  1. Arguable. I do believe bot developing is risky business due to getting banned, the very rare successful lawsuit, etc... But I would never say it's entirely wrong. That's just my view, though, and'd be happy to say my reasons. :P. It is entirely wrong in runescape though. In rs specific terms there ARE bot prevention measures in place which means subverting them to develop a bot is very clearly illegal under DMCA.
  2. But that's an old picture, hence the old Karils armour he's wearing, people are talking like the river has to fit into the existing area it doesn't have to fit in with what already exists as that could change too. But things DO have to fit in with what is there now to an extent; admittedly things can shuffle a bit but not to a HUUUUGGGE extreme. Burthorpe has to be by death plateau and the troll lands (and we can see from a media section picture the castle is still in the same place next to the new plateau entrance) Taverly has to be south of Burthorpe with Taverly dungeon entrance and at the foot of white wolf mountain. They need to be in those locations for many quests/lore/spacial things to make sense. Also armour is not a perfect measure of the pictures, what graphics are or are not live in the engine they use at the time of screen shots don't always match update ordering; there's often been old armours near new graphics when the armours got made over before the places. And that wall/house in the background certainly doesn't look like the current wall.
  3. Maybe it'll replace the wall? But that makes no sense since various teaser pictures clearly show the river between burthorpe and taverly. The wall is not in the right place for this.
  4. It doesn't look like a building sit at all to me. Looks like 1 house partly in the fog, then a watermill right by the river; with a lift platform/hoist partially in the fog that would be used to taking grain to the top of the mill to be loaded for grinding; it is the 1 realistic making feature most rs are missing, an external (or sometimes internal) basic pulley lift to take the large and heavy grain supplies to the top where they are put in to be ground and make their way down again.
  5. Flashy bot banning is a bit of a double edged sword imo, it's like the asbo (anti social behaviour order) in british law. On the one hand it shows something is being done; but on the other hand it becomes a badge of honour within certain social groups. The same could apply here, on the one hand it would show something being done, but on the other hand it could cause people to try to trigger it because it looks cool. Though it would be a nice way to recycle old random event NPCs, especially if they do plan to get rid of most of them; like revenge of the tree spirits and rock golems and river trolls heck even tangle vine could be put to use.
  6. If I could afford an arma staff I wouldn't be asking! All my current funds will be sunken in Gano & restocking on brews (since I have like 3 left) & I suck at making money fast and my main aim is to get a firecape before the thzaar makeover just incase it is true the new quest will req it and just incase the graphical rework does nerf things.
  7. I know SOA is the best when you are using the staff to match, but which is better without the staff, in particular looking at doing mage fire cape run. I'm thinking polypore, just because with the reduced cast speed of no armadyl staff SOA and polypore aren't too far apart so the extra inventory space would be a bonus; but not sure so advice?
  8. Considering they said Burthorpe is going to be a bit of a members tutorial and it has a slayer flag I'd say it's quite obviously a giant straw figure/puppet used to teach us about slayer (eg specific items required to kill)
  9. It looks to me like they've added a river to make a more finite border between taverly and burthorpe, certainly looks nice!
  10. Don't be silly. Signs of a bot is having any stats at all high levelled or close to max, along with not talking to random noobs or talking too much. You are also a bot if you have more than 10mil bank or a quest cape or if you gather any sort of resource for yourself.
  11. No point, at runefest they already teasered/mentioned a combat hotbar to which we can assign all sorts of combat related functions with hot key support; including swapping gear, special attacks, food, potions etc. Plus there is not really a huge need to swap attack styles of the fly anyway (aside from the bigger swap of melee>mage>range etc.) as basically everywhere u use x attack type and thats it. (eg you stab dragons, you crush waterfiends and slash or stab basically everything else)
  12. Being insulting and over generalising responses that disagree is not an effective way to argue your case. He never said NOTHING should change, he said (and I some what agree) fire cape is a classic runescape icon and it'd be nice to see it (it being the 1 singular item not ever other thing in-game) remain the same as a reminder of this. The same way the classic cape uses the old old old classic icons in the emote, or many meaningless npcs from old random events still meander about certain areas as a nod to their previous status; or the msot obvious icon of all is that runes have barely changed at all since 2001, they still retain the shape basic shape, colour and icons.
