Double standards
I think women lie about being raped is a bit of a hyperbolic claim; sexual assault maybe but rape? Not so much, I think people just band that word about to make it sound more dramatic. And it's not even exclusively women, loads of people male and female try to lie about it to garner compensation etc. And the whole thing about hitting a woman may be kinda sexist, but it does have a good grounding in reason. Your average man is stronger than your average woman, it's just one of the sex differences men tend to be built more in the upper body while women are more in the lower body (for child bearing etc) which means in the average situation a man hitting a woman will quite probably do serious damage while a woman hitting a man is not likely to do much damage at all. It may be a left over sentiment from patriarchy but it does have so grounding within the average build of the sexes. As for that story, no I highly doubt the man would've been killed if the sex's were reversed. People find it amusing and positive BECAUSE the man thought he could overpower the weak women and rob her and she got the upperhand; plus the fact it's not entirely true so it's kinda ok to laugh about it. Basically all in all I think this topic is a load of hot air with little meaning or grounding in reality.

You are still trying to argue something no-one really disagreed with for no apparent reason. Other than 1 person who said it should be way high and 1 that didn't care people have only said comp cape should be equal to or marginally better than the combined stats of the best capes in-game and include any effects those cape might have. The only thing people DID disagree with was the idea that any cape should have better stats than comp cape.

It's only biased based off what capes we have; it does include all the benefits of all the capes that are acquired en-route to it. It has the teleports from ardy cape and enchanted bonesack and the ardy cape thieving boons etc.

The jist of these past many post seems to be: Dire_Wolf: HAHAHAHA New cape that is better str than comp cape screw you skillers. Others: Comp cape should be adjusted to match or slightly better the new fire cape's str bonus. Dire_Wolf: No it's not fair people who limit themselves to combat only should have the best ever cape; despite the fact people with comp cape did more work AND maxed combat. Others: Nah comp cape should equal or better as its the end game best of the best. Dire_Wolf: That's all I was saying! tl;dr: Dire_Wolf went off on a pointless tangent fighting an argument that only existed in his head as no-one actually said comp cape should be miles better.

Someone who has completed the game can have a full fledge Completionist cape with stats, emotes, the cape etc. While a player who has maxed combat skills and done the combat minigames that are required should have a Comp cape with the stats but not emote, and other rewards. For example the cape that Combat players should have would not have the emote or look the same as Comp cape. It could just be a plain old cape with same stats as Comp cape. Which no-one disagreed with for the most part. People have only said (mostly) that comp cape states should be EQUAL too or marginally better than the best alternatives; the same as it is atm. Besides they shouldn't get a cape that good for just doing caves, comp cape has bonuses derived from other things like the prayer bonus is related to the best prayer cape in game (soulwars) and the str bonus is related to the best str cape (fire cape) the magic and ranged are tied to the best of that (ava's alerter and ardounge 3/4) melee are tied to the best for them (skill cape (t))

So you are disagreeing with your own logic? Someone who has maxed combat (and a bunch of other stuff) should not be given an appropriate award in the form of the best item for an equipment slot that embodies a number of other benefits tied to the other non-combat achievements?

And maxing runecrafting, woodcutting, smithing, completing all the quests, getting all the songs et cetera AND maxing out combat doesn't qualify as harder work than that? Keep on being jelly. I am not jelous. I just think Jagex could rewarded Completionist cape players in a other way. For example they could have made Comp cape give you a teleport that sends you to a Grand Exchange dimension that has many skilling spots (not Rocktails etc), Decent banking areas etc. And also another idea is allowing Comp players to have a statue of their avatar in their Poh. ^the above suggestion are few of MANY ways to reward Comp players. There is other ways than reward them with Combat stats. But like i have experienced there are players like you who get "butfrustrated" when there is many players with capes with best stats even though they have achieved it with hardwork. And it's all hardwork, but i am saying that a Quester should have access to things suited for a Quester. A woodcutter access to things suited for Woodcutter etc. So someone who is a quester, a skiller and does combat should be rewarded with something that is the best for all their work and achievements? Right? Like some awesome cape with the best stats in game (to reward their combat) and all the functions of every useful cape in game (to reward their skilling and questing)! Oh wait; that's the comp cape! Plus this new cape is bound to be a requirement to have comp cape, so it makes sense that comp cape will match or better it.

