Tuska Falls | Quick Lodestone Teleports

Recommended Posts

Tuska has been laid low by the mighty Godless, and she's made a heck of a dent.

______________________________

Courtesy of RuneLabs and F D C's original idea, you can now use your vis wax to charge up quick lodestone teleports.

Last – but not least – the Ninjas have given you two new Grand Exchange slots – one for everyone, and one for members.

Read on for further details!

Tuska Falls

______________________________

After a month-long battle, Tuska's reign of galactic terror has been brought to an end by Gielinor's Godless. She's careened through the planet's atmosphere, and crashed to a lifeless halt.

You can still access the Tuska D&D by clicking the magical barrier near to Wizard Chambers, and purchase the Tuska World Event rewards – albeit at an increased points cost – from Chambers himself.

Note that the previous World Event armour sets are no longer available from the Tuska rewards shop.

If you'd like to rewatch the cutscene that plays on first log-in after today's update, you can do so by talking to Chambers.

But this is much more than a monument to Gielinor's victory over the beast goddess. From next week, the portal on Tuska's back will open, giving you access to a strange new world.

Get ready to venture to Mazcab – home to the goebies, and to RuneScape's all-new Raids!

Quick Lodestone Teleports | RuneLabs

______________________________

An awesome RuneLabs idea from F D C comes to fruition today, as we bring you quick lodestone teleports.

Using charges, your lodestone teleports can be made as quick as a location-specific Magic-skill teleport.

Convert your vis wax to charges through its conversion interface, at a rate of 1 wax for 10 charges.

Then, you can tick the 'Quick Charges' check box on the lodestone map to automatically use up charges, or manually select when to use them by right-clicking a destination and clicking 'Quick Teleport'.

To use quick lodestone teleports, you'll need to be a member, have unlocked the lodestone in question, and meet Magic level requirements for each:

  • Burthorpe - 5 Magic
  • Ashdale - 5 Magic
  • Taverley -10 Magic
  • Lumbridge - 10 Magic
  • Al Kharid - 15 Magic
  • Varrock - 15 Magic
  • Draynor Village - 20 Magic
  • Port Sarim - 25 Magic
  • Catherby - 30 Magic
  • Falador - 35 Magic
  • Edgeville - 40 Magic
  • Eagle's Peak - 45 Magic
  • Canifis - 50 Magic
  • Karamja - 50 Magic
  • Seer's Village - 55 Magic
  • Ardougne - 60 Magic
  • Yanille - 65 Magic
  • Oo'glog - 65 Magic
  • Rellekka - 70 Magic
  • Lunar - 75 Magic
  • Tirannwn - 75 Magic
  • Bandit Camp - 80 Magic
  • Wilderness - 85 Magic
  • Prifddinas - 90 Magic

Don't forget to check out RuneLabs, if you haven't recently, and submit your ideas for story questions to be answered in a medium-sized quest.

Have Fun!

No sign of her corpse anywhere, even though I got a message saying her corpse crashed south of Wizard's tower. No destruction or anything either.

EDIT: Apparently it's west of the desert, and not even damn close to the Wizards tower.

I'm having a strong dislike for the new GE user interfaces, showing rounded prices instead of exact in our offer summary, the fact that the extra 2 slots for P2P are not aligned as blocks (why not align them right and then put the item loan box shaded out when not applicable?), etc...

+1 for making the beach ball F2P. It almost makes up for throwing Tuska in a members-only area now.

"Mr Ex now offers players an option to never remove Ironman mode."

Nice, wondering why they didn't add that option in the beginning though.

"Players now need to wait 7 days to remove Ironman mode, in case a player has been hijacked. This can be bypassed by registering an authenticator to the account."

So now you hijack the account, register an authenticator and remove Ironman?

I would assume the steps are as follows: register authenticator, wait an initial 7 days after registering it, then you can remove ironman mode whenever you wish. At least that is what would make sense.

That's a legitimate concern, but I presume that the use case here is that an account would already have an authenticator code on their account so that they don't have to encounter this scenario.  I mean, the means to secure one's account are there and aren't too hard to implement; why take your chances with it?

I wouldn't be surprised if they had an idea of what would happen for each outcome but only animated the one winner.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how Tuska's dying flight path makes absolutely no sense.

Shot 1 - Coming from the East side of Fally over the park heading Mostly west and a little north judging by rock fall.

Shot 2 - Flying SE-ish over northern Lumby region near the hops plot so low that it she is almost hitting stuff.

Shot 3 - Flying due south over the wizarsds tower, now once again quite high up.

Also I love the high quality 'swim' ripples on the desert shore used to reach her - the ones that are like 50% rippling over solid land.

Edit: Like seriously I mapped her flight route

Purple Arrow - where the little boy in falador looks and sees her coming head on

Blue Arrow - Where she flies over the park by the way camera pans and rocks fall

Green Arrow - Where she is immediately flying over in the next shot, low enough to be very near buildings

Yellow Arrow - where she is immediately flying over in the next shot now high enough to miss wizards tower

Red - The route she must've flown between shots.

Well, she didn't turn to solid stone, so its hard to know exactly when she died (if she's not still alive), so its possible that being punched like that didn't kill her but wounded her, so she flew around dazed and injured before crashing.

Yeah unlike Guthix, V or Bandos she didn't turn to stone, but Jagex appears to be adamant that she's dead (lifeless body, corpse crash landing etc). What a shame.

i'm surprised how cheap they made the quick teleports, i think what i bought them yesterday for was about 625gp per teleport, much cheaper than many tabs. Do they work in combat or still need to be out?

Maybe she didn't turn to some because her divine energy and/or anima is still trapped inside her corpse?

Then what's the point in having the 7 days wait period at all?

As I see it, there are 4 cases.

  1. No authenticator, no waiting period - can be hijacked and ruined - this is bad.
  2. No authenticator, with waiting period - even if an account is hijacked, the original owner has 7 days to get it back - this is "okay."
  3. With authenticator, no waiting period - hard to hack through authenticator - this is "okay."
  4. With authenticator and with waiting period - unnecessary 7 days as the account should be secure anwyay.

With Jagex's current setup, you hit either 2 or 3, which are both acceptable scenarios, though personally I'd prefer having 4 as a (permanent) option if I were in that situation.

For normal accounts there are still a few in existence with additional security to their account.

One well known case is Zezima's account. He has a special phone number in case of being hacked to resecure his account.

Some accounts have grandfathered security. These have the old JAG security still active on their account. I believe that these accounts with the addition of Authenticator on top of it, would be the most secure accounts that are around. To hack these accounts, one needs to breach password, a series of questions and a random every changing string of numbers.

I wonder why Jagex didn't keep JAG and added Authenticator to work alongside it.

Maybe not. If you destroyed her brain, but the energy is still in there is she still alive? Maybe she's brain dead? Maybe she's dead, but because the energy didn't go anywhere the host didn't become stone.

Or perhaps we should remember that Jagex and consistency go together like a balloon and a handful of tacks?

They can't kill her, otherwise the portal will stop working (unless they "reconnect" it with the Anima Mundi of Gielinor).
