Grandma, a word of advice. (or perhaps a few). Using a photo in landscape sig isn't adviced. Don't do fading to white on the boarder since it won't fade to background...it will fade to white and look real bad.

Brush a rectangle with the desired color....experiment with the size to see how it affects the out come (don't fill it, or it will look monotonic and too intense). Do mezzotinto-small dots. Do motion blur in the way the rectangle is thinner. Make a recatangular selection bigger than the colored one (experiment....) and use polar coordinates with rectangle to polar... It can create a nice eye effect...trust me :wink:

which can be seen... :roll: Most of the transparent stuff aren't however made with layer opacity. Usually theres just something partially transparent on a layer. And if you mean how to make signatures with transparence the answer is .png format. However windows versions of Inter Explorer suck at reading the format and lose the transparency. (and a majority of the board users are PCists...am I the only macist here?!? :roll: )

Usually I would go for DH's style. This time it's just too busy and the light effect lacks contrast. As Royal...wow...definately one of the best I've seen from you. Vote....Royal.

Well.. Photoshop IS a better program in the end and thus is the choice of professionals.

Well...first of all that does not qualify as a pixel signature. Drawn in the style of y0ur_m0ther, but it doesn't come close to the quality of his creations. If you are using a mouse to draw, I suggest you go and buy a wacom tablet :wink:
