30-4-2012 The RuneSpan
What's that? They FPF points were 'too low' apprently so they re-nerfed it to up payout by 10% Aka it was popular, but people were getting xp so we nerfed it. Then it was dead, so we had a bunch of board meetings and nudged the rewards back up a bit to try and make it come back to life.

I've managed about 50k in the 2hour-ish it's been out and thats with a lot of faffing and foruming etc. So pretty decent so far it would seem.

I'm curious as to what 'improvement' the wicked cape, top and legs offer. Also the 2 staves sound like they may be pretty handy, depending on stats, particularly for pvp. Also wtf does 'Esteem' do there's some vague reference to logos or something and a mentioned tht u need esteem 1 for trimmed cape, but I fail to see any boons to it.

Best xp seems like it may come from cmaping good spawn points, then grabbing any nodes tht pop up. Like the 1 island in top floor with 2 soul esswraiths

My main gripe so far is that you cannot enter directly to the top floor and to get the neccessary runes to reach the ladder u have to go all over the sodding place

Possible Glitch?
If it let you put it in, but you can't get it out it is quite obviously a glitch; so you should submit a bug report. In terms of 'help' there's naff all we can do; if you're lucky you'll be able to get it back from the rack when the bug is fixed. Realistically that hood is gone never to see the light of day again.

The whole low FPS thing...
Runescape runs like crap on my desktop atm. I got ATI Raedon HD 5700 series with all the correct drivers with an AMD phenom II X6 1090T 3.2 GHz processor and 8gb with all the correct drivers installed and what not. My ageing macbook with much low specs on the other hand runs it just fine. The truth it is a FACT, confirmed by the engine teams working on fixing it, that computer specs have nothing to do with the FPS issues and your assumptions make you look very ignorant and know-it-all. Your attitude just makes me think of stupid techs-elitists who think they know better than everyone else while showing off the fact they are utterly ignorant to the issue. The ignorance in this case being the fact it is confirmed by the devs themselves that the FPS issue is not spec related. Heck even factor in basic knowledge on runescape requirements and you don;t even really need anything in the way of a decent setup to run at high FPS if this issue did not exist. You could probably run RS at full pelt (sans a few things like particles) with 30 FPS on some 10 year old, windows xp piece of junk with the wrong drivers installed if this FPS issue was non-existent.

Future Update Discussions
Later in the thread Mod Easty said aiming for around 2pm

The whole low FPS thing...
The level is 'tech-literacy' is irrelevant, seeing as it is a 100% confirmed fact that the FPS issues stemming from the bot nuke have no correlation to low or high spec systems. Some people with archaic laptops are still running fine while super gaming rigs costing thousands are not. Some people with average systems are getting bad FPS, some are not. The fact you make comments trying to accuse it on poor system specs and insist on chasing down detailed specs just highlights the fact you are a bit of a tech 'know-it-all' ignorantly blundering in to a debate insisting that you are right despite the fact there is months of evidence to the contrary; the kind of person who would 'fix' a computer problem that if it made something else go wrong you would blame the system or the user opposed to your bodged fix that wasn't well thought out and did not account for certain details.

See the Future...
I think the backfire here is what the teaser was for. The falling rocks and strange power we had no idea what they were for, even after relevant BTS came out we were still in the dark largely until the update occurred. Whilst everyone, mostly, got to see this if they wanted too it felt like a let down as its for an update due next week; that we already know a lot about due to BTS, dev blog & 9+ teaser pics already released.

An alert when someone quotes you
Ah I got sniped on saying it's there! But yup it exists in settings.

The whole low FPS thing...
A lot has been done, it's not just ready yet for release so you don't see it. You are right, he seems to spend all of his time in game. Actually it's just his lunch breaks and after the workday. You seem to think of him as a robot, he is not, he is a human too. He does not work 24/7. Give him a break and don't blame all of runescape's problems on a junior game engine developer. One must remember Jmod accounts can only be accessed while at Jagex HQ. So whenever Mod Jacmob appears standing around in-game he is at the office, which does kind of put an extra factor on to the 'not working 24/7' 'time off' factors. He is choosing to spend his time at the office to stand around on his jmod account to milk the e-fame as Toad mentioned. While agree he is doing his job, it is clearly he is playing up the e-fame as well.

The whole low FPS thing...
Tbf 10-15 FPS is bearable even if not ideal, though of course any places where it then drops further are unplayable. Some people have machines that play at that kinda FPS regardless of issues from bot nuke v1. The real issue is those stuck at sub 10 FPS.

Quest Rewards
While it certainly needs to be mentioned somewhere on the site, I would question whether it is necessary to put it in every single quest guide (opposed to a general statement in the Squeal of Fortune guide or something) seeing as it is a universal thing.

The whole low FPS thing...
I'm just going off the fact they said 'we are talking weeks rather than months' and most people I know, assuming the basic 4 week = 1 month rough guide, would only use weeks measurements for <2 months so 7 weeks comes from that.

See the Future...
It's a possibility, but not something Jagex has 'wanted for ages'; the most recent Content team QA they were mentioned and the answer was basically ' we are not opposed to the idea and if enough people ask we'll probably do it'
-
The whole low FPS thing...
Yeah the engine QA covered it pretty well. The obfuscation of the first bot nuke caused the issues; they have over the past months been trying to weed out the worst offenders that cause FPS issues across the board, but at the same time keeping the cluster flutter doing it's job because the bot issue was far greater than the relatively small number facing FPS issues. They have released a few patches that have tried to fix it and for a good 50% or so with FPS issues it has been improved or fixed by these, but the final solution that will/should fix it all is part of the Optimus botnuke 2 which is coming soon (FAQ said in one answer it was weeks rather than months time frame they think, so I'd assume 7 weeks max). And as pointed out having a no update month to 'focus on it' wouldn't really achieve much since most game updates are pretty much 90-100% content team (who lack the skills to do the engine) while most of the engine team's time is spent on these issues anyway. Even if they did do a no update month it'd only free up a tiny amount of extra time for the engine team, whilst leaving the content, graphics, audio and translator teams sitting around doing nothing so it's not really worth it.

See the Future...
Quoting this now because you always say what the update will be and, as usual, are wrong. How 'bout those mini Grand Exchanges then... I never said that's what it'd be lol, besides, I hardly play any more and have no idea what's going on in the realm of RuneScape any more. It'll just be a It will just be a It will just be a That's exactly what you said, it's there in black and white for all to see.

Dagon hai Robes.
Well the finale of hunt for surok is killing bork, so yes you have to do that.

See the Future...
Shame you missed the best part, IMO, which was the wizards first appearing and forming the rift thingie.
-
See the Future...
Because that ruins the hype and the mystery and the exclusivity. Repeating them would've been like having the strange power go off once an hour for 2 days or the citadel rocks falling every couple of hours for the 2 weeks. It'd go from being a event where you were there or you missed it to a meh it's that animation again.
-
See the Future...
It isn't the actual update, so I wasn't wrong about there not being an update.

decorated mining urns in lrc with lava titan (no juju potions)
Just going out on a limb but I would assume by 'banking' they are referring to re-loading with urns. Eg a task that you cannot do at the deposit box bank of the lrc.