You still buy them in the same place. cant seem to find where, tenzing is MIA That dwarf women sells them, though I believe the store does not unlock until you do the new Death plateau (which needs to be done anyway to even have a route up to the plateau [other than running past throwers] since update)

lol wut? Combat capes have never been about grinding or skilling. The only cape with that quality about is completionist cape. I highly doubt jagex will usurp its status either, they will probably buffer is strength bonus, give it any new effects associated with the new cape and strap on a requirement of beating the kiln mini-game (ergo having the cape) to use it. It would be unfair to combat players if you can attatch the new "Fire" cape to Comp cape. Comp cape is currently best cape for combat - and it requires you to finish game to get it. That is the point of it. It is SUPPOSED to be the best cape in game for everything BECAUSE its the final end game content. It's not meant to be something that gets surpassed by later content, it is supposed to remain the best. The fact it is the end game is the sole reason for it stats and the fact it can function as every cape in game (theif boosts and teles from ardougne, enchanted bonesack tele, spirit cape effects, ava's alerter, fire cape etc.). And no it is not 'unfair' that it does; Jagex has stated time and time again they aim updates to the average player who does *everything* they do not pander to groups who want to limit themselves. Be it an outright pure or a "combat player" it is your choice to limit yourself. NB: I am certainly not arguing that the comp cape should remain miles better than other capes, merely that it should remain equal to or greater than the best equivalent for each stat. (eg match or better then best prayer cape, match or better the best str cape, match or better the best crush def cape etc.)

Do you have tutorial mode on? If so it won't let you do it until the correct moment in the tutorial.

did they remove the attack xp reward from death plateau, ill be upset if they did as I could never access gwd with 1 att/def/mage/range back when my account was a summ tank. Also gives obby maulers some strenght bonus boots. Death plateau doesn't actually give climbing boots any more.

I hope not lol but that kind of makes sense to me. I highly doubt it'll will take that exact same format, too predictable; it probably will have some patterning to the monsters but I doubt it'll be the same as fight caves. (eg A AA B BA BAA BB etc.) Especially with only 30 waves to it can't have such extensive build up.

The fix is supposed to be coming with an impending system update. The three hidden tasks are not supposed to be counted, they are just supposed to another 3 of the hundreds of misc tasks that don't reward you anything. The total is supposed to be 480. It's cause of quick fixes, they patched the initial bug of emote and camp still being at 426(?) and put it up to 484 (accidentally adding 1 more task than there is that counts) and now it needs to be put back to 480 and the 3 tasks that shouldn't count be fixed.

Yeah, but it looks like the steel sword and I can't dual wield in 'Scape  Plus, the keenblade sort of has the same shape as Skyrim's steel sword. There is only a finite amount of rough shapes a sword can be; every sword if every game looks like some sword or other in some other game. The same applies to armours for humanoid bodies.

Tbf it does not ACTUALLY say we will fight duo jad. It's just using it as an example to say "how hard do you think x would be?...because y is harder than that" I could have missed that, read through kinda fast, but still, sounds absurd. Tbf it does not ACTUALLY say we will fight duo jad. It's just using it as an example to say "how hard do you think x would be?...because y is harder than that" I think you might be wrong, Sy. "How would you feel about fighting two Jads...at the same time? This double team against some of the toughest bosses in the game will be nothing compared to what awaits in the final wave." Sounds to me like fighting dual Jads is the second last wave of the minigame. The new areas in the video look great. I can't wait to hear about what's actually there. I think its wording Jagex may nerf later as it is a vague clause in the sentence that can be read either way, which always causes issues with jagex news posts! You can read it as you'll face 2 jads to really test you and THEN still have to face something harder; but equally it can read do you think two jads would be hard? Because this boss is gonna be harder than that.

