  1. They fight because it is subjective each side believes they are morally right and the other wrong. If they all believed both sides were morally right they would not fight or if morality was objective there would be no need to fight as one side would be right by all measurable standards and no-one would support the wrong side.
  2. Why not? Because then there would be no need to fight over it and no justification to fight over it. If you thought your view was morally right, but so was the enemies you would have no grounds to justify fighting them.
  3. I'd say waiting is kinda the obvious choice. Even a small shift in tower xp rewards (+ the weapon trade in for xp) will add up over the course of all them bosses, so why do yourself out of xp when you can just hold off for a week or 2?
  4. Moral/Immoral are kinda hard to define because they rely on what good/bad are viewed as, which are both subjective and impossible to define. Eg: Most fanatical religious types (note fanatical, by no means do I mean all religious people) take various things from their holy books as 'immoral' and thus view their actions as moral when they do and picket funerals or hand out flyers that promote homophobia, racism, sexism etc. (Though of course one cannot judge a religion by these small fanatical groups seeing as they overlook many other things their books make immoral and ignore the overriding message of all religions of tolerance and acceptance as it is only their god(s) place to cast judgement.) Eg2: Many murderers will see their actions as morally justified as they are killing 'bad' people or enacting revenge for a wrong doing. Eg3: In a war, like WWI or Vietnam, both armies thinking they are fighting for what is morally right and that the others are wrong. But obviously both sides can't be morally right in what they fight for.
  5. Everyone more than covered it but basically Barrelchest drained you constitution level down to 62, so your max lp became 620. You have to wait for it to restore or restoring it via pots/death to get it back up.
  6. The generally accepted best order is Str>Att>Def Str will raise your DPS the most, which speeds up training. Att raises DPS a bit, but not as much as strength. Def has the least impact to training speeds as it only slightly reduces damage taken, armour has the larger effect. I got 315 from calc: 99 str aggressive style str pot ultimate str prayer rune 2h sword ammy of strength Weapon has a big impact 315 - rune 2h 302 - rune baxe 270 - rune long sword 259 - rune scimmy
  7. Loving these flasks so far. 5k craft xp a day for like 3 mins work with a few hundred k profit? I'll take that!
  8. Alright, maybe they are not hiding it but they are not doing anything to let people know about this either. I would give you a link but this would lead to more hackings, would you seriously want that? The conclusion - it's obvious. Smart people like cocacolabottle do not falll for phishers and keyloggers therefore there is only one option left - recovering. There was a big notice left up about it for a month or two. What more do you expect them to do? It happened like 4 months ago, they can't leave a notice up forever; the vast majority of active accounts saw the notice and dealt with reactivating forum accounts etc within a month or 2.
  9. Wrong. Let me tell you a story tip.it admins try to hide/cover up. Tip.it got hacked. It's databases with ip-s, passwords and emails got leaked all over the internet. Now if your tip.it's password matches your previous RuneScape password, it can easily be used to recover your account. Not a smart thing to tell on public forums as the account creation date is one of the things needed when recovering an account. No. Nobody is trying to hide anything, tip.it did get hacked. After the hack we were all told to change our passwords to all accounts that shared the same password as our TIF account. And way to be dramatic, `leaked all over the internet`, if it has been leaked all over, you should have no problem producing a link. Besides how did you jump to the conclusion that the OP got hacked because TIF got hacked. Yeah no-one is trying to hide anything; after the hacking all forum accounts got 'locked' and required password reset to access and admins reasserted major warnings that you should not use same password for any two things and if your forum password had matched rs or anything else to change them asap. And it certainly did not got leaked all over the internet, yes the hackers got the data and it has been used (people getting junk mail and stuff) but it certainly hasn't shown up on mass 'all over the internet.'
  10. Back in the day my clan used to run 3 schools of events (skill/fun, combat and pk) 2 of each a week and maintained good turn out to all of them; but this was only when we had several hundred members. And it did work well for the whole time it ran, until rwt updates saw everything fizzle away and member numbers etc drop like most clans at the time. Having said that however I think the community has changed and while perhaps not impossible it is certainly not as easy as it once was. For one thing clans seem to be moving away from forums more and more, which makes organising events period more of a challenge let alone diverse events. And players seem more exclusionary today than they used to be, eg there's more people whol ONLY pk or ONLY pvm or ONLY skill rather than players who do a bit of everything.
  11. The wording of the post implies they released 50mil of the 140mil when they posted and 90mil to follow later this month.
  12. This. But I guess this will be my last week with comp cape for the time being. :( It sounded like Kiln cape would be an upgrade to the comp cape? Like spirit cape I think? Hoping to be one of the first for new cape, doubt it though. Jmod quote earlier in this thread clear states kiln cape will be a requirement for comp cape.
  13. Still mentions using a spade/taking a spade to get in (with no mention of toolbelt); but unless I'm much mistaken the new graphics have a small dirt mound thing on top with left-click dig option that works with the toolbelt spade (or a spade in invent) This bit: "In order to access the tombs under the mounds where the brothers reside you must use your spade, or the spade provided on location, to dig while standing atop the mound of the Brother you wish to fight."
  14. These are creatures who are partly molten lava who are themselves made of Obsidian; it's a safe bet their obsidian crafting/smelting skills far exceed what a human could manage, since they could basically handly it in molten form with bare hands and they have some magical affinity going on with it (dead being made into coins, knowledge passed on as they are born with no teaching etc). It's not even like the obsidian weapons we already have are exactly simplistic, obby cape? carefully woven thin sheets of the stuff, the ranging rings? etc.
