Saw a photo on Facebook today of a guy chilling with his falcon at Mcdonalds. Just sitting there, on the side of the table.

I used to play pretty casually with my friends back in the day. I only played Arena, and only as Ymir. I was pretty good at it though. Haven't played in over a year though. I don't even remember who i used the when i played it in the Beta. I think maybe Ra or Anubis. But i've been using Medusa in Conquest for a good 20 or so matches and i think i've found my grove (or perhaps just playing against really bad players?). Over the past 10 games i've had 87 kills and 20 deaths and probably somewhere around 140 assists. I think that's pretty alright.

Been playing more and more Smite. And the more i play, the more i want to play. It's been a long time since i've been this "addicted" to a game. I'm getting a bit better too. Started playing with Medusa and i think i'm starting to find my grove. Gotta go back to the BMW dealer later, but i almost don't feel like leaving my chair.

Went to test-drive some cars today. Oh boy... made the choice so much harder. Tbh they all pretty much feel the same over all, there are just little things here and there that set them apart. The Audi is probably best bang for your buck because it's slightly cheaper but still has a pretty big engine (4.2 litre v8) and it just looks so sexy. Right now it's a tossup between the M4 and the RS5 since i have a friend that works at the BMW dealer and he might be able to get a good deal for me. These cars make my Mustang look like a low-budget toy though. German cars almost drive themselves, it's crazy.
  7. Started playing Smite today. Played it a looooong time ago when it was still in Beta and was pretty bad at it so i stopped playing. Decided to try it out again and the first few hours were really rough. Pretty much got my ass beat the whole time. But now i'm starting to get a bit better. Need to run to the store later to get some Microsoft Giftcards so i can buy the Godpack cause right now i'm still playing with the free gods. But it's been fun so far.

Do most people where you are drive those sorts of cars? I think Toyota Land Cruiser is the #1 sold car in the country closely followed by Nissan Patrol. Based on what i see on the road, no statistics. The locals mostly drive "expensive" cars. Lot of German cars and Land Rovers as well. The general population though, no. The cars are what you would see in any other country. In my neighborhood though, the cars are very expensive. Neighbor on the left has something like 15 cars. It includes a Bentley, Rolls Royce, and a Mercedes SLS. Neighbor on the right has a Maserati GranTurismo, a Porsche 911, and 1 or 2 other cars i would classify as above average. I think they're considered to be wealthier locals though. It's not like every Qatari family has that many cars.

The car i have now is pretty uncomfortable to drive. I thought it would be fun having a convertible, but i hardly ever put the roof down because it's just too hot and when it's not too hot it's too humid. Aside from that, it's hard to explain, but i have a hard time really seeing what goes on around me. It's like the car has so many blind spots. I just don't feel that comfortable driving it. Been thinking about getting rid of it for a while, and i guess this was really just the motivation i needed. In terms of savings... well even if get a new car i still save about half my salary each month. I have a housing allowance, a car allowance, and a phone allowance, so all i really need to pay for is food and a bit extra for my car since my allowance doesn't fully cover that. And i don't have to pay any taxes so there's that. Whatever is left goes into an account in the Caymans. As for traveling... strange as it seems (considering i'm training to be a pilot), i really dislike traveling. I have a few "business" trips lined up in the next 4 or 5 months to Vegas, London, Barcelona, etc. and i'm really not looking forward to them.

I need to start marking holidays on my calendar. Got dressed for work and shit, got in my car and realised there was like zero traffic. Half-way to work there was still no traffic so i checked my phone only to realise it was the first day of Eid. So i have the next few days off. Figure i might use this to buy a new car. Just need to decide what. I've at least narrowed it down to a Benz C63, Audi RS5, or BMW M6. Maserati was still a bit out of reach unless i didn't go out for like the next 3 or 4 months. And the ones within my price range weren't all that nice either, to be honest.
  11. Don't worry i assumed it was sarcasm. I was just making a reference to something i read on a DS3 trailer video when another Bloodborne vs. Dark Souls 2 argument broke out and someone kept insisting that Dark Souls 2 was better because the only thing Bloodborne did better was the lore, and lore doesn't matter.
  12. dark souls is an rpg lore doesn't matter ;) Yeah lore has only been like the biggest selling point to Dark Souls. But lore doesn't matter.

Probably the biggest upset in World Cup history.

South Africa just lost the first game of their Rugby World Cup campaign against Japan. I am like... disgusted...

I don't think that's the case here, unfortunately.

So i just read that a 14 year old kid in Texas got arrested for taking his home made clock to school. I should probably add that the kid's name is Ahmed Mohamed so it was obviously not at all a racial matter. Well done Texas.

