As someone who's only PvP'd a little under the current system, and in FtP to boot - it won't affect me. If anything, the return of the 'old' wilderness will benefit pures pking in FtP even more.

Disregard the above advice. Get hitpoints via range training (which trumps melee at lower levels until around combat 60 or so) and simply train magic via non hitpoint boosting methods - I recommend doing Imp Catcher + Witch's Potion Miniquest for 9 magic, then Weakening/Cursing until 37 Magic, followed by Falador Teleport until 43 Magic, Superheating to break even/profit until 55, then alching to 60. MTK is most worth it when you can keep the coffers at 750k and above in order to maintain max favour; my advice would be to focus on a making another few million via Woodcutting etc for MTK/Dailies/Herb Farming/Training supplies etc.

As a gay guy who's currently in the process on joining the military (Basic is in March, and not, thankfully, the US one) I'm probably rather bias, but it doesn't seem to have effected the efficency or fighting ability of our armed forces to any degree. Admittedly, we have a rather more liberal society than some parts of the US - so that probably plays a role. Undoubtedly, militaries the world over have a pretty macho culture, but people suck it up (no pun intended) and do their job.