  15. You still don't seem to understand power training is SUPPOSED to for go EVERYTHING in order to maximise xp:hr. You do not NEED to negate dropping stuff for power trainers, it is a fundamental element of power training that you drop stuff to ensure maximum time spent getting xp. If you want to gather resources for profit it is not power training, it is just training, because stopping to pick stuff up or travelling even a short distance to bank wastes time and lowers xp:hr so is not power training. You can throw the term power training around all you like but for combat its not power training if you pick any drops up, as that lowers xp:hr due to time wasted not inflicting damage and for skilling unless the bank is so close (eg within about 6 sqs) of the training spot that it is actually faster to dump gathered resources than to drop, banking = not power training as you waste time that could be spent gaining xp. Eg LRC, deposit box is right there, maybe 5 - 10 seconds run away but power trainers still drop all their ore/bars because running to it wastes time that would lower xp:hr. The only power training where you can legitimately bank is the iron triangle in dwarf mine, as the resource dungeon deposit box is so close. Power training is entirely defined by the fact you do not waste any time at all doing things that do not gain xp, this is not a problem, it is the nature of choosing to power train. And no matter what analogy you make the fact still stands, deposit boxes in banks have a use in allowing you to by-pass bank pin to make a deposit. It's like a real-life bank, do you go to the counter to pay in some money just because they can do more variety of things that you don't need or do you go to the quick pay-in machine where you can just punch in a few details and stick the money in without queing? By your logic the quicker, simpler service of the pay-in machine is 'useless' because the cashiers at the desk can do the same job, even though it may take longer for them to do so due to queing and having to relay information from you to them to a computer (opposed to direct from your to the machine); which is ridiculous. They serve a narrow, singular function but it is still a useful and time saving function if all you want to do is deposit stuff and have no need to withdraw stuff. Also no ring of kinship does not overpower anything because it still takes time to bank that way; there is a difference between needing the better part of a minute to teleport bank and get back to wherever you were than there is to being able to move a few squares in a matter of seconds to bank something.
  16. Didn't Jagex say at runefest or something they plan to eventually phase randoms out by converting most of them into D&Ds of some kind
  17. I'm surprised how many people are oblivious to the update from like a year ago, that was announced on the front page, that smuggled DG items will destroy themselves when you try to equip or bank them.
  18. All my points make perfect sense. Just because they do not support your idea doesn't invalidate them or make them 'illogical' It'd nuke economy and be overpowered as it makes it too easy to bank, which messes with supply vs demand and xp:hr rates. Also you do not need to be an 'expert' or anything to work out how to effectively use any training spot, anyone can do it when looking at teleport options open to them; especially as ring of kinship (or duel rings) = banking for any travelling task. And yes you can enter your bank pin and yes it doesn't take long; this does not however overwrite the fact deposit boxes in banks DO have a use in allowing you to dump items, when you have no need to withdraw, without entering your bank pin. And there is by no means only one way to train or do things; is there certain ways deemed better by metagamers? Certainly. But that does not force you to do it that way, nothing even forces you to use any of the known good choices for training. You are perfectly entitled to go and mine mithril under the Grand Tree to train mining, or camp unicorns for xp and drops. Nothing is forcing people to play any 1 specific way and it ridiculous to try and argue that anything in-game does this. And finally yes you have to for go resources to power train this is not a 'problem' that needs solving. The entire idea of power training is forgoing everything to maximise xp:hr, collecting resources for profit is not compatible with the nature of power training.
  19. Because it overpowers training possibilities and nukes the economy to have everything and anything useful right beside a bank, even with these random limitations it'd still mess things up unless it was several hours between dispensing stuff to the bank; which then renders them being there kinda pointless as you can barely use em. Besides there's not even a problem with stuff being miles from banks, everything and anything has a way to be used if you care to think it through. And deposit boxes in banks have a use: They do not require pin entry as they are deposit only, which makes life easier for fishers, miners, wcers hunters etc who do not need to get stuff out only drop it off.
  20. Wonder if this affects anything useful in particular. All abyssal monsters are now auto-agressive to all levels. That moment when you sit staring blankly at the screen for 5 minutes and still don't have the faintest idea how someone's post relates to what they quoted in any way shape or form in the known universe.
  21. First step is to clear runescape cache which is found at: C:\.jagex_cache_32 or C:\Windows\.jagex_cache_32 Odds are something has corrupted itself by accident, clearing this will cause you to do a 100% new load of the game (as if you never played before) which will clear any corrupt files.
  22. Oh my god? A generic bird shaped monster looks similar to another generic bird shaped monster? Halt the press! Look I found concept art of all the parents! Oh no wait I just googled 'Hawk art'
  23. Yeah there is a series of 'story' tasks that unlock/appear in a specific order/ You have to kill the troll in the cave which earns baby troll. Then save the woman in the mine. Then kill the troll in the slayer cave. Then the burning house rescue north of summon shop & further north of this Anvil cutscene/attack both unlock. Then the mother and daughter appear a the lake to be saved. Then you can join the order of the talon.
  24. That much is true, but you still don't need mega in-depth rs knowledge to deal with that kind of thing and there's always the ability to pass notification of a possible issue on to someone more qualified to judge it, plus if it was indeed trolling/wrong odds are a report would come through or other users would flag it up as such. Besides having such 'experts' just sounds to me like a road to an officially moderated version of a few months back where certain metagamers flamed the crap out of any advice that was not the absolute 100% metagame perfect route to take. Well perhaps that's a little bit of an extreme extrapolation, but it seems to kinda vibe aimed at, which just seems unnecessary to me.
  25. But WHY do moderators need some indepth rs knowledge at all? The community at large deals with any help or advice needs or debates with its vast collective knowledge. What difference does moderator status make to this ability? Especially seeing as the duties of moderating and game knowledge have no overlap to them at all in terms interaction.
