So by the same logic would Latinos in America be considered Native American, Caucasian or mixed? Proper Latinos are all Caucasians - they are essentially Spanish and Portugese diaspora (and German in places like Argentino). All Filipinos are East Asian. By Indigenous Americans, I am referring to the true native tribes of the Americas. Yup - only 3 questions allowed. But people I suppose people can display that anyway on their profile should they wish.

But if 2 million of 6 million people in a country are migrant workers from Egypt, and the same country has Africa's highest HDI, and once had a GDP per capita of 104% of the USA (brought down by sanctions and corruption), I think you can make a pretty safe assumption that said country has at least something going for it.

Strange, tml, that everything you say seems to: a) concur exactly with the rebel arguments and statements, and b) contradict what every other Libyan I've spoken to has told me. If all of these things you say are true, then please explain to me: -why, before NATO bombings started, Qaddafi went around Tripoli in an open top vehicle, surrounded by crowds of people, and yet none of them so much as shouted something negative, let alone attacked him, which I would expect if he was as unpopular there as you say -how it is that Libya has suddenly abandoned all its tribal ties in the past few months, as if by magic, and totally revolutionised itself -why this civil war, if it is supported by all these tribes and the people of Libya and has NATO air support, cannot seem to beat a Qaddafi force of no more than 20,000 men -how Qaddafi is keeping all these towns under his control, and fighting a war at the same time, all with just 20,000 troops or less I personally think it's time Qaddafi left. But I think that you are trying to make the support for the rebels seem greater than it is. The fact you're posting on TIF makes me believe you're almost certainly not currently living in Libya. Reports from Libya today show - as fact - that the support for the rebels is not on the same scale as Egypt, for example, in which millions protested in Cairo, Alexandria, and across the country. The scale of protests in Libya was far smaller, and the scale of the fighting far smaller.

If it's alright with you, you could always PM me your religion and I can tell you if it fits into any of the categories. I would edit the poll, but all 20 slots are full for religion. Caucasian.

Census 2.0
Me too. I generally assume white (because of the US/Eurocentricity of the game's audience), heterosexual (because 90% of people in the world are) and atheist (because RS is generally played by 'that' generation). Looks like I was pretty close.

Census 2.0
I've remade the thread so that it's not public. I realise that you cannot reverse a public poll, but everything else can be, so if any other rules are broken, please tell me before locking so that I don't have to remake this a third time. This poll was made simply out of general interest as to the demographics of Tip.It users and so on. Please be honest in your voting. It seems that questions get repeated a lot on here, so I've put in a FAQs section for all you confused people. FAQs: Q: I am Hispanic/Latino, what race am I? A: Caucasian Q: Why haven't you put agnostic down as a religion? A: The religion question is already full, and because agnosticism is not a set of beliefs per se, I figured people who are agnostic could either choose "Other" or leave the question Q: I am a Mestizo, what race am I? A: Mixed, not Other Q: I am an Atheist, does that also make me a Buddhist? A: No, it makes you an Atheist

What Loyalty Rewards Say to Me
Playing dumb now I see. Very cool. I would suggest you head on over to Zybez. Your hatred for Jagex and your naivety will both work to your benefit there. And 'Account' was the correct and appropriate word to use. Well done. Look, Napoleon, look at the words I wrote: "to many people". Then let's look at what you said If you can't see the difference, then it's certainly not a good reason to launch into vitriolic and personal attacks against me.

Census
Just a method of determining the general makeup of Tip.It users. Please excuse me if something like this already exists, or if it breaks any rules. Try to be as honest as possible. Though I accept diversity and whatever else, I - like most - would be sceptical if one user put themselves down as a "homosexual Persian Shintoist". This is not something I or anyone else is going to judge you for, it's just something that may be interesting. If you feel something needs to be added to the poll, please do tell me.

Disagree. Platonic friends would be better, that's less likely to crash and burn so even if he becomes dependent on them, he'll be fine. Brilliant post

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Relatively affluent people (usually women in my experience) that don't stop moaning about how crap their life is. I want to punch them in their self-pitying faces.