  13. Java most definitely works fine with firefox on windows and mac. Make sure both firefox and java are up-to-date.
  14. Eh... I average no more than 9 herbs per patch, and I'm basing that on 200 seeds. Even with farming juju potions. Seems awfully low, I usually average like 8 a patch without juju; but it has been a while since I've done any bulk herb farming so could be skewed by a few lucky stints.
  15. If memory serves with all that stuff you should be averaging around 12+ herbs a patch, so 60 herbs a run. 35k a herb so that's 2.1m. 300k a seed so that's 1.5m. So that would leave 600k profit a run without accounting for seed returns; which I want to say is like 1 in 10, but random seeds so hard to predict. Lol according to grimy's sheet I'm miles off; oh well!
  16. On another hand, you have to view ads on a paid service. And there's accounting in the fact, as Kimberly mentioned, you pay for Runescape; you get Runescape. You pay for xbox gold you get the opportunity to use xbox gold; you still have to buy the games (some of which require extra subscription charges thou not many) and pay subscription charges for the various services you can use within gold. They are two totally different services, on xbox you are essentially paying for a very small privilege that is still primarily useless without buying extra content/subscriptions, on Runescape you are paying for runescape.
  17. Hard to say cause most use on agility, but I'd assume its equal. Hati paws is equal regardless of skills. Also unless you have 99 agile I'd strongly advise agaisnt using them for wc. Wc is miles faster and much more afk than agility, so the bonus is better spent in the harder skill.
  18. My point is if it makes THAT MUCH of an impact on your finances to shell out $2 more a month (which as people quite rightly pointed out is a lot less than u pay for a coffee or even a sandwich from a cafe) you should probably not being paying for rs in the first place.
  19. For us with 400$ income, 2$ here 2$ there ... 2$ is kind of a lot. Considering that most of the said 400$ are used for things you kind of need like rent, clothings and food .. you aren't left with a lot to spend. If you live off a $400 income I'd question why you have RS membership even before the price increase, heck I'd question why you have the internet and probably some form of cable tv.
  20. Too bad she didn't address my question: Will players paying by membership card that are currently subscribed/subscribed for over 1 year already be given a appropriate discount? She did: The price of cards will increased. Cards are sold by stores at a flat price, there has never been any discount on them. Well, my clan's ended up galvanising around the citadel, it does work as a clan feature, although it does need more functioning things. The Barbecue and the Clan Rings deal out quite a lot of XP, and we're only Tier 6. The Loyalty stuff has grown on me, personally, but I can imagine why people don't like it. It doesn't make any sense lore-wise, though, and that really should be fixed. Totally agree my clan has galvanised around our citadel too; it gives us a sense of achievement and loyalty to think yes we did this together & the clan rings are very nice little boosters; we have many going for 99s who *love* the rings. I know mining rings shaved maybe an hour or 2 off my 99 mining (considering I was already like 94) and FM rings are epic. They do need something more, like the widely suggested game's lobby where we could form teams for various games and jump straight there and maybe make use of the 5 excess skill plot slots at t7 with *something* useful. Or there's the idea of the 'clan bank' thats been floating around for a while; where you can donate items that the whole clan can use (kinda like an extended loan system, eg you can put ur d axe in when out of use then any clan mate can withdraw it for 24 hours at a time etc) Heck even some more cosmetic option would please a good many clans (eg let us put 1 - 2 pets per person in there so you could be a crazy cat lady citadel if you so desired)
  21. I report the level 3's that I see at Daemonheim frequently. They always tele to sorceress garden and have names like "hrdcxfws" I'm not exactly sure if that's true about false positives, either. At dg you can trap the sorcess garden bots. Clan vex under the banker = they [bleep] up banking. So they think they did it then check for full invent and do kinship tele again getting stuck in a loop of tele and trying to bank.
  22. It's right up there in the book of "facts" botters and bot devs say like 1) It's 100% legal 2) Jagex can't ban you for using it. And, my personal favourite 3) Don't worry we will have a working version up again in/by/on x (as seen frequently in October, November, December and January; usually surfacing with 24 hours of the value of x on the previous outting)
  23. The best to use is putting all 3 in the bin and getting polypore or storm of armadyl instead.
  24. Not too fussed by this. With world economics and inflation across the board I'm amazed they wait this long to price up again AND its still like the cheapest MMO out there AND still miles better than many tht charge a lot more.
  25. My last set of rocks I caught 5 falcons, where as I fished 2k monks.
