  1. Yeah consoles are a tricky market because they don't like interaction between different user pools and the update process. Though I think most now have a browser built in, like many smart TVS so Runescape could reach them that way, which would probably be the most logical. The only other choice would be a slightly behind update-wise version of the game that had specific servers for each of the consoles it is on. Though this would raise the issue of, for example warbands, when they got fixed people could play the unfixed variant on their consoles for a few weeks more. Plus how would account data cope with different game states like that? Reaching tablets, mobiles and TVs and bypassing consoles seems the most obvious route though.
  2. ^ Note if you have not fiddled with it you automatically sheathe weapons out of combat anyway. Only if you have manually swapped to unsheathed will you leave your weapons in your hands.
  3. I wonder of their plans for html5 and mobile devices is a bit of a move to get new customers. After all browser-based has become saturated but there aren't a whole lot of mmorpg on the mobile market, so that could be a big pay off if done right. Equally if they could find a way to make consoles work it'd likey give a big pay off as again consoles don't really have mmorpg on a large scale.
  4. It's the unchange-able pre-defined keyboard hotkeys that RS uses for the 8 menus: F1 Hero F2 Gear F3 Adventures F4 Powers F5 Social F6 Extras F7 Help Esc Settings
  5. The between week podcasts never amount to much, just fluff or community management stuff normally. It's the fortnightly 'Above the Lore' ones that pack the info in.
  6. Daily Challenges: Adventures Menu (Compass or f3) under 'challeneges' Area Task sets: Heroes Menu (Helm or f1) under 'achievements' Dunno wtf Kaida is trying to tell you but the little flag just opens the 'active task' pane which only shows stuff if you pin it and going anywhere on the compass (adventures menu) is not going to get you to a section in the heroes menu (helm)
  7. I don't think a t90 staff would have a huge impact on the wand and singularity - they are only that high because of lack of supply. Between Vorago being a pita to kill and the other drops being rather poor (not to mention not everyone even gets drops) he just isn't killed that much. All an alternate t90 would do is divert demand and possibly even further diminish supply leaving them to stagnate.
  8. That tiger rider thing is one of my biggest annoyances to date with RS I think. Because it's not a glitch or a bug caused by rogue coding - it is just a lazy direct reuse of a graphic and it's not just lazy, which can be excused with tight dev times, it is just wrong. I mean did NO-ONE in dev or QA or website or managment reviews at any point bring up the fact that TIGER riders were using a LION face. It feels like either a catastrophic failure of quality assurance to not notice it or an active choice to use an icon that bears no relation to the unit it denotes.
  9. It is 1k for the WHOLE set. Paws and Claws (Boots and Gloves) Use 100 blood each Femur and Pelt (Legs and Top) Use 200 blood each Skull (Helm and Necklace) uses 400 blood. The outfit (excluding necklace) works like all the other xp outfits - 5% xp boost for the whole thing. The necklace is an extra that offers 1 teleport a day to various obelisks and offers 250(?) doubled charm drops as a one off.
  10. True retconning happens but considering how small the 2 old bits in-game are and how recent the bulk of it is I'd doubt they'd have cause to do much in the way of retconning. After all the only things they have really retconned in a big way historically was the very very very early lore with Sara, Zammy and Guthix as brothers because it came from a time when the game had a much smaller vision; but even then it's not entirely lost after all they have said several times pretty much all of the gods bar Tuska, brassica and skargaroth come from Paul's original notes and they are working within that framework.
  11. Implying the Eastern Lands have no lore yet... Between the long standing knowledge of the Eastern Lands for the bolt salesman and the swordbow being called an eastern weapon AND the entirety of ports being about the Eastern lands, including their upcoming update there's already a fair bit of lore in-game and quite probably a whole lot more in their 'lore bible' behind the scenes. It's certainly not a blank canvas at this point.
  12. Assuming 4 hours to collect 3k tears, that is over 15 years worth of time spent collecting tears for just Sara. mind = blown. If you take the combined totals we are pushing the 30 years mark already, and this isn't even half way in to the event.
  13. My main curiousity about Pop v2: Will tiger riders FINALLY use a tiger image and not a lion/identical to chimera?

Don't forget the Avatar State has it limitations - Aang very clearly showed us that it was not all that easy to access and most times he sued it was unwillingly. Plus they can still be killed and if they are killed in said state it ends the avatar line forever. Equally I do not know how wise it is to make assumptions of 'what each book deals with' based on only one prior series. Aang was the last airbender just reawakening from the ice and his three books were segmented by his learning of water bending, earth bending and fire bending. Plus Korra lives in a whole different world - new cities, new technologies and new philosophies rule the day and there's still plenty she could learn - she's barely mastered air bending and she shows no signs of being able to work with plants, blood, metal or lightning. Not to mention the fact we have seen little of the older characters yet, let along the rest of Aang's children.
  15. I think I remember some of the lore stating that he had the strongest feelings of rebellion and that he was just the catalyst. Many of Zaros followers were getting fed up with his empty promises and that's what was the problem. ^ This pretty much covers the reasons, but regardless of that nothing in the lore actually says Zamorak was trying to become a god through his actions he was merely trying to take down Zaros. So his obtaining of the godly power was pure accident it seems.
