  1. I don't mean to rain on the parade here, but between the nerf and the un-nerf, my XP rate actually increased. I believe the nerf was implemented due to the fact that nodes spawning everywhere looked ridiculous, not because they realized the XP was too high. For if it were the latter, where are they now? Nodes being everywhere and xp being higher go hand in hand, to suggest otherwise is kinda of ludicrous. It's common sense that as highest xp comes from nodes when you have like 5 of the best nodes on a single island pretty much permanently it is creating higher xp. It most certainly lowered xp rates as whilst there are still good nodes to go too 80% of the time you actually do have to move between locations (even in a small radius) to get to them. For the random event thing: I've not lost my runes ever going into a random event and it sounds kinda silly to suggest they would make that happen. Particularly in the top floor losing all your runes would royally screw you over. Every island does have monsters to ensure you can use at least 1 path off of it, but it's not exactly easy on the top floor to re-gain a good spread of runes unless you are lucky with nodes because other than near the ladder there aren't all that many esslings about; in fact the other day I ran out of water runes and had to travel and went off to try and seek some out (seeing as the only water essling I knew of was across the jump needing water runes from my camp spot) and ended up teleing out cause I got half way around the area and was running out of routes to take due to rune shortages and not particularly useful monsters about to aid my travel.
  2. As of the Node update, it is afkable. As afkable as ivy, if not more. Tbh it is rather luck of the draw. I'd say it's less afkable than Ivy because usually the nodes run out faster than ivy does, with some exceptions that do last longer. But still you need to look more often to avoid doing nothing, even if sometime it will be premature.
  3. I doubt she'll summon anything at all personally since they said not an endurance fight more like Nomad with physically dodging attacks. '"And with something that massive a swinging tail might as well be considered a ranged attack if it comes from a distance." - Regardless of how far away the tail is, if the tail itself is physically hitting you it is melee. Melee = stuff physically connected to the attacker hitting you. Ranged = physical objects flung at you. Sure the tail may be long enough to reach over while it's base is far away, but if the tail itself is reaching you to hit you it is gonna be a melee attack, that just simply what the words mean.
  4. FPS on my mac seems to be worse now ='[ But then it could just be it needs a restart cause it's being sluggish in general today.
  5. The one quote I have seen mentioning an 'endurance fight' specifically said it was NOT one. Also a tail lash would not be a ranged attack because lashing something is a melee move. Maybe firing tail barbs though.
  6. A well-known pirate-themed site that only technically doesn't distribute, store, or pirate content. Everything after the 'but' in the first sentence seems to be the kind of legal loophole that people in General Discussion attacked Jagex for last month. I'd also assume that hosting those links does count as distribution. It's not really like parental controls at all. Parental controls are "This content is blocked because it may scar you for life". This is "This content is blocked because it violates local and international laws". One difference is that it benefits people that don't want to pay for their entertainment, which is why the entertainment industry is trying so hard to stop it. It's all well and good to justify it by citing corporate greed (Though it does completely dodge the issue. So does the rest of this sentence), but it doesn't seem like it would be a problem if not for personal greed/entitlement. It is a murky area, but it is a valid reason based on the definitions of the terms why this action is censorship and not enforcing copyright laws because of what the action is doing. The fact it is supposed to be a hindrance to pirating (and thus stopping people getting to the content) is just a by-product of the censorship. It's kinda of like making a meringue; the main thing you are doing is making the meringue (censoring) but in doing so you end up with a bowl of egg yolks (the 'enforced' copyright laws).
  7. But Runescape isn't written in Java, it's written in Runescript that is a custom language running in a Java framework, so it may not work that way.
  8. Yeah the number of times they give no explanation of how a puzzle is meant to be solved and after mind-bending over it for an age to suss it out you find out some dingbat made the image up wrong so you got the wrong answer. You can stack on that having to spend too much time (~48+ hours, a.k.a. "an age") versus what would be reasonable for each clue (~3 hours max), which causes some people to go nuts and waste time in their lives that should have been spent elsewhere. Insanity should not result from the release of a CCF, and I'm hoping that Jagex made their clues anti-insanity-causing this time around. :geek: ~D. V. "Victim speaking from experience..." Devnull Thankfully the clues never drove me that far, but then I am a bit of a whizz when it comes to puzzles (mostly) only one that took me anywhere near that long was MEP2 when I did it pre-guide and that did include a fair bit of teleport out for more foods time. Plus of course the original MEP2 interfaces were shockingly bad and going in to it blind it was pure luck of the draw whether you stumbled across the various fixed elements, the first door using the green crystal took me five minutes after I found it, took me like 2 or 3 hours prior to finding it trying to make it work. But this is straying off-topic! In CCF there's only been 1 puzzle that I didn't manage to solve myself fairly speedily.
  9. I still don't see dragon armour as being 'dragon-related' just because of the word dragon after all most of it comes from anything but dragons, but the other two are fair points; though I still doubt it to be a dragon c-bow.
  10. dragon c'bow! You could be onto something :) I highly doubt it. 1) Dragon-orientated means related too fighting dragons or made from dragons. Dragon armour doesn't really fit this category, things like d-hides and visages do. 2) Why specifically name Dragon kiteshield and not c-bow? Especially seeing how c-bow is more asked fro than kite these days. 3) A few Jmods have said repeatedly, and recently, we probably won't see d c-bow for a very longtime, if ever, because chaotic is essentially the stats etc dragon would've been.
