Actually quite a bit of them do spend their time messing around and having fun. They tend to play rather on and off though, and you wouldn't see them at the "efficient" spots all that often - they either don't like it or don't meet requirements to get in. I don't get the feeling that the average low/med level RuneScape players (not that there are that many of them at this stage) are tripping over each other to max.

Me trying to use a fire after Clawdia:

They don't have to make it easier to mine, do they? For example if the current mean time to mine runite is 30 seconds at level 85, make it 1 minute at level 50 and scale down to that. If I'm not mistaken, even copper and tin (level 1) take longer to mine than one-hitting iron (level 15) when you are a high mining level. So it should be possible...

Maybe a T-storm or simply heat knocked out a cable somewhere? :S

As I see it, there are 4 cases. No authenticator, no waiting period - can be hijacked and ruined - this is bad. No authenticator, with waiting period - even if an account is hijacked, the original owner has 7 days to get it back - this is "okay." With authenticator, no waiting period - hard to hack through authenticator - this is "okay." With authenticator and with waiting period - unnecessary 7 days as the account should be secure anwyay.With Jagex's current setup, you hit either 2 or 3, which are both acceptable scenarios, though personally I'd prefer having 4 as a (permanent) option if I were in that situation.

Teletabs are another good option, although some of them are tied to quest requirements. (Also, there are no lodestones on OSRS, as far as I know.)
