    Today...

Happy New Years to everyone. My year already started off better. I'm not stuck in a holding cell :D Also sad news. Apparently one of the buildings in Dubai caught fire. Last i heard no one died, but 2 or 3 people were injured. Hopefully that's as bad as it gets. Amazingly though the building was ablaze for hours without collapsing or bringing down any of the surrounding buildings. So that's good too.

    Today...

Fell asleep with my AC on 2 nights ago. Woke up with a cold. Kinda think i'll have to cancel my plans for NYE, which is probably for the best. I'm thinking i might just spend it at home. Not sure with whom yet, but i'll decide tomorrow. Even if i end up spending it alone, it's still going to be better than last year when we spent the evening with the DEA. This year i'm thinking some soup, beer, and movies instead.

Shaved for the first time in ~5 months. Lost at least 7 or 8 years while doing it. Feels weird.
  4. I use cologne every day. I don't think i own body-spray/deodorant anymore. Most of it burns my skin, so i stopped using it when i could afford using cologne on a daily basis instead. I also find that it sticks to your skin a lot longer than body-sprays, so like when you're naked you'll still smell good for a few hours if you catch my drift. I think smelling great helps a lot with seeming more attractive. It's something that plays on one of your major senses and helps establish a good first impression.

    Today...

Found out a girl i used to "see" about a year ago entered into an arranged marriage. It was kind of a shock when i found out. I saw a picture on Facebook about 2 or 3 days ago, with a lot of people congratulating her. All of them also seemed quite surprised. We weren't exactly great friends so i would have expected her to tell me she was getting engaged or anything, but i am sure i would have seen something about it on Facebook. So when i saw she got married i found it kinda odd, and then last night i found out it was arranged. I feel really bad for her cause she's only met him 5 times in her life. She says she has very little in common with him. She's very westernized and he's very traditional. She's extremely hot and he's extremely average. Really never expected her family to be this "traditional".
  6. Lmao just because you have scars doesn't mean you're depressed. Are you competently lit? Scars are a remembrance of wounds once had. They're a lesson, so to speak. Lesson of what happened in the past, how you handled it, how you can avoid it in the future, and how to move on with your life. Telling someone they're "depressed" because they have emotional scars is ignorant and completely stupid. You might as well tell a woman her beauty is tainted because she has stretch marks after giving birth. Like seriously, do you even think about the shit you spew sometimes?
  7. I really never did all that much exploring in Fallout NV, and never really experimented with different weapons. I think for the most part i used one or two different pistols and maybe 1 or 2 different rifles. Like i said, i don't remember if there was a way to mod weapons in NV, but if there was i doubt i ever used it. I haven't used melee weapons at all yet, so i don't know much about them. I'm also kinda confused as to why they took the repair system out of the game. It was one of the first things that struck me as odd. But i guess it was to take away the feeling of having to grind to find certain weapons to use for repairing. The reason i prefer the new leveling system is that, to a degree, it's impossible to mess your character up. I understand that at the end of the day you'll be able to max everything since there's no level cap. But i don't think you'll be able to easily do that without either excessive farming or using some sort of exploit. I could be wrong though. I look at it like Dark Souls. Your starting character doesn't matter as you can level up however you wish after that. You can also choose to stop leveling whenever you want. You don't need to spend the perks if you don't want too. But it's there for the people who enjoy maxing out everything. Not quite sure what to say about the power armor. I have already managed to get 3 different sets but i don't use them at all. The sound of running in it annoys me so i kind of ditched it. I agree though, seems a bit OP to get it so soon and so easily. And the one specific quest i actually had to look up had to do with a castle. I'll spoiler tag this: [hide]It's the part of the quest, after taking back the Castle for the Minutemen, where you had to activate the Transmitter. To do this you had to go into the castle and connect a generator to a power cable, then go outside and connect the power cable to the transmitter. You needed a certain amount of power though (i think 20?) which was either one large generator or two medium generators connected to each other. The entire quest isn't exactly hard, it's just knowing that you needed 20 power to make everything work probably came down to taking a lucky guess. I tried connecting small generators in several ways and tried using a medium generator but i couldn't find the solution so i finally had to give up and look it up.[/hide] I think there was one more quest that was similar in the sense that you can do it without looking for the answer, but it's probably going to come down to a lucky guess. I'll see if i can remember which one it was. I should probably add that even though i did finish New Vegas i kind of rushed through the game at the time. It was an impulse buy and at that time it wasn't really the type of game i was hoping it would be, but i wanted to finish it anyway. So i'm not really able to compare 4 to NV aside from the very obvious things like the leveling system.
  8. Been dividing my time between Tomb Raider, Smite, Black Ops 3, and Fallout 4. Tomb Raider turned out a lot better than i expected. It was kind of an impulse buy, but i really wanted to see what it had to offer anyway. Last time i played a Tomb Raider game was on PS1 and it was one of my favorites at the time. Thus far i am impressed. The only negative thing i can say is that i don't see much replay value at all. There are (thus far at least) no branching options or game changing choices to be made. Everything seems pretty linear. But i still think its worth the money. It's probably going to take me ~30 hours to do everything i want to do, so i guess ~$2/h isn't a bad investment. Fallout 4 is great. It's exactly what i expected. So much to do you're not really sure were to start. I don't really remember if Fallout New Vegas has the ability to craft/mod Weapons and Armor but i like how simple it is to do in Fallout 4. And i like the new level-up/perk system a bit better as well. Another thing i like (and i know this was in previous titles, i just never used it) is the follower/familiar thing. I've been finding them extremely useful. I think i have about 20 hours in Fallout 4 already, and i doubt i've even scratched the surface. Really enjoying it thus far, though the only complaint i have is that some missions almost require you to look at guides. I think i've done 2 missions/quests that i would never have been able to complete without looking them up. Kind of frustrating for someone who wants to do everything on their own. Aside from that, this looks like a 100 hour game easily. Black Ops 3 has been fun. I don't think it's as good as AW, but it's close. I think if AW fixed some of the broken mechanics, and fixed weapon balance, it could have been the best CoD since BO2 and maybe even ever. There were just a few too many things that kept it from being a great CoD though, and these things don't seem to be present in BO3. Thus far i have found the weapon balance to be fairly good. Some weapons are maybe slightly OP (Vesper and M8), but aside from that it's fairly balanced. In terms of Esports i see a decent year for CoD. It seems like it's already seeing some growth with 2 of the major Esports Orgs (TSM and C9) already trying to get teams together for the CWL (CoD World League). Treyarc also seem a bit more interested in listening to the community than Sledgehammer did. I think that's a big reason AW was such a mess. 2015 was probably the best year in gaming in a decade. So many great titles this year.

