2k ea) and managed to break even/turn a profit on them. I understand boot drops are a determining factor in how long one can usually stay there, but would like to know if it's feasible to pay current surge prices there or if I'll be throwing my money away. Thanks.
  19. If you want to wear the quest cape, get 90 firemaking. If you don't want to get 90 firemaking, don't complain about not being able to wear the cape. Problem solved. OT: I'm looking forward to this month. Might try double-loot barrows. Definitely looking forward to training ranged with agility with the bonus XP though.
  20. Nice blog. I've got the same goal in mind as well. You've got some pretty nice slow stats like rc and agility out of the way too, so hopefully you can finish your goal. Feel free to add me in game.
  21. Are you planning on waiting until you max to start DG (most of it anyway)? Because if so we might be in the same boat lol. Maybe we could do a majority of 120 together if we happen to max around the same time
  22. Did a couple of long trips to ganos (+2 effigies) today and made about 12M, which I turned around and spent on herb to get this: Then I boosted to 95 to open these: I did troll invasion and penguins as well for 102k rc xp, plus 30k in construction assists. Afterwards I used the profit from ganos to make some more extremes: I'm going to try to get all extremes to the same amount as my extreme defence pots, then begin collecting torstol from money I make off ganos so I can be prepared for 99 Herblore (with the help of many gorged herb effigies) during BXPW in March. My only real goal for tomorrow is 91 mining, so that I can get the rest of my nourished effigies (18) out of the way for an easy 360k mining xp. If I have any time left I'll begin working on the levels I'm close to in (fishing, construction, herblore), although I have a feeling I might level them just off the sated effigies I get from the 18 nourished mining stages, but we'll see.
  23. Max. Maybe comp.
