favour points
No. When trading in for favour points for seeds it checks which jadinkos are attracted in the herblore habitat. If there are none you get vine flower seeds. If there are some you get the seeds they drop. So having common, shadow, diseased or camoflauged present means you can get vine flowers, fruit tree (apple, banana, orange only), vine bushes or vine herbs. Igneous or Cannibal produce only bush seeds Aquatic only flower seeds Amphibious only fruit tree seeds Carrion and draconic only herb seeds Using striped vine from camoflauged jadinkos you can pay Papa Mambo to ward off a jadinko type for 15minutes; by using this to scare off commons (as any flower at all attracts them) you can get jadinkos alone. Generally people plant kalferberry, green flowers and build boneyard to attract carrion (herb only) and pay Papa mambo to ward off the commons that way you can trade in for 100% herb seeds.

Next months 'Double XP Weekend'
My goal will be to point out it is bonus exp, not double exp to anyone who uses the wrong name. It just confuses newer players who are not aware of the details.

Another Excel question
^this. If functions ftw. This formula will look for any cell in c1:c23 range that says Common (exactly that wording) and add the matching cell from D1:D23 to the sum. So (as it is only set to run to 23) based on screen u shown it would output 6

Go Go Gadget Finished Photos
Finally got around to editting the few photos I have taken since october 2011 so time for a new post for feedback etc. Cityscape one I'm a bit 50:50 on whether I actually like it or it's just a fuzzy muddle. The rest I'm quite pleased with though; the focus in the last one isn't quite where I had intended, but I kinda think it works. In other news I have a flower time lapse in progress which should be rather awesome, just need 4 weeks to finish it! All higher res on Deviant Art

Farming Planner
Ah I see on the 6 thing, my bad. As for the point about planting being a small amount, that may be a good ground for leaving it out in terms of an individual option (though personally I'd opt for completeness) and the same could be applied to picking xp. However, there is definite grounds for having health check as a stand alone entry; after all a tree run, especially in the context of bxpw, is likely to involve just checking, no planting or picking.

correction/ additions - entier the kiln
It was probably recommended because the person(s) writing it was using normal spellbook, and noticed that during the quest you use normal fire/water spells and presumed you wouldn't be able to do this while on an alternate spellbook, but couldn't test as they'd already done it. Not sure that is what happened but it sounds likely to me. See I thought that at first, but it doesn't add up for what is actually in the guide. For one thing if that was the logic why is it only suggested opposed to required? And the part in question of the guide while reference fire and water spells doesn't actually say you need to be on normal spell book to do this (eg how Do no Evil specifically points out you need ancient mage for this part) If that was the intent of it being there I think the writer must've been having an off day because it does literally appear to be a random suggestion plonked in for no reason due to is positioning and lack of referral.

Future Update Discussions
I've trawled most of the runefest stuff extensively and can't say I've come across mention of a new gem at all. I don't really see much of a window for a new gem stone either. Gem rings aren't stat rings, they are effects or teleports and off the top of my head there's nothing really useful to add there. Bracelets again the same applies. Necklace again the same applies. Amulet sure you can step up the stats again. But unless we are gonna get a random spread of new teleports or some obscure effects I can't see much of a window for more in the gem jewellery system.

Farming cycles: screwed?
There's always the factor as well that last night when a log in server went offline and was rebooted it caused most of rs to crash and resulted in some erratic outcome. Eg many GE prices leapt up for no reason. And I don't put much faith in 'other people are reporting the same'; even high level farmers have been reporting ticks being messed up basically ever since farming came out because they happened to not have a tree take aaagggggges until that day or w/e. Plus farming ticks have always been known to be some what erratic on occasion so its hardly something new if something goes quirky.

Farming cycles: screwed?
It's just luck. As mentioned log in and out restarts current farm tick for your account, which can delay things. Secondly farm ticks can happen mid run, eg something goes to stage 2 just after you planted it, depending on your planting order its possible that Trollheim, ardy and fally were planted just before a tick happened and moved to stage 2 while u were travelling to plant cathurby and ecto; putting thoose 2 plots a whole farm cycle behind the others.

Is my computer okay...?
Microsoft Security Essentials is hands down the absolute best free anti-virus program for windows; heck it's even preferential to certain paid ones (eg that trash heap known as Norton). There are a few paid ones that do about equal/marginally better, but in terms of the free market/average user by far the best.

14-Feb-2012 - TzHaar Quest, Minigame and Graphical Rework
Game update FAQ rasied this issue (this ring vs kinship = overpowered?) Their response was the dialogue of having to pick a location means it isn't that much faster than kinship therefore it is not an issue.

Farming Planner
While the new(ish), since I last looked anyway, tweak to fruit tree on farm planner may be useful in some ways. The plant + check and plant + check +pick 6 setup that is. It's kinda of made the planner useless in other ways. It'd be nice to have the options for plant check pick back as individual items. As the calculator stands it is rather useless for a number of uses for fruit trees. Eg: No way to calculate plant + check + pick on less than 6 tree's in 1 go. No way to calculate just checking xp for a bxpw tree run. No way to check just planting xp to see if your farm run will get up a lvl up b4 you go bk a day later to check them. etc. A better way to implement imo (this could apply to most categories on the planner/calc though the options would vary) Is to have a series of check boxes eg on fruit tree: Plant, Check, Pick Then allow users to check any combination they wish. So you can calculate each separately or any pairing or all 3 You could even allow a text input for number of plots to simplify further.