  16. As with all sof promos monster killing is if it can drop a spin ticket it can drop the item. Everything with drops outside dg can drop spin tickets. But yeah killing is not a good way to get it, you get maybe 4 drops an hour if your lucky and it is only dropping 1 blood at a time; so unless you have ~250 hours to spare over the weekend...
  17. Made up fact alert! We only know how 2 (3 if Sliske is) attained godhood originally. Guthix got it via stealing Skargaroth's by accident. Zamorak got it by accident when trying to kill Zaros. Sliske got it by accident when killing Zaros. Bandos, Armadyl, Seren, Tuska, Skargaroth, Tumeken, Marimbo, Brassica Prime, Karamjan God, Fremmenik God, etc. we have NO idea how or why they attained godhood. Saradomin we have been told his power comes from the crown, implying that's how he became a god BUT we have no idea how or why he came across the crown. Equally while it is inferred many came to Gielinor seeking artefacts by following Saradomin it is not clear that their purpose was this and it is not true of all of them. Seren came because she liked Guthix/at his request. Skargaroth never came here and we have been told his motives were as a hunter only with Tuska being his ultimate prey. Tuska is a mindless beast with no motives. Bandos is shown to be rather mercenary and quite possibly only came to Gielinor for the battles/due to being hired. All the rest we do not have any idea of exact details of their coming to Gielinor, how they came to be gods or even what exactly they did here prior to the godwars (with the small exceptions of Armadyl obtaining the staff and Zaros being stabbed) and we don't even know what they did in the godwars for like half of them. I agree with your sentiment in many ways about trusting gods with their power, but your fact is incorrect. You mean when Sliske killed Gutihx Whoops, brain fart on the typing there.

  19. Oh YT and your state of the art auto-captioning how I do love you. Any deaf people happening across youtube for the first time must think the net is so much stranger than it actually is.
  20. The only problem is that the people with the knowledge and data to back up their claims are comparatively few compared to the general population. The only thing Runescape players have are their observations, which as has been proven time and again, is often not enough to get an accurate conclusion. To cite just a couple of high-profile examples: "Pkers are the majority of your players you can't go on without us" - Runescape proceeds to lose only a miniority of players and continue on. "Everyone will play Old school because EoC is rubbish and then watch Jagex backpedal" - OSRS launches to lower player figures than the live game that only slip lower over time even when many bots migrate from live game to OSRS (thereby lowering live and bolstering osrs numbers)
  21. Skillception. If this is skillception dungeoneering is like runecapeception.
  22. He doesn't outright say it but the reason is there: I wore the Elder Crown, and thought it granted me the right to rule. In my arrogance, I did not anticipate the Naragi would refuse. He's not outright saying it but he felt he had the right to rule and his entire philosophy always seems to be eliminating those outside his grand design therefore it is implied he started attacking them because they would not follow him and thus were outside of his grand design. Only changing his mind when Tuska and Skargaroth arrived and he sought to kill them to save the Naragi - though this version of events is questionable as it is implied he was not there at the end when Skargaroth crushed Guthix's house/daughter and Guthix ascended. So did he really stay to save them or did he just fight cause he wanted it to be HIS world and once it was mostly ruined he just bailed?
  23. Honestly if any servers are getting removed due to player density the translated servers ought to be the first to go. It's a noble idea about making the game accessible to other nations, but the reality is they probably aren't all that cost effective. The busier ones (French and German in my experience) hover around 100-200 at best. The others rarely breach 100 with the worst (Spanish) often being as low as 20-30. In all honesty I think these servers are kind of a waste of time given the player numbers, especially as they require a whole team to translate everything (in turn slowing down the overall dev process)
  24. As WC farm and hunter are included I'd guess its either: A high end wc spot for bird's nest that produces eggs rings and seeds at least and maybe actually nests Or A low end hunter spot that gives out the feathers from hunter birds Definitely excited for this skill now, it seems well made and knowing they've held stuff back combined with some vague comments like "new ways to get around" and "change game mechanics" just all sounds so good. My intention is to training this to 90+ straight away. I've always trained new skills asap to un-break my 'all stats over x' thing...just so happens last time that I only needed level 60 and now I need 90...
  25. Again it would NOT be rushing, they budget dev time and thus updates for the year in advanced - just because larger updates means a series of smaller ones, like quests, may end up bunched up more than normally does not mean said quests are 'rushed' or have any less dev budget than was originally planned. Yes we generally do not know exact plans, but earlier this year we were specifically told there would be a 'normal quest load' for the year but most were late in the year due to rs3, which directly tells us we should expect to hit the usual 10+ ballpark. Plus the latest QA hint, as mentioned, specifically hints 4 separate quests due this year. So it's not like a fumble in the dark of what their plans are we have been told to expect a normal amount of quests for the year as a whole and with only ~6 needed to reach that threshold we specifically know of 4 that are coming - 2 in quite some detail.