  11. Enforcing copyright laws -> Censorship? I've wondered about that one every time it's come up on one of these threads. The issue is HOW they do it. Enforcing copyright laws would be prosecuting the people who make and release the pirated content. This is censorship as it is censoring an essentially random site. Certainly pirate bay hosts mirrorlinks to torrent files, but they do not actually distribute, pirate or store any pirated content. With mirrorlinks not even the torrent file has any info in it beyond a link to a tracker to gather data from peers and seeds. A move like this does nothing to directly enforce copyright laws because its not hindering or hurting the pirates themselves, it just applies censorship to try and separate users from objectionable content in the same way parental controls do on a computer.
  12. Really? I can't say I've ever seen one correlating these speicifc personality types to gameplay styles and I basically live on these forums since a good 75% of my degree requires me to be at my laptop to work.
  13. Music piracy is pointless to fight, the same can be said of TV piracy. Movies I can see the issue with cause they do need to make money, but then even so it's not like movies aren't doing well in cinemas and DVD sales. Music is pointless because record labels and artists make sod all off the actual sales of the song. The money is all in merchandise and touring. One good arena tour can make more in like one show than a number one album can in two years. Plus people pirate music, like it then go to the shows anyway and quite possibly buy the new albums etc. Plenty of people I know just pirate one or two albums to see if the band is any good then go buy if they like. Tv piracy utterly pointless to legislate against. For one thing we can record any TV we like anyway with DVR's etc. 2nd part of TV piracy bs is simple: date staggering. Every single person I know of who gets pirate TV gets it because the shows we watch are US shows and guess what? USA airs them at least a week if not months before we get them and people don't like to wait. The same time lapse issue applies to Movies I even saw them talking about a study recently on the news that showed level of piracy was directly related to staggering of release dates. Movies the USA gets months before the rest of the world get pirated to the moon and back whilst movies launching pretty much simultaneously worldwide.
  14. I was wondering when this was going to make it to TIF. In a perfect world all skills would be valued equally, and I welcome this change which allows Runecrafting to be trained in a greater variety of ways. To call it the worst update ever is absurd hyperbole. People do love a good rant about anything that makes anything remotely easier! Yet compared to some alterations this kinda thing is nothing (Thinking cook-x, fletch-x, smith-x smelt-x). The irony is I'm sure half the people who rant about it being easier and losing respect for the skill if they had been there way back when would've been ranting to the moon and back about how hard cooking, smithing and fletching were; all 3 went from skills that were probably the slowest and hardest to do in game due to clicking amounts to the no big deal buyable 99s you can do in a week or 2 overnight (well smithing is still a little better off due to high costs but still); proud to say I got cooking and fletching to 99 before x came and tbh normal rc was far more painful to do so this is a welcome change! At this place the best rates are still only around 50k xp:hr, so still 260+ hours for 1-99, assuming an average player does around 5 hours a day tops that still 2 whole months. Tbh I find most 'easier' rants are thinly veiled greed since most easier methods are less profitable, after all consider how many rants about this easier profit free rc existing compared to how many rants there were about double speed cballs. Also totally agree about you dismissal of people saying it shouldn't be called runecrafting because you're not making runes because it's quite clear you are making runes. Like you said you still use essence and make it into runes, only alterations are you don't keep the runes and rather than holding ess to an altar stone you hold it to an energy node/monster.
  15. Don't seem worth it to me for the key to open chat; chat box is hardly intrusive to have up in resized/fullscreen especially with transparency and click-through and from screenies etc I can't say I've seen many people who close it. NPC thing I could see maybe, but it seems like a lot of engine work for a very small use; I mean is it *really* that hard to finish the dialogue then reply to w/e chat? Other than a few quest dialogues most chat things only go on for maybe 5 screens max and spamming space you can get through them in seconds. Would be nice I guess, but can't see it becoming a reality cause it's hardly a huge usability gain.
  16. ENFJ I talk in cc/fc/friends chat when I can. Often on fb chat/skype/msn etc at the same time. Don't troll. More interested in having fun (with reasonable xp) than being efficient. But certainly fits me unintentionally manipulating people deffo happens IRL. Global learner, see the big picture certainly fits with how much random rs details I have stored in my head, especially lore and quests. etc.
  17. You don;t remove it, you right click then it has 'upgrade' (might be 'build') and clicking that brings up the usual interface to allow you to build over it with the next bench up.
  18. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be as prolific as it was earlier and those spawn rates were left unfixed from the original node issue and it has been hotfixed? Eg there is a mechanic there it was just overpowered earlier.
  19. That could be. Maybe the intention was to make people choose between good node xp for a bit and the xp/dust gains from the sphere (which I'm assuming are better, I haven't done a sphere yet). Judging by what some people have said it seems to be going a bit too far perhaps on the nodes (possibly same as normal time node issue form original?), but judging by the timings it seems like a possibility for sure.
  20. Maybe there is some sort of intentional mechanic that there is an energy overflow when the runesphere appears/opens or something?
  21. Definitely seems to be the case. The 'active runesphere' thing recently disappeared on my world and nodes do seem to be building up a bit now.
  22. I feel like I'm playing a different game to half you lot. Mine's not gone mental like that and has been consistent since the fix earlier. Perhaps just certain worlds are borked? Or could be tied to population so as peak times are arriving nodes get more prolific?
  23. These nodes keep changing on the same spot to other nodes. They aren't even disappearing. I'm fairly sure this isn't intended. Yes it is. Nodes do not despawn however a new node can spawn over an old one meaning it gets replaced.
  24. They don't seem to be that bad on my world. Sure there's a few clusters around where no players are but they are more intermittent and less in bulk than last night.
  25. CCFs are never mind-twisting, they're just vaguely worded and/or poorly administered so that you think you've got the correct answer, but you don't. It's not like it damages the game or anything to have one though. Yeah the number of times they give no explanation of how a puzzle is meant to be solved and after mind-bending over it for an age to suss it out you find out some dingbat made the image up wrong so you got the wrong answer.