Future Update Discussions
I'd be happy even if it was a case of the cut scene can be turned off per boss after you've seen that particular boss 10 times. Allows them to keep any "epic feeling" they want for each boss, but does eliminate hassle to us. Kinda like an extension of the Sage of Doom thing where you have to see the warning 10 times before it can be shut off.

Going to work/school while sick
Yes. It's more than likely they are already taking safeguards to stop them catching an infection anyway, and are probably very conscious about getting any symptoms checked by a doctor immediately. If I go into work with a cold or very mild flu, they'd face exactly the same threat from a bus journey, or spending a night in a bar, or even going to a supermarket. Yeah that post stinks of ignorance about what it is to have AIDs and the treatments. (Meaning dark lord not ginger) If you followed that logic through you are essentially suggesting someone with AIDs should live in a sealed off bubble environment because everything is a heightened threat to their health (which is not an accurate assumption with modern medications). I'd be more likely to stay away from work in a colleague was having chemotherapy, however, as that genuinely does leave like 0 immune system to work with. Though I suspect someone in that situation might be one to take sick leave over the winter period as a matter of self preservation, and this is of course assuming they are one of the few that isn't so down trodden by side effects they can't really work anyway.

So, I've never played a video game before...
I'm appalled that the first reply on this thread was that combat is runescapes 'main focus'. This is just not true at all; to Jagex's eyes the quests and the story are the main focus of the entire game as they are what drive everything forward. In terms of a player there are a vast array of options available, combat is one of these certainly but it is by no means the main focus unless you personally focus upon it. And I'd agree with the advice of just explore and find stuff out, there's plenty of guides on fansites to give you extra insight once you stumble upon something that interests you, people on a forum will generally just give you biased advice tailored to what they do in-game opposed to a general view where by you can w/e you like. As perfectly demonstrated by posts like 'runescape is combat focussed' and 'don't level defence'

When is BXPW!!??
Last year the paws lasted until 16th May and the BXPW was in March. They do not stack, however. Yeah last year the overlapped and paws/boots just acted like all bonus xp items and switched off for the weekend. It's not even like it was a logical assumption to make since we all know paws lasted til may last year (it even said so in this years news post) AND we did have a march bxpw last year; hence everyone citing the precedent of it.

Took moneymaking to the next level! - Advise
People worse of than you aren't likely to fight you and if they do won;t be big stakes because they know they will prob lose. People better than you will want to fight for easy cash, but this is not good choice for you to profit. Evenly matched, its 50:50 odds, overtime any earnings trend towards 0 as 50% lose and 50% wins means for every 1mil you win you lose 1mil.

Dungeoneering
It is basically solo it til around 60 or use outside xp on it. Other than that only way is some friendly clans will sometimes help lower levelled members, my clan we will often do atleast the furnished floors on c6 sm or med with clan mates you need levels though of course doing so can kinda be seen as self-serving afterall more decent dg levels in clan = easier getting teams when you want.
-
Dging clan question.
He wasn't talking about combat level and he has a valid point. Level 100 dg = 3 binds. The average dg should find a hood before level 100. Therefore sub-100 dgers generally have 2h sword and ssh bound. While it is the best combo you can have, even with maxed stats you take a lot of damage or have to waste prayer against most enemies. Above 100 the average dger would have a pl8 body bound (or perhaps a blood necklace). This addition of defence or healing powers makes surviving much easier and makes saving prayer easier. Dgers that don't get pwned due to 3rd bind = faster gds and faster bosses. Hence a lot of the better keyers will not take sub-100 dgers. My clan mate has a max dg friend who occasionally lets us on to floors with him, just taking me and my clan mate (both sub-100) can slow the floors down by about a minute or perhaps 2 if there's a lot of gds or a boss that can't be soloed easily because we die more and/or have to pause more to grab food.

Sigil Prices
Wrong info here. Ever since free trade returned value of trades is monitored in player to player trading as well as ge and does impact the price. If everyone traded plain logs off the ge for 200gp each, ge price would rise. Other than that partially right, there IS a supply on GE due to coinshare drops, however sigils lootshared and turned into shields and the fact shields price isn't tied to the sigil the sheilds have become cheaper than the sigil alone; therefore no-one actually buys sigils.

When is BXPW!!??
Yeah there is no announcement but historically to date there has been a BXPW in march and september each year (since they began)

14-Feb-2012 - TzHaar Quest, Minigame and Graphical Rework
This is the reason why Nex was so difficult for a few months after release, no boss like Nex had ever been released before, and people weren't used to bosses moving/ teleporting/ stunning/ freezing/ prayer drain/ massive damage output/ healing. More bosses where we have no idea what to do for a while would be great! Yeah its not like they even NEED to be entirely new never before seen mechanics the monsters use; just don't make them carbon copies of pre-existing monsters so that we actually have to discover what combat styles they use, what specials they have and what they are weak too before good tactics can be sussed.

14-Feb-2012 - TzHaar Quest, Minigame and Graphical Rework
Most challenging is a relative term, we must remember that. Eg the most challenging logic building toy for 1-3 year olds is only challenging in comparison to others of that same category. Tbh I think a major mistake jagex made was using largely recycled monsters, they are just essentially normal thzaar, fight caves monsters and an old quest boss thrown together. It is hardly gonna take long to suss good tactics when we already have prior experience of all the monsters so know what works well etc on them.
