    Today...

All i'm gonna tell you is be careful what you eat. My experience in Vietnam wasn't as pleasant as i had hoped. Then again, i have a pretty sensitive stomach.
  2. One of my cars back in the US had a similar problem. The elevator on the driver's side broke. At first it was so that the window just wouldn't close all the way, leaving about a 1 inch gap. Later on i'm not sure what happened but gradually the gap became larger to about 5 inches, and then one day it just went all the way down. My friend and i actually ended up taking the door apart and jammed a plastic cup (very hard plastic of course) stuffed with newspaper and all taped-up, into a hole that somehow managed to keep the window all the way up. Well, there was still a very tiny gap but it was hardly noticeable. And because the car was convertible the sound of the wind coming through the tiny gap was pretty much also unnoticeable. Quick and cheap "fix". Only downside was that we could obviously never use that window.

I have a question for you guys, and this is based off of something i recently read on Facebook: 1.) Do you think a Transgender person is obligated to tell someone they meet that they are a Transgender. And i don't mean just any and all random persons they mean, i mean a person they intend on dating in the future, hooking up with, etc. If yes, when do you think is the appropriate time to do so? 2.) So you think someone with a criminal record is obligated to tell someone they meet that they have a criminal record. Again, not just any random person they meet, but someone they intend to get intimate with in the future.

Finally got my VISA for Greece today. Took 2 weeks, which is really weird since it usually only takes a few days. On my way to the Embassy to pick it up i saw two accidents. I swear the accident rate goes up so much during Ramadan, it's crazy. One of them looked like a pretty serious accident too. SUV rear-ended a mini-bus and it was hard to tell where the bus ended and the SUV started. Anywayyyyy... can't wait to spend 3 weeks in Greece. Going to be fun.

    Today...

I look at it this way: If you ask a girl out on a date it's pretty much the same as asking someone over to your house for dinner. You don't expect them to bring their own food, but generally it's considered good manners to ask/offer to bring something. So if you ask someone out on a date, they have every right to assume you're also offering to pay for the date, but that does not prevent you from offering to pay for yourself. This goes both ways, whether it's a guy asking a girl, or a girl asking a guy. To me it's always a big red flag when i take someone out on a date and they don't at least offer to pay for themselves, or offer to leave the tip since i paid for the date, or whatever. Kind of reminds me of a date i had a few months ago, with a girl who claimed she was "a big supporter of the feminist movement", but was greatly offended when i asked her why she didn't even offer to pay for herself and responded with "paying for dates is the man's job".

Sounds like mostly microbrews that you tried. Although the one macro, Moosehead, is basically moose piss. Maybe it's Moose semen. The name would make sense then.
  7. Dude you look so much different without your beard. Took this like a month or three ago and messed around with filters and shit, and somehow this happened. I thought it looked pretty cool.

I used to drink Bud Light when i was in the US. I don't know why, but i [bleep]ing loved it. Probably going to sound weird, but it had a very very slight banana bread taste to it. And the fact that i could drink 20 and not get drunk was a major upside too.
  9. Played some Witcher 3 earlier for the first time in... months. Can't even remember the last time i played, but it was probably well over 4 or 5 months ago. So much has changed, it's crazy. I'm gonna buy the last DLC soon and then do a full playthrough again. Really impressed by what they did to the UI. It looks amazing now. Really missed this game. I don't know, but this is the game that changed so much for me in terms of what i look for in games now.

    Today...

Feels weird sitting at home all day and not going to work anymore. Spent the entire day playing The Division, eating food that'll most likely give me the shits later on, etc. Can see that the novelty will wear off soon though, so i need to start organizing my VISA for Greece within the next day or two. Kink of stuck in an awkward spot though. "Friend" of mine asked me if she could come with me when i go. On the one hand it'll make things a lot more convenient for me, but on the other hand it might complicate things. I'm not going there for holiday, and i don't want her to get bored after the first 3 or 4 days. Additionally, there's a girl at the school i'm going to that's pretty in to me but she doesn't know whether or not she'll be there when i plan on going. Guess things will work itself out in the next two or three days. EDIT: And damn after reading the things about RS yesterday i felt tempted to jump on for a few minutes to see how much has changed. But just the idea of it already put me off. I find myself wondering how i ever managed to spend so much time on it.

    Today...

Have to go back because if i don't work in Qatar i don't have a VISA, which means i can't legally stay here. So if i can't sort out a way to get a VISA some other way, i'll have to go back till i can get one. My boss said he's willing to help me out if he can, only problem is the owner of our company really doesn't "approve" of doing things like this so if he finds out it's not going to be pretty. So if my old company can't continue being my sponsor, then he said he could always try and find one of his friends to help me out. I'll have to wait and see. Not really sure how i feel about moving back to SA. Last time i was there was in like 2010 or something. It's going to be a crazy lifestyle adjustment.

Turns out i might have to move back to South Africa for a few months in the not so distant future. Not sure how i feel about that.

Actually one of my friends from Spain is in the same situation. He's had his license for over 2 years now and he's still struggling to find a job. There are airlines where you can easily find a job though, but they require you to pay for your own type-rating, which is anywhere from 20-35k. And not a lot of people have that sort of money just lying around after already spending 100k-150k on the initial training. Kinda sucks. I already have the money for my type-rating saved away so i won't have the same problem. Pretty sure i will be able to find a job in the EU without too much trouble.

Well the US wasn't really a place i considered anyway. Apart from the licensing being different, there are other factors that make the US a bad option for me. We spoke to some retired pilots back in 2012 and they were telling us that for the first year or two they earned less than buss-drivers. After spending a good $150 or more getting to the point where i can start flying for an airline, i kind of want a job that pays a bit better than that. And i think the aviation business in the US is pretty competitive judging by how many different airlines there are. So if you start working your way up from the bottom, you're going to be paid barely anything. Preferable i'd like to, eventually, end up somewhere in EU or maybe somewhere like Emirates or Etihad. There are a few Asian airlines i wouldn't mind working for either. But i don't think i'd ever want to fly in the US commercially (if i chose to get the required licensing of course).

Kind of was the initial plan. But if i do ever become a pilot i don't think i'll really have any financial problems regardless of where i end up working.

    Today...

Few different reasons to be honest. But mainly i just want to try and focus on my flying for now. I had a pretty deep conversation with a friend of mine the other night and it made a few things become very clear to me. I've always had a lot of trouble finishing something i started. With everything from day-to-day activities, to games, fitness, etc. I started my aviation training back in 2011. It's a course that should have taken me no longer than 2 years at the very most. It's been 4 and a half years now and i'm still at the exact same spot i was at the end of 2012. I got really close to finishing, but then i just... fell off. And it's not because i stopped enjoying it, it's just because the end was in sight. Same thing went for when i was studying Law and also when i was doing Psychology. I breezed through the first year or 18 months, and then i just stopped. I still live with my parents even though i've owned an apartment for the past year. I kind of dislike "what i've become" and i feel a large part of it is due to living here. I don't have to do anything for myself, i'm not bothered about any sort of personal professional growth, and it kind of feels like if i keep going at this rate i'm going to be 40 years old and still living with my parents just because it's "convenient". I earn more than that my dad earned at the age of 35, when he already had a solid 10-12 years' experience. Only difference is he was truly independent, whereas i'm pretty much a man-child with disposable income. I don't value money the way i should. Anyway... kind of went a bit deeper than i planned with this post. But basically i just want to finish what i started and get my act together.

Handed in my notice at work today. Not quite sure when my last day will be, but probably within the next few weeks. Gonna be fun finding a replacement.
  19. Kinda just waiting for the next Division patch. So sad that a game with so much potential is so broken and kind of... lack luster. Just sticking to Destiny while i wait.
  20. My ex used to hang out with people like that. People who would start shit in our relationship. "Oh if my boyfriend did that i would be so mad at him!" The [bleep] was single, and for a good reason. No one could stand being around her crazy shit for longer than a few minutes. But my ex still, for whatever reason, was really good friends with her. Her friend started so much shit between us that i actually had to give her the "Me or her" ultimatum. Even after we broke up this "friend" would still cause drama and talk shit, and my ex still decided to be friends with her. My only reasoning is that people who are acquainted with people like that do so because they crave the drama. They enjoy it, despite what they say or how they act.
  21. That's a huge plus for me imho. Same. I always seem to get the girls who are really messy drunks and they end up doing embarrassing shit. I'm not a big drinker myself, so the less she drinks the better it is.

    Today...

It's 86 right now with 55% humidity. My room is on the 3rd floor which for some reason is easily like 5 or 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. It really isn't fun.

    Today...

It's so [bleep] hot. Summer is well on its way. And my AC broke yesterday and maintenance will only be able to come tomorrow or the day after. I'm dying.
  24. Diablo 3 got another big update 2 days ago. Played a few hours, but i think i'll wait a few weeks before i continue again. I want to wait for until a few decent builds have been theorycrafted before i bother playing again. Last season i ended with GR85. This season i'm hoping to push 90 or maybe even 95 if i can. Will probably do it with my Wizard or WD. Until then i'll probably continue playing The Division and Destiny. Been playing The Division a lot lately. Really getting into it now. My gear's improved a lot and i finally feel like i'm getting somewhere. Something about The Division still kind of bothers me though. The game has so much potential, but i feel like the content we've got at the moment is really holding the game back, or just not doing it any justice. I'm hoping future updates will fix this though.