According to jmods on rsof there is no bug and it's pretty simple: If you take a burthorpe task while you already have a task you get reset. If you take a burthorpe task when you have no task everything runs smoothly. The confusion is arising because some people with a slayer task are accidentally burthorping their task mid-tutorial without realising that is what they are doing. Also some people are panicing because completing a burthorpe task will NOT add to your task streak (eg if you had 22 tasks finishing burthorpe task won't make it 23) so you don't get that message. But when you go back to normal slayer masters you're task streak will still be there.

Task system > options > tutorial mode on Be warned to complete the tutorial you do have to get a burthorpe slayer task & complete 3 quests (druidic ritual, death plateau and the new one; though it does suggest doing wolf whistle in one of the pauses) And for no explicable reason tutorial takes you on a nice lap of all the tutors but completely ignores construction, dg and rc despite having tasks for them (build a room, build furniture, buy wicked hood, tele via kinship, form aprty, do a floor)

The Right to Hate
Terrorism and attacking military targets is kind of subjective to circumstance. Attacking a military installation in a time of peace would be terrorism; like if some French activist group went and planted bombs on a US military base. However when the military is already at war it cannot be terrorism, it is just war. Eg To look at the Deathstar reference (which btw I think the wookie's slave 'fact' is made up can't say I've ever come across that) the Deathstar is already attacking stuff and is at war with the intention of destroying many more planets; so it's not a terrorist attack to destroy it. It's an act of war aimed at ending conflict by crippling the other sides offensive power.

JAGEX LIMITED v.IMPULSE SOFTWARE, ERIC SNELLMAN, and MARK SNELLMAN
That one would be a grey area. The fact it's all in-game makes it "ok" (in theory, obviously not so much in practice) but the fact your are bypassing something theoretically could be caught up by DMCA. But this is off-topic and needlessly complicating the issue. The fact remains developing botting software for runescape is very obviously illegal as they have technological measures in place to prevent botting; thus meaning you breach a law that exists in the DMCA by developing the bots.

JAGEX LIMITED v.IMPULSE SOFTWARE, ERIC SNELLMAN, and MARK SNELLMAN
Arguable. I do believe bot developing is risky business due to getting banned, the very rare successful lawsuit, etc... But I would never say it's entirely wrong. That's just my view, though, and'd be happy to say my reasons. :P. It is entirely wrong in runescape though. In rs specific terms there ARE bot prevention measures in place which means subverting them to develop a bot is very clearly illegal under DMCA. how about bug abuse? its against rs terms and Jagex actively patches bugs ingame. how about item scamming? etc. They are entirely different. They are in-game breaches of in-game rules; yes they are not working as intended but you are not forcibly subverting measures specifically put in place to stop that precise event from happening. Yes scamming is against the rules and there are many warnings about it, however you are not breaking anything or subverting anything when you scam if its all done within the game. If you lure someone to the wildy to kill them for their stuff as a scam it's agaisnt the rules of the game but you haven't done anything to subvert technological aspects of the game code. Equally purposefully abusing a bug is an in-game rule breach. But as the bug exists within the game and its enact entirely within the games normal functions you haven't done anything to subvert preventative measures. Developing a bot goes with the intention of specifically subverting and tampering with the raw game code to access data/input data that you should not be able to and is subverting measures specifically in place to try and stop this occurring; which is why it is illegal under the DMCA

I think the UK law has it right: Groups like that aren't illegal to exist however it IS illegal to attempt to incite hatred agaisnt another specific group (being it religious, sexist, homophobic, racist or w/e). So no flyering or parading around with things like "God Hates [bleep]" etc.