I hope you do know that more than half of the people here are not Americans? I don't see why that should matter. I'm not going to change my opinions just because certain people are too sensitive to hear them or find them offensive. Like i said, if they find my opinions offensive then it's their own problem and they need to do something about it. That's because it's not something you can vocally explain to someone. It's something you have to experience for yourself. Are you incapable of understanding that concept?I don't know why anyone responds to you at this point, it's never pleasant Then don't? If you're too sensitive to read my comments, if they offend you, then ignore them. Sounds like a pretty simple solution if you ask me. But like i said, i'm not going to change my opinions just because certain people are too sensitive. I'm not going to sugarcoat anything, and i'm not going to tie bows around anything.

If you find my "condescending tone" offensive... well offense is taken, not given. That sounds like more of a "you problem" so like... you should probably do something about that yourself. EDIT: Look, all hostility aside. All i'm saying is that there are reasons some things are done the way they are. There are reasons some things work the way they do. I'll never agree with every law and every policy in this country, but i will agree with many of them as those are the laws that make this one of the safest countries in the world. It's survival of the fittest and you do what you do to stay on top of the food chain. The middle east is 3rd world. Not only is it 3rd world, it's also very behind the times. This country is now where America was 200 years ago, and the main reason for that is because 50 years ago the majority of citizens here still lived in the desert, in tents. Things take time to change, and expecting the middle east to just convert to a western life style in 10 or 20 year is ridiculous and i would questions the intellect of anyone that assume it is possible with this culture. Additionally, just like you claim the majority of Americans are just as apposed to their foreign policy as the rest of the world, many (if not most) of the locals are apposed to many laws and policies here. But unlike the America, this country is not a democracy. We take what we get (in terms of "rulers") and pray he doesn't [bleep] us in the ass over night. And to make matters worse, many of the laws and policies don't even depend on him. Not with how the culture works. I don't expect anyone who hasn't either lived here for a long time, or done a lot of research and studying on the cultures and history of the middle east, to understand what life is like here. But making asinine statements like "this is why the west laughs at you" is not only ignorant, but it's baseless and inaccurate. It's very much inline with my "it's a waste of time debating anything Middle Eastern related with Americans unless you're debating where to start invading and who's oil to steal first" comment. Just because something is the way it is, or seems the way it seems, doesn't mean people agree with it. Sometimes they're just unable to change things. Hopefully you'll manage to see the irony and hypocrisy in some of your previous posts, and maybe in the future if this topic ever arises your comments will be a little less ignorant and bit more informed.

I'm sure there are websites on the internet that would be able to give you more information on the immigration system and laws of the middle east, if you're interested. As i said, it's a waste of time debating anything Middle Eastern related with Americans unless you're debating where to start invading and who's oil to steal first.

I had a pretty long and detailed post typed out but i figured it's best i keep it to myself. When it comes to the Middle East there really is no sense in trying to "debate" about it with an American. So i'll just leave it at that.

Oh so as long as you don't take out a bank loan (assume it was possible) you're fine to stay in a country without a valid Visa, and do as you please?

    Today...

Well if they bail and the government comes after you, then practically speaking your obligated to keep track of them. Basically a few years ago (before i came here) people would come to the country for business. They'd work here a year or two take out huge loans at the bank, then flee the country. Or they would pile up a bunch of traffic vines and flee the country. If i remember correctly you were able to take out a loan up to 16x your salary or something like that. So a lot of people took advantage of it. The government caught on and they changed the immigration system to prevent these things from happening in the future. The system was meant to change several times now, to make the process easier but it's the Middle East so no one is really in a rush to do anything. And people who come here for business usually just put up with the system because let's face it they're probably getting paid 3 times more what they would in their home countries. And these things are generally more a problem with the blue collar workers as they're usually the people most likely of running away. Think of it as me going to the US on a Student Visa then either refusing to leave when my Visa expires, or i decide to [bleep] college and travel instead (which in most cases would be a violation since you have to spend x-amount of time on campus). Who's the government going to go to first? The school i was meant to be at. Does that mean they are legally obligated to babysit me? No.

Who ever said there was a law that requires you to keep track of them? Most people don't ever see or hear from the people they sponsor more than once a year (when they have to renew their residency permit).

    Today...

Friend of my dad left the country last night. He's headed back to South Africa. He was meant to be gone 2 days ago but there were complications. Apparently the maid that was working for them previously, was on his sponsorship. That means before he can leave the country she has to either change her sponsorship to someone else, or leave the country as well. She told him she would leave the country the day before he leaves and then she'll find a different sponsor to come back. Only she never left the country. So when he got to the airport he was told, at passport control, the he couldn't leave the country. He was quite furious. So he had to spend 2 days trying to track this woman, because now she was basically a "runaway". He actually had to threaten her "boyfriend" to turn her in to the police because of something he did (i can't remember what) that wasn't exactly by the book either. This actually happens so often, where one person would sponsor another to enter the country and at some point that person would become a "runaway" leaving the initial person with so much hassle in the future. We had a similar issue with one of our maids previously although we never wanted to leave the country, we just had to change sponsorship. But we couldn't because a woman we were sponsoring was basically "missing" (pretty sure she ran away as well). I've known this guy for well over 5 years and i don't think i've ever seen him this mad before. It's funny that people always frown upon people keeping their employees' passports, but this is one of the main reasons they do it.

Enjoying the crap out of Fallout 4 right now. Got it last weekend i think (or some time during the week) as well as Tomb Raider and both games are awesome. Been hard to tear myself away from it. Couple of other games i'm really looking forward to coming out over the next few months. I pretty much have no social life at the moment.

i haven't had a haircut for 3 or 4 months till today, so it was a really awkward length. It was hard to make it look decent, unless i like combed it back. And because i got all the great genes in my family, i have a receding hairline that gets worse each day. So if i comb my hair back it looks... pretty bad. And my whole appearance looked pretty questionable because of the 3 month old beard i have as well. So one of them had to go, and the long hair lost out.

I'm still like 8 or 9 months smoke free, since i quit. It's strange because i haven't really noticed much of a difference in terms of my eating habits. The first few weeks i noticed a difference. I always wanted to eat something, but that was mostly because i felt agitated. I craved junk like sweets and chips, not actual food. But after that my eating habits pretty much went back to what they were. If anything i've lost a pound or two since i quit. I still get really bad cravings sometimes. I started entertaining the idea of getting some new oils for my e-cigarette but it's so hard to get them, i don't even know if it's worth it.

When i was studying in the US, a friend and I bought an old Cabrio. At one point the window stopped working as well. It didn't wan't to close all the way, so there was always like an inch or two open. And eventually it just didn't want to go up at all. We opened up the door the one day to see if we could figure out what was wrong with it and noticed there was a convenient hole right under the mechanism. So we took a plastic cup, wrapped it in tape (i don't really know why) and placed it in the hole. The mechanism rested on the cup and it kept the window shut from then on. We even ended up selling the car like that.

I really didn't like AW, except the campaign which was pretty good. BO3 campaign is awful, I couldn't make it past the fourth level because it's just so boring. The online feels more responsive and balanced though, maps are actually fun and zombies is almost worth it on its own. I know a low of people disliked AW because the movement was too big of a leap. You went from "boots on the ground" to halo in just one game. I really liked the movement though. If it wasn't for the pisspoor matchmaking, i probably would never have stopped playing AW. But when 9/10 of your games are 1-bar games, then it really just sucks the fun out of it. BO3 so far though is actually really impressing me. Guns seem pretty alright in terms of balance. I've been using several different guns and been doing alright with all of them. The movement also seems... more fluent. Less forced. There's a lot less BS deaths. It's fun. I'll probably try the Zombies out eventually, but that's never really been my thing.

Lmao... yeah, i actually didn't think about buying them online. Thing is my card isn't connected to my Xbox Live account so whenever i want to buy something online i have to buy the gift cards first. So usually it's not something i think about. I might just go do that tomorrow. As for BO3, i actually think AW was better. Despite all the hate it got, even from myself, i really enjoyed it. The only thing that really ruined the experience for me at times was the connection and the matchmaking. BO3 seems a bit harder because it's so easy.

Store didn't have Fallout 4 nor Tomb Raider :s Virgin Megastore probably has it, but they're not within walking distance so i couldn't check there. Settled with Black Ops 3 for now (until my car's able to navigate these damn roads again). It's actually better than i expected.