What Loyalty Rewards Say to Me
By no means do I hate RS. I played RS for 5 1/2 years and levelled cooking to 99 on one acc. But in the end, I just thought: why am I still clicking on stuff? This isn't interesting anymore, and I've far better ways of spending my time and better games to play. I've nothing against it, but I just got bored with the repetitive, slow, jerky gameplay. I may decide to do back, who knows. As for your first line: never said they "account for nothing" (should be "count for nothing"), but I merely pointed out that they are not the only thing that matters; gameplay is, in my mind, far more important. I don't know whether you misinterpreted what I've previously said, or whether you enjoy misconstruing it, but I'd recommend you refrain from doing so as you have.

What book are you currently reading?
Just finished The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid. Best book I've read in a long while; short, concise, innovative, and perhaps the best ending of any book ever (don't read it if you don't like ambiguity).

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
MW 3 looks so similar to 1 and 2 I really can't be bothered to buy it. Especially not with El Shaddai coming out in a few months

What makes someone a "bad person"?
I think it's more a matter of how that person chooses to do more good or bad things. If he favors to do more bad things, then those around him will perceive that person as "bad". The bottom line, it's all based on character. The point I made earlier is that good and bad are such vague, elastic terms that they can never really apply to someone or to someone's actions. Something you consider 'bad' might not have been a few centuries ago, but neither view is 'right'; instead, these judgements are products of their time and are therefore meaningless.

Your right about that. Sane developers use micro-transactions and have you purchase DLC's as it much simpler to make money that way. But sane developers do not force anyone into buying DLC, and generally make no more than 4 (as a rule of thumb). Jagex, on the other hand, are employing every trick in the book to coerce people into paying for RS, lest they want to miss out on half of the holiday items available and so on. It's shameful. You aren't forced into buying membership. And even if you were its like 5 dollars, the cheapest subscription cost I've seen in the mmo market. I don't think you realize that these 'tricks' are what keep the price cheap. Complain all you like about their behavior but also recognize 5.95 a month is a good deal for all that we get. True, you're not "forced" into buying membership. But the gradual transfer of many aspects of the free game to the members' game is a very sly way of trying to lure free players with the means to pay into doing so. I disagree that these tricks keep the game cheap, and I do not recognise that $5.95 is a good deal. Frankly, I think it's the most Jagex could get away with charging for RS, considering that it plays like a drunk 90s PC RPG made by a blind person. The fact that it's a Java-based MMO does not - in my mind - justify shoddy gameplay mechanics, and neither does the cheapness justify calling adding a few items an "update". At the end of the day, the basic tenets of the game grow more and more outmoded by the day, but Jagex decide instead to continue cramming it with "stuff" to divert people, or perhaps just themselves. They are a business, get it? They want you to pay. They would never deny that. 5.95 isn't a good deal? Then tell me what mmo is, please. Dead frontier will run you 8.50 and it's described by its developer (the ONLY developer) as a bare bones game. It also has mictro transactions that let you buy anything. $15 a month + buying the box set for wow. Big suprise here; they also have micro transactions. Guild wars was a good deal but it's mostly dead now. Developers jumped ship to work on guild wars 2. So where is this cheaper-than-5.95-no microtransaction-amazing updates every week- no advertisments - no promotions mmo that puts rs to shame? I'd like to see it. Cause right now it looks like your just a spoiled rs player. Calm down, Nipples; it seems like you took my comments on RS a little personally. Let's take a step back and think for a second: why might I say that RS isn't a good deal? You've successfully regurgitated a lot of facts about various other MMOs, and generously reminded me that Jagex is a business, something I'd otherwise be oblivious to. But in doing so, you've totally missed the point of my previous posts. Price is not the only thing that must be considered when developing a successful game. If it were, then surely Budget Carnival Simulator or whatever those £10 Wii games are called would be at the top of all sales lists. As it happens, they're not, because video games consumers generally don't mind paying as long as the game is good. That is why WoW dominates the MMO market, irrespective of price. The fact that there are no microtransactions and a low price doesn't mean anything to many people. If you're going to pay for an MMO, surely someone is going to opt for a better game if it means shelling out more cash. Advertisements are perhaps the only thing you mentioned that make a difference to most people. As for "amazing updates every week"... I don't think you can categorically say that. Quite a few people disagree with this loyalty scheme, for example. Similarly, if people just wanted a quick, easy to play game, irrespective of the quality of the game, then www.zxspectrum.net would be the most popular gaming site in the world; it offers a myraid of Java-based emulations of ZX Spectrum games from the 80s, all for free. But the fact is that the games are repetitive and dated, and the same applies to RS. It doesn't matter that it's Java based and there are limitations; at the end of the day, people aren't going to In the same way that video games sequels need to be fresh enough to be both justified and commercially successful, so too do MMO developers need to keep their games feeling fresh. Jagex fail in this respect because they just cram RS full of little things like items and quests, but the archaic game mechanics do not change. More successful MMO developers revamp their product every now and again, so as to modernise it. Thus, $5.95, no microtransactions and all the rest count for little if the game itself is a bit shoddy. That's why I wouldn't call RS a "good deal".