Well the reason i chose to compare USA to SA is because they both have similar pasts regarding segregation/apartheid. So there's bound to be a lot of racially fueled murders. And because i believe there are some parts of the US that are very comparable to parts in SA in regards to economical and educational status. With that said, i think my biases will always lean more towards guns than it would against guns. I've been in multiple situations where owning a fire arm was the likely reason things ended in our favor. Had it not been for that, i would have been orphaned at the age of 3, again at the age of 5, and again at the age of 8. And this is coming from someone who lived in one of the "better" parts of the suburb. Gun control isn't going to take the (illegal) gun out of a criminal's hand, it's only going to take the (legal) defense mechanism from the innocent. And as i said previously, even if you do manage to get a large portion of illegal weapons off the streets at first, all you're essentially doing is creating an even bigger black market thus funding criminals and as a result you're also more than likely encouraging corruption. It's only a matter of time before someone at customs is bribed to look the other way as a few crates of weapons are carried through. Additionally, much like South Africa, USA is a gun-cultured nation. Guns have been around as long as people can remember. It's unwise to try and completely take something away that has been a big part of your history. Lastly, regarding South Africa's crime rate in general. It's probably a very well known fact that it's the country with the highest crime rate in the world. Crime has been getting worse year after year, with or without guns and gun control. A lot of this has to do with the economic state, but when it comes down to brass taxes it doesn't really matter. The point is that crime will happen no matter what. A criminal will commit crime with or without a gun. A killer will kill with or without a gun. But the average person might not be able to protect and defend themselves without a gun, and those are the people you really punish with gun control.
  18. Noxx replied to Leoo's topic in Off-Topic
People who believe stricter gun control will solve (or at least reduce) the problem are probably in for a rude awakening. If you take a country like South Africa as an example, they implemented stricter gun regulations like 8 or 10 years ago. Since then, the number of gun related deaths has been fluctuating in the same region (give or take a few hundred deaths). There was no rapid decline, and there never will be. By bringing in stricter gun laws all you're doing is growing the black market for weapons and theoretically funding criminals. If someone wants to use a gun, they're going to use a gun. No gun policy is going to change this. I don't know why people always jump on the "we need better gun control" bandwagon. Sure, you can't exactly compare a country like South Africa to America, but right now it's the best example i could think of off the top of my head.

Shootings are becoming like a weekly thing now, it seems. It's [bleep]ing terrifying. What the hell is the world coming to.
  20. Don't they have like Jazz/Piano bars in your area?
  21. Depending on the situation/occasion/venue, yeah.

First day since i started working there that i stayed a full 8 hours. I don't know how people do 8 hours behind a desk 5 days a week. It would be okay if i was busy the whole time, but at least 3 or 4 hours a day i sit there and do nothing. Moved into my own "office" today as well. Pretty much no bigger than a shoe-box and the view ain't that great either. Has my name on the door though, so that's pretty cool. Also getting business cards in a week, so that's exciting. Had to go buy some proper work attire as well today. I usually just wore whatever i felt like, to work and then i'd wear a suit whenever we had meetings with clients. But seeing as i'm in a managerial position now, i figured i should dress the part. Bought a few new Armani suits and shirts. Still need to get shoes though. Rip 1 months salary in about 2 hours.
  23. You probably gave him a good idea for one of his next stories. We'll read about it in a few weeks when he thinks we forgot about it.

Got a promotion today. Was really unexpected. My salary took a 30% rise in all. Includes stuff like house, car, phone, and living allowances though. But still, 30% is huge. I'm leaving work in an hour or so and then i'm going to start shopping for a new car. Not 100% sure on what i want to get yet but i've been thinking Mercedes or BMW for a long time now. I've heard there are some cheaper Maserati's that i might be able to buy, but i'll have to wait and see. Only downside of this promotion is that my work hours increased to a full 40 hours a week and i can no longer just "take the day off" whenever i feel like it. But hey... sacrifices are to be made sometimes.

Tyler, you hit the nail right on the head. In South Africa at the moment, i know of a lot of people who want to leave. They're white, male or female doesn't matter, but they're unable to find a job. Because of BEE/AA it's near impossible for any white individual to find a job. Heck, even job advertisements now specify that they're only looking for black/brown/colored. As a result, so many young white people, fresh out of Uni, don;t have jobs and probably won't find one any time soon. And the jobs they do find are extremely low payed. But as you said, packing up and moving to a different country isn't as easy as it sounds. Maybe people (perhaps people like Muggi) choose to be ignorant of these things because they choose to live selfishly. Only caring for themselves and their own well being. Not caring if his neighbor suffers or starves. Personally i can't live like that. Even though i don't live in South Africa anymore i still take the time to vote and keep up to date with the politics. I'll do whatever i can, from here, to help out the people who aren't in such a fortunate position as i was/am. And as a rational, civil being, i feel that is the duty of every citizen of their respective countries.
