  1. Mm, lovely lighting and scenery in that photo. <3: Pity I can't say the same for the mug in the foreground.

    Today...

Went for the first swim of the season! Nice, but cold -->
  3. There are plenty of guides out there on the internet; I'd suggest Googling. But generally, ensure it's clear and straightforward with no grammatical or spelling mistakes. You'll want to get photocopies of references etc, generally from well respected individuals - fx, if your family knows a local doctor who you say, did lawn mowing for, try and get a recommendation from them and just photocopy and attach. Try to aim for 2 - 4 references, if you're starting out. My father is a contract project manager, and as such is often in charge of hiring staff. When I first tried to get summer jobs etc, he gave me a bit of advice along the lines of: Self confidence is the most important thing, along with clarity. However, arrogance automatically turns me off. Basically, go into an interview knowing what you want and why you want it, being confident you're more than capable of doing the job. But don't saunter in assuming you deserve it. Also, be enthusiastic! Assuming you're a teenager (big premise there :3) you're probably looking to do 'unskilled' part time work. I'd recommend the service industry over manual labour, assuming you're being paid minimum wage; it's great to get early experience there as you develop contacts, especially in hospitality. I'd recommend clothing/electronics stores (if you like that), cafes and bars. Hope this helps.
  4. Economic Left/Right: -1.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.41 Not particularly surprised, but it has moved over the years towards more centralist economic policy and more become more libertarian. I believe mine was previously something along the lines of -4.5/-2.9 :P Reading up on neoliberal economic theory and taking economics papers have certainly persuaded me as to the benefits of freer markets, an example of which can be found in my signature.
  5. Kiwi - 1 - A small, brown, flightless, nocturnal, endangered bird native to New Zealand / Aotearoa. The name of the bird comes from the high-pitched 'call' it makes. Kiwi - 2 - Slang for a person born in New Zealand. Synonymous with hard-working individuals, talented artists & relaxed easy-going people. Kiwi - 3 - This is what the rest of the world, for some unknown reason, calls 'KIWIFRUIT'. Laziness and stupid marketing probably enter into it somewhere. Originally a Chinese Gooseberry, it flourished in NZ where its name was changed to reflect where it was grown. Named a KIWIFRUIT, stays a KIWIFRUIT , not a kiwi. Urban Dictionary
  6. Another kiwi! <3: Just noting the double entendre there.

  8. Ah. Hilarious -_^ Italics would've been helpful.
  9. Was that opining I'd missed sarcasm, or he would? Clarify :3
  10. I don't even... It's obviously this 'God's' way of punishing poor and non white individuals, too.
  11. Quite a bit more than 50k. :P Was it an armour off fight, by any chance..? [i notice the plate/legs in your inventory].
  12. In this case, I think it was more the lack of sleep. Nope, that's part of the garden. I'm lucky enough to live in New Zealand, where we have quite a bit vegetation.
  13. Just to make a brief point, Christian fundamentalism is not necessary biblical literalism. Having friendships with people who hold different views than yourself is always a good thing; if we just surround ourselves with likeminded individuals it often dulls the impetous to think critically about our own beliefs.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iRiIESuGCQ Exceedingly boss remix, wait for the drop at 1.09.
  15. They generally have a better sense of humour than guys, love that. <3
  16. - People who treat their bfs/gfs like sh*t (not annoyed from personal experience, rather my friends tend to come to me with their relationship troubles >:/) - People who walk slowly in front of me on the footpath! - People who ask me for cigarettes after only chatting briefly. - Friends of friends who can't hold their liquor and thus bring the whole evening down. Lots of others, too. I'm still composing the list!
  17. Well, this is myself looking slightly dissipated after waking up at 12.00 and having a few coffees and a beer for breakfast.
  18. I believe with 50 Runecrafting and playing the Great Orb Project, you can make 150k - 200k an hour via Water Talismans. I'm creating a pure (though it's also my main account) currently and training Mining really adds up. From 41 - 60 mining I made around 1.5m; good starting capital for whatever you want to do, and there's always the options to raise it to 70/85 if you're a nutter :3
  19. I'm just noting that the quest name could refer to a famous quote by Friedrich Nietzsche: "Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." - Beyond Good and Evil, Aphorism 146, 1844 I think this is definitely supported by the combat heavy nature of the master quest, and considering you alone decide Grayzag's fate.
  20. I feel that not much can beat a well mixed G&T. :shades:
  21. Right or Wrong? ... Between consenting individuals above the age of consent, who the hell are you to judge?
  22. The (relative) anonymity of the internet is a wonderful thing, and should be held to be sacrosanct. While certain nation states have the wherewithal to identify you if they really want to by putting political pressure on the countries which ISPs are based in, it's still an uncertain and very public thing. The internet allows people to discuss and talk freely about things which are taboo in their societies in countries, this encompasses not only certain fetishes but also support groups for minorities; queer/transgender individuals and atheists come to mind almost immediately. It also allows for quiet political dissents in countries which would not permit large public opposition groups (fx, China/Iran). More power to large corporations and governments is never a good thing, especially without justification. To quote Friedman, "Our minds tell us, and history confirms, that the greatest threat to individual freedom is the concentration of power." Yes, there are instances of pedophiles/illegal fetishes/identity theft/hacking and a bunch of other things on the internet, but local government or intra-national organisations such as INTERPOL appear to be coping and addressing them.