What makes someone a "bad person"?
I'd go so far as to say that there is not even any real depth to such perceptions as "good" and "bad" - be it a person or their actions -, simply because they are such vague terms. Interpretations of good and bad vary from person to person, and continually change over time. Something that would have been acceptable just a few centuries ago, e.g. owning slaves, is thought of as 'bad' today not because it categorically is, but because the general consensus in our society says that it is. Good and bad are very loose terms, and there is no such thing as a good or bad person or even a good or bad act.

Hahaha. On paper we may be rich, in reality, something I'm afraid you're far removed from, we're poorer then the Egyptians who have over 15 times our population and little oil. We've always been poorer, since the 70s and 80s, its just never been as apparent as it is today with satellite tv and the Internet. The only ones who ever saw our wealth were African dictators and your own leaders. Try 3000+ in Tripoli alone, with the decisive battle for it yet to begin. Seriously, heartless bastards like you really piss me off. I must point out a number of factual errors in your post, tml. First, if Egypt really is a better place to live than Libya, please explain to me why 1/3 of the Libyan population - aka 2 million people - is made up of migrant workers from Egypt. I don't think it fits with the general pattern of migration for people to migrate somewhere in search of worse living conditions. Second, thought the casualties for the war as a whole far exceed 1,000 - at around 10,000 or so - most of these are what NATO calls "collateral", or civilians who have died in the fighting. Let us not forget that Qaddafi has not been killing civilians in Tripoli - a massive support base for him - but in fact civilian deaths there have been caused by the no-fly zone. I'm not saying Qaddafi hasn't been killing civilians, but so has NATO, and I don't really think either has a moral highground. But certainly your figures for the deaths caused by Qaddafi are totally erroneous.

I must add something that I and the rest of us on this thread seem to have forgotten, something that has a very big influence on what is going on in Libya which makes it very different from Syria, Egypt or Tunisia: tribal hegemony is coming into play. It is no coincidence that, in the Fezzan tribal region from which Qaddafi comes, there have been no uprisings at all. In Tripolitania, a tribal region which differs from Qaddafi's but has beneftief from his rule, opinion is split. In Cyrenaica - the region of Qaddafi's predecessor, King Idris, which has benefited least over the past 41 years - the entire region is under rebel control. I think we all need to be careful when approaching the Libyan Civil War from a western perspective. It is not simply a tribal conflict, but it is not a straightforward fight for democracy. Libyan society is stuck somewhere between the strong tribality of Yemen and more western-style societies, e.g. Egypt, with a large middle class and so on. This conflict has already been plagued by cultural misinterpretations (the "massacre of Benghazi" idea is the biggest example of this), and I think it's very important, for Libya and the west, that these are kept to a minimum. I'm not saying everyone fighting either for or against Qaddafi is doing so for tribal reasons. Equally, I think any reasonable person will have to accept that a significant proportion - maybe 40%, maybe 60% - are. After all, it's no coincidence that the rebel flag just so happens to be the same one as Libya under King Idris. But to present Libya in the polarised way that applies to Tunisia or Egypt is wrong. Arab geopolitics are not so simple.

Taking money out
What if you took out a loan and decided not to pay it back? Or just lost all the money dueling? Then you'd be adding money to the game. After the due date, if you hadn't paid back the money, you could either get a negative money level in your bank (un-movable item), and couldn't get money until that was back to positives, or, it starts to drain experience in your highest leveled skill  Exactly. :^_^: That's the proper way to create a money sink.
